Young American Adults: Then And Now, In Charts
It was a little over month ago when we presented our visual guide to the Millennial generation. Since then, dissecting America's overindebted, overeducated, underqualified, underemployed, underpaid young adults - if only in charts - has become one of the nation's favorite pastimes. And so, courtesy of the US Census Bureau which too has taken a fascination with the sad plight of the one generation that, at least in theory, should carry the weight of the US economy on its shoulders, is the latest demographic dressing down of Americans aged 18 to 34.
Percent of population aged 18 to 34
Percent of total population age 18 to 34 who are non-Hispanic, White
Percent of population age
18 to 34 who reported their ethnicity and race as something other than
non-Hispanic White.
Percent of total population age 18 to 34 years who are foreign born
Percent of total population age 18 to 34 who speak a language other than English at home
Percent of civilian population age 18 to 34 who are veterans

Percent of population age 18 to 34 living alone
Percent of total population age 18 to 34 who never married
Living With a Parent, Age 18 to 34
Percent of total population age 18 to 34 years with bachelor's degree or higher
Percent of total population age 18 to 34 who are employed
Median earnings for population age 18 to 34 with earnings who worked full-time, year-round (in 2013 inflation-adjusted dollars)
Percent
of total population age 18 to 34 for whom poverty status is determined
with income in the past 12 months below poverty level

As someone in the their mid 20s I think the only advantage I have is time to stack...
Thanks Boomers.
Becareful shaming the 'boomers' they are STRONG here and don't take kindly to truth.
Oh, Happy Days! ... Where's Richie Cunningham?... The Fonz???
sarc off//
In my day we didn't have these 'cash machines' that would give you money when you needed it. There was only one Bank in each State, it was open only 1 hour a year.
That's the way it was and we liked it!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbU4Cb4A4-o
And get off my lawn!!!!!
no disrespect, I just dislike that pinky-purple color.
Guess it was used to make the point, no?
Respetar a tus mayores, para que tus dias se alarguen en la tierra.
24% of this country speak non-English in the home? That will be what fractures us.
Fuck the boomers. They fucked this country but good. I am a boomer and though I tried I could not stop the greedy fucks on either side of me...Bunch of Marxist Pukes.
I just hope these younger folks have the balls to tell us boomers to go fuck ourselves but they seem like bigger Pussy Faggot Marxists then even my generation so fuck them too.
The boomers did not know. They accepted the propaganda without questioning, the opposite of what we doing here, in the internet.
The boomers believed the religion, education, and political lies.
There were some ‘mostly students’ that spoke out in the 60’s, but they were crashed.
Carter went on TV trying to warn us about energy conservation, to the point of installing solar panels in the White House. That too was crashed.
We suffer of a serious case of genetic blinders. Our gullibility to endless growth and material expectation is downright childishly dangerous.
How can you tell how dangerous will get?
Watch when the consumption is over.
"I don't know (how WW-3 will be fought). But I can tell you what they'll use in the fourth. They'll use rocks!" – Albert Einstein
The boomers as a generation are not escaping any of the fallout. The previous generation the "silent generation" are the ones who made out.
Collectivism is alive and well. Cohorts be damned -- everyone I see is an individual.
Aw shit, are you serious?
Do you mind putting an age bracket (as of today/this year) on the "silent generation"?
I would hazard a guess that many of them, given the period in which they lived, are dead and most probably had much harder young lives than anyone else left alive (on average).
Boomers fucked it up.
But you know what, boomers are like babes in the arms of their children in their old age, aren't they? I hope they (individually) raised their children right. Hard times a'comin.
Or, as I like to say to folks who don't get economics; on a farm, most warm bodies have to work the fields and tend to the live stock and few warm bodies grace the porch all day. Boomers have assets which is also known as someone's debts (e.g. millennials, gen x, etc), so there is a problem if this is not balanced.
The hard, cold truth is this; when the youngin's ain't got work, the boomers ain't got assets. Just like on a farm.
What will happen is the boomers are going to show their colors and attempt to asset strip the young, just like the Marxist shitbags they are (not all - but enough).
I respect my elder's but they have to be worth a pinch of coon shit to warrant the respect.
Regards,
Cooter
The Silent Generation was born (roughly) between 1925 and 1945. Lots of them still alive like Paul, Ringo, Keith, Mick, Pete and Roger.
As for criticism fo that generation there was this:
The Most Destructive Generation Everhttp://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-11-13/most-destructive-generation-ever
CrazyCooter
Great post.
I would like to add that the same problem persists, and you can clearly see within many Hedgers, that don’t ‘want to’ understand that soon, there won’t be any more growth (assets), because we live in a finite planet.
So, when I see many young posters talking about tech, and in how hard they’re working, and that tech will solve our thermodynamics and moral decay that shows us that these young generations are even more disconnected from reality than the boomers, with their sense of entitlements.
This selective blindness is the force that drove (still does) the sphere of procreation, education, and our economic illusions.
And soon, of our demise.
"that don’t ‘want to’ understand that soon, there won’t be any more growth (assets), because we live in a finite planet."
Growth is not only related to exploiting natural resources, but also to human knowledge. How finite is knowledge ? Are we really at the ceiling ? Do we know everything that is knowable ?
And how finite is the energy the sun brings to this earth everyday ? Maybe we have to start putting more CO2 in the atmosphere, then more of that energy stays in our ecosystem ?
They are not dead, they are living decades on a dead spouses SS payments after earning $50,000 in their entire lives, or nothing as a housewife.
If you don't like the Boomers, and many of us saw the bullshit and did not play the game, then come gunning for us.
However I am armed. Can show you the ones who are not, tho...
Change "earning" to "collecting". Don't forget the cost of Medicare. 89 year olds getting new hips and hands full of meds.
tl;dr: fuck the pussy faggot marxists.
I am the same as you, fought the system and still don't play the game, unfortunately too many of my peers thought I was wrong and look what is happening.
I rather get out of the way and give the young a chance. However I have three children in the category of 18-34, none have a degree and they are all working and living in their own homes.
What can I say?
I must say to you sir: WELL DONE!
I am also a boomer and I have gone kicking and screaming the entire way into this mess. I could have taken a job at the EPA! and had a great time of my life but OH NO I believed in free enterprise and thought it was just an accepted principal.
Concentration of money/power Globalism brought this whole house down.. You saw what happened to Ross Perot when he was against Nafta and GATT. For the life of me I don't understand how they have actually brainwashed the public to think that "free trade" and "cultural diversity" is just the FUCKING ANSWER. But, each passing year brings more of that same menu and both parties hold on to it with tenacity.
WHAT have the BOOMERS ever done for US?
Gave us birth?
Yes, but besides giving us birth, WHAT have the BOOMERS ever done for US?
Changed our diapers, fed and clothed us, kept us healthy, taught us to read, gave us toys?
Yes, but besides giving us birth, changing our diapers, feeding and clothing us, keeping us healthy, teaching us to read, and giving us toys, WHAT have the BOOMERS ever done for US?
Went to work, and didn't force us to do child labor?
Yes, but besides giving us birth, changing our diapers, feeding and clothing us, keeping us healthy, teaching us to read, giving us toys, and going to work and not forcing us to do child labor, WHAT have the BOOMERS ever done for US?
Managed to keep the psychopaths who run the world from launching an all-out, everybody-dies nuclear war?

