Stunning Scenes From California's Central Valley Drought
No matter what you have read or seen so far on California’s historic Central Valley drought, you probably haven’t been touched by it as much as you will be by the following video from the New Yorker.
Terribly sad.

California has plenty of water...in swimming pools and gold courses.
I am Chumbawamba.
CHUMBA!
where have you been?
Away from the keyboard for too long. You didn't let me fix my typo :(
-Chumblez ;)
Using BW in the movie is suspicious
Leading Climatalogists agree that lack of rainfall is due to Warming caused by emissions coming out of tailpipes of cars people use to get to their jobs they have in order to pay property taxes to the self chosenites. The chosenites could just print the paper instead, but enjoy slaving non-chosenites. Because they are insane. Expect things to get worse. Much worse.
Detroit bitchez!
It seems to me that Detroit has a great future.
Raising sheep, alfalfa, cotton, and rice in a desert, and wonder why they are going broke?
You obviously haven't actually been to California. The Central Valley has not been a desert in many, many decades.
Somebody give this news to american kids

With the price of corn falling from $7.00 to $3.50 a bushel you would think that the cost of food would have fallen by now... although I see the price of sawdus... errr... monocrystaline cellulose has gone up due to increased demand.
I think I'm gong to set up shop as a "foood scientist" . I figure that since sawdust is promoted for increasing fiber why not find a patentable way to incorporate even cheaper dirt into our foods by promoting it's mineral content...

I raise both corn and soybeans. Right now we're 40% under the COP. Remember all that ethanol and burning food for fuel was causing our food prices to go to the moon. Now, ,we take a 60% haircut on price to commercials, and price of end user goods still going up or being downsized in the package. Welcome to the world of Ass Reaming by Lord Blankfein, Jamie dimon and the USDA.
Cheap food for all you fuckers. NOT! But don't blame me, we ain't gettin any of the money.
I've saw my cousin go through those problems... it was always heartbreaking. The real money is definitely downstream in the argiculture business. Wheat at $5.00 for a sixty-three pound bushel that makes 60 loaves comes out to less than nine cents for a loaf of bread. Friends of mine that grow apples were getting less than 20 cents a pound this year.
You have to be partially insane these days to farm but when everything goes right... on the occassional year... the fall harvest is an awesome experience...
All the farmers I know are on farmer welfare ( subsidies).
Bummer, I love the smell of wet hay.
Re: "Calif has plenty of water...in swimming pools, etc."
Ban on filling swimming pools hits parched California (21-Aug)
To those who feel the itch to parrot 'global warming' propaganda: please STFU. This is ZH, not some Agenda 21 cesspit.
Get used to water, says climatologist (17-Oct)
"...The cool phase of the [Madden Julian Oscillation] is being followed by back-to-back warm phases, which are expected to reinvigorate the El Nino and create El Nino conditions this winter. It should bring relief to the California drought and lead to a warm and dry winter for the Canadian Prairies as well as stronger chinooks. The effects could last until spring if the El Nino is strong enough, which would help reduce the amount of rainfall that hits the eastern Prairies. However, it will provide only a temporary one-year relief, and then growers will be back in the wet pattern for decades."
