Putin To Western Elites: Play-Time Is Over

Tyler Durden's picture

Via Club Orlov blog,

Most people in the English-speaking parts of the world missed Putin's speech at the Valdai conference in Sochi a few days ago, and, chances are, those of you who have heard of the speech didn't get a chance to read it, and missed its importance. Western media did their best to ignore it or to twist its meaning. Regardless of what you think or don't think of Putin (like the sun and the moon, he does not exist for you to cultivate an opinion) this is probably the most important political speech since Churchill's “Iron Curtain” speech of March 5, 1946.

In this speech, Putin abruptly changed the rules of the game. Previously, the game of international politics was played as follows: politicians made public pronouncements, for the sake of maintaining a pleasant fiction of national sovereignty, but they were strictly for show and had nothing to do with the substance of international politics; in the meantime, they engaged in secret back-room negotiations, in which the actual deals were hammered out. Previously, Putin tried to play this game, expecting only that Russia be treated as an equal. But these hopes have been dashed, and at this conference he declared the game to be over, explicitly violating Western taboo by speaking directly to the people over the heads of elite clans and political leaders.

The Russian blogger chipstone summarized the most salient points from Putin speech as follows:

1. Russia will no longer play games and engage in back-room negotiations over trifles. But Russia is prepared for serious conversations and agreements, if these are conducive to collective security, are based on fairness and take into account the interests of each side.

2. All systems of global collective security now lie in ruins. There are no longer any international security guarantees at all. And the entity that destroyed them has a name: The United States of America.

3. The builders of the New World Order have failed, having built a sand castle. Whether or not a new world order of any sort is to be built is not just Russia's decision, but it is a decision that will not be made without Russia.

4. Russia favors a conservative approach to introducing innovations into the social order, but is not opposed to investigating and discussing such innovations, to see if introducing any of them might be justified.

5. Russia has no intention of going fishing in the murky waters created by America's ever-expanding “empire of chaos,” and has no interest in building a new empire of her own (this is unnecessary; Russia's challenges lie in developing her already vast territory). Neither is Russia willing to act as a savior of the world, as she had in the past.

6. Russia will not attempt to reformat the world in her own image, but neither will she allow anyone to reformat her in their image. Russia will not close herself off from the world, but anyone who tries to close her off from the world will be sure to reap a whirlwind.

7. Russia does not wish for the chaos to spread, does not want war, and has no intention of starting one. However, today Russia sees the outbreak of global war as almost inevitable, is prepared for it, and is continuing to prepare for it. Russia does not war—nor does she fear it.

8. Russia does not intend to take an active role in thwarting those who are still attempting to construct their New World Order - until their efforts start to impinge on Russia's key interests. Russia would prefer to stand by and watch them give themselves as many lumps as their poor heads can take. But those who manage to drag Russia into this process, through disregard for her interests, will be taught the true meaning of pain.

9. In her external, and, even more so, internal politics, Russia's power will rely not on the elites and their back-room dealing, but on the will of the people.

To these nine points I would like to add a tenth:

10. There is still a chance to construct a new world order that will avoid a world war. This new world order must of necessity include the United States—but can only do so on the same terms as everyone else: subject to international law and international agreements; refraining from all unilateral action; in full respect of the sovereignty of other nations.

To sum it all up:

play-time is over. Children, put away your toys. Now is the time for the adults to make decisions. Russia is ready for this; is the world?

Talk all you want, you can't hide how screwed your country is at this point. Claim Jupiter as Russian territory if you want, too. Nobody cares anymore.

except Santa. Santa's going to be pissed when his toyshop gets bombed just so Putin can show the world what a fearful badass he is.

Gref, talk some sense into this stooge will you?

I can usually find some common ground with most folks, possibly because there is almost always some merit in people whoever they may be. But I find it curious that I find the views of zionists completely abhorrent and irrational consistently on a variety of topics. They are so far removed from any concept of moral behaviour that it is simply impossible for me to find any good in them. Evil is a word I very rarely use, but I think it is apt in describing zionists who personify the kind of backward delusional exceptionalism without any depth of self awareness to their actions. One must note that many decent jewish folks (Yes they do exist) bear no relationship with these zionists who have usurped them.

