Had my brains scrambled in the fall of 83. Confusing as fuck to wake up in a hospital with extreme tunnel vision and not knowing who is president, how old you are, where you are  or what fucking year it is  !!!

Started watching football that year during my recovery and have watched it every year since. I guess that speaks volumes !!!

When did the Catholics, Mormons, & Fundamentalist take over the Federal Government?

Probably we must look at the last 100 years to see how Religious Conservatives where picked to be spies or government employees.

I'll wait for answers... and specific info... but I don't expect to hear from even one person.

The change we all claim to seek will not happen in a week, month, year or a decade, it is going to take generation[s] to fully take hold.

It has been said that the Native Americans used to base all their decisions upon how that decision would affect the next 7 generations, and that is why they did so well for so long.  Until the pale faces showed up, but that is another story.

Gimme one place where we ask the same question of ourselves in ANYTHING we do today, start from their and lets go forward on that note?!?!?!

Meat Hammer.. Do you have no family members or friends who do the same? It's hard for me to paint such a broad brush when I know good people who fall prey to it. Americans can't pass up a good sale and will kill each other for one if they're desperate or broke. Is it their fault they were made this way?

Things to consider anyway...

That is irrelavant to the discussion.  Was it Jeffery Dahmer's fault, or Gasey, or Manson, I can go on here if you would like.

I know I will be junked to hell by all the 'bleeding' hearts here on the Hedge [no idea where they have come from either], but there is a reason Tigers [sometimes] eat their young, why should we ba any different?

We are truly coming to a point where we will have some incredibly difficult discussions/decisions as a species, because holding on to sentimentality about some of these 'people' will not save us as a species.

And so we see a modern day sampling of where we are headed and what the real hunger games will be like if the globalists are successful in their quest to control all

They'll fail. If you watch enough holy wood propaganda you must have seen many movies that include a message about the el-eat begging to be stopped. Their moral character is exponentially more deviant than these Cretans shown here unleashing the baser instincts of man. So in the end, even if it is not the righteous that stops them, they will destroy themselves

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. - Titus 2:11-12

Just sayin. Looks like the money worshipping class has this world all wrapped up.  Richest 47 Americans--each a prototypical Galt in his own mind, no doubt--own more than the bottom half of the US population and the top 1% worldwide own more than the bottom half of humanity as a whole.

WTF?  Why's He got You doing all the work when He should know perfectly well the "non-believers" don't give a shit what superior knowledge our peers claim to speak from in such a world as this . . .  that He supposedly made?

Not so.

God’s divine plan is eternal. As such, it can be hard for temporal mankind to understand:

God created everything in a perfect, sinless state. God gave free will as well as reason to his human creations- he did not create human robots. Mankind disobeyed God, choosing to believe the father of the lie (Satan) rather than their truthful creator (God). From that moment, sin and imperfection was introduced to mankind, and all that had been created. This resulted in death, disease, mental illness, etc, with God no longer protecting his creation from natural disasters. What Satan did was challenge God- Satan wanted to be God- and God saw that Satan would not be the last that would challenge Him. That is why God did not immediately execute Satan and his demons- he and his ilk (human rulers included) would be allowed to operate long enough to prove once and forever that there is only one true God (the creator), that he alone has the right to rule and be worshipped.

God’s eternal plan includes redemption from sin and imperfection- this is why His Son, Jesus Christ, sacrificed His perfect human body on Calvary- to atone for mankind’s fall from grace (undeserved kindness). Since that time, all that is necessary for each individual human to receive God’s grace, and eternal life, is to put faith in Jesus Christ as their personal savior. God’s plan also includes allowing imperfect mankind and spirit creatures to try to disprove God’s right to rule and be worshipped. Mankind has had thousands of years to try every conceivable form of government (The_Beast), and every form of financial system (Whore; Harlot; Babylon_the_Great), and every form of worship to false gods (Man_of_Lawlessness; Son of Perdition). The verdict is (nearly) in, they have all failed.

