Martin Armstrong: "At What Point Does Revolution Take Place?"

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Martin Armstrong via Armstrong Economics,

confused

Reuters has published the result of what is being touted as the Ignorance Index. The one question as an example: “Guess how many U.S. girls aged 15-19 give birth each year. Go ahead, guess. If you calculated the number at 3 percent you’re correct; if you guessed 24 percent, you’re American.”

I rarely watch TV. If I do, it tends to be national news – never local that think a burning house is news or some guy shot his wife in a domestic dispute. I was at dinner and the TV was on. I could not believe the TV advertisements for the elections. They are all NEGATIVE calling the other a liar or misrepresenting the facts on everything. One said the candidate cut the number of police, made the streets more dangerous and then shows a picture of ISIS and then said she raise taxes. Then the very next advertisement flips and calls the other a liar for something or another. There was ZERO advertisement about anything other than vote for me because I lie less that the other liar.

It seems that the Ignorant Index may be more tied to the bias and lack of integrity of the media. They focus on sensationalism to gain readership and in the process focus of one thing and create false images in the minds of the average person.

A classic issue is immigration and Muslims. Americans, according to the Ignorant Index, “significantly miss the mark on the proportion of the population that is comprised of immigrants, guessing 32 percent against the true number of 13 percent. Americans also overestimate the number of Muslims in the population, 15 percent versus only 1 percent in reality, and underestimate the number of Christians, 56 percent to 78 percent. ”

Pulitzer Joseph

It seems as if the problem is not that Americans are ignorant, they are being fed nonsense by the media to sell newspaper and TV advertising. We have fallen into a cycle of Yellow Journalism that was begun by Pulitzer. It was Pulitzer for created the Spanish-American War by making up shit to sell newspapers. The famous Pulitzer Prize given by Columbia University is named after the father of Yellow Journalism – go figure!

One good place to start is OUTLAW negative advertising. COMPEL political candidates to state what they stand for rather than calling their opponent a liar. Then if they do not vote for what they profess and knuckle under to party rule, that should be FRAUD and time for a vacation in the “Big House” (Penitentiary named after a place you were supposed to be silent and do penance).. We seem to elect people for no reason and then wonder why nothing changes. Obama’s vote for me for real change has been a joke – he kept the same people Bush had in place. This is why polls place politicians at 7% trust factors. The days of Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Maggie Thatcher who at least stood for what they believed in regardless of what people thought, are over. They were at least ethical.

At what point does revolution take place? It does not appear to be a percentage in our review of history, but the economic trend. In other words, turn the economy down and the percent of discontent rises exponentially. So beware – not ghosts and goblins, but politicians 2015.75-2020. So perhaps Americans will wise up only when the economy turns down and the Internet provides a greater proportion of real news compared to mainstream media. Indeed, the younger generation under 40 rely on the internet and those who subscribe to newspapers or watch the TV news are diminishing rapidly. This in itself will be a dynamic shift that restores freedom of the press and only then perhaps we will see Americans rise in the Ignorance Index.

If you don't mind, I'd like to say something about the emerging Ebola crisis. This talk of banning travel to and from west Africa, largely emanating from the right, is absolutely categorically racist. The west has pillaged and exploited Africa for centuries and hasn't even begun paying reparations. We should be building cities for Africans and giving them free education, housing, clean water and food. But instead the west is talking about abandoning them Africa they need us the most. Ebola is OUR fault - WE are the ones who subjected Africa to centuries of poverty, malnutrition and poor hygiene, and it is WE who should be fixing this mess, not innocent Africans. Open your eyes and hearts people.

Wow!  Gotta love Armstrong's idea of a "revolution".  Let's use a government entity to suppress free speech.  As awful as mud-slinging dirty campaining is, it is still constituted as free speech.  Why is this garbage posted on a libertarian leaning site?  Absolutely dreadful.

I would take a totally asleep America over some of these dreadful ideas posted as "solutions" anyday.

Yeah booboo, Armstrong calls for a "revolution", yet under his proposal the very same politicians he distrusts are now going to regulate what a fair campaign ad is, and if a campaign ad isn't good enough the candidate faces PRISON TIME??? What the heck is this doing on zero hedge / fight club??? The incumbents would remain in power forever under such a scheme because any possible opponent would be thrown in a government cage.

I would expect to see this crap on Foreign Affairs, Faux News or the Washington Post, not on a libertarian website.

Then most of the replies on here are some red herring of 2 obese ladies sitting in a pickup. It's not those two ladies' fault that there is no resistance against bankster occupation. It's my fault because I'm too apathetic to do anything about it. It's the fault of the commenters on here for being too apathetic to do anything about it.

I see what MA's proposing more like the laws regarding truth in advertising.

