The Day After: An Interactive Sea Of Red
While one can debate the naivete of anyone expecting much if anything to change as a result of the midterm, or any, elections, one things is certain: America spoke up, and said the "recovery" of the past 6 years not only isn't working but is the biggest lie perpetuated by the country's true ruler: the Fed and its Wall Street bank "advisors", and demanded change: something more than just fabricated daily record highs in the nominal values of assorted Fed-rigged pieces of paper.
The result: as the interactive map below, ironically from the NYT after the jump shows, is nothing short of a red storm rising.
Now if only it wasn't all in absolute futility.

Blimey, that's a one big period over America
blue+red= GREEN and green is what controls it all
What the hell is wrong with Minnesota?
My God, what ISN'T wrong with Minnesota? For starters, it's located in Minnesota.
Finally, a map of where the lowest IQ people congregate, color coded in blue.......
When I squint at the map...
It looks purple to me.
This, though I have little doubt that the election results do show the dissatisfaction of voters at large. Commenters on ZH arent mentioning the fact that a great deal of counties were redrawn to favor republicans especcially when voter turnout is low as it is in off year elections. Not that that is the primary reason at all for these results just wanted to mention this. Me Im unaffiliated with any party and didnt vote. I. practiced some freedom in my house. and got a little something to show for it.
eighter take the blue pill or the red pill. OMG i need so much brainz for this. Luckily osamacare will cover the painkillers so all i need to worry about is hookers and blow, except this choice.. red or blue..gaah!!
You sure got a nice idiocracy there.
Finally some progress. Now if we can just fine tune HARP and get that earthquake/tsunami thang working...
Is there a hacker in the house;)
Ok, I'm far enough inland. Let 'er rip. I've always wanted beach front property.
Miffed
Sorry, but the ones with the low IQ's are the ones who believe there's actually a difference between the scoundrels.
To be fair, there is a difference. It just isn't particularly meaningful.
It shows the numbers and concentration of like minded fools required to maintain Left wing mass delusion are going up.
Well, you know what they say: people with low IQs tend to overestimate their intelligence, while people with high IQs are acutely aware of their limitations...
Thanks for clearing up any doubt that the red team is just as stupid as the blue...
This map proves one thing and one thing only:
If you vote for red or blue you deserve whatever destruction those parties perpetuate, YOU are COMPLICIT in their actions having given them your vote of approval.
Getting screwed is getting screwed, doesn't matter if it's the Republitards or the Democratards. Some moron voters think getting screwed by one party over the other is better, sure you may like a conservative dick in your ass over a liberal one but you're still taking an ass raping.
Red and blue voters like getting ass fucked by the bipartisan criminals and here is apretty map proving just that.
Apparently they love the train scene from trading places a little too much!
I'm in MN, not a better place on earth then on one of our many lakes in the summer. I have no idea what the fuck is wrong with the voters in this state. But then most here say voting in a waste of time. I voted because this current Gov raised taxes $1.6 billion to address a $268 million deficit. They then raised spending 12%. How could I not vote against that? The real reason why voting in this state is a waste of time is everyone and everything I vote against won for 12 years running and counting.
The largest employer here is Government. Not 3M, Honeywell, Medtronic, General Mills, ect. The other problem is the Ball Washing Sodomites have flooded this place with 100s of 1000s of Turd Worlders.
"I'm in MN, not a better place on earth then on one of our many lakes in the summer...."
All 3 weeks??
In the metro, the "turd worlders" find a way to vote. MN has an awesome welfare system. You can live in Chicago, take the bus up to MN, collect welfare and return once a month. No voter ID requirements- someone just has to vouch for you.
I, too, am part of the conservative (actually libertarian) enclave in MN. Unfortunately, we are outnumbered here. The reason why there are so many liberals here is for three reasons. First, we have a very highly educated (indoctrinated) population where the Universities preach the virtue of the state. Second, there are generational Democrats here that are split between the liberal intelligentsia and the blue collar union people. Third, Minnesota (Minneapolis/St. Paul), much like Chicago or NYC, has a large artistic culture, which is very typically filled with people who feel first and then think.
