Initial Jobless Claims Average Drops To Lowest Since Feb 2006
Initial claims fell a modest 1000 this week to 287k, beating expectations (for the 4th week in a row) of 294k hovering near the lows of the cycle. The less noisy 4-week moving-average has dropped to its lowest level since Feb 2006 and continuing claims drops to its lowest since April 2006. This is as good as it gets... (especially in light of the tumble in hiring seen in JOLTS) - simply put, there can be no firings, because there is no hiring.
Claims beat for 4th week in a row..
and the 4-week average fell to Feb 2006 lows...
as continuing claims fell to April 2006 lows...

The first federal prosecutor to probe the financial dealings of Bill and Hillary Clinton says he was poised to bring high-profile indictments against top Arkansas political and business figures — based in part on testimony from a chief witness against the then president — when he was abruptly replaced by a panel of federal judges, throwing his investigation into turmoil.
"I was angry, frustrated and above all disappointed that I was not going to be able to carry through and finish bringing the indictments," writes Robert Fiske, a former U.S. attorney who served as the original independent counsel in charge of the Whitewater investigation, in a forthcoming memoir, "Prosecutor Defender Counselor."
Lawsuit, publishing factory burns down, nailgun attack, small plane crashes, crazy sniper, doesn't look good if the truth gets out.

Has anyone tracked the number of jobs that qualify for unemployment insurance? Are we actually seeing a decline in claims ( though NSA rose 30,000) or are we seeing fewer jobs that qualify for unemployment and thus numbers are dropping? I know each state is a bit different...
If Steve LIESman tells me everything is getting better.. it must be!
The non-participation jobs rate is an ISIS terrorist trick.
Which of course has nothing to do with islam.
So employment participation is at its lowest point since the 70's I think, then there are less jobs to have jobless claims from. Well we are certainly working in the right direction. I guess when the participation rate goes to zero there will be zero jobless claims and we will have a perfect world.
I stand in the presence of brilliance.

The beatings will continue until morale improves
the great bamboozle-
all that should matter is 1:1
ex:
how many jobs are there nationwide?
how many adults of working age are there nationwide?
how many jobs were created this month that pay more than 24K? - which is still poverty in the modern world.
NOT EVEN 2K gross take home is living? where? Texarkana?
on a W-2 that is 400.00 a week net?
stop lumping in part time shit jobs with job creation.
how many people are not working?
how many people not working are ineligible for unemployment benefits?
_______________
are we really so stupid and gullible that we need these birth / death / extra special sauce formulas that mean nothing to blow sunshine up our
collective asses to feel better and to be able to lie ourselves into thinking things are great when they are not?
to be fair, why not show the percentages / changes from the previous month / year... on a separate chart!
______________
back to the basics- 1:1
stop with the fuzzy math and snake oil equations already.
Part timers don't qualify for unemployment. your hired, laid off in 3 months, "I feel your pain, but I don't give a damn!!!! Official policy. Of course the number applying is a record lows. There's are record low full time workers.
Ding, Ding, Ding ... we have a winner.
Bullshit really does sell, as government has just proven in this article.
I suppose they could always hire a bunch of folks so they can fire them en masse in a few months and make it look like they are 'cutting costs'.
how many people were hired by political groups over the last 3 mo.'s.
judging from the phone traffic at my house, it has to be millions, if their lucky maybe they can morph into part-time christmas help, after the elections.
