Martin Armstrong Warns "A Mad Max Event Is Possible"

Tyler Durden's picture

Excerpted from Armstrong Economics,

We are at a crossroads. The tree has been cut. Which way will it fall – authoritarian or democracy? We can make a difference.

Step one is understanding what is the problem. At least then we can address a solution with some reasonable game plan.

mad-max

We have a great convergence coming. It is nothing to be afraid of and it is nothing we can ignore. Yes a Mad Max event is possible.

The average person depends upon government tremendously – even those not on welfare. There are pensions and Social Security that people really believe they are “entitled” to and thus these benefits will exist. What happens when they realize they do not?

Socialism has even changed the historic bounds of family. You had 4 to 6 kids for that was your retirement. The kids knew they had the responsibility of taking care of their parents. Today – that’s government’s job. Everything has been changed to depend upon government that never tells the truth and they will defend to the very last drop of your blood.

Marriage-Medeval

Marriages were ARRANGED! The age difference was typically 25% during the 19th century. To sell movies, Hollywood turned lust into love at first sight. They painted the image of happily-ever-after. I spoke with film makers and they all said people did not want to leave a movie feeling depressed. They glorified marriage and set unrealistic standards. Consequently, the age difference collapsed and the divorce rate rose to 60%+ because of unrealistic expectations.
Pensions began as the marriage contract. The man had to first establish himself and then propose. The Dowry was all about ensuring the wife would be secure – the pension. It was not about “love at first sight” yet according to things like Match.COM, 70% of people dating expect love-at-first-sight. So many people have the wrong expectation of marriage and are thus doomed from the start.

Even the Black family was stronger than the white family before welfare. When you paid women not to be married and to have children, you change the family structure. Socialism has significantly altered the behavior of every race all based upon expectations of government.

MA-FeedingBird

Free food changes behavior be it people or animals. Being compassionate is to be human. To give a man a free fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and your feed him for a lifetime. Government adopted the first strategy to create dependency upon the political system.

They tell you do not feed the bears in Yellowstone National Park because they then look for free food and no longer hunt. Humans are no different. What happens when government collapses and people are totally unprepared because they never thought government collapses?

On that note, if we are going to a Mad Max event, I call dibbs on Jay Leno's Shelby collection and the Tinkie factory. I wish to be known as the gold king, who sells the gold cakes, for gold.

WHEN? When is the only bit of information that we are truly interested in. We keep up on the latest news, hoping for signs of the end, or at least hints that it may actually be close. We all know (or hope) that this path is unsustainable, and that an end to these systems, and indeed the world as we know it is coming. The only question which remains - the only bit of information with any value is that which answers the question, when. Of course, to this question no answer can be given. So until the day it happens we will continue to be disappointed, hah.

Oscar Mayer is correct. Any person who subscribes to "anarcho-capitalism" either doesn't know what Anarchism is or does not know what Capitalism is.

Detailed description here: http://www.infoshop.org/AnarchistFAQSectionF

Amongst other differences, the two are fundamentally incompatible due to their polar opposite views on property. The terms property and possession have distinct and different meanings under Anarchism and property is explicitly rejected as a form of theft / oppression. Yet this very same property is a foundation of Capitalism itself.

Detailed description here: http://www.infoshop.org/AnarchistFAQSectionB3

I do not necessarily advocate for the positions outlined above, but I do advocate for the term "anarcho-capitalism" being discarded as a silly oxymoron. Typically it seems to be used within right-wing propaganda as a Sophistry tool.

Sat, 10/11/2014 - 13:42 | 5318411 Infnordz
Infnordz's picture

Nothing is free, some kind of property is unavoidable, even wild animals have a kind of property, which we call territory, which can be a kill or be killed matter including by starvation; smarter animals like us apes have social structures to try and waste less time and energy on that wasteful conflict.

The arguments against "anarcho-capitalism" at infoshop are flawed, based on bankrupt oppressive Socialism and mistaking a Socialist government caused crony 'Capitalist' Corporacy society for a Capitalist one; I don't agree with complete Slavery, but some trade-offs are required to live, especially with excessive government taxes, and would be much less with minimal or no government; yes, the Austrian Economists are not perfect, but they do seem to have lots of good ideas unlike the Socialists.

I'm learning more about just how bad Socialist Government has become from training after being merged into a huge transnational corporation; the amount of regulation and priviledge is really quite shocking and could flatten a smaller business with admin. costs, which obviously significantly benefits corporations; I think this was intentional!

I doubt that many people could function in a complete Anarchy for any period, so some minimal hierachy and specialisation is required for groups of humans, even at family level (which stupid socialist feminism has significantly damaged now).

