NYPD Stunner: Cops Exit Ebola Victim Apartment, Dump Gloves, Masks In Sidewalk Trash Can

Tyler Durden's picture

If there was one theme from last night's Cuomo/De Blasio Ebola press conference it was 'how everyone has been preparing for months' for Ebola. We can all be reassured, right? Wrong! As The Daily Mail reports (and these stunning photos show), the police officers involved in securing Dr. Spencer tossed their gloves, masks and the caution tape used to block off access to his apartment in a public trash can.

Not just any trash can, but one on a public street corner...

While it is unclear whether the police entered the apartment (which is now locked down and isolated), some are suggesting that for the sake of safety - not to mention public sanity - it would have made sense to discard of these masks and gloves and tape in a biohazard bag.

*  *  *

Seems like not everyone has been preparing for months (since August) for Ebola... no matter, we are all assured by Cuomo's reassuring words that Ebola is very hard to catch (just don't tell the hundreds of healthcare workers who have been infected despit all their precautions).

One job I would not do, even for a Goldmanesque salary, is be a NYC trash collector. Ebola gloves is not the worst of what is tossed in the trash, and then you add in rats, snow and ice, summer heat, crowded streets, etc..

I too am shocked at this behavior. Since when do cops bother picking up after themselves, let alone use a trash can?

I'm pretty sure the poor guy who died in Texas had his family with him for a couple of days after the hospital sent him home....living in filth.

No one infected.

But, no, DEAR GOD!
EBOLA MAN IS COMING, LOAD YOUR GUNS!!!!

But yes, Barry Obama is lying about this (I'm not sure why, maybe to coverup about some info about to be leaked that he is in fact the first lizard president or some other horse shit you people believe)

What you people are promoting is dangerous and harmful.

The biggest threat to this country and the world is if the outbreak in West Africa is allowed to go unaddressed, at which point the disease can mutate and spread more rapidly. Right now....it can't....it's why practically no one has gotten sick in the west (I know, i know, the gubmints lyin again....bastards)

For all practical purposes, Western Africa has no doctors, they need our help, and guess what? Again, it's in our best interest.

Fuck it, I'm done with this shit, I don't know I bother with people like yourself.

Think whatever the fuck you want.

What exactly do you think these doctors and nurses are doing besides providing deathbed care?  They are not curing anything.  Please stop with the hope bullshit.  At this point, you need to accept that the outbreak in West Africa is beyond reasonable intervention.  We do not have the resources or the expertise (as evidently demonstrated in both the handling of the Texas and NY cases) to deal with a pathogen of this nature coming into this country on a sustained basis.

You need to acknowledge that sending more doctors and nurses into a hot zone, who then bring it back to their loved ones, is an insane policy.  If we continue this policy, by pure unfortunate circumstance, we will get an uncontrolled outbreak of a disease with a 70% mortality rate right in our own backyard.

Cordone sanitaire, before its too late.  Which, by the way, was suggested months ago by medical professionals who dealt with previous Ebola Zaire outbreaks.  You know, people with practical real world experience.

Fact: right now this doctor is only the fourth person in the United States with Ebola. Fact: a sample size of four is not enough to conclude anything.

Were Duncan's family members tested for antibodies against Ebola? No, they were simply monitored for symptoms. They could have been immune.

So we really know excruciatingly little about this disease, except the fatality rate, about 70%. The little we know combined with a high fatality rate makes all the people like yourself look pretty foolish when they tell us with great certainty there is no reason for alarm. And you may ultimately be correct - I hope so - but fact is, if time proves you correct, it will have happened by good fortune and not by your superior judgment.

Or it is still possible that they are incubating the virus, the 2-21 day incubation period is simply a (95%?) confidence interval.  There are believed to be cases of 40+ day incubation periods.  This is statistically unlikely by now, but remains a possibility.  Also, we do not know about the "powerspray man" and other non-traceable contacts.  Though, everyday that passes without a report, is good news in my book.

A friend got this email from Amazon when he tried to order some anti-viral masks:

Order ID 110-5125092-5141058:
1 of Biomask Antiviral Face Masks [ASIN: B009R6W83A]

------------- Begin message -------------

We are contacting you regarding your anti-viral face masks order. because of new government ebola regulations we cannot ship this item to you as of now as the hospitals get first priority, because of this situation these masks are 100% sold out to medical facilities and will not be available before the month of december.
We can offer you a substitute from Medline, It is actually $8 cheaper. It has the same level of fluid protection and filtration efficiency. It just does not contain the antiviral components. We need an answer as soon as possible since even the substitutes are getting sold rather quickly.

Bats are flying rats.  Rats and mice split off 12 to 24 million years ago.   But rats remain very similar...to mice and bats.  Warm blooded.

Mice and humans each have about 30,000 genes, yet only 300 are unique to either organism. Both even have genes for a tail, even though it's not "switched on" in humans.

Once this gets into the urban ecosystem then rats will be the 'urban bats'.

I've read many European dishes have used rat meat during dire centuries (pies, etc.)

This video looks posed .