Lore, you're a typical conservative ZH idiot. You addled-brained, science illiterate, short-term thinking, right wing fascists get it wrong every time! Whenever I come to ZH I have to wade through the usual half-educated denialists who get their views from Faux News. ZH itself tends to pander to the motoring public, pretending there is no solution to global warming and extending BAU madness when the solution is obvious. What needs to be hammered home is that if we don't want everything to get worse exponentially, and in a non-linear manner, as about 30 self-reinforcing positive feedbacks —like permafrost methane— come into play, we need to terminate industrial civilization, because it is the root cause of every problem we have, and everything is going to get very much worse if it is not terminated. Industrial civilization is based on the most unsustainable, disastrous and fanatical political ideology ever devised — infinite growth on a finite planet, immediate gratification at any cost and corporate profits above life. The harsh reality is that you can either have another decade (at most) of hedonistic happy motoring excess, and pointless wealth accumulation (which is on borrowed time due to oil depletion anyway) or a livable planet in 50 years time. So what's it gonna be, chumps?
Ever notice how Agenda 21 attracts some of the angriest people? I've had long conversations with deep-programmed militants like this guy, and sure as guns, it always turns out that they're channeling some kind of chip on their shoulder, usually related to child abuse or similar trauma. Agenda 21 provides 'em with a sense of community and self-importance and a cause. Give full credit to its technocratic authors for drawing on the best tools of past generations of religious evangelists.
Dude, I have done the reading and cut through the bullshit. It's time you did the same. You have been cheated and misled, and your lies are consuming you. In time, you'll understand that this is another con foisted by the same kind of psychopaths who fucked you in other parts of your life. YOU are as much a part of their 'Problematique' as the rest of us. I sincerely wish you the best and hope you find peace. Rgds
What is Agenda 21? I think you have me confused with someone else.
You say you have done the reading, but I'm a PhD in a field very closely related to climate science, not an armchair expert with an ideological axe to grind. You're one of those "You can prise my ignition keys from my globally warmed dead hand" types, I know them well. No argument can penetrate their skulls. Next you'll be telling us that 99% of climate scientists have contrived an environmental crisis but were exposed by a plucky band of billionaires and oil companies.
Just remember, Lore, that when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It’s only painful & difficult for others. The same applies when you are stupid.
In between its climate change skeptics, its creationists and the general hostility American culture displays even towards its own intellectuals, I can only offer you my sympathies. Much about your country can only be described as surreal.
You couldn't carry Bjorn Lomborg's jockstrap...
Pinch certainly doesn't write like a PhD. Maybe he got it online?
You're falsely equating obtaining a PhD with possessing an appropriate understanding of the foundation of the English language and its grammatical nuances. If you haven't learned how to read and write English by the time you're 12 years old, you won't learn anything extra in high school or college/university.