Yes, we know companies tell lies about their products or, at a minimum, embellish the virtues of their products, but if Coca Cola advertises that drinking coke for a few years will add 3 inches to your cock, people might agree that a law against such advertising is warranted.

That said, who stole my fucking Coke?!?

Armstr0ng again...fucker must have a publish button that goes straight to the top of the featured page. Damn ZH editors - are you guys so hard up for click bait you keep pushing this guy? Whatev. Gives me another chance to raise my NWO minion stalker quotient.

For new peeps, a source checking observation:

Martin Armstr0ng was the gopher boy for Brit Neocon Sir Alan Walters. Armstr0ng's mentor was a card carrying member of the NWO. Walters is dead now but when he was alive this is how Walters spent his time:

> Monetarist econ advisor to Margaret Thatcher
> Adviser to the World Bank
> Vice Chairman of AIG Trading Group
> American Enterprise Institute

AEI, you may have heard, is the HQ for the NeoCon NWO Goat Worshipers who are responsible for damn near every bad thing happening in the world right now.

Armstr0ng's writings show he is trying to keep that NWO flame alive, doing his part by highlighting one side of a manufactured conflict. A manufactured conflict brought to you by his handlers in NeoCon central - the American Enterprise Instute. They have spent years pushing their Hegelian dialectic, order out of chaos game plan.

If you don't like the AEI you really won't like their scummy Atr0ngish partners over at the Husdon institute: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0295vks

Armstr0ng is one their minions. He may have arrived at this point against his will, via bribery, coercion etc, leveraging his trouble with the law. The outcome is he is a sold-out neocon pet and therefore a professional shit disturber.

Over the past three years Armst0ng is portrayed as a"voice of knowledge" on this site (and others). He typically posts three paragrahs and a few pics for impact.

Who is this guy and where did he come from? Why should we listen to what he has to say? Peculiar - he never calls out the banksters.

Caveat emptor amigos.

Outlaw advertising things like car insurance, health insurance, hospitals, pharmaceutical drugs that only doctors can prescribe.

If advertising costs the consumer more, doesn't benefit the consumer, and is for something only available in consultation with a doctor - why waste our money on it?

for the record, I am merely pointing out the massive disconnect that allows some folks to come over all mythical,

I understand what you say. I remember when I was going to church regularly. The service was beautiful and the singing angelic. I felt so close to God many times. Then I would join these same people at coffee afterwards and they gossiped and bad mouthed their fellow parishioners they had just been singing with! I was so incredulous and confused. I realized I must discover the answer and went on a personal pilgramage.

The Love I described is no pretense. It is the result from releasing of my personal inner demons through a long arduous path. I have found something that was buried deep inside me that had been squelched and I hadn't realized it. My mission is to help others discover this in themselves but, sadly, I cannot do it for them. It ultimately is a journey alone. I have an allegorical story I wrote about my path. It is deeply personal but I would be happy to share with you.

Retracted.

/////

Ok, un-retracted, I was just gonna say, only a dog (and other animals) can hear a dog whistle but I didn't want anyone to think I was calling a Cat a dog, because I wasn't so...the PC meme of "dog whistle" is a ridiculous construct from the start if people can't hear it and is only used (the meme) to shut people up.

To inflict shame or guilt on the person(s) its used on, that is the real purpose of the term "dog whistle".

Thanks nmewn, I had the disquieted feeling you had gone soft on me. I would not have taken in the way you had suggested. Men are so careful to not to offend women today because they tend to look at words only rather than meanings or inference. I do this myself occasionally as well. " dearest, did you just call me a dog?" Look of horror with big saucer eyes. I laugh at my checkmate. The look turns into relief and the back petal " Of course not! Why do women always twist our words!" " Sorry, can't resist a good tease."

I guess I don't take myself so seriously. Maybe that's the key to not being so easily offended.

Miffed;-)

Well, I have always gone out of my way to not offend women in general, being raised in the south its cultural I guess, just good manners. I'm one of those guys who still opens the door for ladies I know & don't know (young & old) and expect nothing in return but a smile or a thanks for a kind gesture.

But I am aware the practice can be turned around and used against guys like me, to call us chauvinists, just for showing a simple courtesy.

And thats ok too, a thick skin and a narrowing of the eyes lets the "offended" know what one really thinks of her without ever having to say a word ;-)

Dear nmewn,

Thanks for the response. It has placed me at ease. However I think you have touched upon an issue festering in society now that has caused such strain between the sexes. Several men here as well as those of my personal acquaintance have discussed with me the difficulties being a man today in a world of radical feminism. In the beginning I had trouble fully appreciating what they were trying to impart ( I think I am living in a sweet ignorant bubble) but after their prompting, I have journeyed into the world of MTGOW and the manosphere to see their prospectives. What I have seen has troubled me greatly.

