Those are the people's representatives. They follow the people's interests and wishes to the letter. Obviously the people are more interested in their representatives being well compensated than anything else. It's a morally sound and efficient system. Make sure you vote!

If you read the Spectator article it makes the claim that the full house pictures are not what they are represented to be.

However, in all fairness, the author of the article does not make the claim that the empty house pictures are not what they seem to be.

Good find, Big Jim.

But do you really want an affective Government? I surely do not.

Anytime that Government passes any law you can be assured that they are planning to steal more from you. No. No thank you.

Nicely spotted, BigJim.  It's easy to believe and repost these sorts of pictures, with their cynical (but very funny, and very believable) captions; quite another to fact-check them.

Another poster makes a good point above, about not wanting them to pass ever more laws.  "No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session," according to Mark Twain.  Very true; but better that there's a proper debate about the laws that they do pass, rather than having them pass after "deliberation" by a few sleepy MPs who really just want to go home.

It is a virtual impossibility to pay someone to put your interests above their own. The answer is to delegate the absolute fewest possible responsibilities to anyone but yourself. This was the understanding of the constitution, but of course, that's not what we are living now. Our leaders do not represent us. At best they represent what THEY have decided is in our INTERESTS, which inevitably is ALWAYS coincidentally, in THEIR best interests. It is folly to expect anything different, regardless of what they might tell you.

Ok, you are being Sarcastic... but why not dig down deep and express yourself. You like Liberal Democracy or some watered down, ephemeral American version, some media version of democracy.

Now show me the examples, where in REALITY functioning organizations, for example: companies, military, police, schools use the DEMOCRATIC principle!

Everything in reality that works is authoritarian.

The current regime where hidden forces are ruling and elected politicians are playing their roles, is per definition not authoritarian. It's a Plutocracy. And a democracy never existed. It always was the hidden rulership of money. But without the internet the sheeple had full faith and believe in "free press". They didn't understand that even "free press" was a fata morgana and never existed. Just like the people ruling. It's only to make the people believe they had a choice. They have no choice. Democracy.

How much does a British M.P. get paid, anyway?

In the CONUS, they have M.P.s as well. Usually, they are in the American worldwide policeman-of-the-world 'Armed Forces'; ensuring that others who join up out of a stupid and misguided thought of '9/11' patriotism, stay 'in line': MILITARY POLICE. An assured career path as a cop in Fergeson, MO is a natural career path (either THAT, or a promotion to a guard at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba). If they're REALLY good, they get recruited by either the CIA or the DHS. If they aren't 'quite as good' (pathetic, powertripping, fat, or too stupid for their own good), the TSA is ALWAYS hiring. I guess that groping helpless children and old people is one thing that the American and British M.P.s might actually have in COMMON.

Existing regulations addressing the hazards associated with such ‘toys’ are inadequate. Detailed replicas have resulted in a number of deaths through the years and should never be sold as toys.”

"...potentially dangerous and unneccesary thrills."

OUTLAW DISNEYLAND, IMMEDIATELY!

BEWARE the woman with the snapping pussy. Make sure that the zipper does not catch the tip when putting your pants on. Use lubricant when masturbating. That's a realistic set of photos of Westminster Parliament nowadays. Is it any wonder that so many bad laws get passed or so many "framework" Bills get thru? MPs are parasites who spend their time flipping 2nd homes, planning their next foreign trip at taxpayers expense and filling in expense claims.

It wouldn't be so bad if this poor attendance caused some of the Bills to fail. But it doesn't. They go thru with support from a handful of dedicated followers.

This is one more nail in the coffin called democracy.

Kinda doesn't fit perfect. Repost.

