The New World Order: Does It All Just Boil Down To A Battle For Your Soul?
Submitted by Brandon Smith via Alt-Market.com,
From its very inception, the Leninist/Marxist ideology of the Soviet Union made it a central priority to dispel and subjugate religious and spiritual expression. The state was “god.” No other god could be allowed to flourish, for if the people were given license and freedom of belief in something beyond themselves and beyond the establishment, they would retain a sense of rebellion. The collectivist philosophy requires the utter destruction of all competitors; otherwise, it can never truly prevail.
Atheism became the cult of choice among the communists, for in an atheist world there is nothing beyond the veil. There is no greater goal and no inherent self. There is no true individualism, only self interest (not the same thing), the trappings of environmental circumstances, and the constant substantiation of the greater good. By extension, there is no inborn moral compass or conscience, only the social fashions and mores of the moment. In such a world, tyrants reign supreme because atheism allows relativism to flourish; and any crime, no matter how heinous, can be rationalized. Beyond this, if you know and study the real history of the rise of communism, you know through great researchers like Antony Sutton that the very fabric of the system would never have existed without the monetary and military aid of international financiers (i.e. the NWO).
The atheist position uses the same arguments I have just made as a reason to remove religion and spirituality from our cultural influences. And in some respects, atheists are right. Religion is a tool that can be exploited to manipulate the masses. Any system of belief that is faith-based can be misinterpreted and abused in order to lure unwitting dupes and mindless followers into the fray of an engineered disaster. Atheists commonly argue that it is the encumbering nature of faith that causes mankind to destroy itself in the name of zealotry and self-righteous ignorance.
The difference, however, is that religious zealots are still required by the confines of their dogma to at least appear as though they follow a moral code. Therefore, they can be exposed as violators of this code and weakened over time. The atheist/collectivist system, though, thrives on the concept that there is no such thing as a moral code and that one is vindicated and heroic if he takes extreme action to prove that traditional morality is a vice, rather than a virtue. Atheists in positions of power often make no attempt to affirm their actions; rather, they demand that society abandon all conscience and sense of natural law. They do not ask for forgiveness; they order you to apologize for your moral compass. Are some atheists good and honorable people? Surely. The point, however, remains; atheism is the new flavor of the era, the increasingly predominant gravitational center of modern culture, the philosophical soil in which the NWO has chosen to grow its globalist experiment.
What atheists don’t seem to grasp is that atheism is itself based on an act of faith: faith in the idea that there is nothing beyond our perceptions of existence. They have no more factual knowledge of what lay at the center of life than any of the religious acolytes they so fondly attack, yet their own hypocrisy is apparently lost on them.
I would not pretend to deny that religion has the ability to create a volatile atmosphere edging toward genocidal tendency, but so does any belief system that assumes it is the paramount of knowledge denying all others. The intellectual intolerance of the socialist atheism of the 20th century spawned a death machine that claimed the lives of millions of people. So, clearly, atheists should be more concerned with the violent tendencies of their own ilk rather than the religious “fiends” they seem so obsessed with. Of course, this is a history modern atheists would rather ignore or rewrite.
I have always been concerned with the dilemma of the collectivist ideology, but even more so in recent months, as our world creeps closer toward global crisis. Crisis always provides circumstance and cover for dangerous philosophical totalitarianism.
Not long ago I came across the column “Some Atheists And Transhumanists Are Asking: Should It Be Illegal To Indoctrinate Kids With Religion?” on Huffington Post. It was written by Zoltan Istvan, a transhumanist and self-proclaimed “visionary and philosopher.”
Firstly, I have a hard time taking anything published by the Huffington Post seriously. Secondly, I have a hard time taking anyone using the name “Zoltan” seriously. Thirdly, I have a hard time taking anyone who labels himself a “visionary” seriously. That said, it is important to study the propaganda of the other side carefully. You never know what kinds of truths you might come across amid all the lies.
The article does not really define what it considers “indoctrination", but I would assume transhumanists and atheists would argue that anything not scientifically proven could become indoctrination. Interestingly, Istvan starts his tirade against the handing down of religious beliefs by admitting that science has added very little to our overall knowledge of the universe. After all, human beings experience only a narrow spectrum of the world around us, and there is indeed much we do not know. For some reason, it does not dawn on atheists that perhaps our limited scientific observations of the universe do not necessarily outweigh or deny the existence of an intelligent design.
In order to distract from their fundamental lack of knowledge, modern collectivist governments and movements have always made the promise of technological utopia and endless abundance in order to sway the populace into supporting establishment power. We will all work far less, or we will never have to work at all. Shelter, food, health and wealth will be provided for us. Our free time will be spent studying the nature of the cosmos and perpetuating the cult of academia, protected by a benevolent technocratic governing body straight out of an episode of “Star Trek.”
Not surprisingly, John Maynard Keynes himself predicted in 1930 that technological advancement and economic abundance would result in a three-hour workday and infinite time to amuse oneself by the year 2030 in his essay “The Economic Possibilities For Our Grandchildren.”
This was the same essay in which Keynes referred to the financial concerns of many at the onset of the Great Depression as “misinterpretations” and “pessimism.”
Transhumanism, a mainstay of global elitism and the New World Order, also uses fantastical images of scientifically created contentment to sell itself to starry-eyed rubes packed into the circus tent of the technocratic carnival. The very essence of the movement is the argument that one day ALL knowledge of the universe will be obtained by mankind and that through this knowledge, we (a select few anyway) will obtain godhood.
Again, as in the Huffington Post column, the claim is that science knows all or will eventually know all and that whatever has not been dissected and observed by science like the conceptions of religion must, therefore, be dubious myth.
Ironically, there is far more scientific evidence of God and spiritual life than there is evidence against. So by the very standards many atheists hold dear, it is they who are peddling indoctrination rather than truth.
In the world of mathematics, the good friend of Albert Einstein, Kurt Godel, is famous (but not as famous as he should be) for writing what would be called the “incompleteness proof.” In mathematics, a proof is a statement that is ALWAYS true and can always be proven true. Godel’s proof shook the very foundations of the mathematical world, because it outlined the fact that all mathematical knowledge is limited by numerical paradox, and that humanity will never be able to define all things through mathematical means.
Global elites such as Bertrand Russell had spent years of effort attempting to prove that mathematics was the unbridled code of the universe and that the universe could be understood in its entirety through the use of numbers. Godel shattered this delusion with his incompleteness proof, establishing once and for all that math is limited, not infinite. The existence of mathematical paradox along with an undefinable “infinity” lends credence to the religious view that there are indeed some things man will never know, but at least he has the ability to prove that he can never know them.
In the world of quantum physics, the work of Werner Heisenberg, along with that of many other scientists, has shown that the very mechanics of the world around us are not at all what they seem and that traditional physics is only a hollow shell of knowledge limited by our ability to observe.
The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle dictates that the observer of a particular physical state always affects the object being observed, making it impossible to know all the data necessary at one time to predict the future of that object. If a person hoped to become a god, he would certainly need to be able to tell the future; and to tell the future, one would need the ability to observe and record every aspect of every particle interacting in the environment around him. Any unknown quantity could change the outcome of any particular event. Heisenberg found that particles act very differently depending on how they are observed. In some experiments, he even discovered that individual particles appeared to be in two places at the same time, thus making them wholly unpredictable.
This behavior in the building blocks of matter is confounding to many in the realm of physics. Add to it the fact that scientists remain fixed on an endless and apparently futile quest to find the base particle that makes up the universe, and once again we find that the dreams of the transhumanist atheists to attain godhood fall terribly short. In addition, the apparently "intelligent" behavior of inanimate particles under observation leads one to question whether the universe is really just a chaotic mess of matter, or a dynamic living machine.
In the realm of psychology, Carl Gustav Jung discovered through decades of research the existence of inborn psychological contents. That is to say, from the moment of our birth, human beings contain complex elements of knowledge and identity, meaning we are NOT merely products of our particular environments. Jung called these pieces of inherent information “archetypes.”
The most important aspect of archetypes for our discussion is the existence of opposing views, or “dualities.” The concepts of good and evil, the concepts of conscience as well as guilt and regret, are not necessarily taught to us. Rather, we are born with such elements already within us. The fact that we are born with an at least unconscious understanding of good versus evil means we have the potential power of choice, a power beyond the realm of environment and beyond the reach of would-be tyrants and collectivists. If this does not constitute scientific evidence of a human “soul,” then I do not know what does. The fact of archetypes is undeniable. The question is: Since they do not come from environment, where do they come from?
Istvan’s column doesn’t mention or regard any of the scientific evidence for the existence of an intelligent design. He merely argues that science is the only definable known quantity, and only the known quantity is an acceptable form of belief. But what if the known quantity is so limited as to make a society dangerously ignorant?
The article goes on to promote (somewhat shamelessly) the author’s book, in which the hero, a transhumanist atheist, is given the power to reshape society into any form he wishes. The hero questions whether he should remove religion from the picture entirely, for if religion were erased, wouldn’t the world finally be at peace? Istvan himself questions whether religious expression should be banned in the case of children, so that they are given the chance to “choose” what they wish to believe later in life. This, of course, disregards the fact that children are already born with the prospect of choice, which is why many children who grow up Christian do not practice it later in life, and why many children from atheist homes end up joining religious movements. The idea that all children are permanently molded or damaged by their parent’s unchecked beliefs is complete nonsense.
What the author reveals in his work of fiction is the greater threat of the atheist and transhumanist ideology — namely, the arrogant assumption that they know what is best for the world and the public based on their scientific observations, which are limited and often misinterpreted. This problem extends into the oligarchy of globalists, who adore the theories expressed in Plato’s “The Republic,” in which an elite cadre of “philosopher kings,” men who have achieved a heightened level of academic knowledge, are exalted as the most qualified leaders. However, leadership requires more than knowledge, even if that knowledge is profound. Leadership also requires compassion and informed consent, two things for which the elites have no regard.
The New World Order, an ideal often touted by globalists and defined by their own rhetoric as a scientific dictatorship in which collectivism is valued and individualism is criminalized, seems to me to be — in its ultimate form and intention — a battle for the human soul. They try to convince us that there is no such thing, that there is no inborn conscience, that there is a rationale for every action, that spiritualism is a frivolous and terroristic pursuit, and that cold logic and science, as defined by them, are the paths to prosperity and peace. They also seek to tempt the masses with imaginary stories of attainable godhood and artificial Eden, promises on which they can never deliver. Anyone can point a gun at you and demand your fealty, but this is not what the elites want. Rather, they want you to voluntarily resign yourself over to the hive mind and sacrifice your conscience in the process. While one might argue over what it is they "truly" believe at the core of their cult, it is undeniable that collectivism, moral relativism, and atheism are their favorite promotional weapons.
The reactionary responses to my criticisms of the elitist philosophy will likely involve endless renunciations of crimes committed in the name of religious fervor. I agree; religion has always been exploited, usually by the elites themselves, to enslave as well as to murder. Even today, I hear some so-called Christians argue in favor of genocide using half-baked interpretations of biblical reference. But at bottom, I much prefer a world in which religious expression is free, rather than abolished in the name of an overarching zealotry in the form of a stunted mathematical morality. I prefer a world where the spiritual side of existence is allowed to add to observational awareness. Logic alone is not wisdom, after all. Wisdom is the combination of reason, intuition and experience.
I refuse to live under any form of theocracy, whether religious or scientific. The idea that we must choose between one or the other is a farce — a controlled debate. The individual soul (or whatever you want to call it) is the only thing that matters. It is important that we never forget that when we fight against the NWO, we are not just fighting for liberty; we are also fighting for something profoundly and inherently spiritual. Though we might not be able to define it, we can feel it. And that is enough.

