The American Dream Is Still Possible, Just Not In The US
Submitted by Ron Holland via The Daily Bell,
Although there are no firm statistics on the number of Americans living outside the US, the US State Department estimates that somewhere between 3 and 6 million Americans now live offshore. I think this is a low estimate and the number is clearly growing.
I now live in Canada but often travel back to the United States. Driving through Customs near Buffalo is usually not a big ordeal but it does involve a time-wasting delay much like visiting the post office or any other US government bureaucracy. But governments should police their borders, as this is one of the few legitimate functions of a central government.
Still, whenever I'm there I do notice the America I grew up in and once knew has really changed since 9/11. The trend toward a more militarized and aggressive police force continues to quicken. I know most Americans accept this as part of the consequences of the War on Terror just as they do the loss of financial privacy, increased fines and asset seizures.
The Canadian government recently warned citizens to be careful when taking cash to the US because of the risk of police taking their cash for hyped-up offenses. Did you know that in the last 13 years, over $2.5 billion has been stolen by law enforcement in almost 62,000 cash seizures? I have to say that as an American, I'm outraged at the situation and always on guard when in the USSA.
I fear many Americans who don't travel internationally might have become somewhat immune to the intrusive, arbitrary nature of today's American government and its institutions. Here in Canada, law enforcement is almost always professional and courteous and even the bureaucrats are friendly and helpful, which simply amazes me.
So to my American family, friends and business associates, I want you to know it is still possible to achieve the American Dream of a simple life with opportunity for wealth creation, fun, freedom and good times without an overly intrusive, threatening government ... just not in the United States. Many other nations, in Central and South America and elsewhere, certainly also experience corruption and inefficiencies but government threats remain outside of everyday life for most citizens and expats.
Following are a few things I've noticed recently pertaining to international real estate and lifestyle decisions many people are considering, ranging from a new presidential executive order to mouth-watering Austrian chalets.
I mention the latest presidential executive order not because it concerns your lifestyle or real estate but because this is how you are likely to lose more liberties, have your gold confiscated or your bank safe deposit box frozen during a future real or contrived crisis. Roosevelt used this governmental tool to illegally confiscate private gold in 1933 and there is no immediate defense or remedy to a presidential executive order. Yes, Congress can act over time but exactly how this would help after the fact is a question no one can answer.
When retiring overseas, many countries require a minimum pension or retirement income in order receive the coveted benefits of expat retirement and your Social Security benefits can be all or part of this package. Therefore, leaving the US does not mean you lose your "promised but not guaranteed" Social Security benefits ... at least not until Congress starts to "means test" Social Security in order to end benefits to the wealthy and middle class. It is possible to continue to receive your benefits. Read more here.
A couple of weeks ago I was flying back to Canada from a Casey Research conference in historic San Antonio, TX. The American Airlines flight magazine had an excellent article on the radical transformation of Colombia from a crime haven to a tourist haven and now the toast of South America. I have visited Colombia several times recently and you must put this exciting country on your bucket list for a visit. Read about it in "A Radical Transformation."
I don't have a compulsive bone in my body except for being on time and I unrealistically expect everyone else to be on time. This is a minor problem for me in the United States, Canada or Europe – other than in Switzerland where everyone and everything is done in a timely manner. But in Central and South America, nothing happens by the clock. This is something potential expats and others considering living in Latin cultures will want to be aware of. While this article focuses on Ecuador, it provides excellent insight into the entire region.
The Colombia economy is booming and is viewed increasingly by international investment managers as a good candidate for global diversification. The earlier long years of political upheaval and guerilla violence means that much of the reserves of this resource rich country including oil, gold and coal have not been explored and the reserves are still unaccounted for. Read what the NASDAQ has to say about the country at "Colombia Represents A New Vision in South America."
Of course, going offshore isn't restricted to the lower cost, tropical venues of Central and South America. Some people may enjoy the opportunities for cold weather sports and the history of a wonderful country like Austria. Think of Austria as similar to Switzerland or Germany but a place where locals and visitors alike have a lot more fun. While Austrian real estate is not a bargain as it still is in South America, compared to Switzerland it is an excellent value. Here are a few chalets to tempt your wandering eye.
The opportunities still available are truly amazing and I encourage you to takes steps to ensure your lifestyle and wealth now, while you can.

It was only a "dream" cause you'd have to be asleep to believe it.
Which is precisely why that dream is still popularly rehashed here in Australia.
A more hopeless bunch of walking zombies you would never hope to meet.
This is what happens when Uncle Rupert controls ~70% of newspaper circulation in the country, and an obese, billionaire mining magnate is the largest single shareholder of the company which controls the other ~30%.
As the Aussie Peter Finch says in Network (1976): "We're in a lot of trouble!"
T'waa always a night-mare.