It's a pity.

It starts in the Bible with Joshua: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=joshua+1&version=NIV

Start with Joshua:1 and keep on reading until you can take it no more.

TL;DR version: voices in Joshua's head granted ownership of already occupied lands that his armies proceeded to invade, destroying property, slaughtering men, women, children and livestock, and looting everything of value along the way.

This nonsense of a Chosen People in God's given lands is still believed to this day. Standard megalomaniacal psychopathy and pure evil, right up there with Muhammad's love for destruction, slaughter, rape and looting. Clearly, "thou shalt not kill", and "thou shalt not steal", penned by Moses (via the voices in his head) and carried around by Joshua, applied only to Joshua's in-group with every other human being fair game.

Pure evil.

Et tu, Mediocritas?

I'm talking here about a nation that explicitly claims the arctic for itself and is building out military installations.  Peace-loving indeed.

And refuting some doofus that is trying to convince everyone that the sanctions have lead to a golden age in Russia.

And you assclowns have yet again turned this forum into a Jew-bashing session, justified by action committed circa 1500BC.

Give me some junk for trying to NOT make this about Jews.

I didn't even read your post, I started at YHC's hence responded to him (not you). Something about his avatar always catches my eye.

As for Jews, my own sister converted to Judaism, plus I'm a scientist so have plenty of Jewish friends, colleagues and extended family. As far as I can tell, none of them actually believe in bullshit fairy tales or go around killing & stealing (or endorsing it) in accordance with those fairy tales.

The preferred Supreme Leader (or lack) of a violent asshole is irrelevant. What matters is that s/he's a violent asshole. I don't discriminate, they're all equal dickheads.

Besides, those guys weren't even talking about Jews they were talking about the belief system known as Zionism that leads to so much bloodshed. There's a difference between a race and a belief.

Finally, don't be the thread police dude, nobody likes the thread police and people are off-topic 95% of the time here so you'll never keep up writing tickets.

A reading above 50 indicates an expansion of the manufacturing sector compared to the previous month; below 50 represents a contraction; while 50 indicates no change.

- Trading economics

So if a country gets 53 previous month and it is 50 the next, means there isn't a change from previous.  A 53 of this month would mean it increased since last months 53.

I can give you all those nice links I did in the other thread.

You don't need someone's expert opinion when the market data is there for all to see.

Russia can't even auction it's govvie debt. 10y yields are at 10%. Russian corporates are a spread over that! And the debt is in euros and dollars--if you knew anything at all about business, you would realize you can't stay afloat this way.

REPORTED profits for Russian businesses have absolutely collapsed - check Gasprom, any business issuing a public income statement will show the same.

Fx reserves are in full run-out. It is so bad that BoRUS is having to consider hiking rates to keep the currency from collapsing further.

These are the facts, not some cooked up oped piece.

I on the other hand, provided links.  Should I also mention GDP growth was mentioned by the government of Russia?

That, and the bonds are government yield (so what).  Businesses sell shares.  Hence why Russia will only bail companies if they buy the shares.  Debt within Russia is actually in Rubles.  Believe it or not, but the entire economy internally is in Rubles.  All foreign debt may be US, but not all companies have such debt besides large companies, who can weather this quite easily (they can dump their debt).  No more foreign loans from west now anyway, so if they decide to default on them, too bad.  Wont make a difference for them.

When others claim Putin has the total support of those he rules without dissent it is because of not allowing any thoughts or speech which he does not want th hear. Before the down votes begin check out what happens if more than two citizens of Russia gather to display any belief which Putin wishes to crush, they go to jail. Now, does that sound like (incarceration rate and police murder) the free-est country in the world.  Ha!

I suspect that the US has had a series of weak (mentally and physically) so they could be handled better by those who do the handling. I don't think it is deep conspiracy but we do have a group that feels superior to the ordinary man and feels the need to control us.

