Second Dallas Patient Exhibiting Ebola Symptoms - Live Feed

Tyler Durden's picture

Following the sad death of Thomas Duncan this morning, CBS is now reporting that a possible second case of Ebola has been discovered in a suburb of Dallas:

  • *DALLAS AREA PATIENT SHOWS EBOLA SYMPTOMS: CBS

The patient claims to have had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, referred to as Dallas ‘patient zero.’

Live Feed (via CBS Local)

CBS Dallas Live Stream

As CBS reports,

An afternoon news conference has been called in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, to discuss a possible second case of Ebola.

The patient claims to have had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, referred to as Dallas ‘patient zero.’

It is not clear how the patient had contact with Duncan or if the patient was one of the about 50 people being monitored by state and local health officials.

The call came in shortly after noon from Care Now, 301 Main Street, where the patient was “exhibiting signs and symptoms of Ebola.”

The patient is being transported to a nearby hospital by Frisco firefighter-paramedics.

First responders are also examining clinical staff and other patients.  It is unknown how many other people may have been exposed to the patient.

Obama is guilty of misfeasance and malfeasance in office. He is a criminal.

In addition, he is committing second-degree murder under cover of law on everyone who dies from these diseases his reckless policies allowed into the country - Yes, he is guilty of Second Degree Murder: death by reckless indifference to life.

We have reached the point where we tell the Black Racists who support him to go to He11. We tell the Hispanic Racists, the Gay Mafia, the Obamabots, the MSM, the Hollywood celebrities, and any dumba$$ federal cops who defend him to do the same.

We show up at our congressional delegations Town Hals - and their offices in their districts and if we have to - we sit in until the pressure can't be resisted.

If they can mobilize in Hong Kong - we can mobilize to save our lives, the lives of our children, grandchildren, extended family, and the rest of humanity in America.

This transcends politics - this is a genuine life or death crisis. Obama must be removed from office because he is insane - literally - with desire to import all the illegals he can get over the border and use them to open the door to Death in America.

Obama must go. He is aiding and abetting mass homicide in America through insane policies concerning an open invasion of illegals carrying not just this, but God knows what other diseases.

Black Racists, Hispanic Racists (especially the ultra-racist La Raza), gay heterophobic hate-speakers, MSM propagandists, political hacks, air-for-brains cops, kiss-up military flag officers . . . it's over for Obama. Move out of the way, or watch society overwhelm you.

Get rid of him peacefully, or be prepared to see America erupt into a blazing fire of violence against *you* for trying to keep him around.

Local ABC station confirms it is a Sheriff's Deputy:

The patient was identified as Dallas County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Michael Monnig, who accompanied county health officials Zachary Thompson and Christopher Perkins into the Dallas apartment where Thomas Eric Duncan had been staying when he fell ill with Ebola.

"Initial reports from the urgent care facility indicated the patient had direct contact with the Dallas 'patient zero'; however, Frisco firefighter-paramedics now report the patient says he had contact with the apartment and family members related to the Dallas 'patient zero' prior to the apartment being decontaminated," said city of Frisco spokesperson Dana Baird.

The deputy had been ordered to go inside the unit with officials to get a quarantine order signed. No one who went inside the unit that day wore protective gear.

Jones is reporting per the San Antonio, TX news - here's the source ...

A Dallas County sheriff's deputy who went inside the Dallas Ebola victim's apartment last week without protective gear was transported from an urgent care center in Frisco to the Texas Presbyterian Hosptial Wednesday.

The patient, Sgt. Michael Monning, went to the Frisco healthcare facility as a precaution after feeling stomach pain and fatigue, his son told the Dallas Morning News.

Frisco Fire Chief Mark Piland said in a Wednesday afternoon press conference that Monning exhibited enough symptoms during an examination at a CareNow hospital in Frisco to raise concern, but is being treated as a "low risk case."

Piland said Monnig is not considered one of the 48 people currently being monitored for Ebola symptoms after some form of contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States was being treated and died Wednesday morning from the virus.

Judging the way the previous person got sent away and therefore any chance of catching his disease early enough to treat was squandered, it is very probably that he just wants the Hospital to do their job and perform tests on him.