The Public Be Suckered
Look it up.
Umm I am an atheist and know damned well the greater good is fucking evil. An assumption the concept of the greater good makes is knowing the future. I am not arrogant enough to proclaim I do. As for the moral superiority of religion, I seem to recall how it was used to justify black slavery, oppress women, condom homosexually... Hell, ever been told that no, my son will not receive a life saving blood transfusion because it is against our faith. Faith does not make a person good. Empathy does and the willingness to get off one's ass to help others. A good knowledge of history also helps, as it has many examples of traps and how seemingly good concepts can be perverted for horrific evil.
As another atheiest, I can plainly see that NWO,the greater good, whatever the phrase of the day happens to be, are the triumph of philosophy over rational thought. I hate to say it comes from too much thought, but that is 'where' it comes from. All that mental wool gathering that results in things like religion and politics is an escape from here and now. It seems to be well intentioned at the time, but always end in massive death and destruction because 'they are not like us'. It makes me think that the added brain power we have over some of the animal world is defective.
It is not defective.
People simply have chosen -consciously or unconsciously- to use 95% of their added brain power for lying better, after all pressing issues (food, shelter, ...) were covered.
Attacking atheists without even asking what moral concepts they might adhere to, falls in that category too.
Most people are just high-function animals.
I think you just reiterated many of the authors points. As far as kids..I see your point. The author is saying to have faith that the freedom to choose is inherent and a natural right. But until they realize that..my conscience says that the parents should have obligation to make the life and death decision.

Smacking one's Ox on the ass to get him to pull faster on the plow is not a battle for the Ox's soul, but a battle to get him to produce faster, more. And the ox then does not expect to keep what he produces, and does not resist its taking. Humans do expect to keep their production, and do resist the taking of their production.
It is not a battle for the "human soul." It is a battle for who gets to control and consume what humans produce--the controllers or the producers. The thieves or the victims of the thieves.
An American, not US subject.
"Oxen can't shoot back either."
imagine theres no heaven, its easy if you try, no hell below us and above us only sky
why do you need so many words?
Imagine Lennon being right. Who is the sovereign? Those that were born into wealth? Those that stole the most? The biggest baddest leeroy brown?
To give up thinking for dreaming may lead to a class of chattel and owners.
(It's not too late. There are still 7000 that haven't bent the knee)
Imagine where Lennon is now (nowhere), what he is doing (nothing) and what his legacy is (soon to be nothing left in the infinity of time). Atheists may as well off themselves now because living/dying makes no difference (or so they claim, so why do they waste their time trying to extend their lives?)

Dear Tylers and especially Mr. Brandon Smith.
I have read as much and varied stuff as anyone over the past ten years.
This is one of those very rare "Eureka" articles.
Thank you.

Tyler, there are people who plant food, there are people who extracts minerals, there are countries with countries with more water and less water but that has oil.
There are countries who like to make wars and master and there are countries who want peace.
BRICS want peace, fight for it until the last citizen.

The New World Order is not organization, unity and efficiency.
It is butchery, slaughter, torture, hanging, burning and violence.
We already see as in the past century the thrust of the NWO in Lugansk, Ukraine. For that is the front line of the NWO’s push toward world tyranny.
If Russia can be overrun, what will be left?
These scenes from Lugansk are what our leaders have planned for us. You think it will not come here? You are a fool.
"For Inna" - a video which should be circulated worldwide
http://vineyardsaker.blogspot.com/2014/06/for-inna-video-which-should-be.html
On 2 June 2014 an air strike of the Ukrainian Air force on city of Lugansk resulted in 8 deaths and 28 wounded. Inna Vladimirovna Kukurudza, an employee of a credit union was one the number of the innocent civilian victims murdered that day. She died in the ambulance after the horrific injuries that we see at the end of this video. This video was made as a tribute to her memory.
Is that video tough to watch? Yes. Therefore - PLEASE CIRCULATE IT!

St. Methodius († 311)
"A day will come when the enemies of Christ will boast of having conquered the whole world. They will say: 'Christians cannot escape now!' But a Great King will arise to fight the enemies of God. He will defeat them, and peace will be given to the world, and the Church will be freed from her anxieties."
Good piece.
Mr. Smith,
Another thing atheists ignore is that human passion exists and will find expression. Religion is a fairly innocuous outlet for that passion. The atheists assume that if they are somehow able to eradicate religion the harms it causes will disappear, but there will just be new problems, likely worse.
Religion is fairly innocuous if one overlooks thousands of years of wars and persecution.
Oh so correct.
Religion has the same goal as government.
One can always leave the church. Happens all the time. Big Brother is like Hotel California. You can check out but you can never leave.

