Where The Jobs Were: Secretaries, Waiters, Retail, Education, Leisure And Temp-Help
Curious just what the "quality" of jobs that comprised the best jobs report in nearly 3 years? Here is the answer: Retail Trade, Education and Health, and Leisure and Hospitality, as well as Administrative Assistants, cumulatively made up more than half of the jobs gains in the month. All minimum-wage or just above paying jobs. Which is why anyone who believes that wages rose at the rate the BLS would like you to believe, may want to wait until the inevitable downward revision.
The breakdown of the top job categories:
- Professional Services excluding temp help: +63K, of which administative assistants +12K, bookkeepers +16.4K
- Retail Trade: +50K
- Leisure and Hospitality: +38K, of which waiters and bartenders +26.5K
- Manufacturing: +28K
- Temp Help: +22.7K

There won't so much be a revision, as much as a "correction" - as in, the numbers of job creation are correct today (but most are seasonal XMAS retail jobs; this bump has occurred since the 80s from Nov-Jan).
But come Mar/Apr/May? That when the correction happens, and then we may see our first negative number (wait, they'll manipulate it. No more negatives in this "fake" economy. EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!!!!111111)
Yea, and the Fed used to reduce reserve requirements around the holidays. Now there are no reserve requirements and no laws and the press runs full tilt.
Once it doesn't fucking matter any more it will never matter again until the monetary system and its crony benefactors are extinct.
They will just blame the "colder than usual" (global warming be damned) weather and instruct us to move along, nothing to see here.
The wages will go up as some lefty cities voted for the minimum wage increases....when they take effect I do not know...but it should put a little blurb in the statistics....the Jobs numbre shows we really do not make anything anymore..add value..we just service now..not a good base for an economy
Yep, minimum wages go up, but the jobs disappear as the owners move the businesses just outside the city limits. This leaves the city with fewer and fewer services, or only the most basic and low quality services due to low quantities of workers. Those that lose jobs because the jobs move get added to the FSA and go on the govt dole, increasing govt power and control. This is all about making more people serfs. Just another example of the New Feudal World Order.
Wait for the next few months on mining and logging...big drops coming with such low oil prices.
Clearly more Free Trade agreements and amnesty for millions of illegal aliens will fix this!
After amnesty, won't the BLS start including the "under the table" jobs in the employment data.

Then there are the fake job ads. They're now easier to spot because I've seen some of the same ones being advertised on job Websites for the past two years.
I've even been on fake interviews. The most notable one took place about 8 months ago. I was interviewed for a job that didn't exist. Do you know how I figured that out? The employer asked me to create an entire ad campaign as a test...for free.

Lots of fake job ads out there to create the delusion of demand. Or mislead competitors. Microsoft and much of the tech sector is notorious for this. And of course, there's fake interviews because firms have already picked the H-1B they're going to hire.

I guess a positively inclined person would have said nearly half the jobs created were the higher paying jobs that people want. My guess that's one of the highest prints of the year in real numbers. Don't get me wrong, I want to see more full time, higher income job creation but even a low paying job is better than a no paying job...oh yea, that's not true. We give free handouts so people to be picky about their employment choices.
I was a secretary then I got promoted to retail and my old job is being done by a temp. Yay America!

Hope this is not a long term trend.... with 10,000 Americans per day going over 65 years of age ... the country needs high paying jobs to help pay for Social Security and Medicare. What am I thinking... just sent all the bills to the Treasury... who converts them to electronic bills and forwards them to the Fed. The Fed can make an accounts receivable entry, print the electronic money, and send it to the Treasury. The money printed and the accounts receivable adjustment balances the books and life is good!
