Most of the adults had two parent families and some manners. The big spike in divorce and out of wedlock rates happened in the mid 1960’s so that would mean the kids who grew up on ravioli and video games would be coming on line about 1983. Today the video game, no dad, generation is what dominates Black Friday events.
The plundering of the middle and lower class financially and socially was intentional government policy, quadrupling the welfare payments, removing men from poor families, hiking divorce compensation, 99% custody awarded to women, all government programs meant to remove fathers from homes, breed criminals for the police state to hire cops, build jails, and incarcerated historic records of people.
When the USA goes down the true history of how a group of bankers destroyed this country needs to be written. All this destruction and death just so a few bankers can snort coke, fuck whores, and have a fancy apartment in NYC.

I may be completely wrong but, the odds are that the trend will continue..... about every 80 years or so, the world burns.... American revolution, Civil War, WWII.... and soon again.
What seems to be worse now is dependence on others..... before now, people still had farms and other ways to sustain themselves in times of extreme stress.... not anymore.
I'm 50yrs old now... I was young to be a kid of parents that lived through and fought in WWII.... I can tell you this.... my parents knew how to save for a rainy day... put things away.... so did my uncle... my grandmother's family lived on their homestead and farmed.... Imagine plowing ( just in one field ) 40 acres of peanuts with a mule..... 16" wide rows at a time.... they lived only a few miles from town but, they didn't have cars.... one of my great grandmothers sisters was scalped when she was left on the farm while others took the buggy to town. Those people knew adversity and knew how to deal with hard times.... they knew how to sustain themselves and live in remote locations without help from others.
Now, my mom would tell me about times in the depression.... where getting a ketsup sandwitch was about all there was in the house.... a pair of socks were a good Christmas present and, my grandfather worked through the depression and didn't lose a job during that time..... Of course, my grandmother would feed those hobos that came through that needed a meal... and the hobos marked their house so the next ones knew that they could ask for a meal there.... get this.... they'd always ask if they could work for it.... and, sometimes my grandmother would let them. Besides a job, my grandfather would hunt to put meat on the table.
What is coming will be worse than that, I fear..... If the govt. can't feed the population anymore... most will starve with 3 days of food in thier pantry and no way to get more.
The most scary part is that it wouldn't take much to make the most scary scenerio possible.... A massive terror attack.... a giant black swan.... a power grid outage... Once the trucks stop delivering.... you're 3 days from something we've never seen in this country.... and as things progress to our 80 year anniversary of the world burning last time, any of the above events seem possible.... another war seems more possible today than any other time.... the attitude of americans are worse than I've ever seen it in my lifetime.... out government is out of control..... in 1983 there were 3000 swat raids every year... last year there were 86,000 of them.... I am old enough to remember 1983 since It was my first year in college.... corruption, graft, lawlessness of the president himself astounds me.
Now, we're on to civil unrest in the streets of major cities....
You can call me crazy if you wish but, I moved out of the metroplex 3yrs ago.... my 10k watt, grid tied ( with battery back up ) solar farm is going in before the end of the year and, so is my well. Even if nothing happens, I'll be paying almost nothing for power and nothing for water next year.... and every year after that. I'm pretty remote but, not as remote as I'd like to be but, I am 7mi from a grocery store.
At this point, I've done all I can do and hopefully, that will be enough to ride out the storm on the horizon.
Hi Whirling. Thanks for posting this. This nation has lost her moral compass, and those who stil have one remain mostly silent. In my mind, rebelling and rejecting God is the root of this. We want to make ourselves God (which was Satans first sin).
Last year I moved out of the eastern metroplex onto a little land in country. I am situtated to go totally old school -- to make do even without solar (the equipment typically fails in several years and parts will probably not be available in a meltdown situation). It has been a delightful year getting a garden going, building a chicken coop, and meeting the neighbors. Stress level is way down. First time I've been happy in a long time. And what a blessing -- the neighbors are awake, prepared, and ready to defend.
My stress level is going down pretty drastically too.... and, I feel like you're right too. Long ago even when people had nothing... many times family members that couldn't find work would just start riding the trains and picking up odd jobs.... they didn't decide to bust up the neighborhood and demand that someone appease them.
I'm about an hour east of the metroplex.... I do still have to get downtown from time to time although I work from home almost 100% of the time.
I'm liking the solar idea because it almost pays for itself the minute you put it in... I may be paying a little every month for a while for it but, knowing I can charge batteries for high power lights, still take hot showers, run power tools, pump water out of the well and into the house and flush toilets and keep one big room cool in the summer is a big draw for me. sure, something may break but, I'll be ok for as long as I am in the meantime. They're pretty sturdy systems for the most part if put in well with good equipment.
It has been a journey.... I've already got the chicken coop and a fenced pasture, barn and tractor with a plow.
Hopefully, whatever is ahead will be short and not too drawn out. I seem to have pretty good neighbors too.... there is one hippy type down the street but, his son in law is onboard.... at least I have a road that is not a through street.... one way in and one way out....
My uncle... who went into the S. Pacific in 1942 told me.... "I've seen good times in the country and bad ones..... but, after WWII, they've all been good times.".... He was, of course, a child of the depression and fought in WWII, just like my father did.
We now live among people who can not conceive of hard times.... to think they could happen make you an extremeist.... It used to make you resourceful.... now you get labels... called crazy... ( I actually hope they're right )

