That's because the douch bags were already there last night. The only sale worth mentioning left is the 20% off all firearms at walmart. Get a 10/22 and make your day better.
Ah, let 'em shop. For a lot of folks without the EBT Section 8 and other assistance, it might be real nice to find something under a tree for a kid not enjoyin' much these days.
You know what, Knukles, you're right. WTF, as long as they buy for others who cares.
Close to the last hurrah, hope the kids are taken care of as much as some of these kids are taken care of. World is going ugly, people need a memory to cling to.
Shit, I lose my composure some days when I read some of this crap. Let some people see some semblance of perceived joy.
Just driving through the average neighborhood it's shocking to see garages so filled up with stuff they can't park their cars in them anymore. You'd think that would cause most to pause and figure they'd reached their limit. Considering all the self storage units around, they probably have not.
Mr has suggested we use our ten acres as RV storage for some extra cash considering the local development doesn't allow them to be parked on the street. I have resisted this though his point of easy money is valid. I just can't stand the eyesore.
Storing shit outside the house brings down any neighborhood. At least they look like they are outdoing the Joneses. The Smiths are stacking shit on the roof. Competitive game. A new EBT TV hording reality show in the works.
We are living in a George Carlin routine. Only thing George left out was the part about mowing down other people in a frenzied rush to get at that stuff.
Yeah the holidays are the fucking worst. You are forced to hang out with people that youd rather not, talk about bullshit that you dont care about, and pretend that the world is just peaches and cream right now.
People are such pussys anyways. If you don't get a trophy for being "metro eugenic", tell your teacher/ handler, you feel sorry for them, and then punch them in the vagina. (or fake scrotum)
Relax. Public humiliation takes down every Jackass working in Washington DC. They are public servants, not unlawful con-artist collecting a paycheck. Pink slips are coming.
Our local news just ran a fluffer piece about how great Black Friday sales are looking, and all the happy people happily shopping happily. Then a piece about some Ferguson and Minimum-Wage protesters blocking access to malls and getting between shoppers and deals. Then a long self-promotional piece showing the TV station staff working on a huge-mongous food drive for the local food shelves, with a scroll of the names of local corporations that contributed to the much-appreciated food drive. The food shelves are happy because the economy is so great they keep running out of food to give to...I dunno, the happy shoppers shopping happily, maybe? I can't quite follow it.
OK, how many 180-degree turns can there be in one newscast? Are we seasick yet? Just so we aren't too nauseous to swipe our cards to buy moar.
Local news is a complete waste of time. A car accident, a house fire, a corner store robbery, a sex offender offered a kid candy and he ran away, another car accident, the weather report is that it is cold outside today, did you know that? Then sports highlights and mud-slinging political adverts in the middle along with a furniture store advert for no payments until 2016 in between each and every segment!
.....made all the more aggravating by the phony inane newscasters with their phony dipshit smiles and phony peachy-keen-sunshine blathering. ..........and don't forget about their other favorite news pieces: downed tree limbs, flooding, water main breaks and missing cute white coeds.
More hype than sales? Reports started coming in around 6:00AM this morning from the local mall and surrounding stores that shocked even me. Not only were the parking lots empty but many of the stores had more employees working than customers. Things did pick up later in the day.
Almost two years ago during a television interview on Bloomberg, Harvard economist Steven Roach put a retail sales consultant in her place who was crowing about strong retail growth. Roach pointed out that after discounting for inflation growth in retail sales compared to past years is mostly an illusion.
I wish Roach had gone to the next step and pointed out that what little growth does exist is built on a foundation of demand from huge government deficit spending. To make things worse the government has been forced to borrow much of that money. The article below delves deeper into this subject.
I normally avoid black friday shopping like the plague. However it coincided with a close friends' birthday so wife and I went to Beds, Bath and Beyond at 9 am. Parked at the door. The parking lot is shared with Best Buy. The lot was 3/4 empty at 9 AM. The BBB had three clerks, two wating for someone to show up. Not much store traffic. Bought our spin-mop (like I said, close friend) and left.
Wife decided I needed new undies and socks. Stopped at Burlington Coat Factory. Parked at the door. Parking lot shared with WinCo (groceries). Mass of cars at Winco, BCF had maybe 10% filled parking at 9;30. There is one cashier...sitting idle. The store was nearly deserted of customers. Got undies and socks, marked down by 70%. Spur of the moment purchase of a shirt/tie combo that was 99% off. Not sure if that was on purpose or not.
Picked up friend for birthday lunch took her to Olive Garden at 11:30. We were the only customers in the restaurant for an hour. The OG is at our local Mall. Parking was at a respectable 75% capacity (discounting the space taken up by a small carnival with kiddie rides and games).
After lunch, friend wanted to show wife a deal at Home Depot. What the hell, we go to HD. and park near the door. Parking lot is shared with a bunch of restaurants and a temporary Christmas Tree vendor (presumably HD is the vendor). It's about 1 pm, and there's about sixty vehicles parked. A three year old could roll a bowling ball down any random isle and not hit someone.
I, for one, do not believe the hype that there's a large black friday turnout. Years past, you'd have a hell of a time during the entire weekend just trying to find parking at any store. I think we're going to be seeing some headlines announcing bankruptcies in January.
The wife and I went to Lowe's and Home Depot at around 3pm. The parking lots were stuffed in the local malls. I normally avoid this but I wanted some safety items for my woodshop. Traffic at Lowe's was noraml for the most part. Home Depot had alot more traffic then usual. Most of the Black Friday items at Home Depot were still in place and most shopppers were picking up small tools for gifts. Most big tag tools were not a good deal to start with. I got better prices on some items I bought this year during the summer.
Reports from the local mall and surrounding stores started coming in around 6:00AM from my "shopping team" on the morning of Black Friday. They shocked even me, not only were the parking lots empty but many of the stores had more employees working than customers. This was something I felt was worth seeing first hand. My office is across from the second largest mall in my state so as I went into work an unplanned visit seemed in order.
Foot traffic inside the mall was far less than I imagined, most of the shoppers were younger women and older girls. These are considered the "core" and most diehard of shoppers. Many were carrying few if any bags, this indicates little in the way of buying. The article below includes a picture of foot traffic at 7:00am and looks at why animal spirits in reaction to Black Friday were far less enthusiastic than in the past.
Drove up to Wichita, KS Wednesday and back to TX on Friday. I don't do stores as online is just too easy so why fight crowds and guess if a price is a good deal. KS is full of gambling venues. On both Wed and Fri during normal work hours the casino parking lots were well filled. I guess not everyone is shopping for the holidays. otoh the one XXX store I saw had only a few truckers parked outside. Free porn on the web kind of ruined their business model.
lf, by chance, some of you may feel that the discipline on this ship is a trifle on the harsh side of strict let me remind you that it is our duty to seek out and destroy Her Majesty's enemies the foul and most foreign French.....Captain Hughes (Yellowbeard)
Newsflash: the rest of the world sucks too. America isn't the only country that's been importing the 3rd world for 50 years and pretending we're all equal.
We stuffed some folks...
Things looked really lame in San Antonio today, not even like a regular Saturday. Parking close to the doors all day, and so on.
That's because the douch bags were already there last night. The only sale worth mentioning left is the 20% off all firearms at walmart. Get a 10/22 and make your day better.
Ah, let 'em shop.