Well this is close but they can't get your soul until they get your data first. Three years ago folks thought I was nuts when I started the Attack of the Killer Algorithms series, but anyone question that's not what's going on now? It's in markets and beyond. It's in healthcare, it's everywhere, It's the data selling epidemic in the US, hire a few geeks, get the code written and off you go to easy money and never mind the fact that the data you sell is stripping the dignity of every consumer attached to it, they don't give a shit, and let me say that one more time, they don't give a shit!
Here's the latest and the way the PR was done by CVS, makes me want to puke. Everything is not as it seems... and the bonehead media out there with no data mechanics, logic is really stupid or they cover it up on purpose. It might be both.
http://ducknetweb.blogspot.com/2014/11/cdc-shuts-down-obesity-for-work-place.html
Anyone here ever hear of a company named Argus? Well it might be one you want to know about as they sell the crap out of your credit card data, that is after they "score" you so they get a two fer here, just sell your data or get even more money if they run some algorithms to give a score on something. Whatever criteria they want to whip up in the code kitchen will work as people buy anything that's "scored" and it's overdone.
http://ducknetweb.blogspot.com/2014/08/argus-analytics-produces-share-of.html
I'm still waiting for the bonehead politicians to face reality and the court too, that the Affordable Care Act is run by the machines, so dummies don't promise anything where you don't have a connect to a coder somewhere to go change it, algos still run it, just like they do on the markets. We have all those former Wall Street Quants working for insurers now and guess what, like those policies you see? Nobody does, but these are guys that squeeze money out of nowhere and they are not thinking these numbers are people.
http://ducknetweb.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-affordable-care-act-is-run-by.html
Same bonehead that worked for Bloomberg, another virtual world guy is at the CDC and his Big Gulp style models are not working over there either. CDC had to take the site down as it was for employers with a BMI and questionnaire for people to sign up and be members. Ok just what an obese person wants to do, is become a member and have the US government be tracking them down as an evil fatty. Nobody, fat or not wants to be on a CDC list of people to watch for goodness sakes. Again, just like a Big Gulp these idiots don't know a flawed or broken model and when to stop. So in this case, CDC wanted fat souls and their data. Who knows maybe the fat patrol is next.
http://ducknetweb.blogspot.com/2014/11/cdc-shuts-down-obesity-for-work-place.html
So hold on to your data for dear life by all means. Now too we have Duetsche Banks and NY Mellon not happy with their coders making enough money for them so those two are setting up labs in the Silicon Valley. We are getting desperate for some magic algorithms, it sounds like. The more there are in the game with this, the less money there is to be made. Guess they think the code for algos is better on the west coast? Who knows. The video collection at the Killer Algorithms page is still there as it has been for 2 years and thanks to Zero Hedge I added the Gold videos a short while back too.
http://www.ducknet.net/attack-of-the-killer-algorithms/
They can't get your soul, though if you hang on to your dead data (grin). No, actually they do use data from dead people too, and many will find dead doctors listed in network as the insurers themselves admitted they are having problems with who's in network and who's not. Why? Bring out the quants and cut out the undesirables. It's moving so fast that people can't keep up. Of course while all of this is going on, leave it up to the Pew Foundation to write up a study on how uninformed people are about insurance..it's the models and their complexities, not the consumers, but Pew is a nice corporate funded think tank so they side with the money and we are dumb as a result in most of their studies. Our souls get cheaper by the study.

Calvin said that atheists prove the existence of God, since one cannot disprove a negative.
Today's headlines about the carnage in Jerusalem had me reflecting on how drenched in blood is every square centimeter in that city, and what is it about Yahweh that inspires devout people from the three branches to acts of such utter violence and hatred. Perhaps the best religion might be a fusion of reason, mysticism and ancestor veneration, such as is found in Taoism. Or maybe small tribal religions, such as the norse/germanic gods?
But with regard to the global techno-monster government that is currently in its screaming birth pangs, I am sure that any attempt to define a global religion would simply result in some kind of insipid beast that would attempt to manipulate humanity's impulse toward the divine into the service of some shabby kleptocratic government. Yuck.
Case study #1 is the Episcopal Church in the USA. Double yuck....
I think Brandon makes some important and relevant points. It is the following point with which I disagree: "I refuse to live under any form of theocracy, whether religious or scientific. The idea that we must choose between one or the other is a farce — a controlled debate."
The reason that I disagree is because at its root, what is theocracy? Man will either be ruled by God (theonomy) or himself (autonomy). As much as man rules himself by himself, that is the spiritual root of atheism and today's cultural and moral relativism. While he makes the statement that he refuses to "live under any form of theocracy," then fundamentally he wants to be the captain of his own destiny and actually affirms the "atheistic spirtuality" that he forcefully writes against in this article.
Enjoy and peace.

I have not seen you here, welcome.
I'll be looking for more interesting comments. + 1
So, a man who makes who chooses to govern himself and live by God's universal laws?
Or is there really no choice and only fear and force? One cannot do something because they believe it to be the best way for them?
Off topic so fuckin sue me lol anyway seems the XL pipeline has riled the natives ...literally
http://rt.com/usa/207107-sioux--keystone-act-war/
This is a very enlightening and relevant article. It hits at the core of the world we live in. No government, secret society, religion or ideology can ever take your soul without your permission. These man-made concepts keep us from seeing beyond the veil of illusion that is physical reality. Zero Hedge does a great job of showing us the illusion and how the battle for your mind is played and often won by those that wish to control others.
What it all comes down to in my opinion is how you live your life. Did you make the most of your time while you were here? We all experience ups, downs, suffering, happines, tragedy, joy, hate and love. Do you choose service to others or service to self? No, service to others doesn't mean you spend your whole life doing for others and not for yourself. It means you recongnize the free will of others and respect that free will. It means that you give more to humanity than you take from it.
One of the most freeing feelings you can have is to understand that you are a spiritual being having a human experience. Once you do, no matter how screwed up the world seems, deep down you understand that no matter what, it's all good.
Excellent article. Exactly what a lot of us have been thinking about recently. I sincerely wish all of you the best on your journey to evolve and perfect your soul. The miracles of the Universe are all around us, but the TV and other "magical" simulations of reality are just that: simulations; copies. So, don't be fooled.

Brandon Smith, you just went full retard.
The individual soul (or whatever you want to call it) is the only thing that matters. Though we might not be able to define it, we can feel it. And that is enough.
(Like a good sermon: main point is to induce that fuzzy warm feeling at the end.)
So how is that different from the (moral) relativism the so-called progressives plaster us with declaring "all opinions are equal" and therefore "everybody is right at the same time"?
Orwellian language must be good then.
And 80% of ZH'ers completely agree.
Good night, humanity.

Rambling, wooly and confused article.
Great article! We all believe in something. Even nihilists subscribe to a system of beliefs, let alone atheists. The first step towards knowledge is knowing you don't know.
fuck this article
religon IS non sense..science IS the answer. only a complete moron would disagree...
Reason (what some people refer to as science) has its limits. Read some Albert Einstein or C.S. Lewis.
Reason is not science Reason is what religious followers fail to recognize. Science is held back largely in part due to religious beliefs. Mathematics i"ll leave out for a whole different discussion, As for "limits" the human brain is limited in its ability to attain further advancements by the restrictions called belief as mandated by and of religion. Belief in religion is the same as in believing oblameo saying "you didn't build that" god errr or gov did one in the same.
tell the dipshit to readnsome william james....or henry george fer cryin' out loud.
Then answer my Science/Math question to BringOnTheAsteroid above.
I will be more than happy to talk about Physics and Math with you...since that is my field of expertise.
How much math do you know?
Amazing is the idea that so many here can see thru the fallacies of the gov and banksters yet can't let go of thier own fairytale indoctrination of religion.
here come the nasties let em fly I can take it-----------------> Forward into the void
Organized religion evolved from primitive belief systems to define ingroups and outgroups so that people could be more easily controlled. An abstract extension of the familial tribal bond extended over other mostly non-related tribes to enable larger aggregations of people.
Much like government.
Is there any knowledge to be garnered from an Academy (University)?
Yes some, but not much. Worse, most will graduate without any idea of what knowledge is.
The transhumanists and atheists do not believe in reason. It has too often worked against
their efforts. Look up post normal science. They basically use "consensus" or more exactly
the consensus is created through propaganda via control of the media.
Were crimes committed in the name of religion? Certainly.
Was good committed in the the name of religion? Certainly.
Does that make religion good or bad?
If I manipulate the masses to do good am I evil?
The physicists are so disheartened by the provable findings of Quantum Mechanics that
most of them have chosen to simply ignore them. So much for falsifiability as an axiom
of science.
No one has even the slightest idea what consciousness is, where it comes from, or
where it goes.
Liberty and Virtue are worth fighting for. The rest, not so much.
I like this explanation of consciousness.
(Copyright 2003, James Michael Howard, Fayetteville, Arkansas, U.S.A.)
I define "consciousness" as one brain mechanism having to inhibit or enhance another. This makes one mechanism "aware" of the other. Now this may be magnified into any level of complexity of "on off" mechanisms monitored by other "on off" mechanisms. This is a form of "consciousness."
However, I suggest the real key to "consciousness" is awareness of "need." When the above scenario is connected with a mechanism which generates "need," the interaction reaches the level of self awareness. Hence, hunger, thirst, etc. and sex produce "self awareness" in their satisfaction or deferral. (The memories of how these needs were met are stored in the association areas which refine the opportunity for satisfaction and increase awareness. I suggest “consciousness” cannot exist without memory.)
The third part is "drive." "Need" generates drive. This is the area which machines, at least at this time, may not be able to mimic. A machine that must seek and find energy, for example, is simply using "on off" mechanisms. I suggest the "drive" of animals results from the characteristic of nerves which differentiates them from other tissues. I think our drive comes from the "addiction" mechanism. That is, our nerves evolved the ability to increase receptors in response to the stimulus of entering molecules which trigger the addiction mechanism. Therefore, an accumulation of nerves, the brain, becomes a site which is constantly increasing its "need" for various molecules by constantly increasing receptors for these molecules. This is the basis of our drive mechanism.
I suggest "consciousness" consists of these mechanisms: control of one mechanism over another, especially involving mechanisms that are identified as "needs," and the addiction mechanism which constantly renews "needs."

