The cartoonist is Canadian, that is per liter
Soon to be $/gallon in US
Do not count on that. The State will take this opportunity to raise Gasoline Taxes.
Signs

€1.60 per litre gasoline here. Yep, that's $7.50 per gallon.
where is here?
Netherlands.
Sadly, most of it is tax. Wikipedia has it at 68.84% of the gasoline price.
Listen.
Don't worry India has you beat.
Didja see the post about the chinese cesspool explosion? Open-air poop is much less likely to explode than contained poop. +1 for India.
Listen.
The "SHOCKING" thing is: how many Americans have a feces fetish.
Hey American. Go shove some bread crumbs up the ass of a turkey and then eat it!
OH!
Touche'! I can't speak for everyone, but personally I cut off the asshole (the entrails are already gone) and shitcan it. That said, I know that some folks think the greaser (asshole) is the best part.
It is inexplicable.
Similar in Switzerland. A gallon costs round about 6.90 US-$.
I paid $2.39 PER GALLON today in Oklahoma City.
In the city here it's running about $4.16 a gallon currently with a prospect for further reductions. I'm pretty satisfied with where it's at actually.
€1.46 per litre gasoline here, Denmark
Well, ride a bicycle, or a broom.
What is this whacked out, bizarre obsession with day to day gas prices?
Golly. You'd think that people would get smart and buy a Volt. They don't take any gas so they don't pollute and they're made in America by Americans earning good wages and have great health insurance. Save the Earth, one Volt at a time. Then you wouldn't have to worry about gas prices. In fact, if the government could find the wherewithal to fine people for not buying something, they'd make it so everybody had a Volt. And then government could sell their GM stock at a huge gain to the Treasury to fund social programs.
Gubmint motors makes nothing I want to own or drive...given Gubmint motors track record with recalls, an owner a (re)Volt might end up fried....
I wouldn't buy a new gm car, but would love to buy a 1967 impala four door black like the one on Supernatural. hehewhe. They use to make some great cars, now not so much. I have a toyota truck and a mazda atm. Both get great mileage and the truck has plenty of power. Toyota is more american made then any gm vehicle is. Their engine plant in Elenor WV is amazing and the poeple there are very grateful to toyota for the good paying jobs.
Electric cars are npt zero emission vehicles.
They just do the emitting externally, vial the grid.
Thanks, knukles may perhaps have known that, sarcasm detector on the fritz again?
electrical vehicules pollute more than thermic ones in their respective lifetime. know it.
electric bashing about futur and techs is total bullshit, humanity is putting all eggs in same basket ... until an overshot put everything in offgrid for a decade, then it's full walking dead mode.
And here I was hoping for Japan to come out with a car powered by radiation, silly me.
That obsession is called myopia Kaiser
Ja, ignore the multitude of systemic frauds- anything but those!
That sign says 130.9.
A little more than $1.30 gallon.
I do believe the little "L" stands for Liter.
Thus, your calculations are slightly off, by a factor of 3.79.
1.31 X 3.79 = $4.96 per gallon
sorry...you gets what you got for ' horseless carriage progress'. Murikans are waaaay too far gone to ride a horse .... try gettin world-acclaimed Kim K's big ass in a saddle.

Endeavor to persevere..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsL6mKxtOlQ
Yeah. One of my CA Progressive Buds cited that comment the other day "Endeavour to Persevere" as being uttered in some fit of Intelligence by one of His Heartthrob Politicians.
It's a fucking Oxymoron or sumptin'
Like "Voluntary Contributions" Contributions are by definition Volitional
Endeavour to persevere. Perseverance is a manifestation of endeavoring and vice versa.
Fucking morons.
One should at least attempt to try to endeavor to persevere. Stay goal-oriented to the desired results, and such.
Honest politician, good tax, fair regulatio etc etc etc.

From the linked article:
According to financial data provider Sageworks, profit margins at privately held gas stations were 1.7% in the 12 months ending October.
Isn't this a column for the Huffington post? I think this is an embarrassment to be posted on Zerohedge. I don't like the theme which seems to me to be if you go into biz and put an open sign on your door you are an instant millionaire. Hardly.
Only big business can afford to open a new business in this climate. The rules, regulation involved make it almost impossible unless your cut corners. Don't get caught cutting corners. Hire an attorney, accountant and grease some palms etc etc to open a business nowadays. Better to do business in cash under the table. If anyone ask old sgt shultz comes to mind,(I know nothing.)
Never in my life have I seen talking heads frothing at the mouth as they have concerning the "consumer gift of lower gasoline prices" What a crock of propaganda. Jeeze, you'd think life as we know it is over.
FUCK YOU ... XOM margin is about a third of GOOG or APPL
XOM paid $31 billion in taxes and has about 8% margin
and deduct the FED STATE AND LOCAL TAXES from the price of gas...
