Camera-On-A-Stick-In-A-Bear-Market: GoPro Down 25% In 4 Days
But, but, but... it's a social media platform... but maybe this is why camera-on-a-stick is getting hit hard...
GRPO enters official bear market (down 20%)...
And so does TSLA...
Did Tesla's "D" stand for Down...?

To be accurate, it is really camera on a bra.
I'm long GPRO. I hear they're working on their new model: "Camera on a LONG Stick."
This will really come in handy after your neighbor contracts Ebola...
It will probably go down into the 40s, where it belongs (by looking at the chart).
vr gonna put it to sleep
Narcissistic nation.
It's all about me!!!!
Just remember, no matter how far a stock drops, it would have to drop another 100% from there to hit zero. And, frankly, how likely is that to ever happen?
So let me see. If a stock is at $200, for it to go down to $0, it would have to drop $200. $200/$200 = 100%.
Now, if the same stock drops to $50, then for it to go to $0, it would only have to drop $50. Thus, $50/$50 = 100%.
This is amazing! I'm going to spend the rest of the week trying to find one that doesn't come to 100%.
Wish me luck!

Ask the previous stock owners of GTAT?
An old High School buddy got his Go Pro stock the old fashioned way...married the founder's sister.
Gopro stock is getting whacked because French investigators are now saying Michael Schumacher's ski helmet cracked open because it had an attached Gopro camera.
Odd thing is that they also say the camera survived intact.
Camera more durable than a ski helmet..??
Go figure...
"And here is your wedding gift, all charged up and ready to go."

