The quest for power is the primary driving force of history, always has been, always will be. Those who fail to recognize this principle are not spared in the grand chess game, but rather are moved and manipulated by forces that they do not understand.
From the perspective of those who dominate the board it is obviously preferable to have a population of ignorant pawns than it is to have an array of opponents which are capable of mounting an effective resistance. To that end it has always been in the interest of the ruling class to cultivate illusions which obscure the true nature of the game.
It's important to remember that wealth, social status and official positions of power do not reduce the effects of group psychology.
To put it in simple terms the politicians aren't calling the shots. They're puppets. Voting the bums out doesn't work, and now you know why.
Even if we remove every single corrupt oligarch from the councils of government we will end up right back in the same situation unless we deal with the psychological underpinnings of our enslavement.
But how do we do that? How do we reach the group mind and shake the crowd from its slumber?
Group psychology is a weapon and like all weapons it is capable of being used for good or for evil. For many years it has been in the wrong hands. It has been hidden from the public and used against them. It's time for the people to pick up that weapon and use it to free themselves.

Latin America and the poverty that we are imposing to it (see NML Elliot, Singer and Griesa for a reference on how it is done and what they did to West Africa and now to Argentina). Once poverty becomes endemic, epidemics settle in. EBOLA is just one of them, one of the worst we know. We should pray it doesn't get into Mexico, Central and South America, because in most cities and villages there, the health care system is not better than West Africa's. And our own equity funds, supported by our own judicial system are responsible for it, with their blindness to the social costs that enforcing our laws creates for the poorest of the people in South America. We should go after the leaders and their hidden money, NOT after the Countries and their resources as we do today.

I guess you never read any of Wilson's writings. He believed the Constitution and those enumerated powers... and individual rights were inconveniences to be circumvented.
The problem is Human Nature itself. We do not understand ourselves, so how can we even attempt to understand those who by enlightenment or by accident have come to understand how people really work. Without this knowledge we will continue to repeat the same cycle over and over and over again. We could 'fix' all of the symptoms that we pine on and on about here at ZH, but in the end it is the nature of humanity we fail to factor in our equation. When can remedy all of the symptoms, but the ROOT of the problem will continue to exist ad infinitum ad nauseam....
Now the hard part is truly seeing the problem for the depth that it is, hell we can not even reconcile that men and women have completely different operating systems [psychologically] and motivations for all of our actions. So at a certain level we are all just partaking in a giant circle jerk that can never be solved as our egos will not let us see the reality of our situation.

People don't understand what Gates really did when he donated nearly all of his wealth (or other billionaires). The people view it as a philanthropic endeavor, which couldn't be further from the truth. Just as the Rockefellers and others, he transferred his wealth to something he doesn't own but controls. He's effectively a/the controller of population control through his charity (I believe that's what the oligarchs decided was his role in the overall Georgia Guidestones agenda). In the process, he's very well taken care of for life through the foundation.
The Rockefellers were genius in this respect. They turned commercial wealth into dynastic wealth, then dynastic wealth into institutional wealth.

I seem to recall Milgram saying that, prior to the experiment, he had wondered how Nazi Germany had managed to find enough recruits to run the death camps.
By the time he finished, he had decided there would have been enough suitable individuals just in New Haven, Connecticut (which is where the experiment was run, from memory).

The first link is excellent, and has many great quotes. Unfortunately, none of them realized that "government" literally does not exist... that when a bunch of humans smear ink on paper and declare that something new pops into existence (a "government"), and that somehow by some magic millions or billions of other people are obligated by their ink smeared on paper, and will remain so forever.
I believe the only way humans can ever extract themselves from the intellectual trap that gets them to accept slavery is to fully understand that literally none of these fictions exist. And they don't. When someone looks at a pack of [human] predators and assigns a name to them, nothing new (a "government") pops into existence. All that exists is the same [human] predators as before the name was coined.
The solution is not to "get rid of government", the solution is to recognize that no such entity exists, and no such entity has ever existed... and therefore take the appropriate actions (refuse to comply, and kill predators of all species dead [when they threaten or attach you or your property]).

I wrote messages in ZH a couple times to explore the idea that native americans had the best "system" ever. That sounds absurd upon first thought, but after due thought, the reasons become clear.
The point is not that every indian tribe was some great utopian society... that's clearly not true. However, what is true is that the overall system was as perfect as humans can have.
You see, some humans want to be "ruled", some "guided", and some want to be entirely free. And this is the natural state of being on a large land mass that contains huge areas of unsettled land, spotted by hundreds or thousands of tiny settlements or "tribes".
Those who want to be "ruled" can move into a tribe with a dictatorial leader. Those who want to be "guided" can move into a tribe that adopted the kind of "guidance" structure that appeals to them. Those who want to be free live in "no mans land", which is just a term to refer to everywhere outside of those settlements.
And so, any one, any family, any extended family, any group of like-minded friends, and any combination of like-minded family and friends... can move to a location in "no mans land" and either create their own "tribe" with their own "rules" or "way of living"... or none at all.
This is freedom. What some freedom oriented folks don't understand is... to be free, we must allow idiots and morons and clueless fools subject themselves to fake/fictional authorities if that is their choice. We cannot demand that nobody live in such a "system", because then we would be taking away their freedom. The only requirement is... those individuals who subjected themselves to "tribes" must be free to leave... if and when they realize that tribe does not live up to their claims or rules or way of living, or when the individual decides to changes his mind.
Na it aint nothin that counldnt be fixed. A speedy trial and some first class hangins. The rest a them boys will get the message fast or not.
And to achieve these lofty goals we need to learn to say "That's bullshit!" at virtually anytime and practically everywhere to pretty much everybody...

It is here that the rule of government passes from the people to the ruling elite, and it is upon this point that power is transferred to the few. It is done under the auspices of the Necessary, but not Necessarily Proper Clause that has been eviserated by the judical branch until the words Necessary and Proper have become identical and mean the same thing, but they do not for this is impossible; yet far be it from government not to pretend the impossible.
No. To pull the tooth of the tiger, to restore the Rule of the People over their government simply requires a switch back to the dynamic of "Proper", and reel back the power to make all laws from their start to their finish wholey into and unto exclusively, the Congress. Then if the ruling elite want to rule, they must do it in the full light of day through legislative procedures in the public forum; not behind closed doors of agency and decided by non-elected officials that come through a revolving door of employment that alternates between those who would be the ruling elite, and the public trough.
Agency Law is unconstitutional and is therefore illegal.