Me too, trying to save a small city from the Progressive march on the institutions, these idiots have the rubes in this town convinced they know where the magic money tree is planted just vote us in.. Poor rubes don't know its growing in their wallet. We are out of here soon as kids are up & out.. Willful ignorance is the MN motto..
Part of that is wrong. Torrey Westrom (R) beat Collin Peterson (D) for Section 7 (I'm orginally from western MN).
Dude: you gota quit smoking the BONG, as it was Peterson 54.3 to 45.7...... learn to use the internet, as its got alot of information available on it.
I down-arrowed myself. Won't let it happen again.
Oops - I stand corrected.

Frankenly, I don't know.
Queen of De Nile.
Those are just big, sparsely populated districts where the government subsidies/handouts/bribes are key. "For God's sake don't cut government spending." Same as in western Mississippi, southern Texas, eastern and northern Arizona, and northern New Mexico.
This is a fabulous map of where the Native tribes, the illegals, the dope smokers, and the underperforming farms are. Oh, and the bohemian New Englanders.
Scandinavian farmers on welfare.
They went for the red team big time in 2010 but then the red team turned on them going all womb bossy and homophobic. Once burnt.......
Been trying to figure that out my whole life, since I was born there. Growing up there meant you had to be tough. Fighting was a regular thing to be enjoyed. The weather in the winter is brutal and in the summer if can get to a hundy with high humidity and mosquitos that can carry a small child. Currently live in the dark red part of New England but the state is lost.
Al Franken, twice. W.T.F.?
I remember when the yutes turned out and we got Jesse Ventura. Those were exciting times. The status quo had been rejected. Well, the status quo bit back.
Minnesotans were infected by Garrison Keillor. For many a year, they consumed his statist propaganda, thinking it was nothing but harmless, folksy humor.
Somali immigrants there are on a rape spree against white girls, so they get what they deserve, LOL
In response to the queries about the farming state of Minnesota. It's been known for quite some time as the state with the largest concentration of lesbian and bull dyke lovelies.
Actually blue+red = purple, not green. Royalty?
Same to John Wilmot (or whatever) below.
Red is wholly owned by monied interests.
Blue is wholly owned by monied interests.
Red+Blue=Green because money is represented by the color green (in modern times).
FFS, is this your first day at ZH?
Uh huh...
Someone need to break out their color charts.
If it is light, you are correct, it is green.
If paint, they yield purple.
+1 You get the cookie.
You can both have cookies, assuming you don't mind that Michelle took a dump in the dough.
At this very moment you are probably using an RGB monitor to view ZH. RGB is "red", "green" and "blue", the primary colors for light (additive color mixing). You don't get green by mixing red and blue light (which, BTW, makes purple). Rather, you get green by turning on the green pixels on your monitor. (Pull out a magnifying glass and confirm it for yourself. If you look at a large green section, the green pixels will be lit. If you look at a large purple section, the blue and red pixels will be lit.)
Paints are a subtractive process. Mixing red and blue paint doesn't yield purple, it yields something approximating black. (Only approximate because paint pigments aren't infinitely small and won't mix perfectly and the subtractive process isn't 100% as some light may reflect clear of the material after the first pigment it hits without hitting a different pigment that would have absorbed it, and because visible light isn't really just 3 colors but is a whole frequency spectrum and real-world pigments don't have perfect absorption across a color's entire frequency spectrum, plus the spectrums for our color receptors overlap a bit.) Red paint subtracts both blue and green, while blue paint subtracts both red and green, so the two together subtract red, green and blue, leaving (approximately) nothing, hence black. That mixing any two of red, green or blue paints yields black (with "color pure" paints at least) is why those colors are not used as primary colors for paints, rather cyan, magenta and yellow typically are -- cyan paint absorbs red light, magenta paint absorbs green light, and yellow paint absorbs blue light. If you want green via mixing paints, you can mix cyan and yellow paints, absorbing red and blue and leaving just green to be reflected. (In practice you can usually also get green by mixing blue and yellow paints, but this is due to most "blue" paints not actually being pure in the sense that they reflect not only the blue spectrum but also part of the green spectrum, so by mixing in yellow the blue spectrum part is absorbed, leaving just part of the green spectrum visible.)
(All OT of course, as kliguy38 was speaking metaphorically when saying "blue+red= GREEN", as TheReplacement already explained.)