There are rules of love and war that have been honored since the beginning of time. These have changed,IMHO.

When a soldier goes to war, it is necessary to equip him adequately to engage the enemy he will face. A genteel respectful man assumes likewise in the women he encounters today. I believe the uniqueness and femininity of women is being purposely eroded in favor of an aggressive, power seeking agenda couched in " equality" but has underpinnings of domination. What I am saying may seem fantastic but I believe you must have had some experience with this perhaps at your work, interactions here or your personal life. My eyes have been opened.

By this I in no means wish to imply women as second class citizens, not capable of courage, strength and leadership. I myself am very feminine, flirtatious, comfortable with who I am ( I have been told by men I have a strong sexual vibe) but I am also very strong, honorable and respectful. I have always enjoyed the presence of men, their unique perspective ,though often different from my own, balances mine. More and more I have experienced a reticence in men now, fearful in revealing their true feelings because of so many personal attacks by women saying these characteristics are wrong and must be obliterated. Men should be who they are as should women be as well and there should be an honor and respect between them as to their uniqueness.

As I am sure you remember, you were my initiator into fight club. This delicious smack down upon myself has grown into a good cyber friendship with mutual respect and understanding over the last 2+ years. I hope this is not one sided. But the question does beg. Would you had done what you did had you known I was a woman? I am guessing not. If I am right, the relationship we have now may never been realized.

Freedom of interaction can be foundational to a deep friendship between men and women as well as vehement hatred. I believe it is worth risking the one in hopes of the other. Especially in a forum such as ZH.

In friendship always,

Miffed

well nmewn, words are words and it takes an individual to define them each from their own perspective(s).  which everyone has - a perspective - and no two are exactly alike, even though much mimicry and groupthink lingers.

for the record, when I use(d) "dog whistle" I do it in this context:

". . .to make an innocuous statement which is designed to trigger previously indoctrinated bigotry & hatred without being recognized by outsiders for bigotry or hateful speech."

adding the meme you mention above, of a "tone" that calls the dog to place, hence the fact that certain posts at the top of a thread will garner massive upvotes, when the rest of the thread barely registers - it's no big deal, that's just how the internets "work", heh.

so I don't frame the meme "dog whistle" as "PC" - though I understand why you do, and how from your perspective it works.  everyone has a line that when crossed, trips their wire.  one of mine is the use of "other'd" folks to point fingers at and mock, instead of addreassing an increasingly out of control "reality" experienced - so much easier to mock the obvious!  and there is much bonding that happens when something/one is singled out to be mocked by a group-think.  Orwell's "two minute hate" is a prime example, and it happens here daily - enough that many other posters will use that meme to point out the group behaviours. . .

my stance was simply calling out a repeat, intentional derail, using emotive pictures snatched from the interwebs bearing zero relation to the OP, with the poster's added spice of pretense towards a "Christ-like" persona.  which apparently is how "Christianity" works here/in amrka, as most here just accept it as normal, emulate it even.  grade school bullying dies a slow death in amrka. . .

that kind of bullshit needs to be occasionally called out, in my opinion. I mean, what would Jesus do?  hmm,

"words are words and it takes an individual to define them each from their own perspective(s).  which everyone has - a perspective - and no two are exactly alike, even though much mimicry and groupthink lingers."

Which is why I asked if the picture had been of two guys in nut-huggers, would you have made the same big deal out of it...perspective.

"my stance was simply calling out a repeat, intentional derail, using emotive pictures snatched from the interwebs bearing zero relation to the OP"

It does have a relation, they're obese and wouldn't make good fighters, the topic is revolution ie war. My "perspective" wasn't gender based. For example, some of the Kurdish fighters around Kobani are women, deadly & fierce as hell and none of them are obese.

"that kind of bullshit needs to be occasionally called out, in my opinion. I mean, what would Jesus do?"

I don't think anyone has a problem with you sharing your opinion, its just that not everyone shares your perspective and didn't see the picture as an attack on women in general. Most women (and men for that matter) aren't morbidly obese.

Not sure why you're dragging Jesus into this but I never would never attempt to say what Jesus would do on any hypothetical. For one thing its borderline blasphemous, for another its just your perspective to begin with.

as per usual, you're intentionally ignoring what I posted above - the "reasoning" behind my post, which was not a re-action to the actual picture of "two obese women" - but an avowed Christian who loves to come over all holy on some threads and then use his picture-posting privileges on ZH to derail commentary threads.  and the majority of the pictures he posts - not all, the majority, okay? - use "women" as targets to shame or hate on - as I said, many times, upthread.

but yeah, whatever.  this is not about me being a "progressive feminist" or whatever label your hive-minds like to apply before reply - I was just calling out those who love to come over all godly occasionally, but whose majority posts are hating on others.  for me, that's a disconnect between the preachin' and the lives lived.

if you're not sure why I "drag Jesus into this" then you're just not paying attention, or you're conveniently ignoring the whole picture.  SANDRA FLUKE!!

oh, and I acknowledge my perspective is different to most here.  once upon a time Fight Club encouraged this, but FarceBookJesusClub prefers the gang-think up/down votes nao. . .