This is enabled by the ability to print a reserve currency in unlimited amounts. The end of this status will be a very good thing for liberty, though painful. When leaders have to beg for tax money they become more attentive to the voters. Today they can completely ignore us.

This is the truth. There is a group of people that think they are better than others....they call themselves 'Elites'. How do I know, well up to about 10 years ago, I was a normal everyday guy, kinda clueless to some things in this world. I was having a pretty stimulating conversation with a friend who is a college professor (and she studied gifted children/education). She blantantly asked (and assumed) that I was an 'Elite' (I guess from my education, postion, knowledge, etc) and how I like my job of tellling other people what to do (manager/business partner).

I very quickly picked up on this and poked around a little bit with her. Her thoughts is that groups like us (she included me in her ranks) had far superior intellect and that it was our job to tell the other people of this world what to do......

This didn't sit well with me. I took it to heart that these types of people are out there and this actually started me down the path I am now on....I say piss on Elites. Each person is capable of making their own decisions....and if not, then they don't belong in the gene pool.

What Putin actually is of course, is a thug who kills any journalist that digs up uncomfortable truths about him. His success in reviving Russia stems entirely from the fact that Russia has a ton of oil and gas, and he took charge when prices were rising. Now they are falling. Why break up the speech like that? Just print the whole thing. It's a very good speech. And it's not directed at the US. It's directed at people who are clinging to these international organizations thinking that they matter. He's saying the US is making up the rules as they go. They've gone rogue. And what was once put in place to prevent a country from going rogue, the US is undermining.

It's a very important speech in international relations. Don't be so silly as to take a few excerpts.

Most people here cannot read Russian.  They read what is given to them and they believe it.  Russia is quite a pleasant country with plenty of industry (most think it is only oil and gas, when it accounts for around 25% of its consolidated budget).  But, regardless, people think otherwise here.  While average Russian (and many people in eastern Ukraine who use their products) knows otherwise.  I believe tsun su stated never to underestimate your enemy.  I believe Americans rely on underestimating their enemy just to make themselves feel superior.

"Previously, the game of international politics was played as follows: politicians made public pronouncements, for the sake of maintaining a pleasant fiction of national sovereignty, but they were strictly for show and had nothing to do with the substance of international politics"

Putin's speech was a reaction to the speech that Obama gave to the UN a few weeks ago where he stated that the world faces three threats: Ebola, Russia and ISIS. Obama made a very aggressive assertion there. And Putin came out swinging in reply.

But fuck all this war propaganda on both sides. Tone down this shit. This can easily spiral out of control. Or perhaps they want a war.

Paul Craig Roberts is good, but I have my doubts about Alex "ZioNazi" Jones.  If you look at 29 of his largest 30 radio sponsors, they are all jewish run/owned companies. This is like watching two trains slowly accelerate toward each other on a single track. Putin has essentailly backed himself into a corner. There's no turning back. If he is challenged and he backs down, that's the end of his political career. Knowing this, the western leaders should not put him in a position where he is forced to act.

What I'm saying is common sense, but most leaders are retarded, so I'm betting a war will happen. Everyone reading this, have you ever had a job where a boss accidentally forced you to quit? Example, you take a legit sick day and you get shit for it. If you call in sick in the future, you'll get shit again, but if you come in while sick, you're basically cowering to an unreasonable demand, so the only logical option is to find another job. I doubt Obama and Biden are smarter than the average boss. They might accidentally force Putin to do something.

Russia's increasingly finding itself in a tight spot.  Sure, it's got plenty of currency reserves, but those are being bled away at a frightening pace (e.g., Russia recently spent $2.5 billion during ONE DAY in a vain attempt at propping up the ruble).  Even Russia admits that these interventions can't go on interminably, for the obvious reason that Russia would go broke effectively trying to fight the market.

It'll be interesting to see how Russian firms handle the $140 billion in foreign debt obligations that are coming due in 2015.  Let's face it, next year is going to be brutal for them, as there are no good choices.  The funds might come from currency reserves, gold sales or perhaps taking on high yield debt (Russia's government recently sold bonds at nearly 10% yields).  Hobbesian choices, all.

