Homeland Security To Restrict West Africa Travelers Entry To America

Tyler Durden's picture

While President Obama has declared his experts say banning travel from the Ebola-stricken West African nations is not the optimal route to stopping the deadly virus' spread in the US, Homeland Security has a different plan as Rep. John Conyers comments:

  • *U.S. SAID TO RESTRICT TRAVELERS FROM EBOLA REGION TO 5 AIRPORTS
  • *U.S. TRAVEL RULE WOULD AFFECT LIBERIA, SIERRA LEONE, GUINEA

Good thing Ron Klain is involved in the decision-making process... oh wait...

  • *TWO PEOPLE BRIEFED ON DHS PLANS COMMENT ON PENDING ANNOUNCEMENT

As Bloomberg reports,

Homeland Security Dept will require airline passengers originating from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea to enter U.S. through airports with Ebola-screening measures, according to statement from Rep. John Conyers.

U.S. enhanced-screening airports: New York’s John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty, Washington Dulles, Chicago O’Hare, Atlanta Hartsfield; about 94% of fliers from affected areas fly through those airports

Conyers is ranking Democrat on House Judiciary Cmte

*  *  *

But in irony of ironies, Rwanda has started screening US and Spanish arrivals fo Ebola too... (as WaPo reports)

According to the U.S. Embassy in Rwanda, the tiny land-locked East African nation has begun screening passengers from the United States and Spain for the deadly virus.

From a note on the embassy's Web site:

Visitors who have been in the United States or Spain during the last 22 days are now required to report their medical condition — regardless of whether they are experiencing symptoms of Ebola — by telephone by dialing 114 between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. for the duration of their visit to Rwanda (if less than 21 days), or for the first 21 days of their visit to Rwanda. Rwandan authorities continue to deny entry to visitors who traveled to Guinea, Liberia, Senegal, or Sierra Leone within the past 22 days.

Yep...but hey, they control transfers.  On the Customs declaration form there is a space for you to fill under "Countries visited prior to enterign the US".  Good luck on your entry if you enter any of the west african countries, Cube, Afganistan. Russia seems to be a flashing red light now again (hey the 80s are tredny again).  This is called self regulation and we know how it worked on the financial system.

Problem with all the screening processes they may put in place .....probably covered already but :

I fly from BKK to LHR, got a few hours to kill before my next flight so I go shopping for a single malt at the duty free, while there I take advantage of the free taste testers of various malts, then a white guy across the display from me sneezes rather crudely, some of his aerosolized spittle enters my airspace unknown to me some hits me in the eyes but the droplets are so small I'd never on my best day feel them. at this time I don't know that he had just arrived from an infected area and has been exposed to ebola or any other number of infectious diseases, hell I don't even know that he has just sprayed me down with whatever bug has infected him a few days prior...

.... in about 8 hours my flight lands at Dulles, I get my form I answer the questions I get my happy ending from TSA and I go on my way kiss my wife and kids when I get home .......... just one of thousands of unwitting potential black swans coming to a neighbourhood near you .........every day

Edit ..... oh yeah that was 10 days ago ...... tick tock tick tock

Q: Which airports to avoid?  A: DFW!

p.s. Also avoid Miami, LAX, SFO if flight originates from Africa.  African transfers via CDG and LHR are suspect also.

pps. I suggest that African flights be re-routed via Diego Garcia or Tel Aviv, as they already have "enhanced screening and security" -- and NuttyNyahoo owes us big time anyway.

One of THE problems with true pandemics is the ability to close borders effectively; thus far the world has been unable to stop one of the deadliest outbreaks in human history it has been raging relatively unabated for more than two century now and though many can see the root cause few have the ability to take the necessary preventive action to prevent the virus from spreading........

Don't worry this meant precisely to quell the fear mongering sheeple, while not actually reducing risk "as advertised" since I don't see anything about replacing CBP & TSA with upper primates who are actually capable of properly screening passengers. At the same it hopefully won't collapse US owned businesses and the local economies or lead a biblical Exodus of ebola infected zombies.

All persons entering the patient room should wear at least:

  • Gloves

  • Eye protection (goggles or face shield)
  • Facemask

Gov. Perry Announces North Texas Ebola Treatment and Infectious Disease Bio Containment Facility 10/21/2014

DALLAS – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the creation of a state-of-the-art Ebola treatment and infectious disease bio containment facility in North Texas. Creation of such facilities was among the first recommendations made by the governor’s recently named Texas Task Force on Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response in order to better protect health care workers and
the public from the spread of pandemic diseases.