"I'm a PhD in a field very closely related to climate science, not an armchair expert with an ideological axe to grind."
Good one. Thanks for the morning laugh.
'very closely related' to that imbecile most likely means, Black Women's Studies. Prolly why the sum total of his argument was ad hom foaming at the mouth.
Hey everyone it's a PhD! No wonder you're pissed, you probably have $200K in outstanding student loans and work at McDonalds while living in your parent's basement.
With a Limbaugh avatar no less. Is there a two drink minimum in this place?
The world has survived worse then some Co2 and will survive worse in the future. So really this is just about ego and people skills, of which people have an abundance of the former and not so much of the latter.
The rock record is incomplete but what it tells me is writen in stone.
"What is Agenda 21?"
Sorry dude, you just outed yourself as 'addled-brained, science illiterate, short-term thinking, left wing fascists'.
And Oh BTW, apparently you're addle-brained and politics illiterate because you dont know who progressives are. You know, the people that have swallowed your democrat party whole. They are fascists you moron.
Your avatar tells us everything we need to know about your grasp on what is truth. I bet you can't provide any evidence to indicate why you label that man a Nazi.
What is Agenda 21? I think you have me confused with someone else.
You say you have done the reading, but I'm a PhD in a field very closely related to climate science, not an armchair expert with an ideological axe to grind. I call LIAR. Noone could have a "PhD in a field very closely related to climate science" and never have heard of Agenda 21. Plucky bunch of horseshit is this fellow. Fucking trolls.
"we need to terminate industrial civilization," typed the idiot on his computer.
The "almost climate" Phd who has never heard of Agenda 21... pinky swear.
Pinch Aside from the insults, there's a lot of truth there. Amazing how industrialization has devastated the planet in just several hundred years. Desertification and species extinction/diversification are huge problems on a global scale. Maybe in time we can change the name of our planet to Arrakis.
Ha.
Desertification and species extinction has never occurred before. We, the proud, the few, the arrogant.
Industrial civilization is based on the most unsustainable, disastrous and fanatical political ideology ever devised — infinite growth on a finite planet, immediate gratification at any cost and corporate profits above life.
Au contraire, because 'industrial civilisation' makes production more efficient, it - in effect - circumvents the 'infinite growth on a finite planet' problem. Humanity would already be facing mass famines were it not for industry... which in turn relies on capitalism to function well (not that we haven't seen declining amounts of that since 1913).
So whatever your 'Piled Higher & Deeper' was in, it certainly wasn't economics... or anything that allowed you to think outside the box the Establishment got you to model your brain on.
Putting Economics PhD on a pedestal and "outside the box." Comedian.
Pinch seems young, with the confidence of innocence. Your box metaphor might help, assuming he ever comes back to read these responses. In the spirit of offering a hand to a fellow human being along the road, here's a cute little song that offers perspective:
Little Boxes - Malvina Reynolds (c/o YouTube)
You're just another little box with a program. In your case, the tickytack happens to be "Green" (colour of the Knights of Lazarus).
LOOK DEEPER. FIND THE SOURCE OF THE CON. IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME.
Imagine him accusing me of "fascism" and watching Fox News.
Hahaha
"Humanity would already be facing mass famines were it not for industry..."
Sounds like kicking the can to me.
Maybe everyone growing corn and beans might not be the best idea?
Corn and soybeans are one of the best rotations... but if you mean farmers getting together to control the production and price of agricultural commodities... like OPEC does with oil... and bankers do with credit creation.... well that would be communism and then we would have to turn you into fertilizer.
Maybe everyone growing corn and beans might not be the best idea?
You are welcome to come and inspect my garden... face up.
I'm sorry you cats are having a rough time of it. Obviously WE are paying for those 'ethenol plants'. You too, of course.
I went and looked at /xc and see it has been in a 'short' trend. Price has broken the short trend of 08/18 to 10/01 H/L scale, by going above the 61.8% of that H/L. The 333.57 area must now hold. It has a target of 367.84 if it holds.
It did 'break intermediate short' trend on the 14th. Always a pullback after a trend break,,,which allows you to go the other way. Which is now long...stop is under 333.57. Doesn't have to go all the way to 333...fwiw.
One step at a time...if 341.07/61.8% fails, then 333.57 /bigger 61.8% has to hold for this new uptrend to remain 'in bizness'... All longs are off if goes lower than 333.57....333.50, or so. "They" might buy it at this dbl bottom tho of 345...I'm a bit unsure but I DO know that 333.57 is the Stop on any long , or else it goes back into a short.
I haven't considered the 61.8% movement in quite a while. In the meantime, I've gained a more comprehensive understanding of the source of that ratio--called the Divine Proportion--which is calculated by the limit of the ratio between the digits (as you approach infinity) of the Fibonacci Sequence (0..1..1..3..5..8..13..21..34...).
The reason a chart makes a 61.8% movement is because that's just how reality works.
Thank you for that insight.
I am Chumbawamba.

