Did QE Work?
This week saw not only the end of QE but an unending parade of told-you-so talking-head willing to proclaim not only QE's success (unemployment ~6%, stocks at record highs, corporate profits at record highs) but to scoff at the naysayers warnings that post-QE stocks will slide since 'the whole rally has been driven by central bank liquidity' because "see, stocks are ripping higher post-FOMC."
Obviously they fail to see the link between extraordinarily low rates (enabling cheap-funded financial engineering), printed money (repressing investors into buying stocks), and the fact that stocks are surged after another central bank - the BoJ - unleashed another round of even bigger insanity.
To those that suggest QE was a victory, we have words and pictures...
If it was so successful, why did they stop?
and does this look like the chart of a successful monetary policy action?

It depends on who you ask.
So, does the Fed get a first-round draft choice?
Ya, and they drafted a white-haired midget dude that looks like a lady.....
"white-haired midget dude"...I think "troll" better describes her...
And they still want all here to believe the Illuminati mantra...
"...stupid, inept, government mistakes....they don't know what they're doin'...."
If you think this...then you will be the object of "the plan"...
It's all going according to plan...the grand majority of the globe was screwed inside out with no Vaseline....
Those here that made some crumbs and think they're part of the "in-group"...are delusional....
Mission Accomplished!!!
OMG - like have you seen how big Kim Kardashian's ass is?
Whom you ask
It depends on what your definition of "work" is...
It all depends upon the meaning of "It all depends on what the meaning of 'It all depends upon the meaning of (It all depends upon the meaning of [It all depends on what the meaning of {Insert Krugman here
It depends on whether their definition of "work" works.
Boggart, and he would say: PLAY IT AGAIN SAM!
It depends. Are you paying me or someone else?
What do you mean no? Money markets are trading at low, if not record low spreads. What do you think QE was for, to help the man in the street?
And if that weren't enough, gold has fallen what, 30, 40%, since 2011? Governments & their bankers are truly masters of your universe.
It worked pretty much how it was intended.
Right.
It bought all of us more time. It kept the stock market from crashing by propelling it to new, all-time highs.
But it gets demerits as it did not concoct a cheap way of fracking oil shale.
"It worked pretty much how it was intended."
Yeah, but this time everyone is watching.
It depends on what your definition of the word "is" is.
High Food Prices Lead to Trade-offs Even in Upper-Income Households - WSJ
Tyler asked if the top 10% of earners can sustain our economy. My answer is an unequivocal NO.
The top 25-30% can't sustain this level of thievery.
Well, um, errr, you know...
Ah Fuk it, I got nuttin...
It works for the NWO.
Did it actually end?
(NO)
TPTB got exactly what they wanted out of it.
more they print - closer the end come.
I think that they - USA, EUrope, japan - print together, so if BOJ said - we print more - they ALL print more
That's exactly right. Japan is a valve attached to the FED.
The BoJ owns 40% of the Japanese bond market. Who do you think owns the other 60%?
Yup. And you know what else? The average Japanese person is extremely averse to stock-market bullshit. The average Japanese salary man has savings at the Post Office and actual cash at home in a little safe. That's it.
Mrs. Watanabe isn't happy.
Yencross
Do you live in japan? If so do you have a sense for the popular mood there regarding all this Abe financial bullshit?
No, I just spent 6 weeks traveling the Pacific Rim. FWIW, Most of your up-votes have been from me.\
I might have to re-access my thoughts.
The average Japanese person has purple hair and is living off the "Postal System" KAMPO.
It was never intended to work
Just to make the insolvent solvent?
Yes. Bailout few democrat bank lobby oligarchs, Warren Buffett being the first
Do you think it has ended?
In my view, yes.
Military is enraged at bankers
Thanks for your perspective.
Those marking this comment down, I'd like to hear why...
He didn't say - for whom - for banksters it's working perfectly.
Ah!
It was intended to work, not for the little people, but for the blood thirsty, power hungry Oligarchs. Ekm1 comment implies it was solely for destruction. At least that's my take.
yes
It was designed on purpose to shrink the economy and increase real unemployment, which it achieved
There was no other way to bailout Warren Buffett and Bank lobby insolvent oligarchs
Somebody show me proof that QE has ended.
Oh, that's right, we're not allowed to audit them.
What is the % employed compared to working age? Say 16 to 70 year olds for that time scale? If people now have less children that they did previously then it could be even worse
% employed? That's so pre-1970(welfare state). People don't work anymore. They collect SSI and complain to strangers about their fibromyalgia while the illegals do the work. At least, that's common place around here.
Why do sovereign countries such as US & UK, borrow money from private central banks?
Why doesn't the treasury print their own money? Bradury Pound
Also, do politicians know the difference between debt and deficit?
It's all just a dog 'n pony show; g'ment contracts awarded to their bezzy mates, e.g. Obama Care, High-Speed rail, Trident, NHS PFI's, etc, etc.
Why do sovereign countries such as US & UK, borrow money from private central banks?
- all major banks - private or chained to private. game over
The Fed. won't keep printing. They would be perceived as "monetizing debt" .That practice is great for Japan, because the yen isn't a reserve currency.
The current deficit is about 1/2 trillion dollars, and the Fed. realizes that faith in U.S. debt can be jeapordized with " debt monetization".
I'm not saying they aren't already doing that.(it's just not public knowledge) The debt ceiling debate comes up again soon, and I guarantee you, it's going to be a big problem for policy makers.
"debt ceiling debate"
I thought they removed the ceiling; much like debating the length of a piece of string, but can always assert it's twice as long as from the beginning to the end.
The cap was removed for just 18 months. The February 7th date postponed it until after the midterm elections. The blues and reds didn't want it an issue for the midterms.
All the cocksuckers are complicite on both sides. How can you have a deficite if you don't have a budget? How can you have a budget if you don't have a balance sheet?
This "musical chairs" printing game is going to end horribly
There is only 2 way how it will end -
First one - USA isolated from the world
Second - very very bad end
Pretty much.
"Just ask my fan".
History repeats itself, the solution is their template...poverty -> disease -> war.
From the top-ticks of 1929 markets, once enough suckers were invested, they pulled the rug. It then took 10 years for WW2, enough time for 'them' to prep and bunker down in their caves.
They play the long game, but the end is always inevitable; nothing better than building Tomahawks to blow up a wooden shed to regenerate an economy from scratch.
WHAM - Winning Hearts And Minds, but it's just a game of cutting grass, from whence they left, it always grows back.
Just keep your eye on Algeria and/or Baku, Azerbaijan, the last bastions of the purest black gold.
Glass-Steagall the cunts...simplez.
there are more billionaires than ever and that's all the fed cares about
Sell all float scams, raise cash and buy gold. Invest in private companies.
Ones where you know the owner. Ones where you can look in from time to time and see how it is going.
Nothing really matters,
Anyone can see,
Nothing really matters,
Nothing really matters to me.
Anyway the wind blows.
Many more of the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody work for mad printers, but this gets to the point.
Maybe they are not crooks and thieves. Maybe they know we are dying and don't want to tell us. So maybe they are just "Staying with it for the children."
Bwah, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

