Chicago Hospitals Monitoring 2 Sick Passengers From Liberia, CDC Not Testing For Ebola

Tyler Durden's picture

Just when you thought it was safe to BTF-Ebola-Is-Fixed-Dip... ABC7 Chicago reports, two unrelated passengers (one child - vomiting, no fever; one adult - nausea, diarrhea, no fever) originating from Liberia became ill en route to O'Hare International Airport. The two patients are being monitored in isolation at The University of Chicago Medical Center and Rush University Medical Center but based on the latest reports and risk exposures (from the Chicago Ebola Resource Network), the CDC has determined not to test them for Ebola... (perhaps they are waiting for Ron Klain to start work tomorrow to give them the go-ahead).

“City and hospital officials are working closely with the CDC to continue monitoring,” officials noted.

I think I am getting off the fence soon regarding Ebola.

There are two thoughts (generalizations) in my mind:

  1. This is a bio-engineered event
  2. This is a natural event

Scenario one is pretty easy; Ebola screens past all the brains at the engineering lab (ain't stupid!) as a good weapon to achieve a goal. That goal is pretty nebulous at this point. Hate on whoever you want, we just don't know what they are trying to do. Maybe it is money (probably not - at least not as a primary goal). Maybe it is clearing the population (a.k.a. the Africa Dresden fire bombings to save the world) for resource extraction. Or maybe I just ain't smart or creative and I really don't know why they did it.

If it is natural, I think the authorities are pretty flat on their feet at this point. I am discounting this option daily. Authorities aren't stupid (in the self preservation sense). Think like a farmer with 1000 head of cattle. If your cattle start puking blood and bleeding via the eyes and anus, you freak out. Cattle is your lively hood. Same for politicians; we are tax donkeys. We don't donkey, they got no tax. Same thing. So the lack of concern, the lack of "freaking out" if you will, is a poker tell.

Think about it; why aren't the self absorbed ass hats in DC freaked out they might bleed out their ass (or eyes)? No one seems to care. Just dog and pony as normal.

I just can't see how this isn't a bio-engineered bug that hates on those who live near open sewers and get all touchy with the dead.

Sound African?

Get yourself a debt-map. There is one population center that isn't leveraged past the legal age ...

A'yup.

Personally, I am on the "preservation of life" train. However, if my thesis, as presented, is right, there will be a lot more dead and the survivors will get plowed under. Everyone wants to be balls deep in Africa at this point (and the oil fields in MENA - but that is old hat).

I didn't vote for it. I don't like it. In fact, I am probably on a list trying to even speak about it (that the idea it is possible).

Want my opinion?

I wish the US would bring home all our troops, qualify the best to defend our southern border, and attempt to empower our people to lead in business, manufacturing, engineering, and trade again through strength of property rights.

Hear me hippies? Fuck your EPA! Let me sue the bastard that polluted my land, despite your government allowance. Oh, yeah. Sucks to be a liberal, govy savin' the planet douche bag doesn't it. Do you realize that if you had real property rights, the EPA couldn't exclude your precious fracking fluids from legal purvey? You could, each and every one of you, nail the fuckers to the wall like a thousand sparrows in a Hitchcock flick.

Property rights and honest money.

Sorry, just wanted to vent. I probably missed your point at issue. Thanks for listening.

It will be a series of mere monitoring, rather than confirmed cases, until after the midterm elections the first week of November, but this passenger in Newark from Brussels was taken to New Jersey hospital as they were "apparently identified through an enhanced medical screening as possibly showing symptoms of Ebola," according to ABC NEWS Afilliate KOLO in New Jersey:

http://www.kolotv.com/home/headlines/ABC-News-Passenger-on-United-Flight...

Passenger on United Flight to NJ Taken to Hospital for Ebola Screening

Updated: Tue 10:06 PM, Oct 21, 2014

"NEWARK, NJ -- ABC News is reporting that a passenger on a United Airlines flight into Newark, New Jersey was immediately taken to hospital for Ebola screening.

The passenger was on board United flight 998 from Brussels. The passenger was apparently identified through an enhanced medical screening as possibly showing symptoms of Ebola. The passenger was immediately taken by ambulance to a hospital."

"...identified through an enhanced medical screening" - what exactly does that entail?