God’s Son, Jesus Christ, will soon return to execute justice- all who put faith in him will be saved, all those who do not will be cut off.  There will then be a thousand years of perfection, with Jesus Christ as perfect, loving ruler, after which, Satan and his demons will be released one last time from their abyss- to see which humans will again follow him, (Satan) rather than God. At that point, there will be final judgment- all the wicked, both spirit and human, will be cut off forever, while all those judged righteous will live for eternity.

That is God’s eternal plan, as revealed in His word, the Bible.

That's what you think. But the truth is:

9For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2:9-11

In most cases, appeal to authority is a logical fallacy.

But this sort of reasoning is fallacious only when the person is not a legitimate authority in a particular context, and there are many historical cases that prove that God has foretold future events accurately:

many more indications are of a quite fallible mind.

Also, your explication of why your appeal is not a fallacy is fallacious - you haven't even proved the existence of the entity you call upon for ex post facto justification.

Nostradamus and St. Malachy existed.  Plenty claim they were proven right.

Neither were an omnipotent, omniscient Be-ing.

Actually, it can be summed up easier than the poster below. Some believe in a omnipotent sky wizard that controls all things and others believe in a omnipresent sky wizard that doesn't control everything and grants your wishes...sometimes.

If I were a believer I'm not sure which I would want; a sky wizard that controls everything and has me burning to death in a shoe factory at age 20 or a sky wizard that might, maybe cure my 13 year old daughters leukaemia if he gets around to it after bingo night.

So Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are tools for some entity that wants to start a race war? Who/what is this entity and what is their goal? Cliff Huxtable at age 77 would insert himself into the war and slow down its progress. So the PTB had to dredge up old stories and convince people to come forward or the rape stories were all fabricated? Ben Carson is therefore in grave danger?

I apologize if it appears that I am making light of your theories, but I asked you lay it out for me, but instead gave me a video of Cosby speaking out against ghetto culture. If you got some info/pieces of the puzzle, then share it. I suppose a race war would result in many of us embracing a stronger police state. What else happens?

To call these Black Friday shoppers people is merely a compliment only because they look human and are breathing air...That's about as human as they are because their brains are like robots that have been programmed by the Fascist totalitarian media to get out there and rack up credit card debt with all the other mundane sheep just to line the pockets of the corporate interests that collect the interest payments... It's fucking sad to see the demise of a society happening right before your eyes. If I see another Black Friday commercial or have to listen to another Christmas jingle, I swear i'll fucking rip that TV out of the wall. I'm not saying the holidays aren't a good time to have special time with your family, I'm saying don't be hoodwinked into being a total Corporate owned dipshit. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving in Santa Barbara where I spent it with my family on the beach playing frisbee and just hanging out enjoying each others company. Then we went to my daughters apt on campus in Isle La Vista and cooked rip eye steaks for everyone in the complex that couldn't make it home for Thanksgiving... No fucking turkey or yams, Just some kick ass Ribeyes on the grill and good wine and thankful students... Probably one of my favorite Thanksgivings yet, and no I didn't buy a fucking thing from the Corporate whores...What the fuck is wrong with people? What happened to the real meaning of the holidays? Friends and family and making new friends was much more gratifying to me then eating some traditional stressed out bird and fighting over the last 45" inch plasma tv with some fat assed idiot robot in a fucking store...

2 things happened that started the ruin of the american culture (white america)

1st they rolled out television ( no explanation required)