I'm not intentionally ignoring anything. The words accompanying HH's pic are:

"Most Americans are already revolting."

You decided he was talking about women only because he only posted one pic, of two lard ass women.

And here you do it again but more directly:

"if you're not sure why I "drag Jesus into this" then you're just not paying attention, or you're conveniently ignoring the whole picture.  SANDRA FLUKE!!"

Now, just what does the perpetually easily offended, self entitled Sandra Fluke, wanting the government to stick a gun in my face and force me to pay for her birth control, while she attends $50,000 a year Georgetown University have to do with Jesus Christ?

One would think that she and her boyfriends (now husband) family the Mutterperl's could have foregone their trip to Barcelona, Spain and bought a lifetime supply of birth control pills if they were so preoccupied with how the pills could be afforded. But maybe having me buy them FOR HER saved her (and them) enough to donate to her election campaign out in California.

$500,000 is a helluva lot of birth control pills there Cat, she apparently must be eating them like friggin tic tac's just to make sure.

Wink and smiley face all the way to the poorhouse on someone elses time.

lol, tell me the cheque's in the post, nmewn - I opened the door for yet another airing of your Sandra Fluke prepared rant!

ever since you followed me around the threads randomly "shouting"

SANDRA FLUKE!!!

until I got you to explain WTF you actually meant - I don't do "news", truly - I like to drop those words into my rare replies to you, a kind of tourettes, if you will - and inevitably, you bite!

I wish you could get over your stereotyping of me - it's years old now, and still you drag it around.  I've repeatedly told you I don't do politics, or voting, or "feminism" or religion, none of the above.  my opinions and ethics arise from my lived experiences, I don't buy 'em pre-packaged off the shelf.  I barely participate in any nation's backstoried expectations, and certainly not any culture's expectations for me as a "female".

I do, however, have a tendency to indulge in poking holes in the "holy" - particularly when they belittle others whilst espousing the jesus memes.  this nationstate reeks of religious-flavoured hypocrisy, and I wish more folks would start pointing fingers.

I used to take hella downvotes and flack here when voicing my opinions on not revering amrka's volunteer military actions in the world, not "thanking" soldiers for their "service" (for whom, and towards what end??), and I'm happy to see many others - including those who've served - are stepping up to say the same.  maybe a few more young folks will be dissuaded from signing up. . .

the same with duplicitous "believers" - if one truly "believes" in their chosen religion, fine, live your truth.  but don't show up hating and expect respect, at least not from me.

as to this,

"Most Americans are already revolting."

You decided he was talking about women only because he only posted one pic, of two lard ass women.

slippery, as usual.  maybe HH talking about his revolting "American" family or revolting church group?   or maybe, just maybe, he used the picture he chose to illustrate the words he also chose.  maybe he's got a habit of posting similar pictures and similar hateful snark, in between his personal "contributor" posts about how to act more godly.  you want to make excuses, go ahead.  none of this means shit in the overall picture, and we're just entertaining ourselves with pixels here.

same as it ever was.

Those two ladies are obviously helpless victims.

The patriarchy made them shove all those big macs and mountain dews down their gullets.  The partiarchy is to blame for their negative body images.

And now they're being victimized again by all these microaggressions; without any trigger warnings to boot.  Don't these people know that grotesquely obese is the new black?  Oh, the humanity.

dude, there's "been no revolution" because there's still shopping to be done!  moar guns, ammo, and everything else on the long lists, which now include "hazmat suits and N100 face masks" - before it was potassium iodide and geiger counters, and before that it was SARS face maske and vaccines. . . amrkns are programmed to "buy to survive". . .

I didn't watch your link, but I will say - there will be no revolution, the "culture" is too fragmented to bring together anything more than mall shooters or in-house family "suicides", maybe a few "end timer" mass kool-aid sipped as they head for greater glory.  everyone is waiting for "someone else" to "revolt" so no one will in the end.  just more shoppin; and "buggin' out" in place, if even that.

no, the pot will continue to have the heat turned up, folks will continue to shop for preps, and the "revolution will be televised" in a thousand tiny cuts until the bleed out. . .

An article about why there is no revolution in America, and most of the replies on it are about a picture of two obese women sitting in the back of pickup truck.

And to think the guy that posted that picture accuses me of logical fallacies. Talk about a red herring, that's the finest example one can possibly get.

Even the so-called "awake" ones on here fall for distractions quite easily.

