2014 Is Now The Worst Year For US Macro Data Performance Since 2008
Once again the cyclical patterns in US macro data are re-emerging as extrapolated hopes fade into mean-reverting credit-impulse-hangover-driven realities. Despite all the hopes and dreams of escape velocity, cleanest-dirty-shirt-wearing economic enthusiasts, year-to-date performance of Citi's US Macro Surprise index is at its lowest level since 2008.
The worst performing US Macro data since 2008...
Whether this is absolute weakness or relative weakness (versus yet more over-enthusiastic expectations) is unclear though, the Midterm election results and NFR Black Friday spending data may be a hint.

Bullish!!
indeed, remember what happened after 2008(ish)? We rallied for several years and several hundred percent, for all intents and purposes the market went straight up.
And its not even over yet!
Welcome to Keynesland!
Said in Hillary-esqe fashion:
"The Dollar is dead, what difference does it make!"
MarketWatch says, "Buy, Buy, Buy!"
Yep and the 4th quarter is going to be wonderful. Sooner or later Joe Average is going to notice that the ship of state is taking on a lot of water. I'm figuring Feb. will be the magic month.
Bullishit!!
Sucks to be a hedge fund.
Weather trading doesn't seem so good this year either.
That's with all the flaring.
All time highs...
I wonder when the official "crash it and clean the sheeple's chips off the table, again" is scheduled for?
Depends. Do they have it all yet? I know they don't have mine but I'm sure they are working on a way to get it. I figure they have been running the markets up for no other reason that to suck the "money on the sidelines" in. I assume it will all fall down once they figure they have got their hands on everything they can reasonably expect to obtain.
Can this affect the price of my stawks?
Nope
Thanks. I was worried there for a minute.
Remember Grasshopper, bad economic data is the mothers milk of financial engineering and ZIRP. Those STAWKS are going to love the recession.
But the best year for madonnas areola's.

Crude and currency
Economist Jim Rickards weighs in on the impact of low oil prices on currencies
Imagine being a pig. You are slautered choped up cooked up then stuffed back in to your intestents!
Sweat dreams.
Yeah, but THIS time is DIFFERENT. Stick to the script.
But the market, the market!
I saw this movie once, with Robert Redford and Paul Newman. It was pretty good.
... Good thing bad news is good news for "the Market".