The American dream was built on mass graves of.....(start with native....animals, people....)....and go on through it's troubled history....the last century especially.....
America is a mirage (at least the manifest destiny lie version of it).... the entity America has wrought much misery on the rest of th eworld for it's own cocooned verion of utopia....
It's just time to wake up... and remember, seeing is not believing.....this is Maya time...

China is where the American Dream come true.
What happened to the American dream? It came true....

Seems like an overly optimistic outcome......
Very true. I left -- and other than the top 10% of my graduating class (of which I was not a part of -- thanks Beer) -- I am making more money than most of the rest of the suckers.
I am telling you all -- as fucked as "Europe" is -- the NEURO (Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Finland) and the NON-EUR Northern European Countries (Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, I'll even roll in Poland (the Western Part) and the Czech Republic) are were the "American Dream" is still alive.
I am telling you all -- having an "exit plan" really is the way to go.
I recommend Germany, but I am biased. Do your own research. Wanna flip through German foreclosure listing? zvg-portal.de is your friend. (The Federal Listing of Foreclosures up for Auction)
Click "Termine Suchen" (Search for Appointments)
Then chose the German state you want to search in.
Then go down to where the boxes are, and chose what kind of property you are looking for. For example, a single family house is called "Einfamilienhaus" etc., etc.,
You can get beauties that need some elbow grease such as this;

For a minimum of 9.500€ (yes that number is correct) (per banks discretion up to 70% of 19k).
Think about it.
Broken infantry running from the cavalry.
Stand and fight or die.
I purpose anyone who tries to close down a lemonade stand should be executed in public.
Perhaps then these things will cease to be.

Your links are not working.
Europe would be in much better shape by dropping the US and dealing directly with Russia and the Middle East.
So they are waiting for the US financial system to collapse. Shale prevented its collapse... from now.
I don'r think this post was about economics. The way I read it, it was mostly about the 4th Ammendment.
I am a little suprised Mr Holland didn't bring that up; but, not too much because there just aren't that many people out there who know the constitution or who can use it to connect the dots between things like the IRS and the problems cited in the post.
It's very, very sad.
That might slow down European collapse, but the end is nearing for the EU. Other than Germany, there is nothing left but massive debt and a ponzi economy sustained by wealth pillaged from former colonies that is running out fast. The naitve populations are collapsing and being replaced by savages that destroyed Africa and the Middle East. The USA will be right behind the EU
I was looking for German foreclosure site for a long time. Thanks for the links!
You're welcome.
If you need any help with the website -- blast me a message here.
Seriously though, just start clicking things, and you'll figure it out easy enough if you can't read German.
The German states that will have the best deals are those in the former DDR (East Germany).
The whole article was a 2 on a scale of 10.
Fluff piece.
Great article. Had to be said.
Regardless whether Canada is the place or not, it does not matter. Americans must start recognising that the free market DICTATES that they also look elsewhere for where they can maximize their happiness and productivity.
Writer is trying to be very polite. 8 out of 10 comments I write on ZN, I do not click "save" and choose "leave page" instead.
Promo for Casey Research newsletter. Austria is nice but good luck getting any visa or a residency visa if you buy a business there. Czech Republic is almost impossible. Switzerland is possible but you better have at least $20 million and you will never get citizenship.
And not one mention of the main source of income, COCAINE, but they did say that it's easier to get down there, and don't mind the heat AND humidity, it's there all year round. Execpt where the coca lives.

BRAZIL: "THE WORLD'S MOST (DELIBERATELY) DECENTRALIZED NATIONAL GOVERNMENT" [NO SHIT!]
https://www.searchlock.com/search?q=brazil+world%27s+most+decentralized+...
I clicked on your link and the second or third hit was a paper which started off by saying the decentralization of Brazil was being reveresed due to problems in the finance sector. I read that as "the banksters messed it up so they would have to re-centralize." Which reminds me of a quote: "You cannot have both Central Banking and Decentralized Government. You must pick one or the other."- Localism, a Philosophy of Government. http://www.amazon.com/Localism-Philosophy-Government-Mark-Moore/dp/06922...
[BULLSHIT!]
and their decentralization hasn't done anything the fix their five largest problems 1) Corruption 2) Red Tape 3) Corruption 4) Taxes 5) Corruption
Mmmm, oh yes. "Brazil", the movie? Loved it! I guess it has ongoing relevance.
Listen Zero's.
Listen to, believe in, trust t-h-e, "REGIONAL" Indian!
Listen.
Dont bash ORI, jerkoff.
+1 ORI, for proper reference to Manifest Destiny -- something that few Americans know of.
That is why I often refer to the changes we see as Manifest Destiny 2.0 (the Globalist Game), or sometimes as Feudalism 2.0.
