Well, sure, everyone knows a boatload of women entered the workforce in the 1960s to 2000 or so. That's what your chart shows, and I don't disagree with that one bit.
However, the chart in this article is from the 1990s thru today, and I was thinking about the past 10 or 15 years when I made my comment.
So, look at your own chart if you wish, but focus on the past 10 or 15 years. What you'll see is that both women and men (as well as young and old) have been headed down. Yes, your chart indicates men are headed downward slightly faster, but the dynamic that your longer term chart shows is gone (opposite direction motion). What remains now is a decline for everyone, which was my point.
So I'd say we're both pretty much correct, just focused on different time frames. Everyone is getting a raw deal now. But yes, men are now getting a somewhat rawer deal.

Yes, the employment rate is falling at slightly different rates for various subgroups, but the employment rate is now headed steeply downward for everyone, and getting steeper for everyone.

Well, part of the problem is... I totally forgot they even had the term "white" in the article and chart. I just checked, and you're right, they did. So everything I said was just about "men" and "women" without race involved.
I'm female and Chinese and only moved to the USSA and learned English in my early 20s, but I don't think of myself as Chinese, or American, or white, or non-white... and frankly I don't even pay attention to male vs female unless some reason exists to do so (which is almost never).
I doubt the curve for "white-men" has a much different shape than from "non-white-men", though I imagine the "white-men" curve may be higher on the chart than "non-white-men" curve.
Before I moved out of the USSA 3 years ago, I did notice that it seemed like significantly more "new employees" were women than men... but that observation is rather selective since the only kind of businesses I encountered were retail businesses in fancy tourist towns. I had little exposure to "office workers" or "factory workers" or most other kinds of work and workplaces, so my observations cannot be considered as reliable overall measures. So all my personal observations can say is, those kinds of businesses in tourist areas obviously certainly had no bias against women of any race or color. But also remember that I lived in a small, high-end tourist town in Maui, and Hawaii has so many people of several races that almost nobody even notices race there any more.
For me, the bottom line is this. I don't give a damn what sex, race, color or other group "employed" or "unemployed" fall into, as long a people are hired and paid on the basis of skills and performance. So for me, the biggest gripe is that hiring and pay depends mostly on "who you know, not what you know, or how well you do your work". That's the narrow problem. The overall problem is... the predators who call themselves "banks" and "government" have totally destroyed the world economy and stolen endless tens of trillions of wealth for themselves.

The work force in NYC (Manhattan) is mostly white & young (under 40 for the most part) in most white collar positions especially Wall Street... I find this graph non sensical for the most part. Maybe it the for White men over the age of 70?? Even the outer boros have become much more white yuppie than white working class & less diverse than 10-15 years ago. Are all of these nouveau rich kids paying $3,000 a month for a one bedroom apt. in Brooklyn or $4,500 for a two bedroom apt in Queens (the rented for 50% or less than the asking rent 20 years ago) trust fund kids from Southern California? or are they 'old money' from the suburbs & New England?
Paying $4500 for an apartment is stupid even if you can afford it.

We are standing on the balcony of a bnb in the forest, with volcanoes behind us, and they only thing these kids could do was huddle in one corner together nearly touching and face each other and look at each other. This was a few years before smartphones, who knows what they would do now.

This isn't a social or cultural thing, it's much deeper than that. A lot of it is biological. Young males have a biological need to establish some kind of territory. They can adjust, and fit in to their existing society, provided there is a place for them to BE.
When there aren't any more "places" ( like jobs, and positions of responsibility. Part-time fry cook doesn't qualify..) then these guys will start to implode, explode, melt down, etc. Look at the age group that the bulk of these incidents are occurring in, and you can see the pattern screaming out at you.
All societies in the past have been able to send these guys out to explore something. The reason the Wild West was so wild is because it attracted the types who weren't the best 'fit' back East, to the great benefit of the folks back East. Imagine if all those guys and girls-thousands and thousands of them) had stayed in New York, and Philadelphia? And think of how many were shipped to Australia from England at a time when industrialization was exerting much pressure on cities like London.
We no longer have that pressure valve option. All places on earth have been mapped out, claimed by some entity or another. And "Viking raids" are frowned upon these days.

One day I and my 3 brothers are sitting around the round, oak, solid wood Ethan Allen, kitchen table. Perhaps it was a weekend, maybe a Saturday and we had all raked leaves.
