One big inconsistency: AG McCullough said last night that officer Wilson knew about the convenience store robbery. Ferguson police chief Jackson previously said that Wilson did not know of the robbery. McCullough compressed the timeline and accepted Wilson's statement that he was listening to his radio whle attending at a call to an apartment for a sick child. Did AG McCullough have his staff interview the parent of the sick child to determine if Wilson's radio was on and could be clearly heard while Wilson was in the apartment? Probably not, why learn that the radio was off, that would interfere with fixing this case.

I beg to differ. I don't think it was and I think there was certainly a case for a jury trial to judge the merits of the case for itself.
No doubt young Mr.Brown was a thug and a petty thief, but that's not a good reason to blow his brains all over the pavement. The eyewitness reports I read did not conflict on two important points: He was already injured and had his hands raised (NOT at his waistband - which seems to be the universal verbatim police rhetoric for every shooting) when he was shot multiple times that ended his life.
As for the photographs of Mr.Wilson showing the injuries he allegedly sustained during the scuffle in the car, I looked and looked very carefully but could not see a single definitive proof of an injury. A zit here and there but nothing that would indicate being punched by a 400lb man, unless the 400lb man suddenly turned into a fairy and slapped him with the force of an anaemic gnat at the moment of the struggle. Mr.Wilson's "injuries" does not corroborate his accounts of the incident.

I won't go into the whole silly race baiting thing, I'm looking at this from a strictly legal point of rules set by precedents in previous police shootings (Tennessee-v-Garner and Graham-v-Connor), besides the important issues regarding the militarization of the police. If an officer shoots an unarmed injured man with his hands raised, then there really ought to be consequences for that lapse in judgement. Common sense to me, but apparently not to others.

The close-up photos showed he was injured. His left ear looked very odd, for one.
You keep mentioning "hands raised". Just because your hands are raised does not mean you are not threatening and does not mean you can do whatever you want. This is even assuming you can distinguish between "hands raised" and "hands in the air", which I doubt you can from the statements released. Even so, M. Brown just reached inside the car, trying to grab the officers gun. The little shit steps away, "raises his hands", and now starts charging towards the officer( with " hands raised") and with a shit eating smirk on his face like hes invincible. What would you do? Are you really going to let a 300lb man who just tried to grab your gun approach you, running full speed, just because his "hands are raised". Your failure to understand the facts of this case is disappointing. The first time the cop and the perpetrator scuffled, the cop was in the car and the perpetrator was trying to get his gun. He wasn't trying to punch him, HE WAS TRYING TO GET THE COP'S GUN. The fact that being in the car made that extremely difficult was the only thing that saved the cop.
When the giant black man came after the cop a second time, what would YOU think he was going to do, based on what he did the first time? The cop wasn't protected by the car this time either.

Either the law needs to be changed so that it is lawful for officers to shoot unarmed civilians who are surrendering, if they had been previously assaulted by the civilian. Or the case needs to be decided in a court of law under the current set of rules. I really can't make it any clearer than that. It is only important to me because there are bigger issues of police brutality and abuse of power at stake here.

The state CHOOSES what evidence to use in a grand jury. The whole point of the state PROSECUTOR is to PROSECUTE the alleged perpetrator and get an indictment. NOT to get him off. All shooters are taught to shoot for center mass at an attacking target and keep shooting until the target STOPS. Contrary to what you might think, bullets are often not as powerful as you think they are unless you hit the neck or head. For example, a .22 bullet even a shorter ranges doesn't pack much more energy than a baseball thrown at 90mph. It's very much survivable and when there is adrenaline involved and a 300lb man running into you with momentum, yes, it's going to take multiple shots from whatever gun it was that he's using to take down the target.

Anybody with meaningful self-defense training knows that when the fight gets to arms-length distances, and there is a significant physical size mismatch not in your favor, your options diminish to almost nothing. A Tazer gives you one chance-- one-- and if you blow it you're fucked. A nightstick? You might get one good swing in before he's on top of you. He'd already been attacked once, and he knew that if he left his gun in his holster, it was going to be grabbed and used against him, as THATS WHAT WAS ATTEMPTED THE FIRST TIME.

I can't speak to your claim about U.S. cops, I haven't seen the statistics. However I have a hard time believing that U.S. cops kills more people (per capita, not absolute numbers) than in crime-ridden countries like Brazil or South AFrica.

I'm 40+ years old....have had a few minor run-ins with the law (speeding, drinking, etc). Always said yes sir, no sir. Was almost always treated with respect (because I gave respect). Why? Because I know the system and the type of people they are. Was disrespected once...had witnesses, brought it to the attention of the police chief in a formal complaint. The officer in question was reprimanded (and later terminated for same types of charges). Again, know the system...and no, I didn't bow down to them, just gave them respect like I would anyone working in any hard people facing customer service job.
But, if I ran up to anyone and began beating them with a stick, I would think my changes of getting shot would escalate....tremendously....and rightfully so.

I think Officer Wilson showed a lot of restraint. He had a couple more mags on his belt, so he could have reloaded and popped 20+ more rounds into the fine upstanding young black man, to be sure he wasn't posing a threat to society. To me, the fact that the state couldn't provide enough evidence to get any kind of trial doesn't make me assume it was corrupt, it makes me assume that the prosecution didn't have a case.