Judge the Politicians & Police by their Status Quo or their Actions & Inactions:

A) Crime is low
B) Police Killing and Hyperventilation is high
C) US Incarceration Rates are among highest in the World
D) US incarceration Rate for Non-Violent Crime is among highest in the World
E) US Is A Military Republic with Constitution, called a Liberal Democracy, Called a Free Market, but Activism & Protests are a problem for Authorities, Police, who Pepper Spray little girls, Hand Cup Women, Arrest old Men & Women, and forbid free and open protesting in most public places... while suggesting nothing as alternative
F) USA deprives Public of National Referendums, while passing sweeping Social Policies with criminal, civil, monetary, and Tax Costs to the "Free" people
G) Few Adults really believe we have Representation in Washington DC through General Elections while Lobbyist and Wealthy have total and Exclusive Access to Presidents & Legislators
H) Prerequisites to a Liberal Democracy are a Middle Class and a "State of Justice", but Industry has been decapitalized, Debt is Exponential in all Sectors, Banks have FULL Charter to Create Money without Limits, and Civil and Criminal Court System is too expensive for Redress of Common Man or Woman against Corporations or the Wealthy OR the Government Itself... Besides all Government Covered up Financial Crimes in 2008 depriving the USA of a "State of Justice"

- We know we have Fixed Politics
- We know we have Fixed Markets
- We know we need Referendums to actually Participate in Government at the Federal Level
- And we know we could have safe activism or protests during daylight hours if allowed silent protests in high traffic areas, and allowed vocal protests in daylight in area outside Capitals, Town-halls, or Financial Markets or Flea Market Areas

Late Add: for down vote, no taxation without representation. Voting for RICO government is not Legitimate government.

You can try to attack the body of the snake (through 'local involvement'), but the HEAD of the SNAKE is the issue which needs to be NIPPED in the BUD ('terminated with extreme prejudice').

I didn't downvote you, by the way. I understand your 'point of view'.

It is correct to state that the debates of the issues aren't a 'voting session' (but should be attended by all who are going to be 'voting' on the issues at hand). On December 23, 1913, the U.S. Congress was mostly GONE when the VOTE for the Federal Reserve Act was taken and recorded. the DEBATES took place on the SAME DAY.

USAPATRIOT wasn't even READ by ANY of Congress (but why read 2,000+ pages of a bill that evicerates the Constitution when it has such a GOOD and PATRIOTIC 'name'?).

DEBATES are IMMATERIAL when the DECISION by the so-called 'LAWMAKERS' who have been SELECTED is a foregone conclusion. Funding by the British Parliment of the continuing war for the control of Oil flow and positive Opium production in Afghanistan is a FOREGONE 'YEA' VOTE in the 'Empire'; so why bother to DEBATE the subject (and be thought of as a 'commie peacenik'?).

Let me guess: 'Committees Of Safety'?

The reasons are that self-interests of small groups have almost totally driven the self-interests of larger groups into political oblivion. Thousands of years of military history, then extended through political processes, has resulted in small, but well-organized groups, becoming too triumphant, while the larger groups have been reduced to acting like incompetent political idiots.

That has become so far gone that many of the people who understand it have personally opted out, as much as possible, from participating in political systems that are already so totally rigged that ONLY the insiders benefit. Therefore, politicians debating their own self-interests are interested, while other issues have fallen off the edge of what appears to be a flat Earth, due to the degree to which the political processes are dominated by the VICIOUS SPIRAL roles of money in politics, which have already become titled to nearly a vertical cliff, rather than a level playing field, or become like a TIGHTENING TORNADO.

Practically speaking, the established systems are so totally rigged that there is no practical point to participate, unless one is promoting the self-interests of the insiders of those established systems. Indeed, in my view, one of the significant reasons WHY things have become so demonstrably hopeless is that the remaining controlled opposition groups mostly argues against self-interest, in principle, rather than argues that those who have have their interests diminished to being negligible need to reassert the importance of their issues.

Generally, when one looks at the funding of the political processes, one will discover that the numbers are something like less than 1% of the money comes from about 99% of the people, while more than 99% of the money comes from less than 1% of the people. That is the most extremely unbalanced in the USA, but the UK follows the same patterns, where the public "money" supply has ALREADY been at least 97% PRIVATIZED, for Centuries, so that the fake "democracy" is already more than 97% a cruel joke in the UK.