The point being on both cases, that we have lots of biological and ideological descendants of both, and who are in positions of power and influences, to turn the crankshaft of those old ideologies.
Either way, Globalist Banksters love them, as both ideologies further THEIR cause: "One Coin To Rule Them All!"
"The Australian Dream" as they say. It's apparent that the Australian political establishment didn't even try to come up with a different moniker. Australia regrettably looks too much toward the UK or US for guidance and shapes its political environment accordingly.
+1. Nice quote of philosopher Carlin. :-)
Listen Kirk.
You cannot hide anymore. The world knows. Your Zionist "TRICK" has been exposed.
Use the American sheeple to build Greater Israel.
Convert their labor into riches for Net-in-Yahoo.
The USSA FED is the profit center, it skims the trillions of doo-lars in circulation and then converts confetti to gold and send it back home to Israel. USSA IRS another co-conspirator.
The USSA Federal Communications Commission, FCC, controls the message.
USSA CON-gress controls the laws.
Wal-street, Chi-town, DC, all havens for "THE CAUSE".
Time to start swimming in your fish bowl Mr. GOLD-fish.
Until next time.... I'm monitoring your comments.
Miss your meds again?
Seriously... I have to question your IQ, your due diligence and your agenda -- given all the blogs I've posted on Zio-Cons, Zionism (and its 2 types -- Nationalistic and Imperialistic/Global), on Kabal Talmudians, on anti-Zionists, on...
Are you a shill, agent provocateur, or just a messed up loser (you did say you lost big in Bangalore RE)? If you recall, I even called you a "Whore from Bangalore" in response to some mental diarrhea you were spewing at the time.
Get back on the meds, and try to "stay the course", whatever course that is. Good luck.
Who would have thought, 20 years ago, that Russia could potentially be a preferred destination for freedom lovers than the U.S!?
Who believes that now, homo?
I do, African-American.
Need any help packing?
No need, I'm already there.
No need to help. Best you patriots can do is stay where you are and defend democracy on the home front battle zone.
Ariadne, isn't your avatar a jpg of Geronimo? Interesting.
That is only a perception. The Russian President has all the power needed to turn full dictatorship overnight.
The only free place on earth is within rifle range of the person concerned. No matter where you go, there you are.
Where as the perception of Obomba is that he's already a dictator.
Why are you Amerikans so fascinated by guns? Don't you have beer to drink and girls to fuck?

Oops. DP. :)
We've got great beer. But the broads here have a sour attitude.
...I know I know. I'm not suppose to say "broads". Not supposed to use the C word, no matter how apt.
I would add that many of the "broads" here are well, "broad".
Now, now. Let's keep fat and broad in separate barrels. Broad is okay. Fat, not so much.
I've been told that I'm very broad minded. ;-)
I don't mind them at all, not at all. :-),
Nobody would have thought that 20 years, Baghdad Bob. Only total fucking assholes think so now.
Ha Ha!! The truth hurts hey...?
Let me check my schedule here ... Friday: Reality ... Saturday:. Sanity ... Sunday: Rationality ... Monday: Inanity. OK, BB, I'll get back to you Monday.
Who'd a thought we'd still be using the light blub.
You mind sharing your email address with me? I've got some questions for you sir.
The American Dream Is Still Possible, Just Not In The US
That gets a vote for one of the ZH comedic headlines of the year.
Hasn't it always been this way? You've just woken up. Time to enjoy life and move away from this shit. Fascinating as it is, there's so much more out there besides money. There are many ways people get stuck.
my co-worker's sister makes $72 /hr on the computer . She has been unemployed for eight months but last month her check was $12806 just working on the computer for a few hours. check this... www.yelptrade.com
Really? More of this bullshit??
Are knee pads and condoms included?
instead of longing for an american dream of the past it might be more helpful to understand what made that dream possible.
post ww2 we had korea then vietnam, both cash boons for the military-industrial thing eisenhower spoke of. but as these wound down in the 70's americans were given a taste of the hyper inflation the fed created to pay for it. nixon had no choice but to stop gold backing of the dollar: hundreds of billions was needed and these numbers could not be supported by gold, only unfettered fiat could do the trick. after that, american industry was sold off piecemeal, mostly to the chinese. but once again, this was perfect for the creation of MORE FIAT. now, we didn't have to worry about the inflation of the 70's. we found the perfect way to export our inflation: import everything we might want and pay for it with increasing amounts of printed money. oh, we were clever. our inflation would be the rest of the world's problem.
any kind of american dream was always founded in blood, greed and deceit. I am not proud of this, nor do I long for its return. the chicks, as they say, have come home to roost, and as distasteful as this reckoning has been and will continue to be, its truth is there in the mirror, if we can stand our own reflection.
Did anyone else see the CT gov debate last night where Malloy said one reason we need to make high cap mags illegal is so that
PEOPLE DONT ATTACK THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
wtf??? let something slip there pal?
