Hedge Funds Have Worst Week Since 2011: Here Are The Best And Worst Performers In October And 2014
First, the bad news: Last week was the worst week for hedge funds since 2011.
Then the good: hedge funds dropped by less than half what the decline in the broader market was, largely because many hedge funds still haven't been fully shaken out of their shorts, despite 6 years of relentless central planning seeking to crush all bears
Specifically, as BofA reveals, the diversified hedge fund index was down 2.4% for the week ending Oct 15, while S&P500 was down 5.4% on a price returns basis. CTA advisors were at the top, up 0.85% while Event Driven funds were down 4.2%.

Yes we can?
I see Pershing Square doing well. So Ackman is back on top eh?
Best performing hedge fund YTD = Tulip Trend Fund.
Some signs are so obvious no one sees them.
It takes some serious balls to put a name like that on your fund.
Call it....Stupid Fund....or something like that
Talking of hedge funds, hows Eclectica Asset Management doing?
It's on the last chart: -6.35% YTD

I don't see the Fed listed in there.
Look for their trading name: S&P 500.
I can't believe someone called their fund the Tulip Trend Fund. That's like making a company called South Sea Capital.
They chase momentum - and it seems to be working for them.
Chase, what matters.

So I wonder if Tylers or their minions have time to delve into say a few of the top and a afew of the worst performing hedge funds, and look to calculate true, or unfucked-with - weighted average maturity.
The hunch: the funds whih did best have shortest maturity [and probably shortest average duration].
The worst will have longest actual maturity, and the biggest discrepancy between the maturity they report and the true figure, potentially because of the use of interest rate reset dates as maturity dates - not illegal, still, but complete horseshit, of course.