Similar patterns are found in all countries that are members of NATO countries. The degree of real democracy has generally become less than 1%, while about 99% of the people end up acting like political idiots, due to having gradually adapted to the social situation that things were so extremely unbalanced for so long that there are no reasonably practical ways to participate in the political processes effectively, EXCEPT FOR THE RELATIVE INSIDERS PROMOTING THEIR OWN SELF-INTERESTS.

Those (probably cherry-picked) photos of attendance of debates on different issues before the British Parliament were symbolic demonstrations of the degree to which the established systems have achieved almost the TOTAL OPPOSITE OF STATESMANSHIP! Due to the ALREADY achieved ways that the roles of money in politics have spun themselves in such extreme and growing vicious spirals, there are no apparent ways to prevent it from continuing to automatically get worse, faster ... After a few decades of mostly working on that political problem, I have found that the more that one learns about the degree to which we are living inside of FAKE DEMOCRACIES, the worse it gets!

I agree, Oldwood, except I believe in more "enlightened self-interest." In my view, the controlled opposition groups have too much become based on spouting the same biggest bullies' bullshit view of the world, whereby the most successful politicians are those who are most able to be professional liars and immaculate hypocrites, because enough of the people have been brainwashed to believe in that kind of bullshit.

Metaphorically, my view is that everyone should learn to become better Wolves. However, in fact too many have become Zombie Sheeple. Most of those who adopt the pretenses that they have been attempting to "wake up" the Sheeple tended to have been Black Sheeple, because they promote the view that the "solutions" are for everyone to become better Sheeple.

The great paradox is that the people who are the predator/parasites have taught the Sheeple that are the productive/prey to bleat their morality. The predatory/parasites also promote the same basic bullshit, such as politicians assert that they are "serving the public interest" when they are actually serving their own interests, which defaults to serving the interests of those that give them money, while then fooling enough of the other voters by tricking them with the kinds of bullshit that enough other voters have not been able to think more critically about.

That situation was summarized by Oscar Ameringer as:

"Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other."

However, over time, what actually happens is that politicians actually DO what the rich that fund their campaigns want to be done, while the politicians only PRETEND to do what they promise the poor will be done. of course, that the rich control the mass media, as well as have dominated the school systems, means that enough of the poor are successfully brainwashed to believe in the bullshit that the politicians tell them, while the systems are so corrupt that most of those who figure that out tend to stop participating at all, rather than effectively organized to change those systems.

Overall, the successful self-interest of the oligarchs tends to become so extremely the opposite of statesmanship, that they degenerate to become parasites that are killing their hosts. However, as long as the bullshit solutions that the controlled opposition groups promote are based on being against self-interest, in principle, then those impossible ideals will continue to cause the opposite to happen in the real world. In my opinion one of the main reasons why things are terminally screwed up is that phenomenon of controlled opposition continuing to operate within the same bullshit that the biggest bullies originally promoted, in order to enable their self-interests to be presented as if in the public interest.

I WISH I could think of some way to prevent the destruction of society due to the ways that the funding of the political processes have become almost inconceivably corrupt and crazy (literally already worse than a ratio of 100 to 1) ... However, AFTER society already gets that sick and insane, there no longer appears to be any possible way to fix those problems. There is no way to negotiate better balanced, or enlightened self-interests, due to the degree to which the best liars are able to fool enough of the idiots enough of the time, in a vicious spiral of the powers of governments serving private interests, in ways which destroy the health of society and the natural world as a whole.

We are watching social systems based on being able to back up legalized lies with legalized violence become irredeemable criminal insanities, due to the degree to which there is a complete breakdown of enlightened self-interest, due to the excessive triumph of short-sighted self-interests. Our political processes primarily manifest stupider and more evil forms of self-interest, in a mad spiral towards self-destruction, due to the degree to which enforced frauds continue to control civilization ...  while assertions regarding the basic FACTS that our society is dominated by those enforced frauds have no way to engage in any practical political competition against those who have already achieved those enforced frauds, and benefit from perpetuating those in each short-term increment.