Well - fascism is incompatible with the true American dream. Either you have the one or the other. And with the demise of the American dream you are experiencing in real time something else.
Either you make up your mind to do something about it or go along with the current state of affairs. And you can keep fooling yourselves that it´s something new, trendy , socialistic , progressive , openminded , non-racist all you want but shortly it will be about as fun as living in the old DDR.
Your choice.
Fuck that. I'd rather sit here and bitch on ZH than actually leave and enjoy freedom.
I'm with you brother, whinging and bitching is the way to go.......oh wait, I'm already somewhere else.
Hope you don't mean Australia. That's another jackbooted, over-regulated, private debt ridden, blah, blah, blah. Amazing what you can get away with when you tell people they're "laid back" and "easy going".
"Well here's another by-law you won't mind."
"Oh don't worry Mr Councillor/Politician, I'm too busy asking the banker for moar money to renovate my zero down, interest only investment property so I can pretend I'm on a reality TV show."
Two decades without a recession. The next one's gonna be goooooood.
Australia is a good example of how to ruin a perfectly nice country.
FYI... Australia is part of the "Five Eyes Alliance": US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand.
The DOD, NSA (yes, I know they're part of the DOD), CIA and the Fed love these comfy, English-speaking countries, as the bulk of their staffers don't have to "stretch" themselves with a second language or expand their cultural horizons.
And the Globalist Ministry of Sheeple-Education can easily scale their PR, and brainwashing efforts, via the MSM and Educational systems.
The bitches provide cover, and lots of GIGO hay for the spooks to sift. Keep On Bitching.
Go back to Tel Aviv abd stay there homo saying what.
How exactly could you enjoy freedom if you have to leave to find a place that will give it to you?
Freedom is something you earn, not find along the way.
As soon as you have taken a side you have lost the game
The only Amerikan dream left is to escape from this shitshow... Over and out.
yes, that might be the wise choice, but it might also be a fun challenge to stick around and work under the surface of the new amerika. think of the great black markets and barter that is sure to surface. we can return to a face to face with one another to get what we truly need: food, medicine, etc, and forget the folly of attaining the toys we can do without.
I am not especially worried about the tyrannical govt. the govt is made of people. and they too will need to operate in the new underground to support their families because all the govt will be able to pay them with will be a devalued dollar, one that is worth less every day.
du'dis mean dey take y'alls safe-deeposit boxes so dey keep up on mah EBT...
Agree with the author, but fear that Canada is being dragged down the Insecurity rat-hole by its giant neighbor.
Harper is there lapdog its sicking to see him.
stay here and fight. Canada is a socialist country ahead of where we are. we need to stop this shit in the USA before we become Canada. but hey just thinking out loud
Ron Holland talking his book, literally.

Fuck him, I'll fight.
lawyer-infested legal system
Well, at least they're catching up. Whats about to happen involves justice.
Exactly right.
Justice and legality are two different things.
Lotsa cowards out voting tonight I see.
take off, eh
I'll second that, hoser!
I'm still dry humping the American dream's leg! Some day I'm gonna know someone that owns this moldy, poorly insulated dump.
LOL.
Thank goodness for vodka!
Colombia has multiple US military bases there and their purpose is to de-stabilize South America. Quell your enthusiasm.
Honestly I pity this guy.
Colombia, when the population filling of CIA interference, it will turn into a powder keg.
Panama was well (and nobody comments).
Same thing is going to happen in Paraguay, expect the old Bush sell the farm, the population of Tupi-Guarani make a chipped shit.
There remain few places for a North American living beyond his home state and his tomb at home.
Even in Costa Rica thing is getting ugly.
Snowden was a smart guy.
hehe.
I'm stuck in the sinking ship US, because the rest of the world has crappy gun laws.
Then you deserve everything coming your way...
"Something evil this way comes", and IT pays no attention to paper borders.
Even with that you have more options than any average person anywhere else.
Its your Birth Right.
DEFEND IT WITH YOUR LIFE
Spoken like a man that's never owned a passport.
Better to own a few. The more the better - they give you options. Preferrably from nice neutral, not pissing off half the world type countries.

America is a big place. Still plenty of places that havent changed for 50-60 years. I moved into my grandparents house. This area is just like I remember it 45 years ago....except for the WalMart. Even the movie theater is the same. If you live in New York or DC or Seattle...yeah, thats gotta suck.
I've found a corner of the Midwest that reminds me of the town I grew up in. Corner hardware stores, no fast food franchises, you can leave your doors unlocked. Yes, the local cops have an MRAP but it's useless in the snow.
There are places worth escaping to in the US. Keeping them secret is the hard part.