You speaken da troof, brother.
It is absolutely beyond me why people refuse to see what is in front of their noses and fail to digest a veritable plethora of publicly available factual information.
Mrs K and I even observed a plane over our little area spraying an oddly colored powder it looked like. We found the plane to be NASA related and had left Palmdale coming north in a weaving back and forth distinct spray pattern having stopped off first at Edwards AFB.
The"spray" kept expanding and within several hours had become a blanket overcast.
Later, some very suspicious holes opened in the clouds, the overcast having a become circular isolated swirl pattern, which coincided with off the charts HAARP readings.
Nothing to see here, move along.
And PS, you cannot get Ebola from food, water or eating. Or licking a corpse and stuffing an infected fruit bat up your bung.
All's well that ends.
Fukushima radioactive contamination is rapidly warming North Pacific seawater. In March 2014 there was something very unusual occurring in the Northeast (NE) Pacific that might have substantial consequences for biota in the Gulf of Alaska and southward into the subtropics… we see SST departures of 4.5 standard deviations… The anomaly field covers a large region of the N.E. Pacific… The authors of this article have never seen [such] deviations… Something as extraordinary as a 4.5-sigma deviation requires corroboration… An increase of 4.5-sigma in sea surface temperatures is about one-fifth the probability ofbeing dealt a straight flush in five-card poker, and twice the probability of being dealt a royal flush. In other words, it is wildly improbable that it is a result of a natural process. Radionuclides give off heat by a process of radioactive decay. This is the reason that spent fuel rods have to be submerged in water, to keep them cool, so they don’t melt down. According to Arnie Gundersen of Fairewinds Associates:
Radioactive byproducts produce heat. During the normal operation of a nuclear reactor, there is an accumulation of many man-made radioactive materials such as iodine-131, cesium-137, strontium-90, plutonium-239, and many others. These radioactive byproducts continue to produce a lot of heat, even after the reactor is shut down, because radioactivity cannot be stopped. This unstoppable heat is called “decay heat.” This decay heat occurs whether the radionuclides are in a reactor, in a spent fuel pool, or leaked into the sea. So it stands to reason that ocean temperatures would be extraordinarily high.
Warm heights mean that the air is sinking, and little or no precipitation forms, and the surface air temperature is warm. Cold heights mean higher precipitation and cold surface temperatures. Air moves clockwise around the ridge, pushing north into the Arctic, where it pushes down cold air from these regions to the eastern US. And the ridge in the west has caused drought conditions in California: The contaminated water will not move out for many years, but decay heat release will continue, so look for Pacific sea surface temperatures to keep increasing, and the drought to continue.
http://optimalprediction.com/wp/fukushima-radioactive-contamination-is-r...
A few holes in your argument connecting the above average ocean temps right now with the drought.
Our dryest years occured during the most recent La Nina (Winters 11-12, 12-13, 13-14) and this was associated with cooler than normal ocean surface temps in the NE Pacific due to a strong high pressure cell centered west-wnw off of California. This high pressure cell diverted the normal storm track (extra tropical storms that track offshore Japan and then to the Kuril islands and into the Gulf of Alaska) further north, pushing the storms into the artic then back down over the US east of the Rockies creating the "Polar Vortex". Now these high pressure cells rotate clockwise in the northern hemisphere, so they drive north winds on their Eastern side, which coincided with the US Pacific coastline creating upwelling in that area bring colder waters up from below.
69.5 degrees today in Pacific Northwest. Tomatoes were turning red. Never had red tomatoes in October before! They may be fucking radioactive but they still taste yummy ;)
I saw a similar chem trail pattern here in Phoenix on Thursday. Sunny day with no cloulds. By 10 AM trails everywhere. By 4 PM cloud cover over most of the sky. I am not saying I don't mind the shade here in hell. However I fear what this means for us when we know those in control can even control the weather.
Funny thing is, here in my area of the midwest in IA we have not had shit for chemtrailing this year, at least little compared to normal. We had recored flooding this spring and summer in certain areas, a lot of rain and green lawns in Oct with folks still mowing them due to growth......I have never had this before to this extent.
And crop yields? Bumper crops again for many this year, even with the piss poor weather we had for weeks at a time. I've been helping one large farmer harvest after hours and on weekends. He is not complaining one bit...and this guy spends on average 5 g's on diesel fuel per day.