So, it's like really warm over much of the United States today...
Dims lost big in places like Maryland, West Virginia, and Illinois where they have long had a lock.
The white women are finally waking up. This is epic.
True. First rule of politics for the Dems: Always remember to ask "Hey, where the white women at?"
Word is Michelle O pitched a hissy fit last night and ate everybody's chicken.
Did Barry get eaten out as well; or was it just Valerie Jarrett?
Don't get too excited, they just slightly repositioned the deckchairs on the Titanic.
I think they have moved on to painting the anchors.
Posting to agree (and bring attention to my avatar pic).
I'll go out on a limb here and make a prediction that it MIGHT actually be the BLACK women waking up. When you have 40% plus black youth unemployment, your inner cities are in ruins, your black leadership is all corrupt, the most dangerous thing a black man can encounter is another black man, crime in black neighborhoods is catastrophic and your black middle class is in shambles you tend to wake up sometimes. All largely since the acension of the Muslim Kenyan Marxist to the throne.
"As a black person, it's always about race, and it's always bad." - Jamie Foxx
Do you actually think the race issue is better now than when Mr. Foxx made that statement? After Trayvonn and Michael Brown, I think you are believing in green shoots.
Don't know many black women, do you?
Where I live, we call black people "democrats" for a reason.
Hilarious!
Lot to this comment in my view. "Promises, promises." Point where the bullshit ends.
Your tree limb broke.
Well, I wish I could say I had something to do with it but they still see me as a tinfoil hat wearer. Maybe they just stayed home and watched TV this year. Most of my close friends only vote local issues if they vote at all.
Miffed
Epic until two or four years from now.
Hopefully whites will finally vote for their own interests, and the war against white men will stop.
Blue or red, the Inspector Clouseau Congress will continue to do nothing but kowtow to their masters on Wall Street. Wall Street is run by the New World Order with its main office in France and satellite offices everywhere. And as the industrial heartland of the United States becomes a distant memory, as dope dealers spread their poison across the country, all the government controlled media talks about is the election of another cycle of lying politicians.
It makes no difference what color it is, the course is the same.
Remember, remember, the 5th of November.
as telling as that is (given that the Republicans already had a House majority, only now more so), it's the Senate race chart that's more telling... the Republicans haven't kicked out incumbent Democrat senators in this fashion since 1980... that's right, 1980... the dawn of the Reagan Revolution, when the Republicans wrested control of the Senate away from the Democrats for the first time in 28 years...
if you're a Democrat you have got to be licking some serious wounds right now... Obama just pulled a Carter...
also... Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland, and Massachusetts have Republican governors now? whoops...
changing Captains on the Good ship Titanic or Luistania would not have made a difference.

AKA, "The Great Pendulum of False Dichotomies."
I remember back in the late 70s thinking we'd never see another two-term president again due to the obvious failures/corruption of both parties. Since then, with the exception of Bush the First (worst campaigner EVAR), it's been nothing but.
I swear, it's about the only efficient thing government manages to do.
Now that the Repubs are in, TPTB and their blue buddies can let it blow. Let the collapse take place and blame it on the pussified reds. Whenever I hear the term bipartisanship, I bend over. I don't want bipartisanship I want liberty to prevail. These guys, except for a few, just don't get it.
Rand tells why people hate Congress
https://www.youtube.com/embed/svGDZOW-brA?rel=0
Rand made a wise political decision backing McConnel rather than Matt Bevins in the KY Repub primary, though Bevins is a perfect parellel to Rand and Massie in Ky. and could have beaten Grimes in the election. Rand's political advisers told him to go with Mitch, who is a typical neocon, if he wanted to make a run at the presidency.
Look how PO'd Zionist Wolfie acts when he can't snare Rand in the interview. Wolfie finally gets around to asking him about Israel in the end.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=em-subs_digest&v=Na0bdgRNC1E Ron still calls it like it is. Exactly. the only thing positive I see in the sea of red is that nothing will get done for 2 years. Complete gridlock is a win with the inexorable march to tyranny.
I wouldn't put it past an AIPAC Congress to provide Isreal with an air craft carrier.

Expect big change
lmfao
Since Obama won't be able to pass any legislation, all he can do is write dictatorial decrees (ie executive orders).
