i'm willing to bet that at some point soon, when the markets get a little dicey, that Obama will suggest that the Fed is not doing all it can. it may be they can't, and it may be they don't want to do anymore. to take it one step further, the result will a real public backlash, not just the rants of the blogosphere. to put it in game theory concept visualization (or whatever they call it) if the market starts to fall (according to the direction of the price oil lower and other asset prices) t
he fed has three possible situations, one is that they can't do anything, the other is they can something but choose not to, and the final one is that there is something they can do, and they do it. thats two unfavorable, and one favorable, the one favorable situation only happens if the Fed can do something different than whats it already doing (that would to raise rates because of economic demand, inflation and hyperinflation) as BB says they can fix inflation in 15 mintues, and listen carefully he didnt mention how long it would take to fix the other thing... and the other thing is what seems to be happening. there is a fourth possiblity that the Fed deliberately advances policies to create (not mere inflation) hyperinflation. the fed is in japan mode, they can only respond in certain situations, when they cant respond the system goes to hell in a handbasket, on the other hand they might not want to respond, suppose the stock market just leaks out air slowly. the fed can fix a blowout, but a slow leak?

How many times have we heard that the Fed is constituted in its current form to be immune from political pressure? How many times have we heard that we musn't beat the Fed about the head and shoulders because it needs to maintain its independence at all costs? (That would be independent from any checks and balances/external audit.) How many times must the cannon balls fly, before they are forever banned? Ooooops. How did that slip in there? I must be turning into a closet progressive. Gotta resist that statist liberal c*&p from the '60s. Where we started to lose it IMO.

Pratt’s cross-country trip was made possible through a little-known California law that allows a vehicle owner to get a “one-trip permit” that can be used to move an unregistered vehicle from one place to another. It is sometimes used by new or used car dealers to relocate inventory, but also can be used for moving vehicles into or out of California, according to the California Vehicle Code, section 4003.
Pratt got the permit to move the bus from one storage location to another: Oakland to Portland. When presented with the permit along the way, law enforcement officers typically were at a loss on what to do – and moved him along, he said.
“We were stopped in New Hampshire and the cop said, ‘I don’t even know what to do with this,’ ” Pratt said.