Putin's anger at being upbraided by the West is surfacing, as Russia increasingly lashes out with military air displays in the vicinity of the US and Europe.

No doubt the sanctions cobbled together thus far will exact a price from the sanctioners, but it's likely to be a significantly smaller price for Europe than for Putin's Soviet Union V2.0.

From my conversations with extended family via Skype currently in Russia, prices have already gone up, particularly on imported goods, which Russians have become accustomed to.  It's only going to get worse.

Unlikely.  Remember, Russia hasn't just defaulted on its debt, it's defaulted recently.  Russia has a low debt-to-GDP because no one will lend to it except by being compensated exorbitantly.  Recall that Russia recently sold debt at almost a 10% yield.  The yuan stands a far better chance of settling debts in its currency than the ruble ever will, and even the yuan faces tremendous headwinds.

It can't be like the Soviet Union without more Jews leading the "revolution" for the peasants that they're about to exploit again.

Trotsky, an enemy of Stalin, was "the founder and builder of the Red Army," [DEUTSCHER, p. 192] and once the "number two man next to Lenin. " [NEW ENCYC BRITTANICA, p. 945] He was also Jewish, born Lev Davidovich Bronstein. Trotsky, Zinoviev, and Kamenev, notes Arkady Vaksberg, "alone formed the 'leadership nucleus' and had every reason to expect to inherit the mantle of leadership from Lenin. The man closest to the 'troika' (Trotsky-Zinoviev-Kamenev) after [Yakov] Sverdlov's death was Grigori Sokolnikov." [VAKSBERG, p. 19]  All five of these men poised to rule Russia were Jewish. Kamenev once told Trotsky (his brother-in-law) [WALSH, p. 440] that "It will be enough for you and Zinoviev to appear together on the platform in order to reconquer the whole party." [DEUTSCHER, p. 308] It didn't work out that way. Stalin proved to be a more ruthless and/or shrewd leader in the struggle for power.

Ever wonder why there's such an overabundance of Russian dash cam car wreck videos on Youtube?  It's because roadside crime in Russia is rampant, and ordinary citizens are looking to protect themselves.  I've personally experienced being shaken down by Russian "militsia" who were soliciting bribes from drivers.  Russian drivers are looking to protect themselves from the wide variety of scams, pre-planned accidents and even corruption FROM THEIR OWN POLICE FORCE, so they fight back with these inexpensive dash cams.

Imagine that...Zero Hedge's fantasy country - complete with impeccable Putin leadership - is a mecca of criminality and official corruption!

Amerikan Patriot: Ever wonder why there's such an overabundance of Russian dash cam car wreck videos on Youtube?  It's because roadside crime in Russia is rampant, and ordinary citizens are looking to protect themselves.  I've personally experienced being shaken down by Russian "militsia" who were soliciting bribes from drivers.

Nope.  They issue tickets in Russia as well, but because of the sub-standard wages paid to policemen and other low-level government workers, they like to supplement their income by soliciting bribes.

They've been trending away from the Jew World Order for a while:

The Moscow District Prosecutor's Office has dropped its investigation of RussianJewry on charges of racist incitement and distribution of anti-Russian material for having published an abridged translation of a 16th Century Hebrew text on Jewish law. Jewish leaders were summoned for questioning about the Kitzur Shulkhan Arukh as the apparent first step of a probe into whether all Jewish organizations should be banned in Russia.

Disbanding all Jewish organizations in Russia was requested in a January 13, 2005 letter to the State Prosecutor General signed by 20 members of the Russian State Duma. The letter was expanded into a petition signed by 500 well-known public figures, church officials and army generals in March. After being published in a St. Petersburg newspaper, the petition gleaned 5,000 signatures. It called the Jewish religion anti-Christian and inhumane, and even practicing ritual murder of Christian children.  --Wikipedia

Putin is one man, without whoever all those people and generals are behind him he would not be messing with Victoria Nuland/Nudelman and the so-called neocons in general.  Russians are going to wind up holding all the cards at this rate, if they follow through and do not sell out.  From 911 truth.  (Truthers) to the Holocaust archives from the old Jewish Bolsheviks... and perhaps a few documents about fake chimneys.  (Deniers and Truthers?)