Our real enemies are the overly predatory minority of Psychopaths (not all), their willing and weaker willed cronies, other manipulated damaged people and lazy uninformed thinking by the coddled majority; the majority are running out of time now...

Sat, 10/11/2014 - 23:03 | 5319669 Mediocritas
Mediocritas's picture

I agree with most of your post, which is exactly why I put that qualification at the end that I don't endorse the Anarchist view. I contend that the will to establish property (in the Anarchist sense) is a genetic drive, a product of sexual selection. Trying to establish a system without it is doomed to failure.

Where I agree with Anarchists is the general opposition to enforced Authority. It doesn't matter is it's left wing or right wing, Communist oppression or Crony Capitalist oppression (Fascism). They're essentially the same thing: a small group of psychos in charge, simply using different methods to steal from the masses.

Where I oppose the Austrian school is that it takes very little digging into their framework to realise that they are, in fact, advocating for much of the very system that we have right now. They ARE neo-liberals, they literally defined the term itself, and neoliberalism demonstrably leads straight to crony capitalism. Many fellow proponents of Liberty get sucked in by Austrian nonsense.

So while I think we agree in essence, I do not agree (based on my reading of Anarchism and Austrian School economics) with your second paragraph. I reject some of the Anarchist position as unrealistic, and most of the Austrian position as Fascism in disguise.

Both fail to account adequately for the fact that humans are a Great Ape sub-species, with some ugly primitive behavior being carried in the genome.

"Explain how it will work when theres not enough food/electricity. .etc. "

1. Rip up your fucking lawn and the ornamental shit and plant herbs, fruits and vegetables that you like to eat.  Start in the the back if you give a fuck what the bum across the street thinks and/or want to keep the new food source on the low down.  You woould be surprised at how many 'weeds' you have been pulling and poisoning that are actually really nutricious and hardy foodstuffs.

Deer, rabbits, groundhogs, squirrels, birds, etc. are gonna come to eat your veggies if there are any such critters in your area. That might actually be a good thing since they will make excellent entres once you get a mean enought hankering for meat and get your hands dirty doing whatever it takes to put 'em on the plate.

Some ducks lay as well as chickens and you don't hear that damned crowing at dawn.  Fish in a pond or a cistern or a barrel are a bitch to russle in the dead of night with the dogs on the loose.

You can eat ants and grasshoppers, frogs and iguanas, chihuahuas and pot bellied pigs.  In WW2 era France if the butchers didn't leave the head on a rabbit it was sold cheap because it was a housecat even if the sign said rabbit..

2. Water can be pumped by hand/flywheel and/or dumb animal power.  You don't need a horse; the big dog likes running and playing.   Keeps the animal strong and you might want one for security enhancement anyway.

Capture rainwater, bank gutter runnoff into your plot instead of onto the street.

3. Learn a simple trade or ten.  Sew and patch.  Carve and splint.  Bow and arrow.   Tallow and lye.   Salt and jerk.   Home brew and pickle.   Edible floar can be made from acorns.   Corn can be pounded into pone.   Maple trees yield syrup and bees make honey.

Google some shit for yourself or ask teh gallery and you will get a link deluge and a thousand ideas...

I LOVED the new moive "The Rover"

If you place it in the Mad Max timeline, it's after Mad Max (still some cops around)  but before Road Warrior (Total Chaos). In "The Rover" there are no police, but some military in the "badlands" barely holding on, and gas is (somehow) still available for for 10 USD (USD LOLZ!!) a gallon (which I thought was pretty low)

It's very nillistic and has casual sociopathic-level violence.

Quite agree.  For soft targets the 338L is nice but I prefer the 416.  Supersonic and damned accurate to 2,000 meters; and with the BDR round, has only a 48 inch ordinate at 1,000 meters.  With such velocity, normal long range parameters such as wind, humidity have little effect.  Point, shoot, smile.  Turns any moron into a marksman.  Liberty groups nationwide should stock a pair with optics, suppressors, and a few K rounds.  Love the 50, have thousands of AP, API, I, and titanium-tipped rounds. But my true love is my Anzio 20mm for hard targets.

Edit:  408 Cheytac, not 416 Barrett.  Been playing with sons 416 this month and stated wrong caliber for the 305 grain BDR round:

"305gr. Battlefield Domination Round (BDR). The 305grain BDR round is used for rapid defense engagements from the rifle out to 1000. The maximum ordinate of this projectile over the 1000 yards range is 48 inches. The operator places a rifle sights elevation setting of 1000 yards and then aims at the mid thigh point of any target from 0 to 1000 yards away. The high velocity (3500 fps) and low maximum ordinate makes the flight time extremely short (1 second to 1000 yards), which makes the gun able to engage targets to 1000 yards about every 3 seconds. It is much less time for a semiautomatic gun. The normal data needed, such as range, winds, and environmental conditions are not needed at such high velocities."