somewhere between fear and desire lies the reality construction made by an individual nervous system.
z'at whatchyoo mean?
For animals.
People add abstract concepts.
Physicists at MIT are researching conciousness and the affect that it has on observed reality.
No. I disagree. While politicized science uses consensus as a measure of validity the competent Physicist has not abandoned Empiricism.
As for Liberty and Virtue. You are correct that is worth fighting for depending upon your definition of virtue.
To the pirates today tis virtue to be able to turn a profit as expediency, regardless of whom it may harm and how it may harm them. Human frailty is considered a weakness to be exploited in order to profit.
So are ye the virtuous shark whom considers the dolphin immoral, lacking virtue?
I hope not that ye be a shark. Me thinks not that ye are.

You dare to criticize Zoltan the Great?
Yeah, well you know. I still have my soul though. I doubt the devil would offer me a fair price anyway.
I generally make the assumption that the NWO, or the .0001%ers, have access to information not known to the masses. I have to say say it bothers me a bit how conduct their lives, like they're stuck in a feedback loop doing the debauchery scenes in Eyes Wide Shut, and worse.
Apparently the down-low on the on-high is fuggedaboudit, we're worm food. Gotta kill off a million or so brown people to fatten a bottom line? No worries. No karma. No afterlife. Sleep well.
And here I am in my life trying to do the right thing an' all.
Oh well.
like i've always said...(at least for the last six or seven years anyway) the templars dug up three things under the mosque- geometry, the rules of banking and some left handed gnostic shit.
The author fails to understand what "atheism" is. It's the absence of belief in a "god", BELIEF being the key word, not absolute knowledge. Religion has a standard of proof of "belief". This is why so many people who think they're "agnostic" are actually "atheist".
From the scientific end, there are plausible theories that there are infinite parallel universes, and every figment of imagination you've ever had, or any slight variation of your life (like sharpening your pencil once with 3 rotations rather than 4 rotations on some day in 3rd grade), actually has occurred in one of these infinite universes. Religious people themselves state that the foundation of their system is FAITH -- so you can call yourself an atheist if you think it's bullshit, because you need only BELIEVE, not KNOW. Good science is accurately describing what you don't know.
The multiverse theory is untestable and denies GOD. Good luck with that, your gonna need it.
I presume the platform of your criticism is that the Bible is testable and affirms GOD
How is it testable?
I would love to know!
I'm glad you both agree that the multiverse is untestable. As it is untestable, it is speculation and not real science.
Yes the Bible is testable. But first, it requires actual belief in GOD. So, asteroid (and you) would be disqualified.
Time for some delicious ad hominem:
Your avatar is one of the worst things on ZH: did you take that after you got done raping a woman, or young boy?
Don't worry, god will forgive.
Thanks. It is intentionally bad. For a reason. Which I'm not sharing. Have a nice day.
The multi-verse denies god? Really? God can't create as many universes as he wants? I thought god had unlimited power, why restrict himself to one universe?
How can you test that bushes talk and the sea was parted and animals lined up by twos while all the plants had to swim? How do you test that the sick were healed, the blind were made to see, the earth was created in 6 days, that water was turned into wine, that talking snakes tricked adam into and eve into eating the apple from the forbidden tree?
It was a freaking apple tree. You're meant to eat apples from an apple tree, talking snake or not. God was a little bit of a devil playing that trick on the newlyweds. I reckon he wanted them to sin, so the earth would sort of became gods porn channel.
As I said, it would be helpful to actually read my entire answer before you respond.
JLee, always keep in mind that I am attacking the idea, not the person. I have no misgivings of you and would gladly welcome you into my house.
Always keep that in mind. It's the incidious need to control people is why I hate religion, man I really hate it.
Asteroid keep in mind that long ago I decided you were a lost cause and a waste of time. Please stop talking to me. I have no interest in your comments.
That's not very Christian of you.
Actually yes it is. Shunning people who have denied the Creator and refused to reconsider is what GOD and his Church instruct us to do.
That's it. No more replies to you on this thread.
denies GOD
Hmm, you should follow through on that thought.
It seems to me everyone and everything denies God except the religious minds (of the correct religion flavor.)
After GOD is denied, there is nowhere to take the conversation. Everyhting must start with belief or the willingness to believe. If you don't want to do that, then, that's your problem, not mine, so stop asking or commenting to me.
What if you believe in two gods? Does that help?
What if you're an atheist who cannot stop talking about GOD ?
Hey, I'm the first to admit I'm obsessed by the topic. It's more from a deep curiosity about our brains than god per se. I am fascinated that people can throw so much of their life behind something they can't see, hear or feel. It'd be quite interesting to know what part of the brain gives rise to these beliefs.
Unfortunately for you I can keep commenting to you as long as I like.
If everything for you centers around the belief or denial of God, how could there ever be a conversation with you?
zoltan is mostly a terrible writer and fool.
i'm familar with the spectrum of social writers in the transhumanist space . many of them are stubborn fools with overwhelming self assuredness . relgiious new age zealots who believe in technouptopian atheism of 'anthrotheism' , a term i coined to describe the true relgious nature of much of individualist modern atheism which holds the individual up as the god product of technology created by the man-hive of technologists.
atheism raises man, and usually the POWER harnessed by man over his fellows, as the 'god' to be revered. thus , it becomes a form of demogogery or icon worship , something similar to what passes for social organization of north korea under kim jong ill, simply with different jargon revolving around the nonsense of technomessianism based on future promises of messiagh arriving to revolutionize our world into a heaven made by artificial intelligence and technologyically upgraded ubermenschen who might be super strong and live to 150 years old in good health, or even---as absrud as it sounds---their visions proclaim in teh future man will be made to live forever.
convnetional wisdom gained by THOUSANDS of years of generations of human beings--------is simply tossed out the window in these relgiions. they are a departure.
zoltan is a depaturist not to be taken seriously.
There is more to this life than meets the eye.
For the lack of a better way of describing it, I think it may very well have plenty to do with the state of soul
Soul don't change much. And that's what they don't wantchoo to know.
Although the topic is extremely important, I felt that Brandon Smith did a relatively too superficial analysis in the presentation of his views of that topic.
I begin with the concept of SUBTRACTION, from which follows ROBBERY. In order to engage in a better creative synthesis of ancient mysticism with post-modernizing science, one should recognize the ways in which the biggest bullies' bullshit world view was able to dominate the philosophy of science, in similar ways as all other social enterprises.
The most important radical transformations come from understanding the ways that common sense ideas about time and space have been proven to be wrong and backwards. One of the most important ways that our mistaken presumptions showed up was when an ARBITRARY MINUS SIGN was inserted into the equation of entropy in thermodynamics, which was then extrapolated into information theory.
The general measurement problems, that emerge out of quantum mechanics as unavoidable, may be interpreted as that everything that human beings "know" must necessarily be based upon relative subtractions, of parts from the Whole, which are therefore always relative lies or illusions. To the degree that we define any living being as separate from its environment, then across those boundaries it must take energy, and that taking is basically robbery.
Therefore, the fundamentals of any good scientific analysis of human realities always result in the discovery and demonstration of systems of organized lies operating robberies. The systems of understanding that people develop in that context are different degrees of imperialistic information systems. All churches, corporations and countries are basically organized systems of lies operating robberies. The bigger those are, the more that they were historically successful by doing that. Everyone has some power to perceive and tell stories, with their related power to rob, and to kill to back up that power to rob. Groups of human beings are organized to do that on larger scales.
Although I enjoy the kinds of intellectual exercises that Brandon Smith has engaged in above, and I believe that the basic issue is indeed extremely important, I regard his approach as being very shallow. I have been working upon the issue of developing a better creative synthesis between ancient mysticism and post-modernizing science for several decades. I believe that ENERGY IS SPIRIT, while entropy is the way that energy is distributed in time and space, with the proviso that time and space do not exist the way that energy exists.
I think that the degree to which quantum mechanics and the special theory of relativity have made it possible for there now to exist systems of globalized electronic fiat money frauds, backed by atomic weapons, makes the original theories of quantum mechanics and special relativity EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Indeed, it makes overwhelming good sense that the philosophy of science is the most important thing to a technologically based society, such as ours has increasingly become!
However, I do not believe that most people who talk about the need for "paradigm shifts" get remotely close to actually doing those to a sufficient degree, in which category I would include Brandon Smith, as another typical example of a reactionary revolutionary. I believe that there should be a series of intellectual scientific revolutions in the philosophy of science, which then apply to political science, and especially to the combined money/murder systems.
As I have outlined in many of my previous comments posted on Zero Hedge, as well as have been expounding upon for several decades in other ways, I feel that few people appreciate how extremely paradoxical the inherent nature of all human knowledge must be. Social and political authorities tend to try to suppress that, rather than appreciate it! Moreover, it was often the case that ancient mystics would end up eventually laughing, or falling silent, after their attempts to use transcendental poetry to try to express the deeper nature of the universe, through any symbolic communication, since the paradox of language is the very nature of language itself!
I do not think we take seriously enough the notion of the conservation of energy, and that time and space actually change to accommodate that, rather than the other way around. Since it is arguable that information is a form of energy, there would then be a principle of the preservation of information. The human "soul" would then be an expression of that preservation of information, similar to how the human body is an expression of the principle of the conservation of energy, which includes the special case of the conservation of matter.
I sympathize with "atheists" who interpret that word to mean not obeying any old-fashioned religions, which assert that they have some authority from "God," which gives them some claim to have monopolized morality. However, I do NOT sympathize with "atheists" who fail to appreciate that ENERGY IS SPIRIT.
An attempt to asymptotically approach an appreciation of the notion that ENERGY IS SPIRIT results in a total reversal of the currently established common sense ideas about time and space. That reversal has already been demonstrated in mathematical physics, as proven by the fact that atomic bombs go boom! However, almost none of the established, old-fashioned religions and ideologies have assimilated enough of that kind of paradigm shifting in a profound enough way. (While Brandon Smith's article above could be regarded as another sort of whipping boy that I lash for its failures to pursue its own line of thought further, rather than still remaining too shallow.)
As I said above, the actual mathematical physics expressed in the entropy equations demonstrated that all information and power had relative negative values, not positive values. However, an arbitrary minus sign was inserted into those equations, so that the measurements of information and power would end up being expressed in positive numbers. We arbitrarily reversed what the mathematical physics itself was telling us, because we wanted to. All private property was based on backing up claims with coercions, with money being measurement backed by murder. All of that actually had relative negative values, however, we reversed all of that to pretend those were relative positive values.
We generally live in a Bizarro Mirror World, where everything appears proportionately backwards. An expression of that was governments were the biggest form of organized crime, controlled by the best organized gangs of criminals, which is why their agenda of advancing their plans for some New World Order are so problematic and dubious. In response to that, I too propose thinking differently. However, the necessary kinds of changes to our habitual ways of thinking that we are used to, and therefore, are the language that we use, goes far beyond what most of the various sorts of reactionary revolutionaries like Brandon Smith, et alia, tend to do.
The so-called "battle for the human soul" is merely more of the same old struggles between different imperialistic information systems, operating different systems of organized lies and robberies, which are in some dynamic equilibria with each other. There was no known beginning nor end to that, but rather, one could say that desire creates the universe, in the sense that the moment we perceive any subtraction, or separation, then we are simultaneously defining a situation where there are organized lies operating robberies.
The basic human condition is building mental models of the world, with mental models of ourselves within those models of the world. The use of any language presumes that. Doing that is based on Subtraction, which then necessarily results in Robbery, as the basic human condition, due that basic way that we are perceiving our world, as mental models, including through mental models of ourselves ... which results in there necessarily being infinite tunnels through those models of the models of the models, which then gives rise to those being able to manifest as infinite tunnels of deceits, as the means whereby human civilizations are controlled. The ruling classes are engaged in a war against the consciousnesses of those that they rule over. All the other varities of warfare tended to be expressions of that deeper war, which was a deeper "battle for our souls."
My views are that we should regard human systems as manifestations of general energy systems. However, that can not be properly done unless we correct the profound errors made regarding the ways that we understood the concept of entropy BACKWARDS! Nothing in most of the works by people who are critical of the established systems appear to even begin to consider being more thoroughly critical in those ways. The most basic ways that we think about time and space, and measure time and space, are wrong and backwards. Therefore, it should not be too surprising that our established monetary system is based on enforced frauds!
One of the reasons for that are the degree to which, as stated by Brandon Smith, that:
"The most important aspect of archetypes for our discussion is the existence of opposing views, or “dualities.” The concepts of good and evil, the concepts of conscience as well as guilt and regret, are not necessarily taught to us."
Indeed, learning language is an innate ability that human babies have, which comes preset to be able to learn languages, that tend to variously manifest "DUALITIES!" The ways that different people, with different languages, cut the world up can be quite different, and even done in almost opposite ways by some cultures versus others, however, that process of dichotomization is ubiquitous. Since any human infant can learn any language that it grows up in the environment of, there is clearly some degree of innate transcendental poetry capacity that comes with being able to grow a human brain in the society of others.
That is to say, it is basic human nature to be able to make mental models of the world through the processes of SUBTRACTIONS, which get organized into systems. Furthermore, that applies also to the models of ourselves, that are made within our models of the world. After we have engaged in that SUBTRACTION, then across the boundaries there must necessarily be ROBBERY, as the basics to how any living organism lives, after we define it as separated from its environment.
From that perspective, I always regard guys like Brandon Smith, and his promotion of the so-called "Liberty Movement" as amusingly being almost perfectly still BACKWARDS in the ways that they think about "Liberty." Generally, almost nobody who talks about "freedom" seems able and willing to engage how that concept could be reconciled with the principle of the conservation of energy. Most of those who begin to try to do that succumb to misinterpretations of quantum mechanics, in forms which are fancy footed ways for them to violate the principle of the conservation of energy, without admitting that they did that.
Basically, when it comes to basic chemistry, of the kind where human beings need food, water, and air to live, because they are living fires that need that fuel, the principles of the conservation of energy (& matter) are extremely well proven, with no significant ways that anyone is making food, water, or air, out of nothing, in order to be miraculously "free" of the need to eat, drink and breathe (as well as excrete and exhale too).
The most basic scientific understanding of human beings at the present time perceives them as entropic pumps of energy. However, we have developed that understanding in the most BACKWARDS ways possible, because we ended up understanding entropy BACKWARDS, while basically continuing to presume that we understood time and space, while those presumptions were BACKWARDS!
The source of "freedom" is that there was never any absolute subtraction, therefore, the processes of robbery are never finished. The individual was always only relatively subtracted from their environment, and their real "freedom" comes from the degree to which they were NOT subtracted, and therefore, the degree to which they did NOT have to engage in robbery, to take energy across their defined boundaries. That has been variously expressed in metaphors such as we are the ocean of energy, not the whirlpool of water, that is a form that ocean of energy manifests, and so on and so forth, through various other sorts of ancient mysticism transcendental poetry bla, bla, blah, which I am attempted to reconcile better with the advances made in science.
In general, I regard reactionary revolutionaries, like Brandon Smith, and his ilk, as being relatively pathetic in the degree to which they promote more radical truths. Their kinds of analysis have only barely begun to scratch the surface of the ways that the biggest bullies' bullshit social stories are dominating our society, making the language that we use and the ways that we think become deep forms of controlled opposition, that was integrated into the established systems.
In my view one of the most common features of scientific revolutions in the past (e.g., see Thomas Kuhn's book on The Structure of Scientific Revoltuions), was the development of UNITARY MECHANISMS to synthesize the previously mistaken views based on false fundamental dichotomies.
UNITARY MECHANISMS MOVE THROUGH DUALITIES.
Understanding things using more unitary mechanisms, instead of relying upon previously presumed dualities, is metaphorically like going through the looking glass of our Bizarro Mirror World. Brandon Smith, as another typical example of a reactionary revolutionary, continues to rely too much upon the old-fashioned false fundamental dichotomies, and so, continues to elevate those to being innate DUALITIES, which then provide the basis for his assertions regarding what I regard as impossible ideals, that actually cause the opposite to happen in the real world.
In the article above, Brandon Smith summarized that view by stating:
"The concepts of good and evil, the concepts of conscience as well as guilt and regret, are not necessarily taught to us. Rather, we are born with such elements already within us. The fact that we are born with an at least unconscious understanding of good versus evil means we have the potential power of choice, a power beyond the realm of environment and beyond the reach of would-be tyrants and collectivists. If this does not constitute scientific evidence of a human “soul,” then I do not know what does."
As I have attempted to explain above, Smith utterly fails to go through enough of the deeper revolutions in the philosophy of science, which are needed to reconcile that with ancient mysticism. Instead, he continues to promote his own preferred sorts of false fundamental dichotomies, which then manifest as the related impossible ideals. That results in a sterile, dead-end view of the differences between theists and atheists, etc. ...
After one begins to understand the full meaning of the ways that we reversed the entropy equations, by inserting an arbitrary minus sign into them, throughout the realms of thermodynamics and information theory, then one has a way to better understand that ENERGY IS SPIRIT. One is then better able to perceive how the development of science as a social enterprise compromised with the biggest bullies' bullshit world views on its path in the past, which sort of "threw the baby out with the bathwater" when developing the philosophy of science.
My kinds of political science fiction and fantasy are based on a series of intellectual scientific revolutions in the philosophy of science, which then apply to political science. Science itself has to be liberated from profound lies, before it can become better expressed through any "Liberty Movement." I like to daydream that there may emerge a more politically significant transnational scientific community, which would enable the development of a Translithic Civilization, to be able to move beyond the current styles of social pyramid systems developed by Neolithic Civilizations. (Those social pyramids thereby become more correctly perceived as actually being toroidal vortices.)
In general, I am in favour of some Transhumanism, and some New World Order, or Global Government, just NOT the kinds advanced by the banksters and their buddies, which are merely bigger social pyramid systems based on bigger systems of legalized lies, backed by legalized violence, which are deeply deceitful and fraudulent, and which therefore require continuing attitudes of evil deliberate ignorance in order to still be socially successful ... I.e., technologies become trillions of times more powerful and capable, but that will still be channeled through social and political systems based on the maximum possible deceits and frauds, where the ruling classes continue to wage war against the consciousness of those they rule over, while that continues to have terrible blow back effects upon the consciousness of the ruling classes too ???
Although I kind of agree with the idealized goals promoted by guys like Brandon Smith, I tend to regard the mechanisms that he promotes in order to accomplish that as still being backwards, (while guys like him continue to be proud of how backwards that is!) On the contrary, my promotion of the notion that ENERGY IS SPIRIT is a return to the source of ancient mysticism. The ways that I do that require correcting the errors made in the mathematical physics, that enabled science to progress, up to a point, which reached a dead-end in social sciences, due to the paradoxical ways that warfare was the oldest and best developed social science, whose success depended upon deceits.
Therefore, I promote my preferred kinds of political science fiction and fantasy, wherein enough people correct their erroneous presumptions in their philosophy of science, so that our technologically based society can be transformed. In that context, I find contributions to that debate made by guys like Brandon Smith to be useful, especially since I believe that those topics are IMPORTANT. However, as I have attempted to explain above, Smith does not come within light years of sufficient paradigm shifts in the philosophy of science, but rather attempted to still shoe horn advances in mathematics and physics back into the favourite false fundamental dichotomies and related impossible ideals found throughout various sorts of old-fashioned religions and ideologies, which are still way too much like controlled opposition groups when they are doing that!
Although long I enjoyed the time I took to read it Thank You.
Yeah, Sub MOA, I up-voted your previous comments too!
Radical Marijuana I always enjoy reading your massive comments. Your wisdom and ability for out-of-the-box thinking is impressive. We should meet up one day! (assuming you truly are in Vancouver)
Thanks, Quantum Darwinism!
I like your Zero Hedge handle.
I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, but I now live in Montréal, Québec.
Lived in Mississauga Ontario for 8 years as a kid. Left Canada a long time ago.
If I ever visit Montreal will definitely look you up RM!
Not sure you have ever noticed but life seems to emulate existence within a massively multiplayer roleplaying compute game ... only in 3 dimensions. I would guess that the creators of The Matrix and Tron built upon this idea.
Our DNA has undeniably characteristic of computer memory, ROM or more likely PROM.
We perceive energy wave forms as solid matter... we know E=MC^2, but cannot define the building block that turns one into another ... most likely wave forms and that is what we perceive. Wave forms that appear as solid, but really are not.
We see in 2 dimensions and translate it in the brain into 3 dimensions.
However, if we were inside a computer game, our universe could be essentially infinite on the inside, while finite on the outside... and anything would be possible as long as it was programmed into the game. Distance would only exist in perception and not in reality.
The "Creator" is the programmer. Gods could insert themselves into the game, the future could be known and there could be an "Adjustment Bureau"/"Men in Black". Crop circles with the touch of a button, portals from one place to another ... Walk in characters "Hitler", "Obama".
One could go on and on... but how then does spirituality fit in?
Notsobad - Google "what is the 4th dimension"
IF evolution happens everywhere and IF deviations are created by radiation in those other places it would mean that one micron of learning by each living entity would be invaluable, despite what level each being was at in the evolutionary scale.
If I was at the top of the evolutionary foodchain I would spend my time finding new ways to recreate to avoid boredom, perhaps even attempting to create a totally new existinal paradigm.
What I know is fact is the process of evolution applies on earth so I try and keep learning to improve myself and my world for the sake of posterity. I do believe we are a few short centuries to finishing our evolution and returning to energy form, defeating death in its classical definition. It's probably science is just attemlting to repeate natural processes already in existence regarding death and tranaformations. Matter certainly does become energy again at some point.
Subtraction, who knew? Aside from the random minus sign you imply is applied mathematically, are you referring to a process of elimination when viewed from a cognitive/psychological pov using language development being universal as your example? Wouldn't it be simpler to say that humans have an innate ability to percieve discrepancies, and make judegments on what is as much as what is not?
Otherwise, your critique on Brandon's effort was rather scathing. I believe he owes you a response.
John Maynard Keynes himself predicted in 1930 that technological advancement and economic abundance would result in a three-hour workday and infinite time to amuse oneself.
I haven't worked in 20 years. Maybe he was right.
I'm going to college. I learned at college that everything that exists is based on made up concepts such as undefined points. In language meaning arises out of friction between the nuances of words. Everything seems to have a quality of religiosity to it. On ZeroHedge I've learned of all the various aspects of the ChairSatan, central bankers and the like as well as money such as fiat which represents value that can be used to exchange goods and services even though it is created out of thin air. And of course, Bitcoin that can be stored in the brain. The world is a strange place to the Q99X2.
It isn't just religion the NWO wants extinguished, but also the family and voluntary organizations and the calculus is rather simple. Religion, family and voluntary organizations give the individual identity and provide mitigation of the perils of life.
Destroy these institutions and the individual stands alone against the world, he or she is one misfortune from seeking the state as his or her protector; and the refrain will be something on the order of Remy Zero's "Save me" (and I don't care how you do it).
If religion was a priority these leeches would not have a cause for thier wars atleast not ones they could push so easily
the family has long since been destroyed by whirly gigs gadgets and iphones not to mention the complete lack of family discipline from which now we have an entire generation of parents who fear .gov so the family unit is (for lack of a better term) non-existant.
voluntary organizations well thats full circle back to religion barring the corporate orgs ya know those non-profit filth who are completely for profits and call it the cost of keeping the org up and running ( take in $6billion then ship $1 million in rice to where ever while the CEO and co-horts extract the rest )
As for "Remy Zero's "Save me" (and I don't care how you do it)." we've been riding that train for a while AKA the Free Shit Army and its like
"This, of course, disregards the fact that children are already born with the prospect of choice, which is why many children who grow up Christian do not practice it later in life, and why many children from atheist homes end up joining religious movements. The idea that all children are permanently molded or damaged by their parent’s unchecked beliefs is complete nonsense."
Untrue, If you are born a Muslim in a Muslim country you have no choice whatsoever, you will die a Muslim.
Not quite true, some muslims renounce islam and they then
- get executed or murdered
- move to a more liberal area (big city, the West), I lived up the street fom one in Cairo 20 years ago.
- appear muslim but practice another religion (or no religion) in private. I know of many in Cairo just like that.
A good example of an ex muslim is Mosab Yousef (son of the founder of Hamas) who now lives in the West as a practicing Christian. If he ever went back to Gaza....
There are currently over 50 million ex muslims, so most don't die (quite a few go to my church).
You lost me at "atheism is evil blablabla..."
I'm not an atheist by the way, I was born and raised Catholic, and became agnostic as I grew up and started questioning.
Gave you 1 star for the article because I think it would be more appropriate to keep it secular.
del
Soul? No one gives a fuck about your soul - they want your output, your economic value, to be used as a little energy battery in order to further the financial plans of someone else. If your soul happens to wither and die during this process, oh well, Bring Me Another!
D and R. Duracell and Energizer.
I'm don't believe in god for the same reason I don't believe in the state's technicians. They provide no way to verify their claims.