Even if they sit back and do not do much more, the international net/internet is going to keep growing and catching Jewish oligarchs and their shabbat goyim crime families, given how sticky it is.  It makes it "difficult to govern" by traditional methods too.  What are they going to do about that?

This type of stuff doesn't seem to be working either:

Email intercepts that included the original copies of anti-Semitic leaflets distributed in Eastern Ukraine have now been shown to be part of an elaborate false flag hoax to sabotage recent US-Russian talks.

The hoax, a “game theory warfare” operation, was meant to “sucker punch” both Russia and the US.  If those responsible, in this case the New York based ADL, were caught, and they have been, there would be no consequences. ....

Representatives of separatist groups reputed to have issued the edicts not only denied any involvement but pointed out that the documents themselves were photoshopped and included seals from the previous government and imaginary titles for offices that simply don’t exist.

From an April 18, 2014 article in Russia Today:“A letter urging the Jews of Donetsk to get registered, which the US Secretary of State cited in Geneva, is a fake, says a man whose signature appears on the communication.  Following the four-side meeting on the Ukrainian crisis in Geneva on Wednesday, John Kerry lashed out at a letter that was allegedly sent to Jewish citizens in Ukraine’s eastern town of Donetsk, asking them to register and report all their property, or be stripped of citizenship and face expulsion.  PressTV

PressTV, so take it for what it's worth.  But it sounds like something straight out of the "Yellow Cake in their underpants" scam, in which they didn't even have the right official's name on the document or the date right.

By the way:   End all foreign aid to Israel.  Now.  Forty years ago.  Or before the USS Liberty "incident."  How long is this going to go on?

Putin is another Hitler... there again, Hitler was probably another Hitler before he even existed and killed the sacred "six million" Jews that died in a sacrifice made by fire that established a right of return to the Promised Land.

Only a goyim would ask why people believe in human sacrifice or if the sacred numbers that they believe in add up.  Goyim... translations seem to vary depending on the situation.

The Israeli social critic, Israel Shahak, addresses another example of this systematic deceit and dissimulation about Jewish history by noting the 1968 English-language volume, The Joys of Yiddish, by Leon Rosten. Shahak notes that the book

"is a kind of glossary of Yiddish [the Jewish traditional language of       central and eastern Europe] [with].... an etymology stating ... the       language from which the word came into Yiddish and its meaning in       that language ... The entry shaygets - whose main meaning is 'a Gentile       boy or young man' -- is an exception: there the etymology cryptically       states, 'Hebrew origin,' without giving the form or meaning of the original       Hebrew word. However, under the entry shiksa -- the feminine form of       shaygets -- the author does give the original Hebrew word, shegetz (or, in       his transliteration, shegues) and defines its Hebrew meaning as 'blemish.'       This is a bold-faced lie as every speaker of Hebrew knows. The       Megiddo Modern Hebrew-English Dictionary, published in Israel,       correctly defines shegetz as follows: 'unclean animal': loathsome       creature, abomination ... wretch, unruly youngster; Gentile youngster."       [SHAHAK, p. 26]        Edwin Freeland notes that:          "The etymological history of the word shiksa itself is instructive ... The        Hebrew word shakaytz means to abominate, to utterly detest. In the        Bible there are constant admonitions not to eat or take the shikutz        (masculine noun form), literally, the abominated thing, into one's        house." [FREEDLAND, E., 1982, p. 508]        For popular consumption in English, however, the word shiksa is usually carefully censored.

All the goyim/tribes usually hate each other yet once they figure out what a Tribe that perceives itself as transcending and capable of monetizing them has done... then they're united in hating that Tribe.