The patient probably figured that answering yes to both knowing him and traveling to Africa gets him better attention...

WHO Report

http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/136020/1/roadmapsitrep_8Oct2014_eng.pdf

Officially....

In 1-2 days 4000+ will have died in Africa...

With close to 9000 infected...

Apparently there was a brief "no new, or declining rate of infection" in areas, but has since been attributed to the collapse of any meaningful record keeping..

Its being reported that these rates are way... under reported

Fun fucking times...

My wife and I have been charting the progress in W. Africa pretty extensibly and we see no notable decline in total infection rate.  The rate continues to be exponential and, so far, the data matches the projected curve at 98-99% depending on what kind of function you overlay on it.

Basically, we put all of the historical infection numbers published by the WHO into an Excel spreadsheet by date and are now updating using CDC numbers now that the WHO has stopped counting.

At day 200 (9/28/14) we were at 7157 infections and we should be at/above 10k around the end of the month.  If this rate continues, we will be at 50k in approximately three months time.  100k would be less than two months after that.

Edit - new numbers just out:  Oct 5 - 8033 infections.

Hey Rhino.

I was just loosely interpolating between the the 4th order polynomial version you have and the simple exponential formula:  Y=94.87e^0.0208x  R^2=0.9843.

The two models don't really diverge significantly until we get more than 100 days out - at which point the 4th order version slows way down.  Of course by then, who really knows what we'll be seeing.

Unfortunately, none of my numbers take into account any infections other than those counted in W. Africa because no one is totalling them up that way.

Yeah - my thought was that it would be better to only use reported numbers even if under-reported because I was mainly looking for rate information and for that I need consistant numbers.  The under-reporting probably only acts to push us forward into the same curve.

The WHO has no idea how many have been infected and died.  Their counts are based upon the medical facilities available, which are woefully inadequate and completely filled, turning infected people away and not counting them on a daily basis.  The best guess is that the real number is at least four times as large as the WHO estimates, meaning the true number is closer to 32,000 than 8,000.  This means approximately 5 more doublings at 20 days each (100 days; mid- to late january 2015) to reach 1,000,000 cases.  2015 then would have 18 doublings (18 X 20days ~ 1year), meaning 1 billion infections by mid-2015, if you do the math.  That is not much time for the CDC, Prez, WHO ect., to come to their senses.  Not much time to develop an effective vaccine either.

The newest victim has to be that poor pressure-washer guy.

He thought his life sucked after he lost his job, got divorced, moved in to his car and got that crappy part-time maintenance job at the apartments just so he could sleep in the boiler room. His life is about to enter a whole new dimension of SUCK.

How would the VIRUS be contained if a fire took it up into DALLAS metropolitan district ?

If you have things there they may stay there !

I bet everyone is scrambling OUT of there pronto to net get caught under the wire.

Or will they take a year to slowly tear it all down and dissolve it all ?

Here is part of the problem to me. As far as we know there was no before and after testing of the apartment. Scientifically-medically minded people would have wanted to study the apartment to see what surfaces and items were infected, if any. I do not even think a clean up crew went in for over a week. While unfortunate, it is also a good way to see if the virus can live on certain surfaces from kitchen sinks to toilet bowls to furniture. I do not know of any testing that was done.

The other half is testing after the cleaning. Part of the reason is to verify the apartment is actually sterile and part to discover where the microbe might hide or how long it can live outside of a host. Again, I cannot tell that anyone has done this.

I suspect a lot of what we "know" about ebola is actually conjecture and best guess and even wishful thinking. That apartment potentially had answers or more evidence.

I am telling you that this is a political disease, not a medical one...at least to this administration.

Yet one more reason to live in flyover country...

When we came here to look for houses after I got offered the job, we saw seven black people in an entire weekend. Back where we were before, that happened in one minute. And here...most of the people around have never even heard of Africa, much less travelled there.

We live close enough to cities that we can drive for a couple of house to have cultural events, stay a night, and get the hell out of Dodge after going to a museum the next day. But we're far enough away from Chicago that we can prank call Rahm Emmanuel and not have to worry about it. ("Rahm, it's the President. I want you to get the guys together and whack Hillary."
