Ebola-Infected Doctor Dies In Nebraska Medical Center

Tyler Durden's picture

While a month ago there was non-stop newsflow surrounding any Ebola-case transfer from West Africa to the US, the newly appointed Ebola czar Ron Klain has so far shown a stunning ability to mute media reports of any ongoing developments surrounding the deadly disease.  Which is why virtually nobody was aware that on Saturday a surgeon, who contracted Ebola while treating patients in Sierra Leone, Dr. Martin Salia, 44, has been transferred to the Nebraska Medical Center which had previously successfully treated two other Ebola patients this fall. Sadly, this time it failed, and moments ago it was reported that Salia passed away from the deadly disease.

As CBS reports, after "Salia arrived in Omaha, his ambulance to the hospital was accompanied by a single Nebraska State Patrol cruiser and a fire department vehicle - a subdued arrival in contrast to the August delivery of Dr. Rick Sacra, whose ambulance was flanked by numerous police cars, motorcycles and fire vehicles." As expected, because as previously reported, Klain's main priority since ascending to the Ebola throne, has been to hush as much as possible any Ebola-related developments on US soil.

Salia had been working as a general surgeon at Kissy United Methodist Hospital in the Sierra Leone capital of Freetown. It's not clear whether he was involved in the care of Ebola patients. Kissy is not an Ebola treatment unit, but Salia worked in at least three other facilities, United Methodist News said, citing health ministry sources.

What is once again most disturing, is that Salia, a Sierra Leone citizen who lives in Maryland, first showed Ebola symptoms on Nov. 6 but tested negative for the virus. Just like the first Ebola casuality on US soil, he eventually tested positive on Monday only after his symptoms had escalated materially, leading many to wonder just what is the incidence of false negatives when testing for Ebola.

More:

The U.S. State Department said it helped facilitate the transfer of Salia; the U.S. Embassy in Freetown said he paid for the expensive evacuation. The travel costs and care of other Ebola patients flown to the U.S. have been covered by the groups they worked for in West Africa.

Salia's wife, Isatu Salia, said in a telephone interview that when she spoke to her husband early Friday his voice sounded weak and shaky. But he told her "I love you" in a steady voice, she said.

The two prayed together, and their children, ages 12 and 20, are coping, Isatu Salia said, calling her husband "my everything."

Sierra Leone is one of the three West Africa nations hit hard by an Ebola epidemic this year. Five other doctors in Sierra Leone have contracted Ebola, and all have died.

Our condolences to Salia's family as we now revert to the near-media blackout surrounding any future Ebola cases on US soil, and await imminent (well-paid) studies from Dr. Jonathan Gruber how there is nothing at all to be concerned about regarding Ebola.

When I review all these matters I always ask, "who benefits?" cui bono?

Is there some secret payoff to a hospital from the NIH or other government agency to study this disease and how it develops, reacts to drugs, progresses? Especially since it mutates with great velocity.

Why else, other than depopulation, risk bringing these patients here?

To get the most out of a monster cock (which is mentioned daily here on ZH), you really want less impulse control AND IQ.  Perhaps dick size is genetically coded to be inversely proportional to impulse control and IQ.

This would explain why Asians are very intelligent, commit crime at a relatively low rate, but have micropenises.

Please provide reference(s), if possible.

If some are asking the serious question whether there are immunity differences between African and Caucasian cases, then the serious answer is:  We may not have the enough data for Caucasian cases, to make reliable statistical conclusions (because N=small), and the stats get more complicated by the fact that many die in Africa because they cannot get the same level of Intensive Care (in an ICU) as a few isolated cases in the West do.

If some here are asking the question whether there are immunity differences between African and Caucasian cases, because they are smart asses, then my answer is:  If you and your like-minded friends would volunteer, we could get more reliable statistical inferences.

Probably not.  There is a genetic adaptation in (some?) black Africans which protects them against malaria, but at the same time is responsible for sickle-cell.

That said, I am pretty sure that whites can die from Ebola just like anyone else, but the the people treated in the US were caught much earlier.

I think a more important story here is how the Ebola new has pretty well been quashed.

For the record, Africans have the most diversified Regional Gene Pool.

We should call around for a Virologist and/or NBC Warfare Guru to comment on how Ebola came to be.  We know that this bug's been around for 40 or so years; but the Pharmas/Biotechs were slow on taking on remedies since there wasn't much money to be made from treating the afflicted - who mostly happened to be Poor.

