Venezuelans, Argentinians More Satisfied With Life Than Americans
On average, people in advanced and emerging economies are considerably happier with their life situation than those in developing economies even though people in emerging economies are considerably more satisfied with their lives today than they were in 2007. However, as Pew Global Research survey shows, socialist utopias Venezuela and Argentina appear to be populated by a greater percentage of 'satisfied' people than 'American Dream'-ers in the USA. Perhaps the socialism-isation of 'fair' America is the right path to happiness?
Emerging Markets getting happier... and Developed getting less satisfied...
Leaving Venezuela and Argentinians more satisifed with life than Americans...

so if the mexicans are soooo happy they must be being kidnaped and forced to work in america?
>>> Venezulean chiquitas
>>> USSA hoes
Sure, if the chiquitas had as many dicks sticking out of them as were stuck in them they would look like a porcupine
And that's unique these days, because..........
It's what you don't know that kills you. You ignorant fuck.
Bueno..., las chiquitas venezolanas toman su BELLEZA en serio, pues...
Maybe that's why they do so well at all the "Miss Universe" contests...
Venezuelean and Argentnian women versus American women at Wal Mart.
The only reason that i might want to go to Wal Mart is to see the 3 foot tall Mexican children who weigh 300 lbs. In Mexico, they were malnourished years ago but at least they were not poisoned with GMO and corn syrup.
I am dum in business but know a few things on this topic.
on average Colombians,Argentines and co are hotter than Americans.
That doesn't mean shit. You always want to have what you don.'t have.
I would just love a curvy_ _ barbie for a change?Who wants to bang hot Latinas their entire life ?
MNKD Jan 2017 3.000 call

Michael Hudson:
As of 1976, Argentina had a total foreign debt of $18 million, 17 percent of GDP. The military came in in ’76 with U.S. government support, established a junta. By 1983, the debt had soared to $48 billion–by a factor of seven.
You had the U.S.-backed military dictatorship that ran the debt up into 1983, but then, in 1989, you had another neoliberal takeover with the Washington Consensus, and they adopted the U.S. dollar as their basic monetary reserves and tied their money supply to the dollar.
That essentially drove the country into debt because it brought on an economic collapse by 2002. That’s why the government was voted out and why the Kirchners came in. So you have a destructive neoliberal government coming in, driving the country into debt, ’cause that’s what neoliberals do.
There’s a U.S. legal doctrine called odious debt which says that if you have a debt that’s contracted by a military dictatorship, it doesn’t necessarily have to be honored.
We invoked it with respect to Cuba in 1898. It had acquired a lot of loans from Spain, and nobody could account for where they were. But this odious debt doctrine had never been applied to Argentina.
Interestingly, … in 1976. Martínez de Hoz, the finance minister at that point in time, a very conservative guy, decided that Argentina would waive its sovereign immunity for purposes of all this debt that it was beginning to accumulate and allow the United States and the Southern District of New York to be the [siphus (?)] for all of these cases.
So those two very fundamental changes made by, essentially, a military government, first of all blowing up the debt out of proportion, and then relocating the judiciary outside of Argentina, is very important for what we’re seeing all the way forward to 2014.

“If you ARE NOT going to read do yourself a favor and skip all the clichés by outright liars, just brazen propagandists that you find in journalism and academic professionals. The world is much more complex than that.” -- Noam Chomsky
I Live in Argentina and holiday in playacar and I wouldn't work in the Usa even if kidnapped.
Really, really good statisticians could probably find all kinds of problems with this article. I found that people I dealt with in both Argentina and Venezuela were not very happy at all (years ago, bet it's even worse now).
.
<black market, shh...>
Real free markets...shhh ;-)
whythefuck are you guys whispering?
Cornering the market.
Welcome back Dochen did you miss us
Didn't miss you guys at all, Magoo... Because I was reading all the time! :)
But, I will be gone, one way or another before long I imagine.
The Tylers (how dare they!) ignored my polite request to delete my account.