And he might as well vacation more. I mean after working this hard and coming up empty, why bother?
I certainly hope that's sarcasm.
It is and look at the dicks that fell for it. LMAO
Well they certainly get it with Obama. Be careful what you ask for.
You got junked for writing "expect big change" but I noted you didn't write "from the Republicans." Therefore, you get an upvote for your humor and perhaps your insight. This thing is reaching critical mass and is not going away. I do expect big change, a complete systemic collapse of our modern day society.
Thanks for the incite
Thanks for including Alaska. Sometimes it gets left behind with all the side show goingon up there.
You should be extremely happy to be left out of this shit sandwich.

What about the Senate? The Senate is where real power lies....
There is no power when they're afraid to use it.
You're kidding, right? A dysfunctional Senate is a practical requirement for Laissez-Faire Capitalism. These guys aren't stupid. They know which side their bread is buttered on. And who's holding the butter knife.
LOL WUT?
Gotta love the gerrymandering in AZ. The Dems and Reps copied the California model and made guaranteed D and R districts to protect incumbents, otherwise we'd be a full red state with much smaller margins between the two parties in the results and hell of a lot more turnover. State politics is even more entertaining, with many candidates running with no opposition whatsoever.
The Republicans in Pennsylvania made it virtually impossible for Democrats to win in heavily-Democrat areas by chopping up the state in such a perverse fashion.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania%27s_congressional_districts#me...
They should chop out Phildelphia and give it to NJ. PA would be a fairly nice place w/o Philly.
Have you ever been to middle-Pennsylvania? That vaunted "Republican 'T'" area? Not a nice place. Cold, awful people with IQs to match their shoe sizes.
A lot of the movie "The Road" was filmed in PA. Kind of lets you know how warm and inviting that place is from Nov to May.

Once the newbies fly into the cesspool thinking they will change "things" for the little guy, they will be in for an intensive rude awakening. If you don't play by the rules, you will be treated like a leper. You get nothing and go nowhere.
Meet the new boss...same as the old boss!
OK, now I'm mystified. How can anyone think that candidates who were elected thanks to big-bucks donors give a crap about "the little guy"?
I wonder if the Tyler who wrote this article is the same or different Tyler who wrote the "The Economy Is So 'Strong' It Just Cost Obama The Senate" article? No matter. Either/or masquerades as a libertarian when, in fact, the thesis that electing Republicans doesn't matter is a prime argument of authoritarian Progressives.
Posters here talk about sheep a lot. If appears they're right, even if solipsistic.
Don't let the fucking Tylers win, sheep.
OK: The people in counties WITH water, step to the left. The people in states WITHOUT water, to the right.
Finally the beach bums, the welfare bums, the basement dweller bums, the scholastic bums, the food stamp bums, the confused gender bums, etc have been shown the writing on the wall. Now the GOP have to get to work and balance the budget and show the illegals the door.
That was just tooo funny homebody!!! You were trying to be funny.......right?
What part of getting our country back did you think was a joke?
The part where you seemed to actually believe it's a possibility by voting was what I thought was amusing.
I can not believe how may here have become so cynical and given up on our country - what the fuck would you suggest - move out if you can't live in this society.
I've not given up on US, I've given up on humanity, so there's not really anywhere to move out to - Mars ain't ready yet.
We haven't given up on our country you moron. We have given up on our leaders. What a sheeple you are.
Homebody's unabashed, blind homerism for one wing of the Democrapublican Party is a bit of a joke... just not a very funny one in my view. To suggest that Republican control is "getting our country back" is to bleat unthinkingly like a good little sheeple. Idiocracy Now!, baby. Consider yourself properly propagandized--just like TPTB want you to be.
An informed and engaged citizenry is death to tyranny, but with 130 million Democrapublicans poised to endorse the status quo in 2016, there's no threat of that anytime soon.
Good post Darwin Mode, I believe you see through the fucking hoax called "change" in the form of a bunch of fucking hack republicans running around congress looking to favor the banks, the military and the wall streeters even more than the fake democractes do.
Homebody plagerized an excerpt from Sunday's Sermon at the First Southern Babtist Church of Jackson, Mississipi.
"What part of getting our country back did you think was a joke?"
