Great stuff William. The Mrs. and I have been having a go around for the last 24 hours. It started with a job offer I received on Tuesday and it was a good one and only a fool would take that offer. Well, it didn't go over well witht he women around here because they do not want to move. Well, OK, but there are not many offers like that out there.
This whole thing led to another discussion because I had to ask the Russian woman wife if SHE wants to try to get a job. My wife has an accounting background and completed four years at the University of Rostov-on-Don but did not graduate because she chose me. It was the immigration law ten years ago that you only had so many days to make your decision so she quit.
This has left a hole in her heart. I know it is something that she wants to complete. In other words she wants to go back to school. That is where we have the issue because I said that this would be a waste of captial. I have said this before, no one has ever checked to see if I really have a degree or not.(I do but so what) That is not what employers care about. They only want to know what licenses you have.
So I brought up the Series 7 license. I do not have that one so I really do not know but I do see jobs listed all of the time. If Mrs. M really wants to do something and she does, then wouldn't it make more sense to forego the diploma and just get the license? Mrs M is highly intelligent and could easily pass that test given the right study materials but she sets up barriers for herself. One of which is that she won't be able to get a job because she has a Russian accent. Yep, that is what she said. I had to ask how she she came to that conclusion and she said that she has a friend who has been through 40 job interviews with a U.S. acreddited degree and can't get a job. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? I don't care about who you know that is not getting it done.
Mrs.M looked into the Series 7 exam and told me that she can't do it because she needs to be sponsered by a bank. I had not read that but that is what she told me. Is it true? That is FINRA bullshit meaning it is .gov. If so there must be a work around. There has to be someone around ZH who has a S7 license and knows the game. I would greatly appreciate any advice.
I know that some women suffer from low self esteem at times but they are often quite capable of doing a great job it the correct environment. Mrs. M exclaimed that she does not know what securities are. For myself and most of you, that was a softball to be hit far out of the park. No one else knows either!