How happy can you be if you have no toilet paper? Seriously...
double ply left hand
"How happy can you be if you have no toilet paper? Seriously..."
On the other hand, if all you want from life is toilet paper, you're easy to please. Congrats.
Act civilized. Arrest those fuckers with over 10 million and throw them into prisons for being primative financial perverts. Arrest them and redistribute their ill gotten gains into a publicly owned and operated open source crypto-currencey system. Outlaw banking. Stop the cancerous growth of financial FRAUD.
Why ten million? Why not just shoot everyone with over a $Million$...
Ok, but you'd have to shoot everyone in Zimbabwe! Everyone there is a billionaire.
If you make $25,000, you're in the 1% on a global basis.
Every Yankee Dog on welfare would get shot right along with us.
They never tell anyone that do they? ;-)
Nope. When my Progressive buds out here start their income redistribution and global fairness shit speeches, I point out that number and they shut the fuck up, real quick. They used to challenge it until I forwarded then some UN (or some asinine international organization's data... World Bank, whatever) data. Now I demand they give up their CA state sponsored pensions and medical care to the poor starving foreigners. Then they get annoyed. Then I tell them that they'd best make up some shit about what they do for a living because telling people they work for the state is gonna be about as popular as Goldman Sachs. And that they shouldn't get their pensions. But work to death like the foreigners, too. Tell 'em that for a sympathy vacation they should go fucking pick strawberries.
Yes, Knukles, but do keep in mind that the figure likely does not take into account purchasing power. $25k goes a lot further in developing countries that in the West.
Note to self: Look into visiting Sierra Leone for vacation and doing a buy, drive and ship home deal on next Jaguar.
lol...what?
No driving government vehicles home from "work" and using government gas cards to fill them back up? No pensions? No basically freeeee! health insurance? No nine weeks paid vacation and carry over to the next year(s) sick time?
Gawd the humanity!
Get this!
One of them is such an environmentalist that he seriously suggested his agency lease all the top guys Teslas because they're fuel efficient.
So I asked him why he just doesn't take the bus.
He said it was inconvenient.
I pointed out that super close to his home was a bus commute park and ride stop......
Nope.
Doesn't seem I'm very convincing about this shit
To drive home from work ,one has to assume that they go to work in the first place, which many gov't workers do not do...
We certainly have lots of room for fixing banking & Credit if we can't Outlaw Banking.
Repost:
Hey another angle is how Bankers Play hardball with Credit to keep people and countries like Argentina down. See IMF Story below someone posted how China and Russia are gaining influence.
Banks get to create money out of thin air, so why are they such assholes.
- Imagine building an Alcohol Still Business, getting 5 years to perfect the processes and get into distribution network before having to repay the Business Loan and no Taxes till you are profitable.
- If we want to build manufacturing, let's look at banking terms, why do banks have to be so tight with money, and then they get to gamble on Wall Street or in London?
- Who says Bankers have to rule the world, make the rules, and provide Credit, Run our Credit history, set interest rates for Tuition Loans
- We know TBTF Banks are supporting the Giant Corporations in every way possible... and working against new manufacturing in the USA
- NAFTA, CAFTA-DR, WTO, other treaties, Free Trade, NTR all support the biggest bankers
- Public Banking might be an answer
- Auditing might be an answer, get NSA & CIA to Audit Big bankers and push them out of the System, also push out our politicians & Lobbyist
A perfect timing for Argentina to resist against the money market tyranny
Latin America to open the road for other countries to escape from debt slavery
http://failedevolution.blogspot.gr/2014/08/a-perfect-timing-for-argentin...
You're a pathetic socialist, wanting to just incarcerate people with money who've accumulated it due to success. How about we respect private property and have freedoma nd captalism rather than letting mommy government make even more decisions for us. I'll support myself and would prefer to keep my money, thank you, so hands off. Go have fun at the next occupy rally dumbass.
Most polls are deliberately misleading and/or aggressively stupid,
including the ones cited above.
