Martin Armstrong On The Danger Of Conspiracy Theories

If you want to hide something in plain view, exaggerate it to the point it becomes extreme and convert it to a conspiracy theory. This is a very standard in how to create propaganda and if you keep saying a lie, its becomes the truth to many without ever having to prove anything. To uncover the truth, takes digging. This I have discovered both in politics as well as market fundamentals.
The two big conspiracy theories to be exaggerated that cover up the truth are the 911 WTC Attack and the Kennedy Assassination. With the former, people take it to the extreme and claim there was not even an attack by terrorists and the whole thing was made up. Sorry, there was an attack and the government knew it was coming and allowed it to for three purposes
- (1) eliminate the evidence on many cases in WTC7 including all my evidence that documented EVERY market manipulation up to 1999 by the investment banks et al for which they are getting fined all the time today
- (2) wipe out the evidence that would have exposed the missing $2 trillion in the Pentagon budget, and
- (3) generate more power for government by allowing Americans to be victims as originally proposed in Operation Northwoods.
Now, that is far closer to the truth than claiming there was no Middle East terrorists involved at all, Strange, for that does not jive with Saudi Arabia threatening Russia with terrorism or the funding of ISIS to overthrow Syria which has now overthrown most of Iraq.
Then there is the Kennedy Assassination spun to be the product of the Mafia or with Oswald’s Russian connection. Eisenhower in his Farewell Address warned of the vast military complex that had grown out of World War II employing over 3 million people. There was no such industry before that war and the view was now Communism would take the world. My father was a Colonel under General Patton and you to tell me all the time about him as a child how he read the books of his opponent and how he accurately predicted that the real enemy would be Stalin and wanted to go all the way to Moscow.
In the Third 1960 Presidential Debate, Kennedy exposed the truth behind the decline in the Bretton Woods System – it was the vast expenditure on the military. Her said:

The price of silver was rising and Kennedy set in motion the withdraw of silver from the monetary system. This too has been spun into a conspiracy theory Here they have spun JFK’s Executive Order 11110 into the Federal Reserve killed Kennedy because he was taking their power to print currency away. You just can’t get any more far-fetched than that one.
Simply put, JFK also said the US current account deficit could be stopped at any time if the government stopped expanding its military worldwide for that was sending dollars offshore. If anyone had a motive, it was the very same people behind the NSA abuse of power – not the Federal Reserve, Mafia, or Russians. Just follow the money and you get closer to the truth – i.e. Halliburton, Cheney and the Iraq War against a nation who was against religious fanatics, the very terrorists who attacked the USA – go figure that one out without following the money. We took out two dictators who kept religious fanatics in check -Saddam Hussein and Muammar al-Gaddafi.
BTW, as soon as Halliburton was to be investigated, they moved to Dubai. Just follow the money.

I guess I'm not the only one that noticed his writings changed dramatically about the time he was released from the big house. It is unlikely that the dense items from the aircraft all magically headed towards the steel girders to neatly slice them up and essentially allow the building to collapse in its own footprint with the collision of the dense pieces turning the girders into molten metal.

Some people are only a little affected by hypnosis. Some people a lot. Some people none at all. It took me a while, but I finally received enlightenment. Actually, they do, as can be seen in the video of the jetliners striking the Twin Towers. The Towers later collapsed as result of the damage caused by the out of control fires. The Towers collapsed from within the fire zone. Once the collapse was initiated, there was no preventing the debris from plowing floor by floor, down through the remainder of the building.

That Israel knew about the attack, or the plot, and did little to warn us would not surprise me.

But until someone comes forward with concrete prove that it was planned, say because they knew of the attack in advance, even that they didn’t know the exact date, I don’t think it’s worth spending time with these issues (propagandas/distractions).

Most people don't realize how difficult it would be to fudge the flight manifests. The flight attendants are (and were) very careful to ensure their accuracy. Mistakes do rarely happen, but to think that there were 4 (or 3) unaccounted for passengers on ALL four flights is absolutely unbelievable.
Also, most people don't realize how easy it would be for a bunch of, let's say "the most powerful douchebags in the world", to do stuff that really should be absolutely unbelievable.

The danger of conspiracy theories is that you have guys like Cass Sunstein who brag in academic papers on how government agencies and corporations can "cognitively infiltrate" forums and message boards to deliberately stir up trouble to push false narratives and cause false debate.
Some theories are becoming more outlandish than the last to the point where most people become apathetic and give up.
The line of rationality that goes between the "sheep herd" and the "tin foil nuts" is very, very thin, but the moment your believes are starting to be shaped by a fear of becoming a sheep you will fall down to the tin foil crowd (and vice versa). I sometimes catch myself doing this, and I see too many people on ZH apparently doing this mistake as well.
See below (novus or do seclorum....good book to read as well) and all off these theories suffer from the same malady namely they are not based on any EVIDENCE.
In short before we can have ANY truth we have to have OBSERVATION.
Even Einstein's theory of relativity is still that...a THEORY (albeit a very good one as the Manhattan Project showed.)
You can deny truth but as Justice Jackson proved at Nuremberg you cannot deny EVIDENCE.
So sure...we can "spin" Ebola Etc any way we want...but this does not deny the fact that our response to an Outbreak (real or perceived) has consequences.

Sometimes one single slice of evidence is enough, the question is whether you accept such a piece of information as reasonable evidence. This is where people get all emotional and so often let their predetermined opinion decide what they eventually will believe.
Also, just as important as a piece of evidence, is a motive. A conspiracy theory without any reasonable motives is usually just as useless as those without any reasonable evidence.
That's "rise up" to the tin foil crowd, buster! But I agree that taking everything you read on ZH at face value will make one reach for the box 'o foil, and that's as it should be because our society is FUCKED UP!
As someone who gets into conspiracies some of the time, I wish to admit something. I do it for one reason. I do it to find out the complete truth. I do not being lied to or manipulated. I'd rather search for hours for truth then just see something on CNN! And believe it. I get into conspiracies because I feel that there is secret stuff that all of humanity should know that is constantly getting surpressed because of articles. It seems that conspiracies only get the boot from one place and that is the mainstream. I'd rather have a system that is not manipulative and truthful. I will do anything for this, and a system that cares about people instead of manipulating them to fight. I don't force my opinions out on people. I give them what I believe is the most truthful answer to what is going on to the current situation. I feel that the establishment is afraid of people who search for stuff like I do. If the person wants to talk more I do if they don't I don't. I also feel like I can stop some manipulation with my truth. I feel like a super hero trying to save the world sometimes.