BTW, I am not dismissing solar at all. I wish my well pump didn't need 220. The options for runing the well pump are expensive. My multi-year preparedness plan started with being able to make it with no technology (in case a worst-case scenario hit first). Not easy living but do-able. Got a wood stove going in next week. More fencing is in the works.
When my grandfather lost his job in the depression, he was blessed to find another even though it was several states away. If "welfare" had been available then, I doubt he would have taken it. Personal responsibilty was part of his character. I got disgusted with several of my former neighbors who were convienced - in their selfishness - that "entitlements" and ease of living were guarrenteed civil rights. I am so glad to be out of the DC area! There is a strong sense of delusion blanketing the area - I can't describe it any better than that. I moved many hours south and west and just love it so far.
Yep.... 1hp well pumps are expensive on electricity but, you don't have to run them all the time.... Look into Solar.... with loans cheap on interest, if you don't put in batteries, you will save more money than they cost to install, right now..... so, for a few dollars every month, you can put in a large system and what you save will pay the low interest loan against it.. and have battery back up...... 1/3 of the cost of the system will come back in the form of a tax rebate. If you make sure it is grid tied also... net metering will ensure that if you are producing more than you are using, you will get electric credits..... and if you turn a lot of things off, you meter will actually run backwards.
You can definately run a well pump from a solar install. For me.... running the freezers are the big deal.
I still have a rocket stove and a solar oven and can make it without but, I like being able to microwave stuff too.... even if your battery bank fails.... in a worst case scenerio, there will be a lot of 12v batteries out there to pick from if you had to replace a bank.
didn't know you were in the DC area.... I'm in the Dallas metro area.... actually outside it... got some good, "hard" neighbors out here... farmers, ranchers..... got on the VFD and now, I know most of the county police officers..... can even drive 3 minutes and get a fire truck if I need one. haha
Once you work a bunch of accidents, you meet the local PD... which in my case is only the county guys.... you also meet another family every time you go to a medical call... and, they always appreciate everything you can do..... the other thing is that when you get on the VFD, you get EMT training... so, I keep a trauma bag handy and a refib box... If you live out in the country... if you have a serious heart attack... you will die unless you get a rifib box on you quck and, that is no guarantee... the ambulanc can take 15-20minutes and, I have seen them take 35 minutes out here.... It's also really bad when you see some poor bastard hurt himself with an auger or something.... bleeds out before anyone can get there. Been on about a year and, I can use the hydrolic tools.... even went to training to learn how to open a school bus..... it was interesting... because those black stripes on the side of the bus are for the fire dept.... they show the level of the seat bottom and the level of the floor bottom in the case you have to extract kids from one. It's mostly easy using the stuff on a car.... just clip off the windshield and lift the dash with the spreaders.
It's fun putting out brush fires... structure fires are sad though but, out here, mostly everybody gets out..... the truly heartbreaking stuff are the medical calls.... sometimes the family is freaked at a death and you end up in the back of an ambulance with the paramedic team.... since there are only two paramedics... one drives and one fireman and one paramedic end up in the back.... sometimes you end up giving CPR to a corps for 45 mins because the paramedic won't call it for legal reasons.... ( firemen don't usually get on unless assistance is needed or the situation is dire ) the paramedic is pushing drugs and taking vitals and the fireman is doing the grunt work... giving CPR or getting things if they are actually alive.....and the family always asks questions which you can't answer for legal reasons.
LOL, I'm a country boy and always have been but, would you believe that I write software for a living? haha It's kinda cool to actually feel like you affect something instead of just some virtual computer program running somewhere..... I'm a country boy but, I have a city job.... have country ambitions but, I like the pay for as long as they'll pay it. LOL.... moving to, "the cloud" now with devstack, "openstack" now... learning the bindings and all the python stuff that makes it work now for a large phone company that is putting it in now.... that's fun but, I can't ignore our reality and the times we live in.... not the object servers... not the compute farms... not the datacenter life I have lived and demands my attention.... the people that have demanded my attention have meant much more.... the lady that told me she loved me when we scraped her off the floor when her children couldn't be there.... or every family who's parents we have done something for.... the structures that have been saved.... doing it again... Ask an electrician how you can get a 220 from a 110, My dad did it one time by just connecting wires to a plugin, and I can't remember if he plugged the left wire into the top-left receptacle slot and the right wire into the bottom right slot, or bottom left and top right, but ask an electrician, and make sure every part of the circuit can handle enough current so you don't burn anything down.
I agree with you on the rejecting God point very much. I don't know how many Christians are here but, I am a believer. The Bible is a very large book.... about 1/3 of it is prophesy..... it has all come true except for the times of the end. The thing is that you actually have to study it to know much about it. Most preachers get up on the pulpet and read one verse and go on an hour about it instead of teaching the book.... what it says... the background of what was happening as the story continues... I also think that a lot of the teachings by most churches are wrong.... For example, Eve never ate an apple... the bible never said there was an apple...... the other thing is for some churches to teach that the earth is 6000 years old.... I don't read that at all..( Adam's line I believe is 6000 years old ).... I also don't think that Adam was the first human.... ( since God created all living things on the 6th day along with man and woman... they were hunters and fishers etc.... Adam was a farmer and named all the domestic farm animals )... then rested and then created Adam's line after. Of course, this is all personal belief based on how I read it. If Adam was the first man then who did Cain marry after he left Eden? I believe Adam was Jesus' line and satan attempted the corrupt the line of Jesus... which was the first sin of Eve.

