The Iran Nuclear Talks (In 1 Lonely Photo)

Tyler Durden's picture

With President Obama proclaiming this morning "it's too early to tell" if a nuclear-deal with Iran is still possible; and apparent confirmation this afternoon that differences are "still significant," the US is said to be discussing extending the nuclear-deal deadline. Yet again no consequences (for a newfound 'ally') and yet again John Kerry finds himself purposeless... and now we hear Vladimir Putin will be calling Iran's Rouhani tomorrow (one can only imagine the topic of conversation).

h/t @Shahr2ad

As Reuters reports, talks between Iran and six powers, which include China and Russia as well as the United States and three big EU countries, are expected to fail to reach a deal to lift U.S. and EU sanctions by a deadline on Monday.

While the deadline, already extended in July, could be extended again, Iranian officials have said they are working on an alternative if the talks collapse altogether, which would see them look east and north for diplomatic and economic support.

"Of course we have a plan B," a senior Iranian official told Reuters. "I cannot reveal more details but we have always had good relations with Russia and China. Naturally, if the nuclear talks fail, we will increase our cooperation with our friends and will provide them more opportunities in Iran's high-potential market."

He added: "We share common views (with Russia and China) on many issues, including Syria and Iraq."

China is the biggest buyer of Iranian oil and one of the few countries to continue absorbing large volumes of Iranian exports without any big decrease since U.S. and EU sanctions were tightened in the past three years. Russia has sold Iran weapons, built a nuclear power station and could provide technology.

Both countries can provide diplomatic cover at the U.N. Security Council, where they wield vetoes that can help prevent sanctions from be widened.

But...

If the nuclear talks collapse completely - an outcome none of the parties wants - neither China nor Russia can stop the United States and European Union from taking unilateral steps outside the United Nations to expand the painful energy and financial sanctions that hobbled the Iranian economy since 2011.

However, it seems 'another' nation may be about to align towards the Russia-China axis... (via Sputnink News)

Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to have a phone conversation on Monday with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday during his meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif.

“Tomorrow, he [Putin] plans to talk to Rouhani, the administrations are in touch,” Lavrov said.

Too bad for ordinary Iranians living in their home country, simply because the Israeli/Arab military alliance will launch a massive air assault against Iran's nuclear and strategic infrastructure, bringing the Islamic Republic back to the stone age effectively. This unholy alliance will indeed employ non-conventional ordnance based on depleted uranium ammunition in order to destroy underground (and fortified) facilities. As a result of this military action, the Islamic Republic of Iran will have uninhabitable areas for thousands of years and the current regime will face a never seen chaotic collapse.

"...This unholy alliance will indeed employ non-conventional ordnance based on depleted uranium ammunition in order to destroy underground (and fortified) facilities..."

The current Hard, Deeply-Buried Target weapon is a 15-ton conventional GBU-57B Massive Ordinance Penetrator. It does not use depleted uranium and detonates deeply enough that little venting of nuclear material would occur when they bomb underground Iranian nuclear facilities. It can only be delivered by a B-2 or F-111, neither of which Israel possesses.

Israel's problem is - as always - the US taxpayer's problem. We shelled out a hundred mil or so a few years back for development of something then called the Next Generation Penetrator. No idea what form that will take, but the idea is to build something equivalent to a GBU-57B but far lighter. Light enough to carry on an F-15. I'm sure that one will be a low-yield nuke designed to detonate a few hundred feet down in solid rock. Nothing has been announced.

The first time we'll know about them is when Israel uses them against Iran. Which will piss off Iran enough to start WWIII, which will mean tens-of-thousands of dead American soldiers paying for Israel's psychopathy once again. Nettanyahu will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Russian nuclear forces both tactical and strategic have acted as a "suicide" guarantee of soverign Russian territory. Granted to use it is suicide but ,having the possibility that they might use it, forces the US and EU to tread carefully in their take over of the Russian Federation. Once happy to allow Russia to become a nuclear armed backwater, and economic corpse for US corporations and banks to pick the bones of, things have shifted in the last decade. The threat of a recovering independent Russia is just too much for Washington DC to bear. Just like a large, independent and economically viable Iranian state can not be tolerated by Israel. It's not a matter of proteccting the US and Israel, it is a matter of maintaing a power monoploy in Israeli and US hands.

Basically the Washington crowd is befuddled by independent states like Russia, Iran and China + Brazil and a few others. Their economies and banks are not subject to dictates coming from Washington and Tel Aviv. This doesn't sit well. Yet the growing threats by the US to tame these nations has driven them more and more together. In effect forcing them into alliance of mutual defense against the only nations left who declare an absolute right to determine the world order. That being the USA and Israel.

It is the faux Hebrew Babylonian Joos that are the problem......Those descendants of the 95% of Hebrews that did not return to Jerusalem when Cyrus freed them from 483 years of Babylonian captivity to go home and rebuild their city and their temple.

The Synagogue system and the horrid Babylonian Talmud emanated from those Satan-tainted reprobate minds of the phony Joos that were pushed out of Khazaria/Persia into Russia and Europe when Islam expanded into the region of Khazaria/Persia in the 6th and 7th centuries A.D.

They brought the evil concept of fractional reserve banking and acceptable usury to mitigate and obfuscate the inevitable economic degeneracy and confiscation of real assets inherent in that system out of that evil place into the Western World.  Duping kings and emperors, and modern-day self-serving politicians and businessmen, into debt and destruction for several centuries now.

It won't end well, but it will inevitably end.

"Give every nation nuclear weapons so they can protect themselves against the NWO."

That would not be a very "wise" move since the world is full of wack jobs that will use them. The more countries that have them, the higher the risks of a global nuclear war. All it would take is a Nuke false flag or rogue launch to kick off a full global nuke war. I fear we are already on the road to WW3 already, but I would prefer that we don't put the petal to the metal.

Yeah, sure, and unemployment is down, and Kiev isn't run by the CIA, and the US is approaching energy independence, and German gold is being repatriated from the NY Fed, and Russia has invaded Ukraine on a weekly basis, and the US government is only supporting moderate1 Syrian2 freedom-fighting3 rebels4, and every vote matters.

1 - extremist
2 - mostly non-Syrian
3 - oppressive
4 - invaders

Kerry: "Dismantle your nuclear program, even though it is constantly monitored by the IAEA and is in full compliance with your NNPT obligations, or the Israelis will carry out their blackmail threats against US politicians." - Fixed it for you.

either the US takes out Iran's nuke program or the Israelis will do it

The Israelis can't do it, not unless they employ the nuclear weapons which they neither confirm nor deny they possess. The resulting political, economic, and environmental consequences would spell the end for the Israel project.

I do not think Israel will bomb them from airplanes, if they could`ve they already would, as they hit Assad at least twice and Osirak in the eighties.

There must be something, probably S-400/Pantyr/TunguskaM2 combo that makes them hesitate, they are very careful with their pilots.

Also, the Washington-TelAviv axis does not want the whole of southern Irak falling to iranians, as its happening atm.