It's too bad, really.  There is a better way of uniting people into "United States" with a written Constitution, seems to me.  But that seems to be an artifact of history now.

This scene has been seen before. The moneychangers with the military industrial complex vs the reasonable. We are pushing for the next war and we won't stop. This play has happened for thousands and thousands of years. We are now reaching the critical point. The point of no return. In reading "The Sleepwalkers" it sounds very close as the US tries to pin down the Russian/China axis as Poincare/France/Gray/GB and Serbia tried to move Austria/Hungary and Germany into the noose. The results were horrible. Does the US/Israeli axis want to try their strength against the rest of the world. This is a very risky venture. The neoliberals are in thier nascent of power and will be replaced soon. Their arrogance is the first step in their destruction...and might be the destruction of our own country.

Western 'elites' managed to taunt Putin to the point of a line in the sand.

Diplomacy is cheaper than WWIII which will undoubtedly cost millions of

lives and will just fuel more crazy chaos to deal with in the long run. I don't particularly want to reside in the middle of two World superpowers that are ideologically opposed, and predisposed to acting in an adversarial manner towards one another. It is time for diplomacy to either put up or shut up IMHO.  War is not the way to go in contemporary society. We have education at our fingertips and there is no need to attempt dominating one country over another on a failed system and ideological stance. It is time to unite in terms of fixing the world markets and restoring ethics in business practices worldwide before the MIC is let loose to cull the herd. War is not good business, nor is there a business case for war, or estimates of what it might cost.

NOTE: Americans & Russians have to learn how to be friends rather than enemies or that will be the end of North America. Russia dwarfs

America in terms of numbers of possible soldiers to join war. If the USA prompts Putin into WWIII I am going to be miffed.

say what you will about Putin, haters gotta hate, but he is the only real statesmen left on the geopolitical stage. I watched his speech but the translater butchered it so badly I had to go back and read the transcript and what he had to say made more sense, was more revelvent to the way the world really is and was far, far more sincer than any of the mind numbing crap that is spouted by our trough feeding politicians.

he did set a very hard, very confrontational tone with Washington but overall still left the door open for diplomacy. I don't expect he feels that this is really an option at this point and who can blame him? NATO has done nothing less than brake every promise it made and continues to expand and is now knocking on the front door.

enemy at the gates indeed...Russia has been there once already and I'm sure plans to be a lot more proactive this time around. of course now not only is the west encroaching ever closer militarily but is also attempting to strangle the life out of Russia economicaly via sanctions. yet somehow Russia is the aggessor here? anybody who doesn't understand exactly why Putin snapped up Crimea the moment the euromaiden "agreement" fell through either wasn't paying attention or is just being willfully ignorant. he knew (or at least strongly suspected) that the US state dept was not going to allow anything less that the complete overthrow of so called pro - Russia goverment. lets not forget it was the euromaiden crowed and thier leaders who did not pause for even one second to completely disregard and blow past the pact that was agreed upon by all intrested parties including the EU. at that point Sevestopol was obviously at risk and the Russian population wanted no part of the complete cluster that was unfolding anyways. this was not a hard choice for anybody involved.

Putin lived the collapse of the old Soviet Union and he was KGB so he knows how to play the grand chess game. but more importantly he lived the hummilation the west imposed on his country afterwords, he watched Gorbi all but hand mother Russia over to the west wrapped in a bow and did nothing while NATO closed in, even to those former Soviet states that NATO and Washington promised were off limits. the final straw was and still is the plan to hem Russia in with this euphamisticly named missile defense shield that would drastically alter the balance of power in NATO's favor. so he modernized the military and applied all the tools he has to slowly bring some balance back to the geopolitical landscape, he has given Russia back it's voice and it's power in the world. he has also brought Russia's economy back to life and turned it into the worlds premire energy and natural resourse powerhouse.

that makes him a good leader.

the fact that he has managed to do all this without directly or indirectly invading and destroying a dozen or so countries and killing untold thousands of innocent people and avoiding, so far, WW3...

that makes him a pretty decent man, as those who wield power on the global scale go.