The issues that come to mind for me is that if you have an idea and one that has potential you are doomed if you try to bring it to fruition in the US The level of corruption by people and corporations with more money will crush you. Not always but more and more you are likely to be attacked legally and lots of obstacles if you go the patent route. Corporations have enough money that they will steal your copyright and then sue you too. Sort of have to buddy up with someone wealthy to get the ball rolling. Some things that noone else will touch still get off on their own
American Dream?
Rob Zombie keeps coming to mind for some reason
I'll figure it out sooner or later
As a consequence of such Porno Economics gullible Indian families in order to finance their childrens American Dream ended up having their entire life savings directly into the pockets of Uncle Sam. What this means is that India has been sustaining the US economy not since just a few years asBrookings report showed but since even before the 90s. Same as India financed and createdModern Britain through the Industrial Revolution when the East India Company had gone bankrupt. Many of the great American and European fortunes were built on the Opium grown on Indian soil destroying agriculture and leading to 400 years of Indian Holocaust that was used to drug entire Chinese generations into subjugation. It were these Opium smuggler families that laid the foundations of Western Education System. And now when the American Empire is waiting for it’s death nail, novel bollywood style concepts are introduced into India in the form of Skill India, Jan Dhan Yojna etc through Foreign Direct Investment in India. What nobody seems to question is how when the West is resorting to colonial tactics invading Syria, Ukraine, Iraq to salvage what is left of it’s bankrupt economies, how on earth could the same bankrupt US EU countries would reform and Shine India through FDI ?
To believe, assume, think, analyze, ponder and understand that the heirs of these EICs and others who run these immense MNCs suddenly in the 90s realized that “let us go and spend billions of dollars in India, civilize it, modernize it for the benefit of billion of Indians whose culture is very old and whose food (spicy) that everybody likes” just shows the wild fantasies of Bollywood, Tollywood, Mollywood cultures that is imbibed in our mental thinking process.
Indians Still Dreaming The American Dream ?Opium and heroin. Never changes. China, India, Vietnam (the whole region) and now Afghanistan. Probably the UN Clinton Serbia-Balkans War had more to do with pipelines and running drugs into Europe through the Balkans from Afghanistan
Oh and how did Meyer Lansky make his early fortune? Running heroin through Mexico into America.
To SidKhadak above...thanks for that very insightful post...
This whole Indian movie industry thing is quite sketchy. Indians are by and large obsessed with movies and idolize the stars. Is that a correct assessment, ORI?
Shit stinks to high heaven. It's like it's being programmed in all directions, even in Silicon Valley. The morning radio on a local AM channel does a a 6-7am "tech drive" for tech commuters. Two white guys and and an Indian guy. Fun stuff, good laughs, new info, etc. Following from 7 is an Indian show from 7-10. And by god, they have an entire section dedicated to bollywood news. Everyday. What the fuck?
Sometimes the Vietnamese stations are fun to listen to. They're always yelling about something lol.
Brother SB, you are young and wise....and correct... :-)
I'm learning though, that if you see it all through the eyes of One World, All good, new perspectives emerge.
Haters hate to be loved only because they never had it...
Hollywood used to make decent movies. These days it's all state propaganda or pablum. So dry and worthless. I think the last movie I saw in the theater was 'Inception.' Cool graphics, great soundtrack. Don't particularly care for the story.
The great part of this life is storytelling. You have to make your own story in order to be able to tell it in pieces at points, and in full at the end. ;-)
Movies are a force-feed of calculated storytelling. Dangerous stuff.
edit: that word comes up over and over - one may notice, in the reading of this comment. Give some thought to the importance of sharing information, starting with the scenario that you are all alone in the universe, and you need to tell someone something, or you're gonna go bonkers. ;-)
Ah the Oil & Drugs trade.
Or, as I like to call them: the "Spice & Ice" trade.
If you include the Human Traffickers and Banksters, I call it the "Spice, Vice and Lice" trade.
Huxley got it wrong. People are paying for their own drugs, keeping themselves sedated (and in the US, keeping prisons full and very profitable).
Some form of mind altering substance intake goes back to prehistory but it seems like half the humans on earth are prone to abuse and addiction - perhaps to numb themselves into obliviousness given the shit lives they are leading. I doubt you'll ever go broke supplying that craving - and are likely to make a fortune.
Honestly, no!
You Americans are no longer "welcome".
His government made ??you insane plague.
European banks do not want the most, problems with income tax.
Where there is an American there is a CIA agent, that is the perception.
Where there is an Evangelical Pastor's an informant.
Where there is a non-Governmental Organization (NGO) funded by the United States Government's concrete suspicion that the money is the alphabet soup that you call "security".
No, his government has used many tactics that neither decent social life will be accepted in many parts of the world.
Do not blame us where you are visiting when some shit happens and nobody bother.
Increasingly Americans are escurraçados in leisure travel, listen to what I say.