What you suggest, that democracy is fake because the voters are manipulated, weak and ignorant, completely supports the progressive ideology. They absolutely believe it is not only possible but mandatory to lie to the voters to get the desired electoral, and when possible popular, support for the progressive agenda. All politicians lie but for the progressives, much as it is for Muslims, abrogation is a central plank for agenda advancement. Their lot is one of sacrifice, to surrender morals and character for the common, collective good. There is only one principle for action and that is results, come hell or high water.

Yes, Oldwood, there has been a vicious spiral of thousands of years of "human farming" or slavery systems, which have only become more sophisticated, not ended. The basic human ecology IS relatively small groups who specialize in being dishonest and violent, that control large groups that are thereby kept ignorant and afraid.

After that has been developing for thousands of years, it continues to be social habits and social inertia that enables that to continue, while, of course, the ruling classes continue to be dishonest and violent, in order to keep pumping that around. The basic realities are ignorant citizens, fooled by dishonest politicians, who then appoint corrupt judges. Throughout all NATO countries, that has more or less reached the point where that situation has destroyed the theory of a democratic republic, or constitutional monarchy, operating through the rule of law, to degrees that tend to be more than 99%.

I regard it as plainly obvious that Islamic states are merely another form of organized crime. They are not different, but rather another expression of Neolithic Ciivilization, operating through state religions, which are systems of organized lies operating robberies.  Various dominate state religions, like Islam, are only different traditional ways to control society with lies backed by violence. Indeed, in my view it is NOT possible for human realities to be anything else. However, it is at least theoretically possible that enough people could understand that enough, so that the theory of a democratic republic or constitutional monarcy, operating through the rule of law could become more workable dynamic equilibria between the different systems of organized lies and robberies.

However, IN FACT, the rule of law is already more than 99% destroyed (just look at the degree to which the privatized "money" supply dominates the real world), and thus, there are NO realistic ways to believe that could be fixed, without some series of prodigious political miracles. There is NO way to save the democratic republic, which should operate through the rule of law, nor any way to save the other constitutional monarchies which should also operate through the rule of law! I think that there is nothing wrong with the theory of a democratic republic operating through the rule of law, BUT, NOT AFTER THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN REDUCED TO BEING MORE THAN 99% A MOCKERY OF ITSELF!

Since the vicious spirals of the funding of the political processes have tended more and more to become less that 1% of the population pay for all the political activities, while 99% tend to pay for none of the political activities, while, therefore, 99% of the people are acting as incompetent political idiots, as far as their own self-interests are concerned, and while the mass media and schools are already also dominated by the 1%, or rather a fraction of 1% of the population, that have already effectively privatized the powers of governments, we are terminally screwed, since our society is too sick and insane now to recover from how extremely bad that situation has actually become!

I can not think of a better abstract political theory than a democratic republic operating through the rule of law, HOWEVER, AFTER THAT BECOMES ALREADY MORE THAN 99% CORRUPTED, AND IS OPERATING THROUGH ENFORCED FRAUDS, WHICH BENEFIT A TINY FEW, WHILE SCREWING EVERYONE ELSE, IN WAYS WHICH MAKE IT PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THAT VAST MAJORITY TO DO ANYTHING TO STOP THAT HAPPENING, THEN THE SITUATION IS A RUNAWAY!

THE PROBLEM IS THAT SUCCESSFULLY WORKED DURING THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF THE HISTORY OF NEOLITHIC CIVILIZATION, BECOMING MORE CRIMINALLY INSANE ALL THE TIME, AT AN EXPONENTIALLY ACCELERATING RATE, WHICH IS CLOSE TO PEAKING WITHIN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, IN THE FORM OF PEAK SOCIAL INSANITIES!

'Radical Marijuana' is trying to outthink the 'smartest' on this planet by partaking of their drugs (and such) to attempt to outthink those who have seeded his mind with the very 'I.Q' thing that will be his demise (on the longest timeline).

A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC is an ANATHEMA to those who spew the 'DEMOCRACY' bullshit (like the aforementioned poster).