More than you think, but that is what is called insight, and why people pay a premium for it. No amount of charting and statistical arb. can explain away a good rifleshot trade based on knowing what you have, which is why equities by the sweat equity factor alone deserves a higher tangable valuation than gold which is the ultimate passive long-trade.
Proof:
- Endeavour
- GT Interactive
- Box stores
Go look at the bond spreads today and pick what is next. Top down trend tracking is fun, but 100% drops do happen, about 3 a year, this year ? def. more.
I find it funny that JP Morgan asset is now calling for a correction of 10%+ in the next 90 days as of Friday night's media comments, was hoping TD would pick up on it, given their large stakes in many gogo stocks as per 6-14 13F's.
Thanks for your thoughts.
These kinds of comments are long gone on ZH. Now, there is mostly bullshit posted. I miss the quality-ZH of yesterday....
Whisper rumor that Apple may buy Camera-On-A-Stick to create iStickEye.
You really mean that a corporation producing nothing but action cameras any smartphone could do as well, is not the result of a huge bubble and will survive? Optimist. Or do you believe in bubbles? ;-)
"Camera on a LONG Stick." And here I was thinking you were going all porno on us. My bad.
it's fucking stooopid
Uh huh
I mostly see it on bike helmets.
Better buy that dip before they come out with the anal and vagina versions!
Yes, the GoBlow will be a wildly successful product.
YES!!!!...and we can build and market it for $40 and sell it for $299. The sheeple will go nuts. Bwahahahahaha...
etc. etc. ad nauseam. Ethics have been stricken from B school curricula.
Just wait until they release their Carbon Fiber stick! News highs soon!!!
(sarc... jeeez)
Cool camera (kite aerial photography), stupid investment.
They just came out with a new model, GoPro Hero 4, as did Tesla. Apparently, people (and investors) were not impressed. The main improvement is in the resolution choices; 4K30 / 2.7K50 / 1080p. Seems to me 1080 ( which the old model had) is adequate for most people.
Why can't one just put their smartphone on a stick? If you're into this pic on a stick type of thing. The digital camera went the way of the Betamax because of the smartphone. Well, if someone sells a stick for your smartphone, why does someone need a GoPro stick?
Tiny lenses are big problems.
Which is not an edorsement for investing in GoPro, which doesn't have a great lense, anyway.
scratches pretty damned easily
Yeah. If you need more than 1080, you're a movie studio, and you're not using consumer tech.
How is that possible? It's called Hero 4!
Some must have forgot to take their blue or red pill.
GoZero
The dollar abides.
Well, since apparently wearing a go pro might cause serious brain injury, it kind of screws up the whole professional marketing pitch in theory. http://gawker.com/michael-schumacher-brain-injury-reportedly-caused-by-h...
In turn, serious brain injury may encourage one to invest in GoPro. Sounds like a sound business model.
First Go Pro brought you the epic jump from space by that guy with a parachute and now this fall from grace.
I thought the camera on a drone would do well, as nurses refuse to go to work in hospitals and someone will need to check on the bodies.
I actually had the beginnings of business plan for doing local commercial aerial photography in my backwater desert town. Kites don't work, but commercial (ha) drones are now completely viable.
Viable, except that commercial drones are now officially illegal.
Glad I didn't buy one.
I did buy one. Technically they're illegal for commercial use but there are ways around that. You can include it for free in a package with other services. For example, if you had a job photographing condos, you could charge for the ground shots and include free aerials with the quadcopter/GoPro.
Interesting.
I wasn't clever enough to consider that.
Tesla is on FIRE go tesla.
The Tesla D looks pretty cool. 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and can drive itself! http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/10/6955919/my-lap-of-terror-in-the-tesla...
You mean literally on fire?
This thing again?
id imagine this has something to do with it
GoPro helmet camera may have caused Schumacher's brain injury, PetaPixel says A GoPro helmet camera may have caused a brain injury to Formula 1 racing legend Michael Schumacher, who suffered a serious skiing accident in December 2013, PetaPixel reports. French journalist Jean-Louis Moncet spoke with Schumacher's son, and said "The problem for Michael was not the hit, but the mounting of the GoPro camera that he had on his helmet that injured his brain."http://petapixel.com/2014/10/12/michael-schumachers-ski-accident-brain-i...
The problem is that he liked to do dangerous things. Just ask steve irwin, if you could.
Stock indexes look ready for a massive breakdown. S&P hasn't closed below 1900 since May. Talk about a retrace.
Does GoPro have the patent on little SD card video cameras? Some day in the very near future people are going to be asking themselves WTF they paid $399 for this thing.
for sure, since same design is doin same stuff for 300% less price
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-Original-SJ4000-WiFi-SJCAM-...
american products are overrated cos everytime they give design to be produced in china same quality pop a year later with third the price...
who is fucked enough to buy any " made in usa, assemblied in china " even iphone 6 is a bent spoon ... check wiko phone for the price...
made in usa.... rofl
Drop the price on the Tesla Model S to 40 grand and see if you really can make it up on volume.
Theyll still have 40% profit margins.
Maybe they can attach some SCTY panels on the roof and sell back to the 'lectric companies, mang!
I herd Tesla model 3 will now be powered by wishes, dreams and more govt subsidies!
/derp
Gpro is the new cosn.
Cosine went ipo about 20 seconds before the final final in the dotcom boom circa Summer 2000. After a couple a reverse splits it went from $750 to $3 in 18 months, then spent the next 12 years grindind down to "who cares?"
do they make the camera ICs? What is their secret sauce? What is it that you do here?
They have not been profitable and have $1 a share in the bank. STFB.
The timing of the French report about race car driver Michael Schumacher wearing a GoPro when he hit a tree couldn't be more timely.
Anyone who needs a Go Pro knock off that works just fine, can get one in HK for $40-50 US. Probably comes from the same factory.
Helmets cost extra.
Got a link? I was think of getting one, but I didn't want to spend a lot.
at200, sj4000 or sj1000, $50-$100
bit more expensive, sony as100, polaroid cube.
Funny, cause last time i was in HK about 6 months ago these things were everywhere. Why do people think gopro is so special? zero barrier to entry in this thing....
Camera On A Stick has competition... The Mobius ActionCam.
Does pretty much what you need in terms of cameras on sticks, maybe not everything, but costs $70, not $300. I forsee massive margin compression for Cameras On Sticks.
Why don't they market their cameras to people to place in vehicles so they can document the Blue Roid Raging Army stealing all of their stuff during "civil forfeitures"? I'd actually buy one then.
So long as the dashcam can survive everything except a car-crusher, then why not?