Thank you Tyler.
I was reading Daivid Icke about our perception last night and it blew my mind as to what he said about what we perceive. The shape shifting is admittedly tough to grasp but my otherwise narrow mind is riding along with the book "Perception Deception". We are on the brink of a massive paedophilia/satanist revelation in Britain and I'm following the agenda behind what this evil is about.
I lived in Saudi Arabia - supposedly unfree 5 years yet felt wonderfully free to "homebrew" my existence - not just beer of course but all our entertainments - amateur theatre, rock bands, desert trips and our entire reality there were self made. It was liberating not many who have lived in such places can understand untile they come "home" to the West and realise soemthing is seriously wrong. Even living in Catholic Bavaria as I do near the Alps, you see through the tradition such as maypole, summer bonfitres on shortest day, the "Krampus", as pagan underlays to a deeper truth here.
Now I'm starting to realise why Western life is so oppressive.
Big topic could comment for hours.
A. As I have mentioned a number of times, to fully appreciate "The Communist Manifesto", it is helpful to read both "The Prince" and "Rules for Radicals" first. In doing so, it lays bare Marx's unexpressed motivation to entwine the masses with a lie: "That they mattered to the so called communist leaders".
The communist leaders wanted to use the masses as a power base to take power from others, but never had any intention of sharing power with the masses.
B. Growing up without religion, I never understood it. However, after over 40 years of being tortured (literally) by an unseen (mostly) physical presence, one night I reached a point where I could not take it any longer. A few years after officially taking on Christianity (which alone did not work) I prayed for help and he came (in a physical representation), dispelled the dark force and now it seemingly works to call on him to instantly dispel them if they ever return ... and they have occasionally. This is not religion, but I have made a choice. Now, knowing what I have experienced (this and more) it is a choice I will never revoke. Crazy, I am sure, to those who have not experienced similar. I could tell you many crazy stories.
A battle for souls, indeed.
How refreshing that B Smith redefines atheism in his own image and so many here get caught up in the distortion of his "view."
"What atheists don’t seem to grasp is that atheism is itself based on an act of faith: faith in the idea that there is nothing beyond our perceptions of existence." --Alt-Market.com
Eeeenntt, wrong!
Totally fallacious assertion. What you don't seem to grasp is what atheism is based on. Atheism, which is conveniently defined by the religious establishment, does not assert "that there is nothing beyond our perceptions of existence." This straw man might gird your self-satisfaction, but it is utterly incorrect and won't serve here.
An atheist simply doesn't waste his or her precious time with primitively absurd and fundamentally divisive ideologies -- such as Bhuddism, Hinduism, Islam, the Jesus religions, the New Agey stuff, Judaism, Scientology, etc. -- but is always open to changing his or her mind based on new evidence. This actually makes an atheist agnostic as well; of course, theists don't account for this as they rally around their obscenely biased and demonizing definition of "atheist."
...And no, your most powerful experiences of transcendence -- those overwhelmingly emotional moments of "spiritual" connection in which you're left just knowing that your god is the one true god and all others are wrong -- are not evidence that your religion is the right one. Followers of all faith systems think their transcendental experiences prove the truths of their respective religions, yet those very religious truths necessarily refute yours. Bummer.
Exactly my point. But so MANY otherwise candid commenters here get caught up in this goddist sired claptrap and can't see that the framework that (for a lot of them ) their republic was founded upon is that freedom of religeon does not IMPLY religeon.
But that got subverted too (surprise) at the expense of free thinking.
I think you are describing Agnostic, not Atheist. I believe Atheism is practiced as an act of faith. Most people who claim to be atheists approach it as a faith based no God model with no inspection beyond that. Then there people who try to claim God and Jesus don't exist, religions are bad, and then tell you they are Satanists in the next sentence. People can't claim the mantle of rationality their position is illogical to the point of absurdity or completely unresearched. In general Atheists seem to have faith that cosmology has disproven God the creator, when it has not, and it changes its' theories completely every decade.
You really have to read the Communist Manifesto to realize what a complete and total idiot Marx was. Seriously. The guy knows absolutely nothing about economics. It is a traditional cult as much as any other. I am not throwing that term around loosely either. It goes right down to insisting that you can't truly get married and everyone should have access to your wife. What kind of economic theory goes into the bedroom or lays claim to your wife? It is nuts. Only someone with slavery in the blood would want Marxism. It is the mark of an impaired intellect. It is so full of contradictions, baseless assumptions, and inability to explain itself that your head will spin if you have any knowledge of history or economics at all.
ALl Communism should be fought with extreme prejudice. It is the ultimate cult of slavery. It should be looked at the same way as Islam or Scientology trying to take over the government. You have to fight it tooth and nail. You'll not see me slaving away on a potato collective under the Islamic Marxism that lazy people think will make them equals.
Better dead than red.
Bring back HUAC.
I see there are some Marxists morons here downvoting. It won't make Communism work. Sorry. Marx completely misunderstood economics and comes off as a wannabe pervert cult leader. If you can't read that book and see how big of idiots Marxists and Communists are, you have a problem. If you think you will get something for free under Marxism, you won't. Everyone will get less and you will have gun at your head while you farm potatos. Then you won't get any potatos.
Yes, that is so right! Marx doesn't understand anything from economics, yet his ideas have been followed by millions of people all over the world for 150 years, but our ultimate moron Quin, who noone goves a fuck about, is the most credible expert on economics.
Pathetic is the best way to describe this level of delusion :)
I'm not expert on athiesim, but the way you describe it sounds heavily biased. You don't need to believe in God to have a moral compas, to seek truth and justice, to treat people the way you'd like to be treated, etc, etc. God does not own those concepts and values. They the foundations on which religions build their... whatever it is they build.
zipit, how can you have a moral compass if you have no start or end point coordinates? Morality is either the product of some theistic orders (10 Commandments, rules of Karma, or whatever) or the product of human hubris.
The morality of believers comes from fear of punishment.
The morality of non-believers comes from empathy.
Which is the more wholesome I wonder?
I believe the second. Wait – does that make me a believer?
"The morality of believers comes from fear of punishment."
There certainly is a proverbial carrot and a stick. But as one grows in their belief, and comes to know Him, it is from our imperfect love of Him that we wish to follow, albeit highly imperfectly, the path for which He created us. The willfully hardened heart of an atheist cannot comprehend such a thing without accepting the grace to open himself to it, but that is possible for anyone.
I stopped reading after "atheism became the dominant cult for communists" just another religious moron with no knowledge of philosophy, history, or rather of anything.
come on Tyler, there are better qualified conservatives than this charlatan you are promoting here. Or wait, maybe this is is as good as it gets in those circles...
luckily, these Christian morons are part of a species on the verge of extinction. Future is the atheists'.to take. And both this idiot and morons supporting him know very well these are just acts of desperation. Laugh your ass off at these clowns and pity them. Not even worth getting angry at them.
Funny thing is exerything will become extinct over time. At least thiests have a chance of immortality but the chances of the cult of atheism surviving is zero in the infinity of time.
It's 2 thousand fucking fourteen and you still believe in the cosmic sugardaddy that'll reward you if you behave nicely? You believe in the absurd concept of an immortal soul?
It's nuts how crazy some people are and are allowed to make decisions over other people and things.
Here's a mind-blowing concept: how about being ethical, nice for the sake of being nice and ethical? I promise you, being nice produces good results.
It sickens me that religious people can't wrap their head around that.
A good person does what is right because it is right.
A person with questionable moral values needs promise of heaven and threat of hell to keep them in line.
HehehehHehehe.. yes sure, atheism endorsed by those like Carl Sagan, Einstein, Hawking, and the majority of highly intelligent and educated people will become extinct but religion of the morons will prevail?? Only in your wildest wet dreams may be.
“I am not an atheist. An atheist is someone who has compelling evidence that there is no Judeo-Christian-Islamic God. I am not that wise, but neither do I consider there to be anything approaching adequate evidence for such a god. Why are you in such a hurry to make up your mind? Why not simply wait until there is compelling evidence?” - Carl Sagan, 1986
What is difficult for brainwashed ant-brained libtards to understand is that those brilliant minds that you named were NOT atheists, but agnostics rebelling aganist religious zealotry that has been, is and will be the greatest cause of mass murder on this planet.
this is simply playing with words, nothing else. Sagan in many other quotes I do not have time to dig for now said things similar to you posted, adding that in light of the evidence we have, one cannot find any reason to argue in favor of a God. In other words, his agnosticism is not one that stands at an equal distance to theism and atheism.this is a view shared by almost all atheists including myself, who are more than happy to accept the existence of a god IFF there is enough evidence to do so. the real ant brained ones are those believing in imaginary gods, angels, demons, Satan and whatnot, and defending their idiotic beliefs like the Dragon in Sagan's garage. I recommend you direct these criticisms to them rather than the atheists.
So, you're just another proponent of the "Us vs. Them" ideology? Duh...
Yes, It's called self_defense from those lunatics who have been hunting us down for centuries in the name of their sick god..
More like defensive, as in insecure, as in afraid, as in frightened, as in fight or flight. Down right primitive for an intelligent enlightened being who don't believe in no stinkin god.
So you accept the non-existence of god based on what evidence?
Basic rule of logical reasoning: It is the one who argues for the existence of something that has to come with proofs. YOU CANNOT PROVE THE NONEXISTENCE OF SOMETHING, especially if the person you are discussing does the following:
http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/The_Dragon_in_My_Garage
Are we fucking discussing with high school kids here?
Two opposing beliefs, neither with evidence to support them. Look up the definition of faith. Your faith that god does not exist is no different than a person who has faith that god exists. My o my such a fuckin dumbass. Public school widget no doubt.
And simply for that reason, "Atheism is a belief too" is one of the most stupid arguments put forward by followers of organized religion. Atheism is the outcome of a person's evaluation of the existing evidence for the existence of a benevolent/malign God. This evlauation clearly depends on humanity's cognitive and scientific capabilities, and therefore it is open to change through time. So atheism is not an act of belief, it is refusing to believe in things we cannot find evidence for. (The same evlauation process is used by agnostics, and theists who believe in/are skeptical of the existence of a greater force, but do not follow any organized religion)
Organized religions have nothing to do with such an evaluation mechanism, and they are very clear about the existence of a God, the proofs for which are the fairytales in the supposedly holy texts.
These two approaches therefore are NOT the same thing.
"...it is refusing to believe in things we cannot find evidence for."
What is your evidence that god does not exist since you refuse to believe in god? You speakee ingles? Logic much?
Darwin, Einstein, and Isaac Newton were all religious. Bill Nye the science guy, not so much.
Hawkings is now an old man and has been wrong, or late, on the big questions of our time, including String Theory. He was also famously bested by Susskind who says the singularity still exists and that our reality is not the real reality, the real reality is the singularity. Our reality, and the perception of our lives, is a projection from just a tiny, tiny bit worth of the enormous total information contained in the singularity.
Quantum theory says we are made of fundamental particles that flicker superfast, in and out of both of these realities, on the Planck time scale. Susskind says (and Hawkings had to agree) that everything in the universe is really information and, just like in a black hole event horizon, the information is eternal, never created or destroyed. There was no exception carved out for consciousness, which is also the result of said particles.
After thousands of years, these findings would seem to vindicate the preconditions necessary for non-corporeal, extra-dimensional existence and singularities described in old religious texts. The rest ought to be an intellectual walk in the park and is what make NDEs (near death experiences) so interesting because they universally seem to verify the above.
A Harvard brain surgeon, and former skeptic, who had a NDE said afterwards that trying to describe the experience was like trying to write a book with only half the letters of the English alphabet. Because you can not only hear music, you can see it and feel it, it is part of you and, simultaneously, so is everything else around you.
Your whole post is simply "Delusions of grandeur" (btw, I could not care less about what you say about Hawkins, or all those quantum proves God nonsense. A few Brian Cox lectures, and relevant episodes of Through the Wormhole might actually fix those delusions)
And yes, a vast majority of scientists do NOT believe in God:
http://www.pewforum.org/2009/11/05/scientists-and-belief/
You sound insane.
But that's religion. Socially acceptable, collective insanity.
“Power is a poison well known for thousands of years. If only no one were ever to acquire material power over others! But to the human being who has faith in some force that holds dominion over all of us, and who is therefore conscious of his own limitations, power is not necessarily fatal. For those, however, who are unaware of any higher sphere, it is a deadly poison. For them there is no antidote.”
-Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Simply more evidence that having met the enemy, he is us.
Wow, Brandon, you've waded into a pretty deep set of subject matter here.
I certainly don't agree with all you've said, but kudos for stepping up to say it all with your name on it. In this time where it is popular and safe to be anti-Christ, you can count on the scathing personal derision of anti-adherents for the mere mention of even a non-sectarian faith.
I would say that the materialistic hedonism of a consumerist culture has lured more from their eternal birthright than the stultifying oppression of Marxist-Leninist systems - do what thou wilt. But, they've pretty much got us either way unless we think and live outside of their boxes.
It's very old that's for sure