A DEMOCRACY is two wolves and one sheep arguing over what's for dinner. In a REPUBLIC, the sheep has a gun.

In a TOTALITARIAN MILITARY DICTATORSHIP, the 'general sheople' fall into the trap of using drugs and such to assuage their fears; and try to idealize their thoughts by making excuses for their own inactions. They tend to blame 'SOMEONE ELSE' by rationalizing their excuses for failure to take action (like 'Radical Marijuana', for example). They go ON AND ON, and on and on, and on and on and on and on; blathering about 'rights' which they falsely assumed that the STATE gave them, and try to show that they are 'not that stupid' by proliferating and pontificating (and self-aggrandizing) blogposts which take up bandwidth and serve no USEFUL PURPOSE except to forment the hopelessness of the 'current situation'; and instead offer a 'kinder, gentler' version of THEIR TOTALITARIAN SOCIALISM.

Monty, as I have said many times before, militarism is the supreme ideology. However that has to go through radical paradigm shifts after the development of weapons of mass destruction.

I agree that my bla, bla, blah seems mostly useless, or quixotic, because the established systems are headed towards MAD self-destruction which cannot be prevented. We ARE headed towards the debt insanity numbers provoking death insanities. The real tests will be that those who MIGHT survive that will be the seeds for some new systems to emerge, IF any do.

Realistic politics is NOT about "who should control" or "whose ideas should control" but rather, who does control, which has, through history of warfare, become that those who were the best at being dishonest and backing that up with violence DID control.

I am attempting to be more scientific about the death control systems, which is extremely difficult to do after the development of weapons of mass destruction. Indeed, at present the most probable future continues to be the human species committing collective suicide, rather than successfully adapting to technologies becoming, millions, then billions, then trillions, and soon quadrillions of times more powerful and capable than ever before in human history.

Considering those FACTS is why my comments tend to be longer, in order to set up that context, which most people continue to deliberately ignore. I am interested in the murder systems, and the ideology of the murder systems, because those are central to everything else. Those have become criminally insane, but nevertheless, MUST continue to be the most important issues for the foreseeable future, as they were in the past.

The two bottom photo's are not accurately labelled. Neither was taken during a debate on pay or expenses. The one on the left is clearly a vote - actually from 10 years ago, the Higher Education bill. The other is the first day of parliament after the 2010 General Election. Both images can be found at the following links

Whether the other pictures showing an empty parliament are accurate or not, I have no idea. Neither am I disagreeing with the general gist of the message being portrayed. The turnout for many important debates and votes is absolutely shameful.

The really good news today is that Gordoom Brown - the mad and incompetent Marxist who wrecked the British economy - has announced he will be doing Britain a favour by not standing as an MP at the May/2015 UK General Election.

Thanks to God.

Apparently, he's landed a job with the UN as "special envoy for global education", whatever that means. For him it will mean spreading Marxist indoctrination.

The transition from a no-name garage band in Sausolito to a headlining band at Grazarri's On The Strip was quite a transition, you know. Some of their songs really sucked (but a couple weren't too bad). I first caught them when I heard the song 'Fade To Black' at midnight and bought the E.P. 45 10-inch 'Creeping Death'. KNET (94.7)and KLOS (95.5) were really promoting it on the Saturday Night Party times down in the 'South Bay'. 'The Four Horesemen' (first side, second song) was pretty good, I suppose. Prescient stuff, actually. I found most of their songs to be repetitive and pedantic, actually... very hard to listen to. This was the age of 'punk rock', you know.

'83, was it?

When the JDL got ahold of them, they really seemed to 'get popular', all of a sudden. Their first REAL 'hit song':

Two trillion three hundred billion (and change) was a long and hard road to amass. I would peg the timeline somewhere near the beginning of the assasination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Rumsfeld was only an appointed caretaker (an 'undertaker', as it were). His announcement on 10 September 2001 was simply an annoyance for the true PTB.

Thankfully, the ODIGO warnings the day of 'the event' kept me busy on 11 September, down in Florida.
