Higher earnings on flat revenue can only be achieved through higher
Productivity. Since that avenue has been exhausted through cost cutting and lay-offs over the past 6 years, it is being achieved through BS which means it ain't happening. Time to head for the exits now before someone yells " FIRE "

Its EPS so company buybacks would also accomplish this. Fewer shares to earnings. Ta da

I was on a tour of Rome a few years ago when the elderly tour guide was asked hw many churches does Rome have. His answer was "over 600" he then paused and went on to add, " but not so many Christians."

Simple solution.  Make the chart go to 10,000.  The two bars will then look almost identical.

"But actually, he thought as he re-adjusted the Ministry of Plenty's figures, it was not even forgery. It was merely the substitution of one piece of nonsense for another. Most of the material that you were dealing with had no connexion with anything in the real world, not even the kind of connexion that is contained in a direct lie. Statistics were just as much a fantasy in their original version as in their rectified version. " - Winston Smith

They must now be using US BLS personnel for predicting earnings.  US inflation has been miraculously low for decades.

A million times more miracles are caused by fraud than by miracles that will get you anointed a saint by the Pope.

This means expenses =   (- 11.7) %

Somebody is subsidizing EU GDP (US$18.451 trillion in 2014) by

0.117* 18.451 = 2.159 Tr .

QE is not big enough . There are some big credit bubbles out there creating empty money .

Somebody who knows what they are doing is deliberately igniting North-africa and Middle-east

Simpel, the shareholders want their 10% growth and manager get their bonuses on it, you only get a very small bonus with only 5% growth.
But the market is busted so they can't get revenue up with current margents so they cut prices to get the sales.
And yes they don't get a bonus on that one but mostly half of their bonus is still filthy alot.

And what is suddenly the future in sales now in Europe?

ECOMMERCE!!!

Yep... They just don't realize that it's already pretty crowded on the net and that they'll kill themselves if they show their customers the way because, thanks to free trade, a customer will realize that it's as easy to skip the middleman and buy at a 50% discount with the same energy spend.

the real reason is that euro zone share Price to earnings is much lower than WS ratio for similar blue chips.

So Europe still plays catch up ball in the Jack n te Beanstalk race.

Its WS that sets the new "norm" for EPS vs stock price.