That seems to be the Fracking Problem here - Leave a Virus running amok for years w/o any remedies; and eventually - it may be spread carelessly across Continents and/or mutate into something that may cause major problems down the road.

Kinda like BSE; but instead of dumbass Farmers and Feedstock Makers, we're dealing with Kumba-Yah Missionary/NGO Medics w/o Borders and Public Health Officials who are taking Half-Assed Measures in order to avoid rational and strict Quarantine practices.

No, it isn't you.

You are correct.  People of African descent are dying at a (managed) high rate.

Re-read your dog eared copy of "Population Bomb" by Stanford Professor of Population Studies Dr. Paul Ehrlich.

Punch line: "There are too many people on the planet".  And really smart people, like Dr. Ehrlich, want large numbers of people to "go away".

Also, refresh your memory regarding Margaret Sanger's predecessor organizaion to "Planned Parenthood".  It was a eugenics organization, as Planned Parenthood is.

Remember, Margaret wanted to create "a nation of thoroughbreds" which meant (wink, wink) preferentially aborting plow horses.  FYI,  the largest proportion of nonviable tissue masses aborted by Margarets for-profit business operations are non-viable tissue masses of African descent.

And then there was the ecologogical superstar, Rachel Carson, who wrote the scientifically dubious "Silent Spring", which stampeded the hormonal "environmentalists" to ban DDT, resulting in epidemics of malaria in . . . Africa which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of millions of people! There are a lot of people of African descent living in Africa.

The world is really run by Malthusians who seriously believe that there are way too many people on the planet, and THEY are just the people to do something about it.

And a good place to start to solve the  worlds overpopulation problems are primitive, ignorant, third-world societies like ... oh, say ... Africa, India, and China.

Kirk2NCC1701's picture

I recall someone posting here that the test accuracy is 90%.

Don't know how they got this number or how reliable it is, but there might be your explanation: if it's only 90%, you need more than one test.  For example...

If N = the Number of tests done and each Test has a 90% reliability (R=0.9), then the overall Reliability (R) of all the Tests is: R = 0.9 (1/N)

N  vs     R

1       0.9000

2       0.9487  (2 Sigma)

3       0.9655

4       0.9744

35     0.9970  (3 Sigma)

Moral:  If the Reliability if ONE Test is a "mere" 90%, then you either need to have more tests (takes time and resources), or you need to use your Noggin, i.e. Pay closer attention to the SYMPTOMS and use those as a reliable Co-Indicator of Ebola presence.   Clearly 'Merican hospital staff are poorly trained to use their Noggin ("Question everything!"), but are taught to "Follow Procedure, rely on Tests and follow the Chain of Command" -- just so that you and the Hospital can't get sued (successfully).

Something's not right about this disease. I expected high virulency with 100+ infected by now from the Texas nurse and that hasn't happened. Now there's this ebola test returning false negatives. In Africa it was infecting medics in full protective gear, in America it doesn't affect the average nose-picking hygiene deficient Joe sixpack.

I'll be honest. I don't have a fucking clue any more. Imminent outbreak, psyop, high mutation, cover-up, whatever. All and none of them could be happening. It's a disease that appears to be acting in exact accordance with the CDC's press releases.

News for you... it ain't the healthcare professionals getting wealthy.... it's the corporate hospitals... when it comes to layoffs, they lay off RNs and other who are hands on with patients...you will never hear of the the corporate bureaucrats running those behemoth bureaucracies getting laid off or taking pay cuts.  A friend's wife needs a brain MRI every year and had her most recent one at the hospital.  Their hospital bill $4500.  Another friend went to the ER for back pain and  got an MRi and got a hospital bill for $11000.  In an office setting, the brain MRi would have been $800 and the back pain office visit would be $150 with an office setting MRI of $450.

Complicit with the hospital bureaucracies are the insurance companies who make ourtrageous reimbursement contracts with the hospital bureaucracies.  Also, since obamascare kicked in deductibles are as high as $12K and premiums doubled-tripled-quadrupled while the coverages shrink, shrink, shrink.  Meanwhile the hospital bureacracy and insurance company officers have 7 digit salaries.

If you blame the RN and MD for an industry causing bankruptcy, you need to look at the root cause of where the real expenses lie... with the bureaucratic corporate hospitals and insurance companies.  You might want to look at obamascare favoring these entities.  Also, thank your elected ruling political elite turds who voted and passed to exempt themselves from this shit.

The Government's main task is to create the reserviors of the disease in the USA. Then they will use a vaccine after they instill enough fear and after thousands die. Big Pharma will get rich.