As usual, I'll get downvotes for being serious, and the guy who cracks jokes that have little or nothing to do with the topic at hand gets all of the praise.

Carry on.

I believe HH posted this as a reflection that those who are like this are unable to participate in any meaningful way in a revolution. A while back I would have said this was over the top and grandstanding but now those two are not unusual in the patients I see every day in my work. 50+ BMIs are really not that shocking anymore I am sad to say. Basic physical fitness is foundational to even contemplate participation in revolutionary change don't you think?

I still think you care too much what others think of you. Your post appears to be petulant to me but I don't think you intend it to be so. Self doubt?

Oh dear that was funny... Must resist laughter. Shame on me. The hate is spewing forth once again. Oh well, what's a few more turns on the spit?

Years ago one of my first traumas was a woman who shot herself under the chin trying to commit suicide. The respiratory therapist was having a difficult time administering oxygen because it was leaking out the hole in her skull. He pulls me aside and whispers " now this is what I call a real air head." I burst out in uncontrollable laughter. Feeling horribly guilty for years I shamefully confessed what I had done to my riding buddy who was also a priest. He damn near fell off his horse he laughed so hard. I was incredulous! When he finally composed himself he convinced me sometimes this is just the way you can get through the stress of the moment and it really had nothing to do with disrespect. As a counselor for the military he found many with misplaced guilt in this regard.

I grew up in the middle of the Mojave Desert.  I would go on a walk (hike) by taking a line of sight reading on a hill seventy miles away and could keep tabs on my progress by visual positioning of the rounding of the San Bernardino Mountains and the open desert, as well as the mining operations behind me (visible for 100 miles at night).  I know exactly where I am, physically, anywhere in the world...I can be blind-folded, spun to dizziness, and can point to physical north...everywhere in the world...except Northwest Florida.

I once was the first professional hire for the new county meat wagon (in Apalachicola, Florida) and had already spent five or six years as a volunteer for Gulf County.

Instead of working in Appalachicola, I was first sent to Carabelle to stay in a private residence owned (or rented, never got that deep, was more concerned about the filth, sanitation, loaded weapons [ie, pistols of all sorts everywhere] and the couple's one year old son that was just learning to walk and eat cockroaches.)

My first run was to a busload of kids-- where one female was having trouble breathing, and the bus had pulled over in front of some oyster shack.

I get on the bus and there's this girl, maybe sixteen, a little hottie that would have been any school boy's dream (at any age). She's panicky, gasping for air, and complaining of chest pain. I asked her if liked the football game...and she nodded...did you do a lot of cheering and screaming...she nodded.

The meat wagon driver was behind me and I asked him to go to the oyster shack and ask for a plain, paper school lunch sized bag. He runs off.

I talk to the girl to calm her down, and try to get her to tell me I'm the prettiest man on the bus (she's got this hunk next to her that would make Adonis jealous...and even then I looked like a sixty year old trying to act twenty)

Adonis is a good kid, concerned for his girlfriend and he picks up on the ridiculousness of me flirting with his girlfriend and starts chipping in. The kid's a natural smart ass, of course.

The girl starts to relax a little.

Driver comes back with a paper shopping bag...close enough.

I wadded the sides down and told the girl I wanted her to take a minute to see how nice it was to be as weird as me. Told her to put her head in the bag and ler her boyfriend hold the sides around her neck.

Adonis saw I was being serious and he shut up and gently helped. Through the bag I told her to relax, shut her eyes, and start to breath in, hold it, then breathe out. Repeat slowly.

Chest pain and panic disappeared.  Simple hyperventilation.  Meat wagon driver thought I was Jesus incarnate...though I may be the single cause of erotic-asphyxiation.

Next run, two hours later, we went ten miles down a dirt road in the WOODS (emphasis needed to enforce we were really out there...with actual bears wandering by, wild hogs going through the yard, snakes, gators, and everything else out of Marlin Perkin's 'Wild Kingdom'...we were out there.  So far out there that the lady's 40 year old son had walked the ten mile road then another three miles to the nearest payphone to call for us.)

We get there and we've got a 55 year old lady who appeared to have had a stroke.  She's glazed, non-responsive, and the right of her face drooped.  She's black lady in a shot-gun shack/shed with two inch gaps between the slats, and a pot-bellied stove to heat the entire place.

Son had put her on the stoop when he started his hike to 'keep her fresh' then had brought her back inside once he caught a ride most of the way.  (I still can't believe the shit I wrote on my logs back then.  There was no law enforcement involvement because no crime had been commited so we had to record pretty much everything we were told.)

We load her up and take her to the nearest hospital, which I had no idea was near, nor the hospital name...I was so lost in those woods I'd still be there if not for the driver.  All I know is I'm monitoring the patient and logging vitals. After an hour or so we stop and I can sense we're backing up.  The rear doors open and the driver is there telling me to kick the gurney latch.