Is that Gilligan rowing the boat in that homo-erotic scene? I always figured he was a poof.
I spent 30 years in Fresno...so I understand the valley's geography pretty well. Yes, the Valley is a desert by some definitions of desert. It doesn't get a lot of rain and never did. But we built over 100 large dams along the Sierra's and that changed the Valley. Controlled water supply from snow melt is an incredible engineering feat. That turned the Valley green. It could never ever rain there and the farmers wouldn't care as long as the rivers, creeks, canals, etc...stayed full. And for most of the 30 years I lived there...they did. Sure, in "drought" years they would start the water flowing out of the dams later, and shut it off earlier. The last few years....it's just worse.
You can go hiking in the Sierra'a in late August and if you're high enough you can still run into snow along rock walls that don't get sun. It's this snow melt that the farmers live off, and the US has depended on.
...as for me, I hope they get a great snow pack this winter.
“If you want to keep your drought, you can keep your drought.”
You're right, but Edison, Florence, Wishon, Courtright, Huntington are all super low, with Edison being outright dry. I spend half the summer hiking up there every year and this is the lowest I've ever seen them, scary shit.
If we don't get a wet winter, it's going to get very ugly, very quickly.
I agree, Anti. I've lived in California since '79. Most people don't understand the history of the San Joaquin and Sacramento valleys. The southern San Joaquin was, depending on the time of year, either a lake (Tulare Lake), or an alkali flat. This is not California's first drought nor its last. William Brewer documented one in the early 1860's whilst creating the first geological survey of the new state. His book, Up and Down California is a great read about what the state looked like back them. His description of the upper San Joaquin in drought is heart-wrenching. Let's hope and pray that this winter is a drencher. California is the bread basket to the world.
Exactly, exactly. That area is going to be dry for the next few decades at least. They better look at massive desalinization plants real soon.
desalinization isn't feasible, because neither you, or I, will pay $4 for an orange. The next step will be controlled rationing. That will be a political determination of winners and losers...just like the FED does with banking....and unfortunately, the most politically powerful lobbies in Ca. will get the water, the rest will get screwed. LA will win that battle. EJ Gallo will win.
For those who haven't been there...I can tell you, the Ag industry in this area is incredible. You'd just can't imagine who would ever eat all the carrots, peaches, cantalopes, cherries, oranges, strawberries, apricots, walnuts, almonds, onions, and on and on......the answer....the WORLD.
Buck -> I agree. San Diego built a desalination plant producing 53-59 million gallons a day, and cost is around 45 dollars a year on my property tax. I consider it a bargain. I have a well, but a county water blend produces better tasting citrus. See my comment below.
The lack of rainfall is primarily due to a weak cycle of the sun. Solar energy evaporates surface water to create clouds and then rain. This is grammar school science, known as a weak solar cycle or grand minimum.
I used to live in NYC and escaped after 9-11 to California bought 11 acres near San Diego and have "hobby" citrus groves + a well and turbine. San Diego recently built a desalination plant that produces 53 million gallons of fresh water a day for that county. The central valley is arid but not desert, it has extemely fertile land with high ag. output potential had the CA aquduct not been shut off or had the NAWAPA project been completed in the 60's. The area should be providing ample food for 3/4 of the US today even in a grand minimum cycle.
http://carlsbaddesal.com/
Bottom line - if we were not off building weapons and funding wars to support our fiat fed res notes, we might be in position to support more water projects that yeild quality food output.
More lucrative to bribe a corrupt administration and trade paper "assets" than to invest in long-term infrastructure. Forrward!
The Sacramento Bee newspaper did a story yesterday on desalinization plants in California.
There isn't a big push for more desalinization plants because of the high cost of electricity to operate them. Electricity is very expensive in California. One recent study predicts the cost of electricity in California alone could jump 47% over the next 16 years, in part because of the state's shift toward more expensive renewable energy. The renewable power costs as much as twice the price of electricity from new gas-fired power plants.
A major environmental concern is discharge water. Most desalination plants take in two times more seawater than the fresh water they produce. To produce 50 million gallons per day of fresh water, Carlsbad will draw in 100 million gallons of seawater. The difference is returned to the ocean as discharge water, but with its salinity doubled. The discharge water is so salty that it doesn’t dissolve in the ocean resulting in dead zones.