The new world order has a simple directive. Maintain the .001% rich’s control of 7 billion people using liquid money flow techniques (LMFT) and front end political manipulators (FEPM).
The LMFT (not Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco) shifts fiat money between stock markets, commodities and real resources (like PMs). The emphasis is to keep possible fiat losses to a minimum while transitioning away from fiat exposure. Pivotal in the new world order are the central banker puppets who hold the LMFT together
The FEPM’s are like the man behind the curtain in OZ. A FEPM placates the masses with promises that government will take care of all your needs in return for your vote. For instance Obama is a FEPM from OZ who passes out brains to Obamacare voters, hearts to those who care for illegal (future voter) aliens, courage to global warmers and straw (with fire) to republican voters.
Let me re-write that first paragraph:
From its very inception, the Zionist/Leninist/Marxist ideology of the Soviet Union made it a central priority to dispel and subjugate religious and spiritual expression other than that professed by the Zionist controllers . The state was “god.” No other god could be allowed to flourish, for if the people were given license and freedom of belief in something beyond themselves and beyond the establishment, they would retain a sense of rebellion. The collectivist philosophy requires the utter destruction of all competitors; otherwise, it can never truly prevail.
as usual brandon delivers
I love when an author denigrates someone else (Zoltan!) and then can't distinguish between the proper use of "effect" and "affect" in his diatribe. I'm no transhumanist but sheesh--if you're going to challenge someone else's intellectual arguments, at least maintain the appearance of being intellectual yourself.
Priceless.
Sadly, that was five minutes of my life lost to nothing. At least I was able to see someone misinterpret Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle.
all belief systems are a dead-end.
theist or a-theist, one exists because of the other.
we live in a dualist reality.
but w/o something to believe in, who would/could we be?
Scientific Socialism.
That's what Sunstein has called it. It means they want to create a societal maze of rewards and punishments so people will learn like lab rats to do what TPTB want so they don't have to actually keep a gun at your head all the time. Controlling food, money, energy are key. It's Behaviorism on societal scale and the NSA is positioned to monitor and analyze what everyone deserves along life's little journey into the heart of darkness.
Biggest crock of shit on ZH in a long time.
Religion is the cancer that will destroy humanity.
There's a big difference between organized "religion," and individual faith and spirituality. Don't trow out the baby with the bath water.
Again, as in the Huffington Post column, the claim is that science knows all or will eventually know all and that whatever has not been dissected and observed by science like the conceptions of religion must, therefore, be dubious myth.
Oh my! If the Huff Post can make that claim then why doesn't our government understand something as "simple" as Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica to explain to the American public what happened on September 11, 2001 to 3 buildings?...
Believe those academics are far, far, far... from explaining the Universe if they can't get the basic concepts of gravity and motion on their own planet right!
Indeed a very fine read.
Who cares what they want, anymore . They have lost all respect .
You are about 3 times richer than you think .