Love that song, love Metallica. Lot of memories there. Good taste sir, good taste.
Thank You.
Why would you tell "anyone listening", what you think?
Difficult to read that article. I think I agree, but it's structurally confusing. Of course, it might be me. Pass the _______ please.
That graph at the bottom is exactly what the S&P would look like without QE. A perfect head and shoulders top played out. This is proof that when you don't intervene directly with a system, technical analysis works. But obviously, employment wasn't the real target, so I supose it worked as planned. But, given a long enough timeline...
AE 9/11 Truth researchers plan lawsuit to seek release of 500,000 documents held by FEMA, NIST
Dual mandate? Look like they failed at both.
QE = Socialized Losses Vs. Privatized Profits.
Top 1% have been Jerking-Off to QE since '08....
As sure as sh&t Fed will cry for another QE.
So the 1% can get richer along with more poor.
Thanks Fed good job so good why don't you give us another one.
Success isn't measured by the number of peons working, its measured by luxury car sales and art auctions.
The Fed was born to create debt and will (ironically) die from the weight of the debt they have created.

Unfortunately, I think QE did work. It just didn't work the way we were told. What it did do is give almost unlimited amounts of FRN's to the insiders, which will be used to buy up all the real assets.
just as o'bama's presidency is a huge sucess, BIS's qe's are huge sucesses, americas political, and financial systems are broken, and the citizens are being weakened to very dangerous levels.
never lose track of the truth, the fed., boj, ecb, and 2 dozen other central banks, and good % of politicians in these countries work for the BIS..
the BIS. has a, world qe somewhere tactic.
the qe boss, (the BIS.), told the fed. go under-ground, the exposure is killing us, we'll get the boj. to take the heat off you, because what can the japanese do.
we can't use the qe through the ecb again yet, those europeans just haven't fallen into place yet.