It's not BW, that's what it looks like when it gets that dry.

If it looks too good and is “production like” and you’re falling for it – things are going as planned ….

If you want the truth about right to travel holler at me. Bottom line it doesn't apply when you're in a state-registered vehicle.
Please don't keep us guessing .... sharing is caring. (as my daughter says)
That's one part. The other is the driver's license you carry, which--in their purview--is your contracting away your right to travel in exchange for the privilege of driving. The contract is the Vehicle Code. Your license is evidence of that contract, and when you present it to a police officer upon demand you are admitting you are beholden to the contract.
Roughly.

Chumba nailed it. Epic drought you say? You could of fooled me. Everyday I go out I see sprinklers going like crazy, people washing cars...shit people washing there driveways!!! Like most things in life people will only get serious when the shit truly hits the fan, or in this case when the well runs dry.
I do too! But that's only because the "developers & politicians" have complete control of shit, property taxes and sales taxes are the two holy grails in CA!
I've sat and personally listened to these fucks say, "we have to give businesses unlimited use of water for landscaping or they'll leave and take those jobs with them"!!
It's why I'm 100% positive CA is heading for an "over the cliff" moment, nobody will turn this around slowly, it's "god makes it rain" or this bitch is over in CA, and very soon too!
Farmers / ranchers paying city water rates to irrigate hundreds of acres and water hundreds of livestock would be bankrupt in a day.
Sure wash your car hose down your drive, but large volume low cost water farmers/ranchers need is what they're out of.

I know what is being planned. Fix it if I am wrong.
The big plan is to take water out of Canada. But they have to starve everyone first. Big comapnies are establishing footholds into "water rights" here in BC by use of the Hydro "call for alternate suppliers"
So here is the deal I see so far.....GE has gotten rights to one of the most pristine areas on the BC Coast in order to build a hydro-electric production facility. Good luck. It is about contolling the water.
Water is the next gold and oil combined and large companies are moving into Canada under the guise of other projects. But is is all about water.
Yes. And on a parallel level this a spiritual battle. Consider that our bodies are made up of 60% water. We are mostly self-relocating liquid. You control the water, you control the human essence.
They are not content to just control us; they have our bodies, but now they want our souls.
I am Chumbawamba.

Dustbowl for sure if they're ripping out all the trees and bushes.
Why the hell did they do this video on Black and White? Colour information would be useful here - there's no way to see how green/brown the plants are.
You need to test out the new Apple Video Editing settings. That's more important.
Trouble is, there's not a damn thing natural about it.
Got chemtrails?

That's for Goddam sure! If any of the idiots here had ever set foot outside of Missouri or Oaklahomo, they would know that 99% of California's "farms" (Fortune 100 corporations) are all automated...
Only strawberries are "picked" by hand anymore....
Yes, good-ole boy, white-only, heavy equipment operators is ALL you see....spraying chemical after chemical, after chemical in big fucking "white" plastic tank trailers, sloshing the liquid Monsanto death that will wind up in your Missouri and Oaklahomo chicken wings!!!
Bon-fucking-appetit!!!!
Yeah, but Monsanto's got more electrolytes.
"Yes, good-ole boy, white-only, heavy equipment operators is ALL you see..."