Regardless, no more confirmed cases until after the midterms. It will be a temporary reprieve miracle. Go vote!

Cooler (below 65F) and drier air believed to aid potential for Ebola aerosol transmission which warm, moist air in much of Africa prevents.

What's the temp in Chicago these days?

"Of the six [animal care workers], five had no known history of parenteral or trauma-induced exposure to Ebola virus, which suggested the possibility of aerosol transmission...

...It is possible that the quantity and distribution of virus with most patients' respiratory tracts may have been below the level needed to establish  effective aerosol transmission. ...

...As previously stated, aerosol spread was implicated in the spread of disease among the monkeys at Reston and may have occurred between monkeys and animal handlers who were in close contact with the infected monkeys. "

Sir, I often refrain from using the word "ignorant" when referring to other people. It isn't polite and is often uncalled for in polite company. However, in this case, comparing a nuclear disaster, with all the man made engineering and science that goes into to CREATING the situation ... to ... the most basic (non)living natural born organism on the plant ... well, that sir, is ignorant.

I don't think my submission, for the definition of ignorant, will make it past Wiki's editors, but my point is true.

There may be another possibility. You are correct that their lack of "freaking out" is a "tell". I will grant you that.

Just what it may be telling is the question at hand. I have played many hands of poker and know that a pair of balls, at times, beats anything.

So what I am reading about what they are holding in their hand, like, really close to vest, you know (?),is that they are truly scared shitless and they are BLUFFING.

You must understand that it is about LEGITAMACY. Is the US Government legitamate? Because if the US Government is not legitamate then they have no authority to govern. They lose their power. And they do not want to lose that power. Trust me that they do not want to lose that power. (There are too many lamp posts and an abundance of rope.)  They will do ANYTHING*** NECESSARY to maintain power.

And just what is it that these Government Officials have to have in order to maintain that legitamacy? They must have the CONFIDENCE of those whom are ruled over in order to maintain their legitamacy. Without the coopereration and the complicity of the Tax Donkeys, as you term it, they have absolutely no power whatsoever.

And if those Tax Donkeys lose CONFIDENCE in their Government then they are going to be much less likely to be complicit or cooperative.

So if the Govenment Official proclaims that they have LOST CONTROL OF A CRISIS, well, that will DIMINISH THAT CONFIDENCE QUITE A BIT. The Government LOSES POLITICAL CAPITAL in that case.

The EROSION of CONFIDENCE in the Government leads to the people, the Tax Donkeys, the RULED OVER, to ask questions about the competency and legitamacy of their Government.

Then this becomes a DIRECT THREAT to the maintainace of POWER.

So anything that will lead to that threat must be QUASHED. You must understand. They do not have any Hand of Poker that can be well played. They hold NOTHING in those cards held close to the vest. SO THEY ARE GENERALLY BLUFFING when they proclaim that they have it all under control...BECAUSE NOTHING CAN BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

So anything that will panic the Tax Herd of Tax Donkeys must be avoided at all costs. And this is accomplished out of the need for EXPIDIENCE.

And THAT..THAT...THAT is how I read their "Tell".

And this is from a crazy old hippie...from the past...who lacks any confidence in Government whatsoever.

***ANYTHING means Murdering, lying, cheating, stealing, frauding, raping, molesting children, fornicating, commiting bestiality, killing their children, sacrificing infants, cutting off their own dick, and EVEN ALLOWING THE INFECTION OF AN ENTIRE POPULATION WITH A VIRULENT DISEASE LIKE EBOLA...ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING IS ON THE TABLE IN REGARDS TO THIS MAINTENANCE OF POWER

Tom, I was a bit confused over the contradictory responses of the press and the government.  The press was yelling "FIRE" while the government was saying "nothing to see here, move along."  The equations haven't changed, but it looks like the press is coming more into line with the government.  That means that if you think that there is some contrarian indicator stuff to pay attention to, you should be paying attention.

Whatever the case, either there will be an ebola outbreak/pandemic/shitfest on US soil or not.  It doesn't matter what people think, unless it is a real threat and the people you're talking about are the ones trying to contain it.  Pay attention, figure out what your tolerances for risk are, and stick to whatever that dictates.

But don't panic.

People as myself are fatigued by the contradictory propaganda spewed by the Main Stream Media.

The legitamacy of the US Government is questioned as the confidence increasingly wanes.