The part where you seem to think the republicunts will be any different than the democraps. And I don't THINK it was funny.......I KNOW it was funny!!!
They will never show illegals "the door." That is just a political reality that we have to accept.
The best we can hope for is that the country wakes up and seals the border. Then we can work on the people already here. I suggest having them go through the standard green card process like every other LEGAL immigrant. Anyone without a greencard after an initial grace period (two years) will be subject to deportation. Criminals and felons are not given greencards - they are to be deported immediatly.
Just like any green card holder, they can apply for citizenship with full voting rights after five years. Anything less than this plan will result in the eventual death of the United States as we have come to know it.
You may be right but it is just as futile to think that a balanced budget will happen without collapse of the country - but we must try or just lay down and die.
That ain't gonna to happen either, dude. The MIC/FIRE/Banksters need its "monetary heroin", why else for all the QE's, right?
Homebody: ain't gonna happen.
It won't be in futility, though. Abortions will be restricted to those with money and/or political influence. Guns will receive more protection while actual humans will receive less. And those queers will get what's coming to them now that God is in control of things in much of the country.
Sure, paychecks won't rise. The national debt won't fall - it will increase due to all of the tax cuts we'll see. That's a small price to pay, however, just so those with the red pom poms can claim victory over those with the blue ones.
To me, those who vote for limited/smaller government should receive exactly that. You want a new bridge and road built to your house that is 25 miles away from civilization? Pay for it yourself, you fucking taker. You need a better school building? Pay for it yourself, you goddamn freeloader.
That would only be fair. But since when has fairness mattered to Republicans? Never. That's when.
Pointless indeed.
You're right. It's pointless to be intelligent and want your world to be a better place here in America.
Holy shit, are you ignorant. Go sell your stupid on FailyKos or HuffPuff. You came to the wrong place, friend.
My goodness, all you people have are childish comments.
I'm on here because I like the economic and financial markets commentary. However, you people have turned it into Stormfront.
Tsar Pointless: Good comments. I suspect your have some humanity. Also, you seem to know what liberty is.
You are the problem. Haven't you ever heard that first rule of war thingie? Divide and conquer? Fox news watching- Rush limbaugh fans who are too stupid to understand the very simple ploy of using wedge issues as a divisive tactic are every bit as responsible for destroying this country as any liberal idiot. Good luck with your all important abortion and gay issues you ass clown.
Didn't happen in North Dakota dude, check my other post. (I didn't give you any arrow)
Excuse me for being a foreigner but is there any correlation between the Fukushima radiation hitting the western seaboard and those particular states voting for the blue team?
Being from Oregon, looking at the outcome across the board of candidates and propositions it was a lot closer then what you see.
As the annalists comes out I bet Oregon liberals are about to collapse.
If it wasn't for Oregon's economy holding up thru this economic collapse I believe the state would have turned red.
The large influx of Californians NV, Az, and other states populous brought capital to the state. As that slows then lets see what happens.
Jerry Brown -doing a heckuva job encouraging mass migration to Texas.
It's not red vs blue. It's a little more black and white than that...
Its not about race. Its about the private sector working class against the lazy. Just ask Love in Utah
No. It's a little about race, but more about the greedy takers in red areas (rural. mostly) against those who want to be part of civilization in blue areas (metropolitan, mostly).
Look at the map. You'll see that clearly. If you look at it objectively.
No, I think it is more about small town America versus the concrete jungle and maybe the beaches. And who contributes more to the American way of life - as it was always looked up to by the whole world. Sure argue with that but they all want to come here.
-1....for just the dumbest thing anybody has said today.......others have already taken the "dumbest ever" on statements similar in kind, but, different in degree.
Reasons? I have lived in both Red and Blue states, in rural and metropolitan areas, and I think I nailed it on the head with my comment.
Explain to me how people wanting something for nothing aren't "takers". They want lower taxes with the same standard of living. Either they are going to be borrowing from a bank or borrowing from the rest of society. One way or another, they're taking from others to fund their lifestyles.
They want new bridges, new roads, new schools, new everything, but they don't want to pay for it. Somebody has to, though - that's the problem. If not them, then someone else. They're happy to take the money and run to the voting booth to keep voting Republican. It's worked for over 30 years, why stop now?
