The most important thing investors can learn about the market is that 95% of everything they hear or read about it is selling, not telling. Make that 99% for everything they hear or read in the MSM.
After a major crash if one does occur the majority of people will look back and say, it happened so fast and with so little warning that they could only go along on the ride. We do indeed live in interesting times. In my book Advancing Time I focus on how change is occurring at an increasingly faster rate. One of the biggest changes over the last few decades is in the speed and way we communicate, this will have a massive bearing on the effect and speed of a great unraveling.
To many of us, as with the occurrence of other unseemly events that take place in history it is merely a question of when and not if. While we have learned much during the last two hundred years about economics and how to manage our economy we should not be so arrogant as to think we can control greed or change the nature of bankers and politicians. I don't know how anybody that is paying attention could not have foreseen this. I guess the "majority" of people might be surpirsed if they are absorbing daily propaganda from market shills. But as far as market signals, and underlying fundamentals, this market has been overpriced for a long time. Only a fool would be surprised.

I really don't recall this: "i wish i would have counted the number of times W Bush made the same speech about the economy being stronger," What I do recall is that every time Bush made a Tv appearance when the market was running, and made some comment about the economy, the market would get slammed. I got the impression from him in 2007, "look, I gave your a good four year run, you should have taken money out, its not my fault you didn't".

i wish i would have counted the number of times W Bush made the same speech about the economy being stronger, right up until 2008. obama has been more circumspect. but he's not much smarter. he just appointed Yellen, (thats going to kick him in the ass) and he is responsible for CDC. just as obama was also late making changes at VA. then there was Benghazi, am i starting to sound like a campaign ad? just remember how many times Bush made that same speech about the economy, and how mccain pushed for aid to the syrian ISIS rebels. answer to who should be in charge. cue the laughtrack

He began the bailout thing in late 2000 and eight, after all, calling on Congress to authorize the FIRST $787 BILLION (or so) so that the Banks could free up the 'economy' and get 'badly-needed funds' so that they could 'resume lending'. You must not be one of those who availed yourself of this 'free money' that everyone else got. In FACT, I THINK (IMHO) that Bush The Younger's FOURTH term is going rather well! The borders are WIDE OPEN now, and Nancy Pelosi's STILL giving insider financial info out to her hubby, and E.B.T. sales (ever since JP MORGAN got the contract) are rising exponentially (Chevron 'convenience stores' are reporting RECORD sales in Frito-Lay and Monster Energy 'product' sales). IN FACT, the whole POPULATION seems to have gained weight (a good indicator of a healthy economy).
YOU seem to see the 'dark side' in fucking EVERYTHING. WHY bring up the Israeli State Intelligence Services? John (songbird) McCain isn't even a MEMBER of the tribe. YELLEN MIGHT be a 'dual citizen', but does this mean that EVERY 'dual citizen' is necessarily BAD? Are RAHM and EZIKIEL EMMANUEL bad, just because their daddy was high up in the ERGUN, and did bad stuff like terrorism and murders on a massive scale? NO!