"Got chemtrails?"
We sure do. Up here in NorCal it has been a bad summer for them, about 4 or 5 days out of seven they're spraying, especially heavy when a front is moving in - I've counted 20 passes before noon some days. The trails seem to disperse real clouds coming in from the coast; wonder if it's some kind of electric charge interaction between aluminum and the clouds. I guess the silver lining is less Fuku radiation raining out on the crops we can still grow. I miss the 70's something powerful at times. The world today, I just don't even....
I've watched this for years now. They spray EVERYday with an occasional Sunday off. I can't tell you how many people dismiss spraying and air traffic as normal. I've taken photos of this crap slowly dispersing downward and from a distance it looks like rainfall... but it's not. We've had rain about 4 times this year. NO tornados. Drought for flyover country is next. It's the aquifer they're after. That drought in Cali is as engineered as target vaccines. Remember the Ebola scientist that made the population culling joke? Most did not look at the screen behind him. It was the largest aquifer in the country. I had a discussion with a 90yr old WW2 fighter pilot that lived thru being shot down. He's aware of the corruption in gubmnt, but adamant about them being "contrails". Also a friend VN vet that dismisses this, says it disperses far away. I finally couldn't take it anymore and told him for someone with CLL from agent orange the irony was so thick I'm really gobsmacked at his perspective. Watch nature & the leaves on trees dessicate. Flocks of birds don't just drop out of the sky for no reason. The bird population here is thinning drastically. I've watched a squirrel hop up on the bird bath like he's got dementia. Twice I've watched him as though he wants a drink yet he goes in circles around the edge of the bird bath NEVER taking a drink. There's something bad, bad wrong. Look at the greyness of the sky, the underbelly of the clouds are tinged dark grey as though it were severe weather rolling in.
Pharma, MonSatan, Chemtrails to make us sick.
Pricing water & power out of our reach to make us compliant.
Even ZB appears a bit nervous due to the awakening of the plebes from the webs.

Neighbor's gf is well read on the geoengineering scam but her bf thinks it's all contrails. Took him aside one day of heavy spraying and pointed out a regular jet flight with the contrail disappearing behind the plane at the same time another jet, at what looke like the same altitude, was leaving a persistent horizon-to-horizon trail. Explained a little about atmospheric conditions at that altitude & how hot water vapor in jet exhaust dissipates in the cold dry air rapidly, asked if he could see the difference... he said but why would they be causing a drought? Told him we don't know yet, but there's lot's of theories & information & misinformation around if he wants a mental workout.
Not enough people look up. I've been a landscape photographer since I got my first camera around age 8, and have always loved watching the sky & the cllouds. Chemtrails are obviously not clouds, even after they've spread out, first into the horsetaill formations, then the pervasive white haze.
If people dinged me for the electric charge musing, here's some useful links to learn more about how the weather actually works:
http://www.thunderbolts.info/tpod/2007/arch07/071217electricclouds.htm
http://www.thunderbolts.info/tpod/2004/arch/040917electric-weather.htm
My advice is to never stop learning.
I had never seen "horstail formations" until a pro-photog friend showed me some from pics snapped in Marfa, TX.
So they are not natural either then?
It's kind of like what you said about the trails looking like they were raining, but it isn't rain. If you have the time, note a trail being laid down, then check on it every 30 minutes as it spreads out. I think it dependson wind conditions, and of course we can't know that they're always spraying the same mix.
Cirriform clouds can have a similar appearance, but they don't generally start out as a trail and dissipate within an hour.
dupe
how does one become a geo-engineering pilot?
Where do you live?? This is ridiculous
My dad pointed out his pine trees that he planted in the desert. The pines were doing very well, roots had found moisture and the trees got to over sixty feet high.
We had a particularly biting freeze a couple years ago, and he watched a fleet of fifty planes fly over the area in a single line formation. I live about twenty miles away and saw the same formation. They sprayed starting about forty miles east of me. You could see the start like a comb. They flew over me, then towards him.
I didn't get to see the entire show, but after a couple hours I went outside and those fifty lines were beginning to drop lower and merge together.
He says that he had powder rain down on him. And those pines all turned brown on the upwind side. Stayed brown for about five or six years.
Hobo,
A bit of information that helped me understand some of the possibilities was that by changing the mix and structure of what they spray they can cause different reactions. By using nano size particles when they spray they can prevent the moisture in the clouds from forming droplets. The nano size causes the moisture to disperse, clouds break up and the moisture moves with the winds to another region of the country.
By using larger particles in another region of the country they can cause moisture to gather on these particles and form rain droplets.
How HAARP figures in is another factor, one which confuses me for the most part. Other than the use of it to heat the upper atmosphere.
What scares me even more is what I have observed several times. When traveling in vast, very low populated regions there was almost no spraying, but multiple times I observed planes spray when they passed over the only little town for 90 miles and then stop after they passed. Then when driving into the populated corridor where the people all were (several hours drive) they were spraying like crazy. If all the spraying is about moisture then why spray the people and not the open lands?
+1 well the armed forces here put out a paper at least a decade ago that they envisioned total weather control by 2025. That doesn't mean they "build a machine" as in so many scifi stories, and press the "ON" button in 2025. Experimental trials, data collection, trial & error, unintended consequences, etc.... all part of such an especially ambitious project, which they probably intend to be working well before 2025. Testing it on your own civilian population is a time-honored tradition - another country might see it as an act of war if used as a testing ground.
The HAARP thing: it's well documented and openly admitted that it functions as an Ionosphere heater - this causes the Ionospheric region targeted to bulge a couple hundred kilometers upwards into space. What isn't often talked about is the Newtonian "equal and opposite reaction" of forcing high and dry, cold air downward. Apparently this can be used to weaken or even steer hurricanes. There's also evidence that ionospheric heating is related to earthquake activity. See this from MIT http://www.technologyreview.com/view/424033/atmosphere-above-japan-heate...