I'm at a place I've never been before, in extremely dense fog, surronded by enormous pine trees, in a town I'm unfamilar with, and I have no idea where I am in the world.  All I can see is a faded sign painted on wood that said "EMERGNCY".

We get inside (remember now, this is before massive government intrusion into healthcare and health insurance).  The lady is sent onto a bed and the nurse asked us to stay for a bit to monitor her because she had another patient to attend to.  After a minute the meat wagon driver says..."I'm going down the hall for a smoke."  And off he goes to some hospital shithouse for the next hour. I'm mentally calling him a bitch because I'd like a smoke too but I'm stuck monitoring this poor lady that was left on a porch for five to six hours in 30 degree weather who may have had a stroke and is still pretty unresponsive.

Twenty minutes later this chinese gnome walked in.  There's no other way to describe him.  He stood about three feet eleven, had this mustache/beard combo thing going on between his face and crotch...cigarette on a stick like a phto os Roosevelt...oh, and easter bunny pajama's and a pair of nasty tennis shoes (back then we didn't have brand names, they were just tennis shoes.)

The gnome comes over and physically pushes me aside.  (I towered over him with an awesome five foot nine inches, but my 135 pounds was no match for his weight.)  He went around, reading charts, came over and demanded mine (I assumed, at that point, that he was the fairy god-doctor) so I gave him what I had.  He read my notes, started laughing....then ordered me to follow him.

"You," he said, "We Go."

So we go.  I follow Dr. Gnome to his lair in the hospital and, it truely is a lair.  He's got pin-up girls on the walls, there's beer cans everywhere, liquor bottles...a cot that reminds me of a mix of boy scouts and Marines....the fart sack/bottom sheet looks as if it's been in place for at least ten years, and the blankets are lying on the floor.

I'm suddenly so comfortable with this gnome I finally ask "Who the fuck are you?"

He says, "I'm Dr. [forget his name, let''s call him 'Chin'] Chin.  I run this shithole.  Who the fuck are you?"  (Everything he says is in a superich, original immigrant accent that is difficult to understand initially.)

Me: "This shehole?  What's a shehole?"

Dr. Chin:"What's a Shehole, you a vilgin?  The fuk wong wid oo?"  (to get a sense of the discourse)

This gnome fucker got me tickled.  This little asshole was making fun of my misinterpreting his fucked up accent by thorwing it all back on me.

I told him who I was and, for some reason he had heard of me, knew most of the small town type shit that everyone used to know about everyone else.  More amazingly, he knew of some of the things I had done as a volunteer. (The counties border each other and it used to be a pretty small world.)

We're suddenly best buddies.  I still have no idea who 'Dr. Chin' is, I'm a more recent import than his ass is.

'We're here," he said in my bad Chinese dialect, "because the sheriff is bringing in and selling this new drug."

Me:  "New what?"

Him: "Yes, that lady only needs one thing."

Me:  "She needs a what?"

Him: "SHE KNEES ONE THIN!!"

Me:  "What?  Her knees?"

Him:  "Muthafucka?"

Me:  "Whu??"

Him:  [suddenly clear, speaking like a canadian] "She knees Chinese Injection!!" (Proceeds to rock back and forth graphically)

I lost it.  Dr. Gnome in his little cave of a shithole, in a rinky-dink hospital, who knew pretty much all my shit...I started laughing til I thought I'd shit myself.

Dr Chin simply smiled...until I stopped.

Him: "This is the leal wolrd"

Turns out we were in Appalachicola.  I was there about sixc months until the ambulance owner's husband tried to kill her, then me, when I stepped in to stop it.

I need to redefine
All the things I hate today
Politics that fail
From a president derailed
I hate the shitty economy
It might as well be sodomy
I know that in the end
I'm expected to pretend

But I can't relate
To your verbal idiocy
No one's in control
When the government's the enemy

So light the fuse
Impose your views
Consfearacy
Is anarchy

Actions of hostility
Breeds conformity
Annihilation will begin
Extermination from within

So light the fuse
Impose your views

How I see the world today
Seems another war

It's only mind pollution
There is no resolution
Still I know that in the end

That I can't think for myself
Living off someone else
Half-hearted smile
While you look the other way
I can't relate

I'm sure his god is proud of his divide 'n' rule tactics, and his ZH account picture posting privilege gives good page hits too - win win!

((though he's missing his lamenting chorus today:  ohhh, why are the women so means and hatesfull??  I needs a hug!))