I repeat:
Yes, you have guilt, you put that Government support and imbeciles.
The problem if you are not well cysts in other countries.
: - /
That's the kind of welcome I'm pretty sure I'd get eventually, one way or another, from damned near anywhere on earth at this point once the dollar dies.
I think I'll stay here. I know the terrain, I know the resources, and I know where to get to when it turns to shit.
Nice tactical summation.
I really enjoy particularly lucid commentary.
Sigh.
I really hate it when people confuse their personal impressions with facts. Especially when they aren't even close to the truth.
So three to six million Americans live overseas out of a population of 330 million-- and that figure no doubt counts overseas American military and their dependents.
On the other hand, three million Canadians out of a population of 33 million live the expat life and there are essentially zero overseas Canadian military deployments.
So let's do the math, shall we, Mr. Prompt and Organized. And we'll even grant you your high estimate of 6 mil US just to make it fair...
6/330 = 1.8 percent of the US population.
3/33 = 9.1 percent of the Canadian population.
In fact, the last time I looked at this, Canada was NUMBER ONE in percentage of its population living someplace other than inside the homeland. At least for First World countries.
NUMBER ONE by a large, large, large margin over everybody else-- especially the US. Which leads one to ask the question: If Canada is such a great place to live, how come fewer Canadians choose to live there unless they absolutely have to?
Want to take a stab at guessing which country plays host to more expat Canadians than any other place on the planet?
@ Tabarel:
I know your nic is "Tarabel" but I could not resist, "Tabarel" is "Idiot" in military language in Brazil.
I'm not telling Americans unhappy "good" that do not even know who their government does in their name.
I say on more than seven hundred military bases around the world, some with serious problems of rape in countries where they are, and other serious cases of indiscipline.
Come Tabarel, calculate both the same, no Chinese women within the USA and all very tense, horny!
Neither his mother escapes!
Mane!
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
You raise an interesting point about the safety of women in society. Maybe things have changed but isn't Brazil the country where you can murder your wife in any grisly fashion imaginable, claim it as a matter of masculine "honor", turn yourself in to the police and not be charged for any crime at all?
As for the US military, I can see you have freely and voluntarily allowed yourself to be swayed by the occasional statistical anomaly inherent in any large population simply because it squares with your own personal hope in how the world ought to be. If you spent any time with them, you would know how erroneous your media-colored viewpoint of American military personnel is.
As I recall, you are perhaps referring to the recent case in the Philippines. Sad as this case may be, and of course the Marine in question is presumed innocent until proven guilty except perhaps in the court of Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, the fact is that it was the goverment of the Philippines which invited the US military to return to the islands after a long absence.
Given a free choice between renewing ties with their old and faithful allies, the Americans, and standing alone against the national rapacity of Communist China, the Philippines were glad to have the Leathernecks back, despite a potential bad apple in the barrel.
How about you and your country, Karibao? Do you support China claiming half the Pacific, including territory obviously within the 200-mile limits of many small, weak nations that surround it? Are you and your Brazilian military terminology willing to stand up for these scared people in the face of aggression? The Filipinos? The Vietnamese? The Indonesians? The Burmese, who were fervent Chinese allies until just recently, when they figured out what the game was really about? Are you interested in helping any of them? Because we'll be glad to step aside and let Brazil handle this if it wants to.
Don't bother to answer, Mr. BRICS. We know which side you are on, or at least which side you want to be on if you think you can get away with it without getting hurt in the process.
"We'll knock them down and then we'll get the guy in back of them.
We did it before, we'll do it again."
Where is this 'Homeland' place you speak of? I've heard it mentioned in the media a lot lately but when I look in my Atlas I find no mention of it! It must be some new country I've never heard of...
:-))
For an increasing number of 'mericens homeland means "trail park" or one of the more than 700 democracy-defending military bases.
Apartment-dwelling foreigners can only dream of life on an American military base or a trailer park back home. Personally, and I am not making this up, I only have 75 acres, 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and 3 kitchens for me and my cats.
Okay, I lied. I also have 3 more kitchens and bathrooms in the 3 RVs parked out back. It really sucks being an American, I got to tell ya.
So far as defending the rest of the ingrates of the world, I'd be happy to pack up and bring everybody home. Instant GDP transfer back to US, where it belongs, and away from foreign nations, which are kept afloat with spending by lonely GIs. Time these other guys carried their own weight.
"dream of life on an American military base":
--> Killing, raping, waterboading, droning come into one's mind.
"ingrates of the world":
--> 200.000 killed Iraqis come into one's mind.
Strange fellow, better having fun with your 5++ bathrooms rather than posting your hillbilly-fantasies as nuggets of wisdom.
See, we're actually in agreement philosophically. We'll come home and let you apartment dwellers handle it for yourselves. Time you guys started carrying your own weight. That's what I want, that's what you want, so what's the problem?