2nd the roll out of vietnam... with the majority of the younger white males either being sent off to yet another banker war or running from it....the remainder became what I like to call the "cause generation"   all the bullshit started with the boom of the "cause" minded assholes you know the feminist cause the green peace cause the peta cause the anti-war cause everyone had a fucking "cause"   between 1964 and 1980 all these groups the liberal leftist ass wipes became a well oiled machine of destruction against the fabric of white america.  all the jewish orgs are behind these "causes"  all the multiculturism multiracism bullshit came full swing in those years by the late '80s there were more fucking "causes" than you could even begin to count and all of these waring with each other.. unless you grew up thru those years and were truly paying attention and not getting caught in a "cause",  you would have seen the start of the shredding of the "middle class"  you would have seen the heart of what they call "white flight"  anyway forward to the present and this is what you have... the destruction of white america.  Now do you still want to argue with the facts ...keep believing that the jew master plan is good for you keep your immigrants and niggers.   this isn't about shopping it's about the internal destruction of a white founded majority white populated nation.  Like it or not that is what america was founded on ...a free independant white nation of european decent.   As said before "Americans hit peak happiness in the 1950's"   All been down hill ever since ...Thanks Jews and leftist libtard nigger loving self hating "white" americans.

PRODIGIES

The Realm was in chaos,

In Daphne of Rome

A suburb of Antioch

Ominous prodigy

Child with two skulls

Four eyes and one mouth,

Considered a sign

Of disordered governance

Not so long later

At Adrianople

The Emperor Valens

Suffered disaster

The legions defeated

The Emperor killed

And all of his lands

At sixes and sevens

But there would be other

Miscegenations

Meaningful omens

Vile deformations

There will be seen -

Already have been -

Monstrous confinements

That signal disorder

Neonate millions

With numerous heads

But one single mouth

Consuming the world

An eye at the front

An eye at the back

Two on each side

An ear to keep track

This is an infant

New of its kind

One single creature

With only one mind

That will come soon -

Already prepared -

Descent of the species

And no one will care

Except for a few

Who live alongside

In the commons of love

And there they will hide

Supply and demand is off kilter.  If there were enough products priced at 50% off (for people who have 200.00 to their name), this would not be nessary.  They either fight to get to the 20 such items in stock or go without.  If they get it, they got the deal of the year.

If the store had 5000 TV at 50% off, this would not be necessasry.

It had already taken root in the early 1980s, and people were already complaining about it.  The problem is that everything in America is a commodity.  To acquire commodities is the only value.  All other values are for suckers in America.  We've just gone 30+ more years down that road.  There were still a few people in the 10980s who believed in such things as public spirit, non-material goals and values, and that there were things you wouldn't do even to win.  There still are, but a lot fewer.  Everything else in the culture has been hijacked to the interests of acquisition.  And since there truly are winners and losers, and the fewer remaining winners tend to be very good indeed at winning, there are more and more losers and their behavior reflects the same.

Any matters of race, morals, religion, culture, manners, parenthood, politics and all the other shibboleths dutifully trotted out are just purposeful distractions.  This is what happens when greed is all that matters.  Some say it's good.  I don't find it compelling, myself, so I've accepted a place off to one side of it.  I'll never be a big success, but I'll miss out on most of the failure, too.

The murder rate in 1983 was 8.3; in 2012 it was 4.7, and rates for other crimes have also dropped proportionately (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_the_United_States).  1983 was not good times; it was when the boomers were at the age to be their most drugged and violent.  The crimes committed then were horrendous.  I'm Gen-x and when I describe the crime of the 70s/80s to people in their 20s, they just don't get it.

The abortion rate was WAY higher in 1983:  28.45 per 1000 women aged 15-44, versus only 15.9 in 2013 (http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/graphusabrate.html).  It helps that young women get to keep their kids now; when the options were abortion or giving the kid up, women aborted them.  Single motherhood sucks but abortion is worse.

Between the aging of the population and the locking up of people for just about anything (that does reduce crime, if at too high a price) and the reduction in lead exposure, and the acceptance of single mothers, a huge drop in crime and a huge drop in abortion is a gigantic improvement.

A lot of other things are worse now, however.  No real food anymore, no families, religion is dead, no-one knows how to do anything real anymore, and it's all too crowded.  There were jobs in '83 but they were based on debt and we know how that is turning out.

I meant that the government was borrowing money to function:  government debt was what was keeping the system going forward at that point.  Yes, interest rates were very high then if you wanted to borrow to buy a house or a TV (of course you could also earn interest on your savings, imagine that).