While I do not believe this to be bioengineered I do believe that they are intentionally attempting to create the foundation and it will be used against the US public.

Yeah cause viruses have eyes and can see skin color. How is race even an issue to be discussed in the context of treatment.

Its all about the robustness of the immune system and the availability of treatment therapies. Most people in Africa are black, therefore most people who die of Ebola will be black until it spreads to countries where most people are not black.

This is serious shit, no need to bring racial paranoia into the converstation unless you are a moron banging your drum given you by your political party.

Funny how blacks are real good at some sports but after nearly 50 years of quotas and being put ahead first in line for nearly everything they still can't make it in real life. But if you used YOUR brain you would be able to discern some less than subtle differences between the races. But enjoy your multicultural programing.

Funny how blacks ... still can't make it in real life.

Quite a few other ethnic groups aren't making it in real life either.

For folks to succeed in life, they mostly need a brain that works well (luck plays a part, but ignore that for now).

For the brain to work well, it needs the proper nutritients, at the proper time, while it is still in the uterus.  Then it needs the proper mental stimulation up until the age of three.  This requirement is true of all ethnic groups.

For some ethnic groups, in some locations, these required nutrients are not available.  Nor is the mental stimulation available in the first three years of life that will create the synaptical connections needed if the brain is to function well.

For any given ethnic group, give one fetus the required nutrients and mental stimulation after it is born and leave the other fetus without the required nutrients and mental stimulation after it is born.  No matter the ethnic group, you will end up with two different people.  Quotas will not ever put the second fetus here on par with the first fetus here.  Ever.  The die has been cast by the time they are three.  Many times the die has been cast before they are even born.

The reality is - variations within ethnic groups and variations across ethnic groups.  Most of those variations are set before quotas even become an issue.

Weren't we supposed to have like a million infected by now according to projections?

Nope, it should be around 10000 cases of death by now according to projections, 30000 by the end of the year.

Millions should have to be expected in June 2015.

Anyway, reported numbers are well below these projections. Either the projections were crap or the reports are.

Mon, 11/17/2014 - 11:02 | 5457077 TheMerryPrankster

Actually according to WHO and other medical sources, deaths are thought to be under-reported due to the fact many sypmtoms mimc advanced malaria and there is a certain shame and stigma associated with Ebola so families report deaths as Malaria and not Ebola.

So likely reported numbers are crap, because actual numbers are underreported and then the political structure tweaks them to undereport them further. Just like unemployment numbers.

The projected rates I read were always prefaced by "If the rate of infection continues at the current rate, then ... " (which at the time was exponential, not linear).  The point of the projections was to highlight the need to control the rate of infection.  They seem to be getting a handle on that.

That is how any epidemic is contained, and is the whole point of quarentine.

I've read that Dr. Salia displayed symptoms of Ebola for some number of days before he finally tested positive for Ebola.  That supports the approach of quarantine and treat on the appearance of symptoms, not when the test comes back positive.

Possibly Ebola has been redefined as death by natural causes. After all, all they need do is lower the average life span to thirty or something. We don't need science now that it has been proven that any problem can be resolved by simply changing the parameters of the discussion. What is a dollar? Debt is an asset?

When did you last see an article about the spread of Ebola in Africa? Or even the number of infected/dead?

There are major news blackouts on several fronts running now.

No reports on Ebola in Africa, media personel not allowed or aftaid of contagion?

No firm reports about isis from M.E., media personel afraid of getting decapitated?

No firm reports on war in Eukrain. There are some sparse vauge videos, but without translation they have no meaning.

As far as the state of the U.S./world economy, most here know that the "news" is little more than scripted propaganda.

Great efforts are being taken to suppress the Truth.

A lie steals the rights of others to react to the reality of a given situation.

"The records show the government was able to contain the First Wave of the virus by media blackout and the secreting of victims' bodies into mass graves in a remote area of Utah.

"It was not until the Second Wave Americans fully understood their Leaders had lied.

"The third and most deadly Wave was accompanied by the admission of whistle blowers who produced numerous copies of EOs signed by the president ordering a carefully planned spread of the pathogen with a targeted reduction of 75% of the population. At that point, military and UN forces were overwhelmed and the civil war erupted. Most of the corrupt leaders were either felled by gunfire or disease; only 10% of the population remained.

"The plan of the corrupt (and now known illegal) US President worked too well. Instead of achieving a Totalitarian State, the arrogance of the president and his cohorts led only to their own deaths and a newly freed US remnant.

"These survivors were able to rebuild parts of their country, but only along regional districts."