I'm going with deliberately misleading on anything coming from Pew.
+ 52 Senate seats...
;-)
Starting to look that way, then its our responsibility to not go all Orwellian on their asses. Outside of forcing Bloomberg to personally fund my Guns for Inner City Seniors Program of course ;-)
Tell ya what's gonna happen if the R's take the senate.
O will go fucking bat-shit, his narcissism will just fry their circuits
Then he'll start blaming everything on the R's.... they won't do shit, etc., boo hoo game
And start full fucking bore executive order madness.... Y'ain't seen nudffin', yet.
And an exec order can only be overridden with a 66 2/3% majority.
Good luck
He will absolutely revel in that outcome.
Obama does not need "Immigration Reform". /LOL
He can do it himself.
<--- Ugh, Michelle again........
She loves you. As will Hillarity
<--- Yikes! Again!
Peru is looking better every day...
Awww, it'll be fun watchin him go full meglomaniacal retard.
We've never had a prez with 16% popularity ;-)
Me likey. My ammo will be doing better than my silver, which..
isn't saying much.
Shit hurts don't it? Believe me, I know.
The coincidence of QE "ending" and a surprise announcement by the BoJ (especially on a split, narrow vote... 5 to 4 was it?) and a fucking monkey hammering of the PM's is anything but. It was a global liquidity hand off from the Fed to BoJ. Coordinated.
And don't forget: Paul Volcker reminiscing about the Plaza Accord: (something like) "We didn't intervene in the gold market, but should have."
Trying times.
Cue the Mastercard commercial...
52 Senate seats.
Budget Reconciliation.
Obamacare defunded.
Priceless!
They're using facebook status updates to measure how happy with life those ppl are...
And, naturally, we know that Facebook would never manipulate any study...don't we!
and does it need manipulation? with all retarded narcisistic posting on facebook about how their lives are perfect and full of joy?
Actually, "socialism" in some form or another has been a pretty consistent feature of South American countries, so this isn't the new factor here. If these folks are indeed happier today, then it is more likely to be a result of their limited access to world markets, and their inability to finance "growth" through 'investment' (borrowing), as these ARE fairly new...
I'm looking back several years to see what has changed...this is the biggest item I could find, most-likely to exert an influence one way or another...
Things that make you go hmmmmmmm....
They have incompetent governments.
This enables the more resourseful to exist outside of the "system" without too much interference. That's what keeps the (underground) economy going.
Socialism is what happens when there is a lack of corruption in the Government. Clearly they need a Military intervention. We can't have all those people owning homes, being gainfully employed, with free health care... AND happy...
Yeah, and apparently they've managed to construct something that has given them a greater satisfaction than we have here in America...that's the thing I go hmmmm about.
It's like we're the Grinch who took the trees and roast, packages, boxes and bags of global capitalism away, only to watch as Christmas comes anyway to the hated Who's...
Obviously the answer is to allow polling agencies to TELL us how happy or satisfied we are. We don't need no stinking elections.
Maybe their presidents aren't killing their children like ours is.
http://dailycaller.com/2014/10/31/obamas-border-policy-fueled-epidemic-e...
Greece advanced? Not anymore.
"Unlike Greece and its puppet government which are fully surrendered to the Western capital which systematically destroys the country to benefit from this destruction, Argentina and Latin America approach the resistance side:"
http://failedevolution.blogspot.gr/2014/08/a-perfect-timing-for-argentin...
And while we look at meaningless poll results, gold gets hammered another $6 as the dollar climbs still higher.
Gold (paper gold) is down $8 now...
Ugh! Ad to the left of me asks if I stood with Obama! Ad to the right has Michelle urging me to vote Democrats on Tuesday!
Good thing the election will be over soon.
You didn't make that price of gold go down.
It's all George Bush's fault.
If you like it to be George Bush's fault, you can keep it George Bush's fault.
You didn't write that comment.
(or)
Yes You Did!