The lack of trust about Government pronouncements, which previously provided the confidence, has all but destroyed any credibility which the Government had. The public's trust has been violated numerous times, so many times.

Currently it is considered that when any Government official opens their mouths it is considered to be taken as a lie by the vast majority of the public. This is EVIDENTIAL as even the untrustworthy polls indicate that the approval ratings of Congress and the President are hovering near or at all time lows.

Furthermore our own anecdotal experiences with the Banks and the Government just add to the lack of trust.

How much money have you had stolen from you? I certainly have had more than enough stolen from me by the Bankers, courts, and lawyers all with Government complicity.

I know that many more people, Millions of other people, have had similar experiences. MILLIONS. Do you get it? They have lost confidence as well as everything which they owned. These are NOT JUST STATISTICS. These are REAL PEOPLE, made up of Flesh and Blood. They had dreams and ambitions which have been subsequently destroyed. You haven't a heart?

You must understand that there are going to be consequences to the massive suffering brought about by your Government.

I know people, personally, who were thrown out on the street due to the malfeasance of the Banks and Government during the last Financial Collapse continuing onward to this very day.

Where do people like me come from? That is really an easy question to answer. It is the Government's behavior, the fraud and malfeasance, that has created people as myself.

The question then is where do people like you come from?

You seem to believe in the benevolence of the Government that steals from others and treats you as the beneficiary. Perhaps you have an interest in maintaing the statusquo. As for the Millions whom were stolen from...They have an interest, not necessarily in revenge, but most are interested in self preservation.

I may be crazy, in fact it's not unlikely. That said, has anyone else noticed that with the fake events, noted above, that we had government officials telling us to be very afraid of (30 round mags, AR15s, pressure cookers, black powder, shoe bombs, underwear bombs, shampoo bombs, box cutters) and they had legislation or policies at the ready to 'fix the problem'. We had congressional 'leaders' telling us all sorts of stupid shit after each of the above (and 9/11).

With this, the government is taking the exact opposite course.

In Bizzaro world, the government creates threats then crafts authoritarian responses, and iin the face of what may be a very real threat they do nothing.

Or it's all fake and I've had one too many red pills.

Cooter - If your thesis is correct (and it could be), just why would "they" make such a bad choice of organism? Why go for something so genetically unstable as an RNA virus??

Biological Warfare was always regarded as "The Poor Nation's Nuke" for good reason - cheap, but the consequences / lack of control were always going to be a difficult problem to crack. Even Chemical Warfare was "safer" for this reason.

So, I'm still not convinced that this is a planned event. I'm sitting on the fence where we have "accidental undetected release" on one side, and "natural development" on the other, with a distinct lean to wards the "Lab Accident" scenario. My position is quite likely to change as further data emerge!!

Agreed, CC raises some good points, however there is still not enough empirical data to knock me off the fence. Part of me says this has Bio-lab written all over it. The thinking part of me says there are too many ancillary data points to make a firm decision one way or another.

No, it's a multi-level marketing scam. You pay all this money up front for product, but -surprise - nobody wants to buy it from you.

I was all excited about racing up to the Sapphire-level until I found out there is no such thing as a jet pack with a 250 mile range.

Now I have a whole damn garage full of ebola that nobody wants. Worse yet, the damn squirrels are starting to chew through the patented Bola-Paks to get at the sweet filling stuff inside. I'll have to powerwash the whole damn garage now! I think I'll wait until next week, though. Allergies are flaring up. I have a massive migrane and my eyes are red as hell and I keep sneezing all over the kids.

Personally, as a dad that raised two sons..one an Eagle Scout who actually has a paying job here in the States and another Son that has built Afghanistan's Communictions and internet over that last twelve fucking years...Obama would only raise a son that would become a thuggish, piece of shit, that deserved to be shot by a random cop or citizen...like Obama.

Ebola PCR must be very expensive. Therefore to preserve valuable resources, clear cut diagnostic algorithms must be put into place. Fortunately in this case the algorithm is quite simple. Was an Elite within 500 feet of the vomiting, ill individual? If yes, then PCR would be performed. If not, PCR is deemed not necessary and reserved to a more appropriate case ( see above).

This can't be because of the cost alone, can it? A study from WHO found that over 85% of Ebola patients didn't present with fever.