Have you considered that w/o the US military and Bankster presence, these countries would do a lot better?
For one, they would not have a US-armed dictator or Zio-Con Bankster Oligarchy running and ruining the place, and the country could grow and evolve on its own.
Hi Bag,
The word "homeland" (not capitalized) was used as a pleasing allusion to the Dominion of Canada. To wit: Canadians are less statistically likely to live in their own country (homeland) than the citizens of any other member of the club of, in P J O'Rourke's felicitous phrase, "reasonably decent nations".
As a professional writer, i.e. one who gets paid to write things for a living, I hate to reuse the same descriptive nouns over and over again even when just posting stuff for fun, and thus always cast about for something a little different to break up the monotony. Not everybody has the same vocabulary, of course, and I'll keep in mind your desire for simplicity in future postings.
Hi bel,
Thanks for letting us all know that you're a writer.
Must be painful having to come on here for 'fun' and deal with all us plebs.
I'll look up some of your work. Must be interesting stuff...
Thanks again, and best wishes.
Bag
Oh yes, I forgot to mention...and as you noted, please keep your posts a little more simplistic. I really don't have the mental capacity to process higher thought functions. Now, where did I put my bong.....?
Hi bag,
Glad you enjoyed the gratuitous dig.
To answer your other post and the points therein:
Actually I enjoy ZH quite a bit and am frankly fucking off tonight when I should be working. There are a lot of thought-provoking ideas floating around here. Sometimes the urge to wade into the Fight Club is strong and, at other times it isn't. I don't take any of it personally. I am me and am therefore shaped by my own experiences and environment. Others have different experiences and environments that can lead to differing outlooks.
Of course they're all wrong. Have a good weekend.
I concur. Lots of shit to sift through, however, sometimes, within lay nuggets of pure wisdom.
I'm a man of a few previous personas. Skulking around in the background for many a year. Though I have, of late, noticed a lack of the old charm that once warmed me to this site.
Such a shame.
A large number of Canadien 'expats' are seasonal - simply because the place gets damn COLD in winter. Might be the reason some choose to retire farther south as well - after a life working cold winters a more tropical retirement abode holds great appeal. Not that different than New Yorkers fleeing to Florida - just that Canada doesn't HAVE any place that gets all that warm.
Snowbirds are already flocking down here.... Clogging streets, getting lost, driving slow.
I wish the state of Florida would post reminders that speed limits are in MILES per Hour, it seems most Candians drive 20% slower then posted speeds. Figured it willthe KPH confusing them.
I don't t see your point on the cash seizure issue. The average amount seized by your numbers was $42,000. What honest person carries around 42k in cash and cannot state a. Amid reason for it? I have carried around 15k in cash at the 1st of the month after collecting rents and was on the way to the bank. I could identify every person who paid me by name and address.
In contrast a guy on welfare/food stamps with no job and not paying taxes and having 10k in cash is involved in a criminal enterprise. At least welfare fraud. If he just "found" it as the police walked up he has to turn it over as lost money. It is difficult to think how he could have the money and not be committing a crime.
Do Canadians regularly drive.around with $42k in cash in their cartrunks? There is no income reporting requirements to the tax authorities? Doubtful.
The 'average' number is boosted by VERY LARGE drug seizures - in the millions. I'd like to know the median. I 'll bet you've got loads of seizures under $5,000 or $10,000 which is a reasonable amount to carry if you're a small business type or buying a car or putting a downpayment on property or..... Ever known anyone that runs a liquor store or convenience store? And more than a few Hispanics don't have bank accounts - hard to get without proper paperwork.
The thing is in the US, any 'un approved commerce" is considered criminal. Why? Because the gov mafia can't get their skim on black market and bartering.
So many 'crimes' in the US have no victim.
The local municipalities are going broke due to overstaffing, pension costs, and health care.
Since they cannot print money like our dauntless leaders in DC, they instead have to turn their guns on their own populace.
Here it's traffic checkpoints to catch hardened criminals who commit the capital crime of letting their tags expire, driving while license revoked, having no car insurance, failure to appear for expired registration, speeding, blowing .08 while doing nothing else wrong -driving fine, 4th amendment violated-here speeding tickets are a criminal offense and the average speeding ticket will run you $400. God forbid you carry a firearm in your car that is not on open display (its a felony to put it in your glove box or center console -- insanity).
And the cops will NEVER let you go if they can bust you on the most trivial offense. They even coerce people into admitting crimes they didn't commit: admit to this crime you didn't committ, or you're going to jail. I shit you not.
Ultimately somebody has to pay for their salaries, equipment, health care, pensions, and the bloated staff at every local government office (all fat and too many of them). And that somebody is the local people who have the cop guns to their collective head.