Cathartis, you sound angry, bitter, and resentful.  I am sorry.  Maybe you should talk with someone?  Unfortunately, I cannot stick around to chat with you, tonight, because I am going out with my wife, taking her dancing, while the children are out having fun with their friends.  I hope this will help:

We often experience resentment toward other people when we find it hard to forgive them and hold onto unspoken pain.

Whenever we feel we’ve been treated unfairly, judged, or wronged, we have a very powerful internal reaction.

The emotions we experience are strong. We feel them intensely and deeply, because they challenge us to reassess the self-image we hold of ourselves.

The unexpressed painful emotions we experience as a result of other peoples’ actions have the potential to transform into resentment if they are not released in a healthy, effective, and timely way.

Resentment lives inside us, feeding on our negative feelings and emotions. It becomes stronger the longer it is ignored. It can mutate and develop into a warped veil, which prevents us from seeing the world from a healthy, balanced perspective.

If left unresolved, resentment has the power to be all consuming, and is very effective at fuelling anger.

In turn, unexpressed, internalized anger is a ticking time-bomb which can lead to abusive or self-destructive behavior, or a combination of both.

Resentment is a very personal and private emotion, as it has almost no effect on the person it is directed toward.

lol, yes, psycho-analyse me, since there's very little Fight Club in evidence any more, just FarceBook pics and emotion-all check ins.

dude, you've been posting pics for years now, tattling on your black women neighbours ("I know she can walk, but she's in a free govt scooter"), and many other tall tales told with pics, pure "see something, say something" police state tactics to stir the trollage here.  and STILL you come over all "godly" occasionally - what gives?  there's a disconnect between your professed beliefs in the words of Christ, and your choice to act hatefully towards other humans.

but you go ahead and point the finger at me, as I'm so "angry, bitter and resentful" - not unlike most of the people who post here, eh?  and I'll continue to call you on your two-faced Xtian shit, you and others who spout hate while quoting scriptures.

this place works for you, and you appear to work for this place.  bravo.

don't forget to take your phone-camera tonight - never know who might need patrolling. . .

I'd summarize this whole episode as:

That pic was DISGUSTING [no hate to the photographer nor models intended ~ just simply something that I didn't need to see]

Afterwards ~ for the whole episode to be blown up into the merits of potential veiled hypocritical militant Christianity versus Friday Night squaredancing revelry with Jack & Diane...

Well ~ all those topics are above my pay grade

Notwithstanding ~ I suppose the debate actually SUCCEEDS in inching us closer to where the FLASHPOINT OF REVOLUTION actually ignites [in some strange universe].

Peace :-)

"At What Point Does Revolution Take Place?" is the title of this article.

Well considering zero hedge is (probably now was) the top website on the entire internet that I know of that is opposed to bankster occupation, and the comments on an article about revolution are about obese people sitting in the back of a truck... we are done.

I used to read comments on logistical planning. Buy silver campaigns. Join a credit union campaigns. How to opt-out campaigns. Advice for getting off the grid. Local legislation that needs support. I mean there was wealth of good suggestions in years past to actually fight the banking system.

Lately its facebook memes, neocon talking points, and tabloid clickbait.

I used to just read zero hedge since 2009, and never needed to comment because there was too much to learn. I joined recently to post, because I noticed the direction of the comments was getting very poor.

I'm down for jokes, and love comedy myself, but looking around at these comments lately, it answers the question why the revolution hasn't taken place yet... if ever.

As far as I'm concerned, there will be no revolution because the opposition has been successfully co-opted into submission. A.I. will rise, singularity will be met, and fat people will be least of the new cyberleaders' problem because they would have been assimilated or euthanized long ago.

I know it's funny. Ha ha. But the rise of A.I. is what we are up against. Everyday on drudgereport, he has links to articles about Silicon Valley's latest rollouts. We are just sitting here making fun of the obese and the EBT crowd, meanwhile a matrix is forming around us, and we are not participating in its development.

We have been reduced to spectators and even the tip of the spear against the agenda has been reduced down to middle school level wisecracks.

I'm just frustrated because I want a better world for humanity, and I want to do something about it. When I collaborate with others, they get so easily distracted by petty non-issues, that it is hard to even get off the ground.

What do you guys think it will take to get a positive revolution going?

HH did the same attention grab on a ZH thread a few days ago, turning a story of a woman getting arrested for not mowing her lawn into an "anti-abortion" derail, complete with a pocket palm fetus pic that apparently is all the rage over on FarceBook - I'm sure his wife's account (linked here in the past) there comes in handy for acquiring emotive visuals.

and, as my previous post notes, he has a history of inappropriately posting pictures of local folks, with attendant commentary often including personal gossip - which in the current evolving police state should NOT be getting all the high fives of posters here, but yeah!

it's truly pathetic, particularly when all the holy posters support him in his divide & rule tactics, targeting "minorities, fatties" and all the usual names applied to "others".

there are still some good posts here, but the amount of totally vacuous crap that fills threads daily doesn't really distinguish ZH from any other site, and often it's a bore to scroll through the repetitive childish drivel.