Balance the elimination of that with the intake in so many food additives and GMO poison that lead looks good in comparison.

How about all the SSRi shootings since 1988? The rampant police state, the fascistic intolerance and closed-mindedness exhibited by teenagers and university students?

The fake Satanic Cult Children Sacrifice scare of the 80's and 90's?

Literally did not happen - at all. Not ONE incident, ever. Just a bunch of Social Workers justifying their degrees and suggesting things to toddlers.

People obsess about the same things that happened 50 years ago but blow it 100x out of proportion. Hallloween is safe, your kids have the same risk of encountering some sick bastard now as they did then, the world is not more dangerous but it IS scarier because everyone over-reacts.

I've got to agree, I remember late 60s and early 70s, as a grade schooler, and I mean 1st grade, walking about 2 miles to get home from school.    Or when I was in 3rd grade being taught by the older kids the shortcut home which was a mile, crossing the busy 4 laner to get to my neighborhood.

My friends and I used to go out for 6-8 hours, without our parents knowing where the hell we were, what we were doing and just showing up at home at the proscribed time.   There was little league and pee wee football, town organized basketball in the winter...but we got ourselves there.   our parents didn't take us, organize caravans across the entire northeast to play soccer or hockey or baseball, we walked, got rides from other people or rode our bikes 15 miles to get to the various parks throughout the town (large town in CT of about 40k at the time).   Today?   every child is picked up by mommy.  daddy drives them all over the place, for weekends even, to 'tournaments'.

In his book "A Time For Action" written in 1980 William Simon, a former Secretary of the Treasury tells how he was "frightened and angry".  In short he sounded the trumpet about how he saw the country was heading down the wrong path. William Simon (1927 – 2000) was a businessman, and a philanthropist. He became the Secretary of the Treasury on May 8, 1974, during the Nixon administration and was reappointed by President Ford and served until 1977.

Now after that brief run down I return to my point. David Stockman is correctly voicing the same concerns that haunted Simon before Paul Volcker crushed both inflation and reset the economic path for over a decade. The article below gives a few more details on this. Unfortunately we have gone to far this time and turning back does not seem to be an option. Back then it was millions and billions, today it has become trillions.

Little has changed in America since the first Black Friday, September 15, 1893, when an estimated 100,000 greedy settlers lined up on the Kansas - Oklahoma border for the opportunity to claim one of the 42,000 parcels of land in what was formerly the Indian Territory, granted to the Five Civilized Tribes in 1828.  The door busters at Walmart have nothing on those folks.

Society hadn't turned away from the "g0d" of the bible enough yet - in fact, TV evangelists and the "Christian" Ziopath movement, as well as the Jews-pretending-to-be-Christians phenomenon - both groups very eager to kill a bunch of brown people so Jesus can come back and/or Jews can rule over 'the nations'...

If not the biggest part of the problem, they sure aren't helping.

Reality TV has also lowered the bar, quite a bit...

people are also exposed to far more advertising and propaganda, all while public education has declined in quality and few think for themselves - as the Bible-belters even here suggest.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

There is no comparison between the 70's/80's to now.

What was once considered unacceptable behavior by the majority of a society is now a big fat 'meh.'

The problems in today's society is that morals are virtually none existent, lying, cheating and stealing is the norm for a large percentage of the population.

All brought to you by the entrenched communist in our government and government unions, starting with the Department of Education and the Teachers Unions. When a people are taught that they 'deserve' free shit, that they are victims, that they have a 'right' to another persons labors, bad shit is going to happen.

pretty much...but, i'd say 'progressives'....

Also, IMO, can't forget popular culture....MSM, movies, tv, of course infiltrated by communists in the 40s through the 60s.   Now there is no opposition to them.   Ever notice any comedy show, any talk show, they characterize anyone who thinks as a moral person, anyone who disagrees is stupid.   Or, the implied stupidity of christians, people who righteous, walking the path, even in a non-religious way.