The elite of there time slaughtered Pythagoras, jailed Galileo and mocked Copernicus. All scientific minds that believed in a creator but also refused to be intellectually lazy and pursue it using different methods of intepreting creation. One creating triginometry, one the father of relativity and one great astronomer.
I have found "seeking god" most useful and I beleive it but I was on e an athiest. However, I like to define my beliefs into a pathway of continuing to seek origination. That is what science seems focused on in any event, that and better tools to increase trade. Seeking origination focuses on the questions why and how.
So far my answer to orginiation as to how is evolution and seeding. The anwer to why is to improve the efficiency of the process to lesson the pain of the process. That certainly to me is not the end-all-be all and I do believe details matter.
It seems to me that reality is to some extent reflective. There seems to be some sort of phenomena with purpose beyond our understanding but if we are exposed to it we will all perceive it differently based on our bias, and then we will be provided with further evidence that supports our belief/bias due to realities reflective nature (this is more than confirmation bias and the minds filtering). Seems to me we know nothing, yet something of purpose is certainly there.
One thing about evil that always mystifies me is it's tendency (at least in modern form) to give a warning of what's coming down the pipe. This makes absolutely no logical or tactical sense. No predator warns it's intended prey before consumption. Is it possible that there are rules in the game, if so who makes the rules?