I also am a Christian and agree with you. I think over time many things known in the past have been forgotten, and our understanding of the full scope of history and God's plan has been nearly lost. Loosing real history down memory holes has been purposefully done by His enemies, and contemporary lazy and uneducated Christians have unwittingly contributed to it. I think the enemies' tactics are still the same as they were before the flood and their goal is a world full of selfish people who have rejected God. Their success is on display again in the Black Friday videos (connecting back to the main topic of the post).
and so.... another great shaking must happen again.... it's as if you don't need God when times are good and only remember him when you need him.
I also think that when you read the book... the spirit has to guide you...... I'm going to say a few things and those that have never had it happen to them won't understand.....
When you need God and ask for him... when your life has been laid low... when you are an alcholic or drug abuser or some other affliction... and you truly come to God.. he will bring you out... and you will see him do it... and there is not a doubt about what did it... if you lay your self low and humble yourself, you can see him..... it may feel like electricity through your body... and you will cry because of the enormity of it.... and what it meant to you when it happened and you won't doubt it ever again.... or have have a divorce and come to God and seek him and you will find him the same way....... when you bring yourself there, he is there with you.. When you can actually come to him in this age is not very often... maybe you could if you could take your face out of the iGadget you're looking at now.
Get simple.. get humble and make a relationship with your God that you have with your iphone and, our lives would change.

Anything that can fill the void caused by the fact that parents pretty much no longer teach their children, and that school does not teach morality, in my opinion is a good thing, so long as it does not also teach people to kill the infidels. I was in college in 1983 and, I can assure you that things have changed.

I have lived in a major metro since I was a child. I have shopped black fridays since 1979 and a few years ago I stopped out of fear of my own saftey and that of my family. Difference, what is the difference?!?!?

Well, that’s been a depressing few days, hasn’t it? Have you been watching the pictures on TV? Howling mobs of blacks throwing bottles; overturned cars; stores looted and burned; police in riot gear watching passively; black faces contorted with rage; furrowed-brow white liberals excusing, explaining.
It’s all too drearily familiar, isn’t it? Newark and Detroit; Miami; Crown Heights; Los Angeles; Cincinnati; here we go again.
Is there any way out of this wretched cycle? Any hope for an end of it? Any solution? Well, I’ve heard a few suggestions.
Separation. This idea is popular with white identity types. Here, for example, is Matthew Heimbach of White Student Union fame, in conversation with black separatist Brutha Dawah:

"The mid-60's are the nostalgic time for the US..." Only if you are a radical leftist/progressive. Using riots, bombings, and drugged-out "be-ins" never did usher in the false dream of Marx's "workers utopia" that they promised to the idealogs and "useful idots". But just like Marx, the radical leftists/progressives were using all of the unrest to gain power and money. Gosh and golly -- the same people who instigated it all in the 60's are still doing it today (and they are rich and they are in power).
And convincing women (and men) that it is OK to butcher and dismember their children is sadly easily done by playing to their selfishness. Oh and the progressives' push for acceptance of abortion is 100+ years old and thoroughly racist -- check out the progressive eugenists from the early 1900's (like Margaret Sanger) (and the Nazis admitted they got eugenics from us).
