Just when you thought it was safe to assume that Ebola-in-America was fixed (one day into Ron Klain's tenure as Ebola Czar), NYPost reports some rather disquieting news. A New York City doctor - who returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea 10 days ago - has been rushed under police escort to Bellevue Hospital... He is being tested for Ebola. Market liquidity has dried up instantly!

Update #2:

  • POSSIBLE NYC EBOLA PATIENT DID NOT SELF-QUARANTINE: CNN
  • POSSIBLE NYC EBOLA PATIENT TOOK UBER TO BOWLING ALLEY YDAY: CNN

As The Daily Mail reports,

Dr Craig Spencer, 33, who returned to the U.S. ten days ago from Guinea, was admitted to Bellevue Hospital in midtown Manhattan on Thursday and is being cared for in isolation.

The doctor flew to Africa on September 18 to treat patients in Guinea with non-profit organization, Medecins San Frontieres (MSF).

The medic works at Columbia University Medical Center and originally comes from Detroit, Michigan.

Investigators were taking the case seriously because it is not believed that the doctor self-quarantined on his return from Guinea, CNN reported.

On September 18, Dr Spencer tweeted a picture of himself wearing a full yellow hazmat suit and face mask with the message: 'Off to Guinea with Doctors Without Borders (MSF). Please support organizations that are sending support or personnel to West Africa, and help combat one of the worst public health and humanitarian disasters in recent history.'

On October 16, he checked in at a hotel in Brussels, Belgium, presumably on his return journey from Guinea to the U.S.

Full Statement on Patient at Bellevue Hospital

Today, EMS HAZ TAC Units transferred to Bellevue Hospital a patient who presented a fever and gastrointestinal symptoms.

The patient is a health care worker who returned to the U.S. within the past 21 days from one of the three countries currently facing the outbreak of this virus.

The patient was transported by a specially trained HAZ TAC unit wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  After consulting with the hospital and the CDC, DOHMH has decided to conduct a test for the Ebola virus because of this patient’s recent travel history, pattern of symptoms, and past work. DOHMH and HHC are also evaluating the patient for other causes of illness, as these symptoms can also be consistent with salmonella, malaria, or the stomach flu.

Preliminary test results are expected in the next 12 hours.

Bellevue Hospital is designated for the isolation, identification and treatment of potential Ebola patients by the City and State.  New York City is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of all New Yorkers.

As a further precaution, beginning today, the Health Department’s team of disease detectives immediately began to actively trace all of the patient’s contacts to identify anyone who may be at potential risk. The Health Department staff has established protocols to identify, notify, and, if necessary, quarantine any contacts of Ebola cases.

The Health Department is also working closely with HHC leadership, Bellevue’s clinical team and the New York State Department of Health to ensure that all staff caring for the patient do so while following the utmost safety guidelines and protocols.

Bellevue and the New York State Department of Health to ensure that all staff caring for the patient do so while following the utmost safety guidelines and protocols.

The chances of the average New Yorker contracting Ebola are extremely slim. Ebola is spread by directly touching the bodily fluids of an infected person. You cannot be infected simply by being near someone who has Ebola.

As NY Post reports,

A doctor who returned to New York City from Africa 10 days ago was rushed in an ambulance with a police escort from his Harlem home to Bellevue Hospital on Thursday, sources said.

He was suffering from Ebola-like symptoms — a 103-degree fever and nausea, sources said.

While he was in Africa, the doctor had been treating Ebola patients in Guinea, sources said.

He’s undergoing testing at Bellevue to see if he has the deadly virus, sources said.

Even if they survive it is not clear if Ebola virus particles ever truely 'clear' their system.

They have Ebola in their sperm for a year after...so it may be a population limiting virus in any event.

How many girls or women will data a post-ebola doctor ?

Ebola ... live with it forever.

Also, at this time, it may be a good time to change the French org's name from "Doctors without Borders"...to Doctors with Borders...or Doctors with Ebola.

This has to seriously impact the open borders meme....and may destroy open borders forever.

And remember all vaccines they invent are totally safe.  That's why they'll seek to do this......

Drugmakers may need indemnity for fast-tracked Ebola vaccines

(Reuters) - Drugmakers are looking for some kind of indemnity from governments or multilateral agencies against possible losses or claims arising from the widespread emergency use of new Ebola vaccines in Africa.

While the issue will not delay the industry's work to accelerate production and clinical testing of three experimental vaccines, it is likely to be discussed at a high-level meeting in Geneva on Thursday.

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Margaret Chan will chair the meeting, which includes industry executives, representatives from countries including those affected by Ebola, drug regulators and funders.

GlaxoSmithKline Chief Executive Andrew Witty said a system of indemnity made sense given the unique situation in which companies are being urged by the WHO to fast-track the supply of novel vaccines in a matter of months rather than years.

There is currently no proven vaccine against Ebola and drug companies have been wary in the past of investing in the area, since the commercial opportunity is small. Potential losses or claims arising from the use of new vaccines would represent an additional hurdle.

Many drug companies are now discussing ways to help out with production, including some like Pfizer that are not directly involved in Ebola vaccine development.

Witty said indemnity was not a concern for the early phase of testing, when thousands of doses are expected to be given to frontline healthcare workers as part of a clinical trial programme in January, but it would be needed when vaccines were rushed into much more widespread use.

"I think it is reasonable that there should be some level of indemnification because the vaccine is essentially being used in an emergency situation before we've all had the chance to confirm its absolute profile," he told BBC radio.

"That's a situation where we would look for some kind of indemnification, either from governments or from multilateral agencies."

Brian Greenwood, a professor of clinical tropical medicine at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, agrees that drug companies should not have to shoulder all the risk. "There would have to be some sort of guarantee," he told Reuters.

