The Associated Press and other press outlets have agreed not to report on suspected cases of Ebola in the United States until a positive viral RNA test is completed.
In other words, the mainstream media has agreed not to report on any suspected Ebola cases.
I guess the Ebola czar has been a busy boy, after all ... you know, preventing panic and all that.

Another crucial question is whether the virus can be spread by people who do not show symptoms. For months public health officials in the United States and elsewhere have insisted it cannot.
But the possibility of such "subclinical transmission" remains very much open, said Dr. Andrew Pavia, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Utah.
Health officials emphasize the importance of taking the temperature of those exposed to Ebola, since people are not thought to be infectious until they run a fever of 100.4 F. (38 C). But at what temperature patients start shedding virus is not definitively known, said Dr. Michael Hodgson, chief medical officer of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Environmental mysteries also remain. Scientists do not know whether foam, gas, or liquid decontaminants are most effective for cleaning surfaces that might harbor Ebola. Nor do they know whether it can survive in sewers where, said Paul Lemieux of the National Homeland Security Research Center at the Environmental Protection Agency, rats "might pick it up."
Meanwhile political powers presume all of these unknowns will not turn out to be dangerous, and ignore the ongoing and rapid spread of the disease in West Africa.
The reason that it's no longer in the news is simple - the circus moves quickly from town to town.
Haven't many of you noticed that news stories get blown out of all proportion for a few days/2 weeks max before a new story takes its place.

my god, this is something even the most dimwitted can comprehend: a government that actively suppressives news of possible infections, is a government that will actively suppress news of actual infections.

A) our present government is composed of people who are so venal and stupid that they will readily destroy the credibility of the press for the sake of a single election.

A bio weapon would be better if it behaved in a more predictable pattern. I can remember the discussions from the last time around. Ebola takes too long to become fatal, and the fatality rate is so high that it would kill off the local hosts before it could spread, I think that was how it was seen at the time. And contrary to popular supposition, there is no control mechanism for bio at this point. Not a good weapon if you can't aim it.
I think the MOX at fukushima was stupidity, not military conspiracy. Some idjiot thought that would be a great fuel extender, and they could make even more money that way. FAIL. I wonder how it will all mix up, down there in the water table??

The theory that it "escaped" rather than was unleashed doesn't quite mesh with the response (or lack thereof) early in the outbreak though. If viral weaponry was accidentally unleashed wouldn't officials have been scurrying around in a panick trying to put the genie back in the bottle? If one compares the official response to this outbreak with those from the past it becomes apparent something stinks to high hell. I wouldn't doubt for a minute that it originated in a biowarfare lab though. This Ebola epidemic bares far more resemblance to the Anthrax attack then it does to the theories of Lymes disease escape (rumored to be a weaponized form of syphilis).
I am willing to bet that the MSM will keep lid on the progression of the outbreak until after the election, then the MSM will engage in a huge fear mongering campaign. At that point it will become very clear where this is headed.