As far as spraying over population centers, I don't know. Lots of noise in the data, but I did see an article asserting that chemtrails block sunlight wavelengths that we need to synthesize Vitamin D. http://aircrap.org/world-doing-vitamin-deception-deficiency/339326/
Rather a lot to get your head around. Red pill or blue pill?
This disaster was government made. Even before the drought, the decision was made to dump 200 billion gallons of water (that we did have) which flowed directly into the Pacific Ocean to save the delta smelt. When there was plenty of water, the Bureau of Reclamation only guaranteed delivery of 45 percent of the California Central Valley’s contracted water supply south of the Delta.
http://mcclintock.house.gov/2011/01/water-water-everywhereexcept-for-cal...
I'm sure there are quite a lot of republicans running fisheries in the delta ... I'm sure they cheered the water allocation staying put (even if they don't give a damn about the smelt). There are more stakeholders here than just farmers and tree huggers.
The disaster is when Man violates the laws of Math, Nature and Common Sense.
Too many people and waaaay too many Sheeple exhausting Nature's Bounty, then shitting in it.
In other words: God's Law. But call it that and the spiritually blind won't see it.
I am Chumbawamba.
You mean this law?
Genesis 1:28
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
no worries Republicans. let's spend another trillion in Iraq, Afghan, Libya & Syria. Heck,
add another trillion cuz there's always Iran.
I didn't know Obola is a Republican now, but I'm sure money can make it rain in California. Perhaps the water shortage is due to the influx of 20 million illegals the past 2 decades. No surprise coming from the "It's always somebody else's fault" president and his followers
Are you suggesting that Americans would actually work on those farms?
If wages hadn't been repressed due to decades of loose immigration/deportation policy, farm laborer pay might be better than welfare.
"decades of loose immigration/deportation policy"
No matter what the immigration policy is...
It is the FUCKING EMPLOYERS who is the sell out this country...
If they didn't HIRE ILLEGALS....ILLEGALS wouldn't be here!!!
They SOLD OUT all manufacturing to Asia, all Real Estate to Asia and the Saudis...
...and now Republican Governors are literally selling "PUBLIC" infrastructure that US TAX PAYERS PAID FOR...
…to Saudi and Chinese PRIVATE OWNERS to "manage"….
…the next "TOLL FREEWAY" you come across, kiss your worthless USDs as you hand them to the fat Saudi Monarchy and Chinese who will be employing you soon.
Canadians accounted for 23 per cent of U.S. sales to foreigners in the realtors’ 2013 survey, up from just 10 per cent in 2007. That growth came as Mexico’s share fell from 13 per cent to 8 per cent, and the United Kingdom’s share dropped from 12 per cent to 5 per cent. China, meanwhile, rose from 5 per cent of sales to 12 per cent.
Now don't be dissin' us Canadians......we try to blend in.
It's about time we secured that northern border.