Now down $10 and silver down 2%. Could we be in some sort of capitulation selloff?
Life's just getting started. Don't Worry. Be Happy. Don't get your shorts all knotted up around the sticky brown part like I have all weekend. This is enough to make one want enemas at your foster home, again
You're framing it in dollar terms, so don't sweat it.
Its $424,454.38 Zimbabwe paper notes! ;-)
Life just hasn't been the same since they stopped making the Twinkie.....
And once you get used to monkey-butt, it's not so bad.
So, what it all boils down to is this: the more incompetant your government is, the happier you will be.
The US government just isn't incompetant enough...yet.
If Hillary gets elected she'll fix that real quick!
Meet your next president.
Venezuelans and Argentinians are more satisfied with their lives because - whether they realize it or not - folks actually prefer obscenely high inflation rates and even more dysfunctional governments than the Obama administration.
High inflation is fine as long as wages for the people keep up or exceed it.
Sad that here in the states we have hyperinflation while wages have been frozen for thirty years thanks to our Chosenite economic model...
The purpose of high inflation - it is by design, of course - is to steal from the citizenry. That theft can't happen if the average citizen's wages rise above the inflation rate. In fact, there is no instance in any country of high inflation being overcome by a concomitant increase in wages (which obviated the inflation).
100% pure shit - any advanced economy resident who wants to relocate to Argentina or Venezuela has my blessing and good riddens to an asshole. Go there, live there, and learn.
Some of us do live there and actually prefer to live way far away from you chosenites...
I would visit Argentina to see what rent costs in Patagonia... if Gold went to $10,000 an OZ.
I am very happy for you and us.
Happy is when a massive heart attack occurs and your off the planet. NOW THAT's HAPPY. Cheese Steak extra meat and cheese please.
<<< Want Gold at $1000
<<< Want Gold at $2000
Kirk's ZH Happiness Poll.
How do I vote for $55,000?
:p
My lone greenie again?
$600 sounds better long term ;-)
"Today we deploy, and in November and December you will see that we have guaranteed a happy Christmas for the people," he said during televised remarks.
The move is part of expanded effort to combat chronic shortages, smuggling, and runaway inflation that are putting great stress on consumers in the socialist Latin American country. The new initiatives come as Maduro's approval ratings have plunged into the low 30 percent range, and his party prepares for congressional elections next year.
If you want socialism so bad ,, please go there and enjoy their utopian life.
I'm presuming the Isreali version of ZeroHedge is lamenting how Mexicans are happier...
ZH,
Please don't start printing such outright factual BS on your site. I mean, the people in Venezuela can't even buy toilet paper and their store shelves are almost always empty. Argentina had 40% inflation by the government's numbers last year, which means it was really a good bit higher. Next these same researchers will be showing numbers that show that the Cubans and Haitians are also really much happier than Americans. Oh yeah, and cows fly right!
ANYBODY with the name "billw" gets my automatic green vote.
Betcha ain't a coincidence. :)
What an inside joke!
Good on ya' DoChen.... And I personally guarantee, it just keeps getting better and better.
So far your comment re better and better is 100% true!
I have never been to either place, does there 24 hour media fill you with ideas you should buy crap you cant afford to make you happy? That is why a lot of Americans are unhappy. Too much keeping up with the Jones'
Happiness self-reporting is baloney. It relies on nationalistic pride or cultural biases (in some countries like Japan or Sweden, admitting you're unhappy is simply not done. In others, national pride will push you to false happiness claims).
Hence, the nationalistically proud "happy" (and fleeing) Mexicans.
F CUKING BULLSHIT ZEROHEDGE!!!!!
Your are satisfied in my country Argentina if you are a public employee (civil servant).. if you are an honest
entrepeneur or employee of an honest business you are screwed over here. Don't even want to think
about crappy Venezuela and their planet of the apes government.
For the rest of the idiot that writes this article go and do your daily praising to Marx and Mao!!
Freaking minions of global governance.