US Bio-warfare Laboratories In West Africa Are The Origins Of The Ebola Epidemic.

says American law professor Francis A. Boyle.

Francis A. Boyle is a leading American professor, practitioner and advocate of international law. He was responsible for drafting the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989, the American implementing legislation for the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention. He served on the Board of Directors of Amnesty International (1988-1992), and represented Bosnia - Herzegovina at the World Court. Professor Boyle teaches international law at the University of Illinois, Champaign. He holds a Doctor of Law Magna Cum Laude as well as a Ph.D. in Political Science, both from Harvard University.

He is also the author of "Biowarfare and Terrorism". The book outlines how and why the United States government initiated, sustained and then dramatically expanded an illegal biological arms buildup.

He says also:
In addition, USA government made sure that Liberia, a former colony of  the USA, never became a party to the Biological Weapons Convention, so they were able to do bio – warfare work over there - going back to 1980’s - the USA government, in order to circumvent the Biological Weapons Convention. Likewise, Guinea the third state affected here - and there is an increase now – didn’t even sign the Biological Weapons Convention. So, it seems to me, that the different agencies of the US government have been always there try to circumvent the Biological Weapons Convention and engage bio-warfare work. Indeed, we had one of these two lab bio-warriors admit in the NY Times that they were not over there for the purpose of either screening or treating people. That’s not what these labs are about. These labs are there in my opinion to do bio-warfare work for different agencies of the US government. Indeed, many of them were set up by USAID. And everyone knows that USAID is penetrated all up and down by the CIA and CIA has been involved in bio-warfare work as well.

Ebola and the “Rapid Vaccine Response”. The U.S. Government Filed for Patent on Ebola in 2009

http://www.globalresearch.ca/ebola-and-the-rapid-vaccine-response-the-u-...

"The truth of the matter is that anyone who owns the Ebola gene patent can legally use that patent to shut down all research on Ebola, including research for non-vaccine medical treatments and cures. This is how medical monopolies are reinforced: by monopolizing all the research and all the “cures.”

Even more frightening, the “ownership” over Ebola extends to Ebola circulating in the bodies of Ebola victims. When Dr. Kent Brantly was relocated from Africa to the CDC’s care in Atlanta, that entire scene was carried out under the quasi-legal justification that the U.S. government “owned” the Ebola circulating in Dr. Brantly’s blood. Thus, one of the very first things that took place was the acquisition of his blood samples for archiving and R&D by the CDC and the U.S. Department of Defense.

Anyone infected with Ebola would be deemed to be carrying “government property” in the form of a patented virus"

Fear supersedes outrage & demands for answers . The next 'outbreak' (Marburg perhaps?) we won't be so lucky .

weaponized? maybe see PROJECT COAST veary real, very disturbing stuff. makes you wonder what rough beast did they create for us back in the 80's in South Africa?

and for all us northerners, cheese heads and canucks thinking we might get a safe pass due to the impending winter...

guess again we may, in fact, get it worst of all. so if your bug out plan includes going some place cold you may want to re- think that and head for the hottest, wettest place possible.

maybe shelter in place in a bathhouse?

this is because a study done by US army doctors in the 90's showed that ebola spreads much eaiser, much faster and much farther in cold dry climates...the outbreake among nhp's in seperate rooms with no direct contact was total in temps that were not much above freezing. apparently  the cold does not kill it and without high heat and humidity to weight it down the shit grows wings and flies the friendly skies. I only hope that it has not yet learned to dodge snowflakes. you can read the complete study at pretty much any alt. news sight.

Republicans move on from travel ban to visa suspension. While many still call for travel bans, the newest approach reported is to call for visa suspensions. The New York Times (10/21, Weisman, Subscription Publication) reports that Republican lawmakers called for strategic suspension of visas in a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, in an effort to limit the number of people from West Africa who enter the US.

The Washington Times (10/21, Sherfinski) also reports that Sen. Marco Rubio announced Monday that he plans to introduce legislation to temporarily ban new visas for citizens of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone. Politico (10/20, Haberkorn) notes that the legislation includes an exemption for those coming to the US to train to combat Ebola. The Hill (10/20, Byrnes) also covers the story.