1.The cops do not walk in step , something that is drilled in them .

2.One is not on lookout . Both look down into the bin at the same time . Simply hard to believe anywhere of any cop pair .

3.They keep their masks on . Why ? To keep their identity hidden . There is no epidemiological reason . And masks are very uncomfortable to wear , and is the very first item discarded after entering a safe environment .

4.If that is their car (note they do not get in) , they are legally parked on an ultra-emergency call . That alone deserves a double query ??

5.The undergloves are different colors . Why ? Govt issue is standardised . One looks awfully like handknitted by a wife .

We are told the virus can live for hours on doorknobs and other points of contact. So obbvioulsy the smartest thing to do is throw out potentially infected articles in an open, public garbage bin, where anyone can come in contact to it.

Not even getting into the airborne potential for transmittal.

I am still waiting for an explanation from the CDC as to how the nurse got infected. They changed their story so many times now I can't keep track.

How long was the doctor working with Ebola patients in W. Africa, yet remained healthy and uninfected? I would assume, as a physician, he was fully aware of the risks and used all the proper protections at all times. He leaves Africa on Oct 14 and becomes symtomatic and is positive 9 days later in New York. So for however long he works in Africa, at ground zero of infection, he remains healthy. He leaves Africa and 9 days later is infected.

WTF happened in his last few days in Africa? Having remained healthy for his entire tour of working directly with Ebola patients, did he suddenly forget how to protect himself from exposure? Did he feel he just couldn't wear one more respirator when doing patient care? At what point did he breech his previously used protocols?

And another point. Why is there no news on the condition of the two Dallas nurses who were transferred to the CDC and NIH?

This is strange, because haven't we been told that most people traveling from West Africa to the US have stops in Europe first...

Bellvue is one of the 3 public hospitals in Manhattan, and the ambulance drivers are all paid/told to take EVERYONE there.  It's a cesspool, and before Ebola, I would have dragged myself out of there with only 1 working limb in order to refuse treatment.  Bellvue probably bid the lowest for the Ebola business, with .gov guaranteeing a certain minimum payment for being 'the place' for Ebola.  Now, I bet all the ambulances are still taking everyone there.  REcall they eventually shut down the DAllas ER.  If you were run over by a bike in Central Park, shot by a deranged cop, or hit by a falling crane, would you knowingly choose to go to the Bellvue ER, now that Ebola has taken over?

About the can of Ebola potential gloves, was that before disinfected or after?

No problemo, Abdul the local Ebola monitor will make sure the Ebola trash will reach a proper disposal site.

One cannot expect uniformed police to know the safety protocols of the CDC unless we make them aware of it. These police officers in New York

are doing what the state has asked them to do. The state is responsible for the lack of safety protocols in various industries and not the workers in those industries. Police are not social workers, engineers, Infectious Disease MDs, or statisticians. We on Z/H see the mathematics behind the numbers cited on Internet and MSM, but the police don't have that kind of time on their hands if they are on shift work. Police are not the bad guys/gals on the Ebola front lines. Police are to be supported throughout the entire Ebola outbreak. They are front line service sector workers that deserve our appreciation and respect for staying on-the-job during such a horrific national emergency as an Ebola outbreak. I, for one, support police when it comes to serving 'the people' during a national emergency that they had nothing to do with. New York police have a very tough job compared to most in society and it could be that they are deserving of a bit of grace when it comes to weaponized Ebola

contagion in a major metropolitan city of the world.

First responders are heros.  We need to support the people who are willing to go into harms way when everyone else wouldn't.  The police have heard mostly that it only spreads through bodily fluids.

0-Tard and the CDC Chief should go to the airports and be made to shake hands/kiss every person arriving from West African countries and welcome them to America, as they are getting off of the planes. Why wouldn't they?

Is it not safe for them to come here?

More proof that if you expect the government to save you in a time of crisis you are going to die. The government is not the most efficient organization in the world.  High profile incidents covered by the media often reassures the public that the government stands ready to rush to our aid in case of a national disaster.

Following a tornado or hurricane in the newscast we see FEMA workers spread-out and moving from door to door offering help to Americans in need. This reassuring media coverage is misleading.

Be prepared that in the case of a major crisis or disaster if you find yourself in an large area of devastation the government will prove largely ineffective. If and when a really large Armageddon event does occur we will quickly become acutely aware that God helps those who help themselves. More on why this pandering in disasters is really a disservice to all of us in the article below.

A major Ebola outbreak would be infinitely worse than the aftermath of a hurricane.

Many of the FEMA, hospital and emergency-response personnel will refuse to go to work. Anyone who has any access to the public will also phone in sick (police, bus drivers, taxi drivers, truck drivers, retail store clerks, etc.)

The only ones at work will be those "in the know" who really know what's going on; namely...a charade.

Are you sure about that? There were 1400 reported deaths from Ebola in the period from Oct. 1 to Oct 19. That is a rate of over 70 per day in just a small corner of the globe. And the actual death rate might be several times higher.

Who knows how many deaths there could be if Ebola escapes from West Africa.
