Kissinger Warns "We Need A New World Order"; Ukraine Should Forget Crimea & NATO
Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger spoke about global threats, the secession of Crimea and Ukraine's NATO accession
Mr. Kissinger said that there currently is an urgent need for a new world order, but its coming into being will be long and complicated.
"There are no universally accepted rules," said Mr. Kissinger in an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel. "There is the Chinese view, the Islamic view, the Western view and, to some extent, the Russian view. And they really are not always compatible."
Speaking of Crimea’s accession to Russia, he noted that this is a special case, as Ukraine and Russia were one country for a long time. In his view, the West must recognize its mistakes.
"Europe and America did not understand the impact of these events, starting with the negotiations about Ukraine's economic relations with the European Union and culminating in the demonstrations in Kiev," said Mr. Kissinger. "All these, and their impact, should have been the subject of a dialogue with Russia."
He is sure that Ukraine has always had a special significance for Russia. Failure to understand this was fatal, and the Ukrainian authorities can forget about the Crimean peninsula.
"Nobody in the West has offered a concrete program to restore Crimea," said Mr. Kissinger. "Nobody is willing to fight over eastern Ukraine."
In his opinion, introducing anti-Russian sanctions was a mistake.
"We have to remember that Russia is an important part of the international system, and therefore useful in solving all sorts of other crises, for example in the agreement on nuclear proliferation with Iran or over Syria," Mr. Kissinger said. "This has to have preference over a tactical escalation in a specific case."
He added that Ukraine should not hope to become a member of NATO in the foreseeable future, as the alliance will never vote unanimously for the accession of Ukraine.

Kissinger always struck me as the truly amoral Satanist. Brzezinski has always struck me as very similar, but with that peculiarly Eastern European uncontainable frothing hatred of Russia. It's been a very LONG time since HK has been truly "Relevant" on the world stage. As he feels his mortality and the gravitational pull of the Great Beyond with each passing day, he, like Greenspan, is perhaps more concerned about his Lasting Legacy than peer disapproval.
IF he is genuinely sincere in these views that he's promoting very actively on TV, speeches and interviews, then his revised Worldview suggests a more pragmatic World Order -- a World Order that is more INCLUSIVE than the prevailing/US view that is US-centric and ideologically outdated.
p.s. I recently saw him on some book tour on the Daily Show and C-Span, where he seemed a bit 'dotty' and droned on in autopilot (typically Kissinger style, long-winded sentences and regressions into the past).

you've shared some brilliant insights on this thread, but i'm gonna have to part ways with you on this. my guess is that the ukraine was a sacrificial lamb whose blood was deliberately shed to further magnify the maginot line of nato/russia. it's only served to solidify everything that was established in the warsaw pact. bear in mind that the entire polish high command was openly executed just a few years ago; and so now we have poland firmly rooted in nato's soil and the balkans stealthily edging their way west. nothing is ever what it seems, and they've been playing the end-around with conspiracy manniquens put out on display for the purpose of double-diversion.

on a higher strategic level, I agree with you. Spliting Europe from Russia, when they are really one contiguous land mass, is classic mackinder geopoliticking. To some degree, the USSA was successful with this maneuver. Nevertheless, at a more granular level, the hired help (Nudelman) fucked up because they missed the big prize of crimea, and ended up with the dregs. So, while it was not a total loss for the NWO, it was certainly not a win, and ultimately showed their impotence despite their most vicious blustering and false flags. In a direct head butting against Russia, the NWO lost this time.

i think we basically agree here. i suppose what i'm saying is that nudleman wasn't told to go out and fuck this or that up -- it's pretty clear that she's a dimwitted and very useful idiot (hard working, too -- the very best kind). think of it like this: let's say you want to fix a game but you don't want to destroy your own team's morale by revealing that you're fixing things with the objective of deliberately losing. in such a case (and let's say you're the coach of a team who's working for, oh, i don't know, some kind of organized syndicate), the best way to go about it is to bench your talent (on whatever pretext is necessary) and play an incompetent (but very enthusiastic) quarterback (nudleman). and since we all know that girls can't throw footballs, i'm saying the fix was in from the beggining with this one. and i'll extend this whole way of thinking by hypothetically proposing that there is a possibility some forces want to destroy certain power structures in america...and let's say you wanted to select an individual who could be singularly identified with the concept of talentless incompetence...who would you choose? well, looks like someone's done it for us; his name? hussian obama.
anyway, i'm probably totally wrong here...but it may just be possible that russia is right now more a participant than combatant. and so let's further assume that both nato and russia have an interest in sharpening and clearly delineating the divisions (assuming that war is the ultimate objective of every party involved). you see, america/nato's gotta fumble and bumble a little; for if the russian people didn't think they had a chance, and they got their face-mask planted in the soil on every play, the whole nation would be a demoralized mess. the russians must start to feel confident and must also believe that a victory over nato/us is not only possible but probable. and then nato/us must experience the concomitant emotion of insecurity and consolidate its passions to defend against a legitimate threat.
wars require a lot of salesmanship; and both sides must fully believe they can take the day...otherwise, there'd be no war -- and who wants to live in a world like that?

Those very specific reasons are all short-sighted. Short term strategies are indistinguishable from tactics. Confusing strategy with tactics has been the ruin of many a general.