This would fit under the tree nicely.

Me like. Where is Santa, I need to go sit in his lap for a while...
I’m gonna get me one of’em double-sided TV sets. ;-)

As a counterculture, we sold our extra dinning table at a heavy discount to its used price.
Eloi v. Morlocks
No shit. What's wrong with buying stuff on sale?
The way it's conducted and the primitive and mindless attitude of the shoppers. To say it lacks dignity is an understatement
You know what, Knukles, you're right. WTF, as long as they buy for others who cares.

How does one explain the lack of Satan Claus?
Or maybe just don't shop at Walmart...
MOAR STUFF . MOAR CASH , MOAR CALORIES, BRING IT ON BITCHEZ LOL
Not a very realistic cartoon. The shopper is too skiny, the wrong skin color, and not tatted up enough.
...and not in a SocSec subsidized scooter, or wearing Scooter Gang colors.
tooo skiny ???
I think you have lived in Amerka all your life to the point where this is i guess is the norm lol
time for you to get a passport and travel the world

10 acres of flatland sounds ideal until you want to park something over the hill...
i LOVE it.......

-superb !

don't really like. Murika.
That's the quote I always use at Christmas parties. Never fails to bring everyone down/piss someone off.
Yeah the holidays are the fucking worst. You are forced to hang out with people that youd rather not, talk about bullshit that you dont care about, and pretend that the world is just peaches and cream right now.
You can always get a visitor's pass for serial killer lockup at Pelican Bay and engage in some off color sexual jokes.
They'd fuckin' love ya'

Buying a polished turd at 200% markup. GDP quarterly says Santa Claus cut back on cookies & milk during delivery route. See how simple this is?

It depends where you live. In my area, the walmarts are really busy.
EBT population must be high...I suggest moving
You live in Vancouver, WA.?