It's basically every man to him self, that's the stark reality of it. If you put this board up on a piece of 4'x4' plywood, and then start throwing darts at all of the diffrent directions the posters here take, there are so many strides and tacks that don't even coorelate together. How could there be a revolution? Jesus, we can't even agree on who's butt looks nice. And we're talking revolution. The problem is known, the method of dealing with it has been obfuscated from day one.

We could nevber get together to organize a revolution.

Our only hope at national communication is the aforementioned "yellow", liberal, govt media.

I think the first shot of American Revolution II was already fired.

It was a group of stalwart Americans, joined together to voice their disproval of corrupt politicians and WallSt inequities.

But that movement (Occupy Wall St) which had national following and interest, was soon discredited as trouble making students and unemployed.....

By the govt run media.

Perhaps some of you were even convinced.

People are going hungry.  Luckily they have family to lean on.  I think it should have already happened and because it hasn't yet, it likely isn't going to.

If a day comes where there is no TV, starbucks, cell phones, et al, they we may see something that begins to look like a revolution, but it will also be for the wrong reasons.

@casey13 : You are absolutely correct.  As long as the unemployment checks and SNAP cards are mailed out on the 1st of every month there will be no revolution.  However, if you have 90,000,000 people dependt on these services, should they stop, it would be anarchy in the streets.

Been to a supermarket lately?  $40 for one bag of groceries that contains no meat and most of what I bought was on sale.  Right now food stamps are holding down the fort--can't wait to see what happens when Repubs get control and start cutting social programs.

can't wait to see what happens when Repubs get control and start cutting social programs.

...and they will too.  Nevermind the bailouts.  Nevermind the Federal Reserve lending us our own currency at interest. Nevermind all of the real estate speculation driving up home prices to unaffordable levels.  Nevermind the dead end jobs.  Nevermind the ACA which the GOP leadership has done NOTHING to curtail.  Nevermind the one-way border with Mexico.  Nevermind the sucking sound that Perot warned about when running against Bush/Klinton.

It's all the fault of working class poor getting $400 a month on EBT cards.  The GOP and their fellow travelers are blaming them for all of America's financial ills.  And I read it all of the time on here too!

Champagne corks will pop when the social programs are cut.  Bailouts will continue.  Corporate welfare will continue.  GE and Verizon paying $0 in taxes will continue.  Facebook being tax exempt will continue.  The MIC will continue.  But my poor old friends getting $400 in EBT to supplement their $10 an hour jobs to feed their families, they will be the first on the Austerity chopping block, meanwhile Goldman Sachs bankers are out buying a new maserati.  They are successful, my friends and neighbors are failures.  If only we rubbed shoulders with someone in the Northeast and got a connection to Citi or Goldman and learned the tricks of the trade on high finance, then our "hard work" would actually contribute to society,

Until then our college degrees will land us $10 an hour jobs unloading Chinese made goods in a warehouse, or laying tile in a mcmansion that some retired-at-45 cop on a pension bought, or washing dishes at a restaurant that our paycheck cannot afford.  If only we did real work like lending 1s and 0s at high interest rates could we get out of this rat race matrix.

It's ok though.  Republicans have conservative values and miss the days before Cook could come out of the closet publicly while keeping his career.  Gay marriage is the nnumber one issue in the world, or so I am told by my right wingnut pals who happen to be on their second or third marriage,  It's ok because Henry the 8th under his divine right of kings made it no longer a sin.

/end rant trick or treaters are here!

Sorry, but at this late stage of the programming, it's their Distractions (removal of) that will push them over the edge, although food for many is a distraction...addiction.

We're talking about "heavy" Psycotropics, which one out of every four Americans is on, in combination with their TV, texting, smart phone, etc., etc., etc. ad nauseam. You take away their mind altering toys, i.e. cold turkey 'em, and the one out of every three who is obscenely obese, along with the rest (under 30 "PC" crowd), will put those who stormed the Bastille to shame...downright medieval.

RIGHT NOW we are in a pre-Revolutionary atmosphere.   70% of Americans describe themselves as "angry" at the gov't, Congressional approval ratings are lower than those of Ebola, etc.   The gov't knows this an is arming the cops with military gear and letting them murder people daily without consequence.  They spy on us instead of the Chinese and Russians who have openly called for our destruction.   They have profiled US citizens but refuse to profile terrorists.  Now we have NO LEGITMATE ELECTIONS meaning that we the people have no voice, no say, and no means to peacefully change the direction of our country and gov't.  There will be a powder keg moment, and with the election machines changing votes from republican to democrat all over the country, it might just start after this theater we call an election.
