Dallas: Workers Spray Ebola Patients’ Vomit Off of Sidewalk with Pressure Washer and No Protective Clothing (Photos and Video)
Ebola carrier Thomas Eric Duncan – the guy who brought Ebola to Dallas – vomited outside his apartment building.
A WFAA tv news chopper took the following photograph showing how workers are cleaning up the vomit:

Couldn’t they be tracking it on the bottom of their shoes as they
move around? What about the power-wash guys? Where did they go next?
That’s a pretty good way to spread Ebola … especially if experts are right that Ebola spreads through aerosols.
Similarly, the Ebola patient’s sweat-stained sheets were left on his bed for days without being removed … even though his family was quarantined in the same room.
As we noted yesterday, arrogance and carelessness may lead to unnecessary deaths.
Update: WFAA TV Dallas/Fort Worth Channel 8 news says that the Centers for Disease Control ordered the sidewalk to be power-washed:
Apparently, they didn't tell anyone to use protective suits, or to keep residents or passersby away while power-washing.
And from the casualness of the guys doing the power-washing, it is unlikely
that (1) they put any disinfectants in the power-washer or (2) they were even told what they were cleaning.

If a school kid drops a tiny bit of mercury on the school bus, the kids will be evacuated as the hazmat crews clean the bus at great expense, then order the school AND the entire city to evacuate and close down. Ebola? No problemo.
Yeah, No shit! I'd really like to know if the HVAC system in that apartment building has a really good HEPA filter, cause if it don't, then all those tenants are breathing the same aerosolized virus from a supposedly quarantined apartment.

The medical records excuse is lame.
In my office ( a small office) a detail like that, IF IDENTIFIED AS SIGNIFICANT, would have been verbally communicated.
Medical records are really just a way for payors (ie the government) to monitor (read: down code) physician activity. It is a way to limit the amount of money they have to pay for physician services.
Electronic medical records (EMR) are, in no meaningful way, a needed part of medical care. In fact they DETRACT from good care due to the effort required to record information electronically rather than just making important notes by hand. Good medical care remains a product of professional judgment and good rendering of prescribed care. A smart doc, devoted staff, good, pleasant patient interaction and education will do it. Medical records are there for future reference. They have become, however the actual product of the patient interaction, not a good patient outcome.
The UK is abandoning their NHS system (I have been told). I have been opposed to EMR since they were intoduced. They are dangerous. They have caused doctors to focus on a computer screen instead of that person sitting in the chair next to them...the um..patient.
It just keeps getting more full Ebola retard.. Don't go to a store anywhere near this apartment complex in Dallas.
"Ms Jallah visited her mother's home at Ivy Apartments on Sunday morning to check on the condition of 42-year-old Mr Duncan, a man she calls 'Daddy'.
She told The Washington Post that she found him in bed, fully dressed and shivering. After going to buy him a blanket, she brought Mr Duncan some hot tea which is when she noticed the redness of his eyes, a well-publicized sign of Ebola.
With his temperature at 102F, Ms Jallah called 911 and described his symptoms which included severe diarrhea, fever and shivering.
The mother-of-four advised the EMTs not to enter the apartment without gloves and face masks, warning them that her stepfather had recently traveled to the U.S. from Africa.
An ambulance took Mr Duncan to the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital while she followed in her minivan along with several family members.
Ms Jallah brought along the blanket that she had bought earlier for him and which he had had draped around himself until the ambulance had arrived.
After many hours of sitting in the ER waiting room she was finally informed that Mr Duncan had been isolated and that no visitors were allowed.
The family were not informed that Mr Duncan had suspected Ebola. No one took away the blanket which the contagious man had used or advised the family about what to do next.
Ms Jallah returned to her mother's apartment, sprayed disinfectant and sprinkled liquid Clorox on the furniture. She told her mother not to sleep on the bed and bought sanitizers, a makeshift mattress and two new blankets.
Her next contact with healthcare officials was on Wednesday night when she and her husband Aaron Yah were visited in their second-floor apartment by officials from the state and CDC.
The officials took the temperature of everyone in the apartment - Ms Jallah, her husband, their daughter and three sons, aged two to 11.
The night before Mr Duncan was quarantined, the children had stayed over at their grandmother's apartment and slept on her couches.
The health workers told the family not to leave their apartment, but when Ms Jallah explained that they didn't have any food, she was told her that she and her husband could go to the store."

So is anybody tracking those power washers with Ebola on their shows? As they walk around they are leaving little bits of virus on the sidewalk, where other people, pets etc are picking it up. And of course the wash water is running into the gutter and onto the tires of cars. As soon as those cars start driving the water on their tires will be aerosolized nicely. And then there are those pedestrians strolling through the vomit wash and heading god knows where. What we are seeing here is an epicenter developing in reeal time. I expect to see that whole apartment complex quarantined, then burned, very soon.
On a related topic - how long before somebody remembers Leper Colonies and we begin shipping Ebola victims off to remote islands and dumping them there to die? We have to do it to save the children.

I can't even imagine how much it will cost in our overpriced medical system to treat/disinfect thousands of cases of this here in the U.S. Mother nature may have finally found a way to reduce the number of humans that have been plaguing the earth for the last few hundred years.

I will be the first to admit that I have absolutely no idea if this news has merit or not, and I have serious doubts, but this could be at least a spot of good news for a change if it is real and valid to this unfolding drama. After reading that the ebola virus can be transmitted through semen, I offer the following advice:
1. Use a condom.
2. If a condom is not used, insist that the male partner jerk off 2 or 3 times immediately before sex. That way, there will be a minimal amount of semen when orgasm is reached. And if one is really lucky, it will only be a "dry heave".
3. Do not participate in sex involving semen. But that IS sorta drastic.
It is readily apparent to me that #1 is the best choice. But I really HATE using condoms. So I guess it's #2 here. Good luck all.

Why was this even left for the city workers to clean up? CDC should be onsite, in full hazmat gear, the area cordoned off, for a proper handling of the cleanup inside the apartment and outside on the sidewalk. This is reminding me of how the Japanese authorities handled the aftermath of Fukushima - poorly.