Without the protection of individual rights — i.e., inalienable rights that accordingly cannot be voted away — democracy is simply mob rule, which is precisely what Ben Franklin meant when he said, "When the people find they can voted themsevles money, that will herald the end of the Republic."

Suffice it to say, then, that our republic ended many decades ago and that none actually exist today, least of all in a world where money and banking have been corrupted out of all proportion by governments and those who control them.

So when Armstrong says that what's happening "is nothing to be afraid of," he couldn't be more wrong.  There's a shitstorm coming of unprecedented proportions — call it economic ebola — and there's going to be hell for countless millions.

I hope you're prepared, so as not to be among them:

Tmosely- I like a lot of your posts as you provide some valuable insight to different topics. I wish I could agree with you on bitcoin but I can not. The idea of bitcoin I do like but there is an issue that really makes me hate it. Its an issue most will likely not think of. That issue is the electrical grid. We all know how fragile the grid has become from even ZH articles stating how weak it is. It could go down fairly easy from solar flare or EMP. No electricity, no way to access bitcoin. If I rely solely on bitcoin as the currency of choice and that happens, what am i suppose to do if a terrible event mentioned above occurs? Thats why I always tell myself before investing in anything long-term - If I can not physically hold it in my hand , then I do not own it or can protect it. I may be way out there with my reasons why I dislike bitcoin, but at the end of the day it is my choice what i feel is the best way to secure my family's finances.

It was a tax, and like all your other taxes, you had no choice but to pay, and you have no right to ask for anything in return. (The Supreme Court has already decided this question - the government does not owe you diddley-squat in SS benefits.)

And no, that you allowed yourself to be misled as to the true nature of the situation, does not give you the right to steal from the younger generation. You'll be taking the money by force, just like it was taken from you. That's the reality, like it or not.

And, by the way, Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme. Ponzi’s scheme involved voluntary participation. Social Security isn’t like that; it’s not voluntary.

The more we call SS a Ponzi scheme, the more people are misled into thinking that most of us wanted to pay into it. We didn't and we don't.

You can trying to tell them to wait until their financial situation improves, but when they look around and most of the black people they see are in the same financial situation, have been, and likely will be in the future, you're basically telling them to wait until after menopause.  Good luck with that.

That is the exact way the world worked for millennium.

Your children helped feed you today, and tomorrow.

The childless ended up beggars and quicker-dead.

Now, instead, we ship them off to homes, demand others pay for it, deny that math exists and then scream about "promises."

I told my ex for years he should pull his head from his ass and treat his son with love and respect as his son will be the only one that could care enough to feed him when he is old and decrepit.

He laughed.

Funny thing that is, he is now trying to double down and lavish love and gifts on the grandgift, hoping that she doesn't grow up and see him for the selfish ass that he is.

Meanwhile, my two kids (20 some years apart, like an idiot I thought I should be able to support them myself) show me the myriad ways that they will be around to help me when I need it.

Of course that starts with my helping them to grow up and be happy, productive, self-reliant, humans.

Anyone counting on a dime "back" from their stolen labor is fooling themselves.  Want "your" money you were "promised?"

Get fired now, lose assets now, get hit by a truck now, then go on the teat.

It is going to pay wonderfully right up until the day math wins again.

But unless you are retiring in the next few years, those "promises" aren't worth the papers they were printed on.

They have the millennials believing you and your ilk ripped them off rather than their bad economic policy. They scare us by telling us there are only 2.3 workers for every recipient. They don't mention the offshoring of high wage jobs and the on shoring of low wage replacements (H1B) or the slaves from Central America for everything else. And should I dare mention abortion?  And per SOP everyone believes the lie because it's so much easier hating Grandma than the real scoundrels hiding out in domed structures making 8-9 times the poverty level of many Americans and claiming that isn't enough compensation for the 'work' they do. Add the 100% medical and full salary pensions they have a real sweet deal. All paid by............... you. But are the majority upset at that... nope, no matter what, it's all grandma's fault.

Why? Because we didn't and still do not demand accountability from government. We are too busy infighting while the real criminals steal us blind. Everyone of us knows the score but we all just sit back and pretend.

I agree the boomers share in the fault but it's really all the generations. The largest increases in debt has been during the last 6 years. Sorry, but that includes the millennials and everyone else.

My ex had a friend - probably still does - that ran a Planned Parenthood branch.
