The Most 'Distrusted' News Sources In America
You know there's a problem with the media when Al-Jazeera is trusted more than NBC, CNN, and MSNBC. As Pew research's Journalism Project shows in the following table, the study attempted to measure not just whether people had heard of a variety of news sources, but which ones they really trusted when it came time to get straight info about politics and governments.
From "most distrusted" to least...
As Pew Research's Journalism Project reports,
There is not a single news source distrusted by at least half of all panelists or those with mixed or mostly conservative views. Six sources are distrusted 50% or more of consistent conservatives distrust and four are distrusted by most consistent liberals.
It's worth keeping in mind when reading the table that the 'distrust' numbers may be low for some less well known outlets mainly because most respondents have never heard of them, rather than because most respondents do trust them.

Pew is compromised just as everthing else is. The Pew Charitible Trust money originated from the Sun Oil fortune. I have worked with them on a few environmental issues and it is made very clear that one can criticize anything except problems associated with oil. It would be amusing if it were so terribly sad.

There's no such thing as an unbiased anything. All points of view contain the bias of the holder. Worse yet, all poll questions are designed with biases in mind.
The idea that bias can be excluded from human relations of any type is pure insanity. Nothing is more human than an opinion.

It would be much more informative to determine which news outlet actually presented the most accurate, factual news. However, it would be impossible to produce since facts are subjective depending on the audience.

Al Jazeera has ALWAYS been compromised. More controlled opposition to make the masses think there really is a such thing as alternative news
Before there was Al Jazeera America, there was English Al Jazeera. The latter was readily available via the internet; and -because of the large foreign diplomatic presence in the D.C. area- it could be viewed on cable in our nation's capitol. (I think Google users were blocked from viewing it, though.) But nationally, the major cable companies refused to carry it. Direct TV carried a 30-minute Al Jazeera program as part of a global news network.
Al Jazeera English was great for getting the anti-zionest perspective on world events. One of the first things done by the New York Stock Exchange, once it reopened after 9-11, was to banic\sh Al Jazeera from the floor of the NYSE. A lot of pressure was put on Qatar government to soften its criticism of US-Israeli operations after 2004. Eventually, the Qatari government allowed an American Jew to join the editorial board to oversee content and tone of its broadcasts.
In order to get wider exposure in the U.S., Al Jazeera America was created. Basically it was a sanitized version of CNN, with many former CNN newsreaders on the staff. And no one in America now is allowed access to English Al Jazeera anymore as a result. While AJAM does cover the plight of Palestinians more than any other network, reporting on the cruelty and bigotry of the Israeli settlers towards the Palestinians has been removed. The level of critical reporting on the evils of Zionism did crop up during the bombing of Gaza; but it has otherwise disappeared from Al Jazeera America reports.
From the US to UK, to youtube and facebook, to Australia and Canada and France - Jewish and/or Zionist control of the media and censorship is astounding.
I'm not talking ww2 revisionism even - just the fact Israel has occupied and built Jewish only settlements for 40 years while murdering Palestinians and bulldozing their homes and letting racist Jewish settlers throw rocks at their kids and burn their crops - all while claiming to "want peace."
Almost never is the occupation shown for what it is - images of violence focus on young Arab teens, and perpetually left out if the fact that you re watching an illegal occupation - the grandkids of European Jews in US taxpayer funded tanks and jets facing off against the rock throwing indigenous people of Israel/Palestine.

Amazing report. I'm too small to make that list, but I don't do fiction anyway. I have reporters I don't talk to anymore as they call me from time to time and won't give me a byline so I don't talk anymore and just do my blog and commenting. I keep telling folks that if you rely on the major media for all your news, you're in trouble. There are good reporters out there too but this whole system is getting tweaked as many of the media outlets are paying journalists for the number of clicks they get, so what happens now, the headlines, they gotta get you:)
We all look for readership, of course, and hope you read our stuff, but when it mounts to being ridiculous, that's another matter. A friend occasionally writes for Forbes and he puts it right out there " yeah I get paid by the clicks" the story generates. Then you also have the jouno bots. I have tried their free services to write me a story on my Google stas as I wanted to see what it did, and yes a very boring stat report, ok for use in the office for production meetings, but not what I would ever put out.
We end up with quantitated justifications for things not true and even Bill Clinton a while back told reporters to stop making up stories where there is none. See video #2 in this post, this is a bot that writes books, news and a whole lot more. The funny one was Christie with a reporter guessing he lost 80 pounds and sure he lost weight but the reporter made up the number of pounds and Christie himself said, the reporter made it up.

I don't pay attention to any of those - none worth my time.
Please note that the "mostly conservative" group had the longest list of distrusted media source, whereas the "mostly liberal" group, THE ONE WHICH CONSIDERS ITSELF ENLIGHTENED AND INTELLECTIONS, trusted the most media source of any group.

Well I can tell you Russia Today has a much larger following then many would give it credit for. Usual suspects on top and really I've found the truth does not come from any single channel. Form your own opinions from as many news sources as you can read because only then will you be closer to the truth, if at all.

Press TV is a little bit amateurish, and of course, there's been a concerted effort to block them in europe and elsewhere, but they do have some very good coverage of the middle east [obviously slanted...] because they have a lot of intel and are precisely interested in presenting a contrasting narrative that is not whitewashed, or edited out of ferar of, groups like AIPAC and the ADL and about 50,000 other organizations concerned not with correcting falsehoods, but preventing certain truths.