MANUFACTURING CAPACITY

Leading drugmakers say they are ready to work together to speed up the supply of Ebola vaccines.

Johnson & Johnson research head Paul Stoffels, who hopes to produce more than 1 million doses of an Ebola vaccine next year, said he was discussing collaboration with both GSK and other companies such as Pfizer, which has significant capacity to make a variety of biotech drugs and vaccines.

"We are looking at capabilities for biological production to upscale further," Stoffels said in Geneva.

The meeting is set to discuss ways to streamline the vaccine supply process and ensure there are adequate financial resources.

"WHO is organising this meeting to discuss how to access vaccines when they are proven safe and how to finance them,” a spokesman for the United Nations agency said.

Europe is also set to provide 200 million euros ($250 million) of funding to develop new Ebola vaccines, as well as drugs and diagnostic tests, sources said. An announcement on the European move is now expected for next week.

"We are now in a situation where we are desperate and we are looking for solutions," Yvette Stevens, Sierra Leone ambassador to the U.N. in Geneva, told Reuters.

GSK currently has the most advanced vaccine, the first doses of which are expected to be ready for use late this year, while clinical trials on a second vaccine from NewLink Genetics have just started and J&J will begin testing a third one in January.

"This is an unprecedented pace of development. We are literally doing in maybe five or six months what would normally take five or six years," Witty said. "I've already ordered five production lines to allow us to expand production."

You're right. Ignorance is frightening. I'm so relieved that you know that doctor's whole history and what he did or didn't do for the past ten days. Its reassuring that you know exactly when he began showing symptoms. That qualifies you to run your stupid fucking mouth, doesn't it? Are you panicked or something, tunnels? Slap yourself with a taser or something and STFU.

The doctors at MSF are the only humans worthy of the name in this whole business. You and your frightened, cowardly, fearmongering type have less intelligence and courage between the lot of you than that doc has in his little finger. People like yourself deserve technocrat leaders like Frieden.

>>>The doctors at MSF are the only humans worthy of the name in this whole business.

MSF docs are attempting to do good work, but the existence of MSF is almost entirely due to the many EU medical schools which have "open enrollment" policies:  you take the courses, you pass the tests, you're a doctor.

The existing EU medical establishment gets cheap labour, and the unemployed overflow of docs goes to MSF.

Since the black plague it´s been a recognized and established truth that isolation and quarantine is the only thing that works for lethal pandemics where there is no working medication. And then you have these Médecins sans Frontieres running around and doing their bit increasing the spread of the pathogen. I have over the years become so cynical that I am beginning to suspect that it´s not only borderless naivety but also other interests at play. Who funds these suckers? Do you think George is contributing?

Let me check and get back to you.

Yupp. A cursory look at open sources reveals that there are offices in Geneva , New York and United Arab Emirates. Funding and support from the Bilderberg Group inter alia.

Hell a fella could make a loot of money "helping" others...

Just look at Bono that runs all these charity scams out of which he keeps 98% (that´s right - only 2% is paid out to anything that remotely looks like charity). Bill and Hillary are running this thing with aid to poor black kids in Haiti , though they keep just 50% of the revenues. After all Billary needs to find a way to keep up the private airplanes and the lifestyle.

I think it´s a really sweet deal if you hook up this charity peddling with NWO activities . NWO´s boots on the ground so to speak. Not that the ordinary doctors running around and contracting would even begin to understand that. Those poor naive gullible people.

Now - going forward I think I will try my hand at rasing cash for something that has to do with black/hispanic people and throw in gender issues in the mix. Pimpimg is easy work aint it...

You missed his greatest attribute-  ALL those things he was involved in earlier in this administration (the stimulus package, Solyndra, etc.) had to do with what, exactly?

Hint:  Rhymes with spending money.

More than just money spending, ADMINISTRATION-DIRECTED MONEY SPENDING.  The kind the administration gets to directly pick the winners and losers.  Basically, they're setting him up with a giant administration slush fund under the auspices of "fighting Ebola" but it's a direct conduit to pay back political favors, buy votes, whatever.  Nothing he does, none of the money he's going to spend will have anything to do with fighting Ebola.

He doesn't give a shit about infectious diseases, doesn't care about over-population or any of that conspiracy-theory crap.  He cares about MONEY AND POWER.  Period.  Everything else is a side-show.

Even in 1644 London, both plague victims and authorities lied about themselves having it , and about cause of death in 'official recordss' in order to prevent a panic (their word for people avoiding death).

Are the airlines honestly making enough money there to justify the risk (think of the share prices!! 'cos heaven knows they won't think about peoples' safety).

Kinda makes you wonder why the insurance companies haven't "suggested" to the airlines:  Hey you might not want to fly multi-million dollar aircraft into hot zones.  If you do, you're not covered.  Maybe the airlines self-insure.  Lots of inexplicable hinkiness here.

The supposed outbreak occured on the border of Guinea and Liberia, which is a VERY remote area deep in the bush. The locals in this area hardly ever travel outside their territory. I have heard reports (not verified) that there was some sort of military (US-UN) aka (alex jones queer camp) bio warfare lab experiments going on and something went wrong... but who knows.

Ghana and Nigeria stopped all incoming flights from the affected areas, not sure about French Ivory Coast aka (lmfao) ...but again, the area where the outbreak started is very remote. (research - Nimba Strict Nature Reserve)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MZWNI-Hvhc ...and then look up ArcelorMittal Mt Nimba Mine Liberia...

Obviously this has been blown completely out of proportion by the media, my personnal gut feeling is that this (ebola)will burn itself out in a couple months.

Then again, why the fuck the US is sending troops into Liberia is a mystery to me, there may be ulterior motives afoot.