Kill TeeVee, now....or, at least know there is nothing 'on' that isn't trying to bend you..

Nixon was damned for a few lies....Clinton spun his into gold....

Once lying was transformed into 'spinning'.. and "Character didn't matter",
it was all but over for the old America.
THAT was the beginning of the end, not the 80s. In the 80s you still couldn't lie and get away with it in such a shameless way.

Clinton is the culprit.

And we still got the Rodham Hag in play!

IIRC, in the 80s, it was more about getting what you wanted. Logistics weren't as good then, and restocking was virtually non-existant. So, if you wanted that new "in toy", like "Tickle-Me-Elmo", or whatever, you got to the stores early. If you waited too long, your choices were limited. Not to mention that the stores were a mess because there was a shortage of temporary, low wage workers. I remember some stores actually having to close because they couldn't find people to work.

Now, it seems like people are just looking for a sale, and retailers are just looking to get people into their store. Both the retailers and the consumers will each be the means of their own ends.

What happened?

As a whole, (there will always be exceptions) The U.S. went from a civil society to a collection of Oxidizers.

The only thing that a vast majority of people create today is flushed down the toilet after they wipe the excess creation from their behinds.

To get really depressed, compare these Walmart water buffalos with the generation before the 70s--the WWII generation.

Can you imagine these pavement apes as Rosie the Riveter, or landing on Iwo Jima?

According to Strauss & Howe, the predominant "experts" on generation theory, the Millennials were supposed to be a carbon-copy of the GI Generation and fix everything. Pffffft.....HaHaHaHahhhh.....

America has lost god, the family and government. In all prior generations buying ‘stuff’ came from commitment to god, family formation and loving country in that order. Children of those generations had self commitment and saved big for the events in life like home, life insurance, a child’s education and retirement.

Then government stuck its ugly head in and said “… we will pay for (by taxing the hell out of you) many of the big events in life. And they drilled this into each new child’s head in school and public media.

Now we have new generations that could care less about life’s future financial commitments. Each new generation says in unison “…the government will pay for that…”   Now personal commitment is concentrate on sloth, gluttony and personal satisfaction…

Substitution of a specific products for self worth began long before the 1980s, though.

Look at cultural ephemera: Early 20th century, The Children's Encyclopedia (http://childrensencyclopedia.blogspot.com) -- filled with patterns to make toys and games out of household scrap.

Look at vintage toys from the 1930s. They're mostly role-playing items, such as generic baby dolls, good quality miniature trucks, pull toys, wind-up toys. For older children crystal radio kits, working electric toy ovens, irons, sewing machines. Creative play required some amount of imagination and improvisation, and a lot of self-directed participation.

From the mid-'50s, early '60s, teevee advertising ramped up marketing for specific toys. Sure, there's a creative play element to Play Dough, Slinky, Silly Putty, Easy Bake Oven, but these are also Toys as Specific Cultural Icons. It's inferred that flour, salt and food coloring are inferior to the stuff in the yellow can.

That era is also notable for the rise of toys with their own identities -- culture changed from having 'a doll' to having a specific doll with a pre-determined personality, ie. Barbie and GI Joe, along with each's accoutrements and compliment of standard friends.

Imaginative play became structured around collections of mass produced items. In other words, conformity.

Look at the cradle-to-grave marketing we have today. God help you if you bring plain crib sheets to the baby shower, as the invitation requires Disney Babies regalia. A doll is not any good unless it has its own cartoon show, and every girl child is a Frozen princess for Halloween.

We've trained ourselves. This has nothing to do with race or (the absence) of religion. Every time each of us selects products which conform to national marketing, we also select a cultural identifier, and distance ourselves from the ability to perceived value in the thing itself.

Ya' gotta ask yourself why these Black Friday shoppers would debase themselves over trinkets. Maybe they're not fighting for the item itself, but, in their minds, for their own identity and self-worth in our culture.