Fuck.
That.
Shit.
That works for not. Until it doesn't. And when the music stops, some grudges will get settled with the pd, sheriffs, and dept of social services, unaccountable tyrants who fuck with peoples' lives just because they like it.
Long boild hemp rope, and guillotines.
There will be a lot of justice, real justice, to be served up to these useless shitbags who get off on terrorizing peaceable people.
My list is about to exceed the storage capacity of my phone.
The American Dream was always a promotional gimmick.
"See The USA in Your Chevrolet-!"
Once I Was Your Candy Colored Dream Girl -+1
To most of Americans this is blasphemy. No news to the rest of the planet.
Ditto.
It says it all!
Thx AJ
Well, Chinese dreams are alive and well.
They are. But their ant-dreams are shallow, wrong, a consequence of brain washing while Americans' dreams are an expression of just how free and and great this society is. Ask Frank Zappa.
free to buy shit to cover up the void in our souls where personal fulfillment, contentment, and love should have existed.
get back to work, monkey.
+1 00000's
Kumbaya. If you like your Kitsch you can keep and post it on ZH.
The democrats run every election year on helping the working class and middle class, and every year they form law to fuck them in their asses. Keep voting democrat!
The republicans, if they wanted to, could actually for once embrace limited taxation and government, but they haven't done so in a long time.
We are in the final fleecing stage of the country. The final loot. It is anarchy.
Você é sensato.
:-)
True, but the idea that the Democrats have been anything close to "left" since they nominated McGovern is a joke. We also haven't had a true right shit either.
All we've really had is a corporatist shift.
Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama....same economists behind the scenes.
Warren or Paul 2016.
At least, regardless of left/right it would shake it up.
Elizabeth Warren? LMFAO. Liewatha? That commie whore shouldn't be anywhere near the levers of power.
She is Obama only worse which probably means she's probably a shoe in.
Warren wanted to create and head up the first ever CFPB, aka the FED money police, which is run by the FED for the FED with no congressional oversight and whose job is to know, at all times, where every single penny you have is located.
Before the office even had any authority, Warren was secretly demanding personal citizen data from States AG's which caused such an outrage she was canned before she was appointed. All she's been doing is working extra hard to try and change her image from Commie Banker Whore into 'peoples anti-bank crusader' but that is her greatest lie of all. That's how these sociopaths roll.
Dead on, Bumbu. Anymore, you can't be free unless the gov't pays for everything and makes you free; ie, FDR's "positive" liberties: Freedom from want and fear; aka, On the welfare dole I go, on the welfare dole I go, oh so amario, goes my liberties down the hole.
"Here in Canada, law enforcement is almost always professional and courteous and even the bureaucrats are friendly and helpful, which simply amazes me."
Are you serious? Where in Canada are you in? In Vancouver, the police, bureaucrats, business owners, homeless, drug dealers, junkies, landlords, nearly everyone, the entire justice system, is crooked to the max.
The VPD regularly "seize" drug dealers' cash without pressing charges and even leaving the drugs. They call it "rent".
Serbia, farmland like central Illinois minus the bullshit regulations on large scale cattle operations and no fucking EPA regulations.
But so far in central Illinois you haven't ever had to deal with rogue militia units (with their own tanks) extorting you while practicing ethnic cleansing.....
Was talking to a guy from the former Yugoslavia - he said you were far better off in a CITY. Large population meant somoen was always trying to make money providing supplies and services. Out in rural areas it was harder to get supplies and you were all alone and an easy target for roving groups of heavily armed thugs (sort of the inverse to the situation in Illinois where the roving bands of heavily armed thugs are found in large cities)
In rural Illinois the roving bands of thugs are usually government employees looking for some way to pillage the population, regulate your personal life, or tax and fine you for hoarding the 6 rolls of toilet paper in your bathroom cabinet and the unreported 35 cents they discovered in your coin jar.
Canadian Federal debt = $42M/day interest = $1.25 /day/ person , Canadian Province of BC (British Columbia) debt = $18M/day Interest =$4/day/person combined
= $5.25/day/person.
Family of 5 =$5.25/person/per day / = $787.50 /month, this families monthly interest portion of the debt. Ontario's provincial debt is much higher/person, and Quebec is much worse yet.
All Western governments have been playing copy cat money printing/deficit spending.
All Gov's will not stop until the people stop them, but first these people must be educated to even know that this is how bad is has become. Most have no idea the situation is this bad thanks to the proaganda news networks that don't tell you the news anymore, they lead you to believe that nothing is wrong.
If you love your children, I mean really love your children, get your head out of the sand, spread the word, educate your neibors and friends, make these topics on the tip of everyones tongue, before it's too late!
Amen, you have so many Americans who are blind to whats going on. We all must spread the word to as many people as we possible can to help wake them up.
