US Factory Orders Tumble, Miss By Most Since January

Tyler Durden's picture

But, but, but payrolls data was awesome!! US Factory Orders tumbled 0.7% in October (missing 0.0% expectations) for the 3rd month in a row (for the first time since June 2012). Rather notably, the only other time we had 3 straight months of factory orders declines was in the recession and the 2012 decline was saved by QE3. The data was ugly across the board: Non-durable orders -1.5%, non-defense, ex-air tumbled 1.6%, and inventories-to-shipments levels are at the year's highs. More problematically for GDP enthusiasts, October inventories of manufactured nondurable goods decreased 0.5% to $249.0 billion driven by petroleum and coal products (but wait lower oil prices are unequivocally good right?)

Factory Orders dropped for the 3rd month in a row...

If the government is corrupt enough to claim 5.8% unemplyment when it is at least 23% then they can be expected to change this number so it shows growth in factory orders. However while they can be dishonest with numbers they cannot hide the reality that the middle class is being wiped out.

But it's not the third month in a row, according to the graph.  Nothing "rather notable" here.  Wait for more data.

This report alone may be enough to push the S&P to 2100 today.

Oil below $66. Isn't is something how quickly it plummeted once the $80 line in the sand was decisively breached? Some consolidation/intervention going on since it went below $70, but I don't think it will be long until we see it in the $50 range.

Would've been worse except for a big increase in DEFENSE "war" spending.  As the consumer and businesses continue to pull back, our leaders will drag us ever closer to WAR to save us.

Holy Fuck....help me out here.   Anything with real value (i.e. Commodities such as grains, oil, PMs) just keeps getting hammered lower.   I am a farmer, and grain prices are well below COP.   The only thing that is worth anything is Paper.  How much is a Google Stock really worth?  Seriously.   And FaceBook?  NOthing of value has any value.   How in the Fuck can Stocks go up forever.  You think the stupid Fucks sitting in their phony inflated McMansions have any clue as to real value?

As for farmers....why do any of them (including me) want to go to the field and produce a crop at a guaranteed loss, hoping for some piddly govt subisidy.   I can buy physical  corn cheaper than I can grow it.   The only time grain will ever be worth the COP is when there isn't any more to be had.   I am sick of this whole fucking mess.  Getting up every day working my ass off just to get baboon fucked by a bunch of politicians and Goldman types.   I'm on the verge of going postal.

"The only thing that is worth anything is Paper."

It's what the western Central Banker want you believe.

It's all a game to them. A game of wealth transfer.

The US Federal Reserve and government doesn't need Factories. Their solution is to print money and all is fixed. (sarc)

What the Obama admin believes:

1.) Factories all can go overseas because they pollute.

2.) The Federal Reserve will print all the money you'll ever need so why produce anything.

3.) More people living off the government tit empowers the administration.

4.) The government creates jobs.

More than you would believe!

You know... The kind that imports chinese crap, but's a sticker on it on the bottom that says: MADE IN AMERICA

The sticker mostly is... Sometimes...

But it's how they can call themselves producers and get tax cuts while they only move the boxes and get full liability.