and a partridge in a pear tree...
The Partridges were great fun for those of us on the boomer-x gen cusp.
Better than the Brady's at least.
Yeah, but look what you get in return!!
1% on a CD for 24 months! 30% foreign born population because the millenials would rather buy an i-phone than formula. A good chance Social Security will belly up, same reason. A bitch of a time finding ANYONE to do concrete work. A slew of financial advisors all trying to sell you the same mutual funds. And the joy of having paid 5-7% on you home mortgage for most of its amortization.
Oops. You also get someone to help absorb the radon.
Lmao... good job boomers, you raised your kids! Holy fucking shit! Break out the champagne and medals of honor! You know what else boomers did? Allowed the country to be taken to war over false pretenses, along with allowing a draft that forced many to go to war against their will, which led to the deaths of 60,000 US service members, and then you shit on the veterans that did return home from the bullshit war you allowed yourselves to be dragged into. You also allowed a president to take us off the gold standard, leading to massive inflation for an entire nation and a huge loss of purchasing power for future generations. You then elected Dixie Crack Clinton and watched as he pushed through NAFTA which eviscerated what was left of the middle class by shipping millions of jobs overseas... Good job shitheads
But the millenials came out of the basement in droves to vote in the light seeker. He promptly shoved them back in. Stellar work!
The oldest millenial (34) has been able to vote in 4 presidential elections... and what were the choices? Obama/Romney, Obama/McCain, Bush/Kerry, Bush/Gore. Holy shit Einstein, that sure would have made a difference had the millenials voted for the other team! Get a fucking clue... Meanwhile, the oldest baby boomer has been able to vote in 12 presidential elections. Let's take a look at your options there: Lyndon Johnson vs Barry Goldwater... a chance to elect a guy who was a true conservative, small govt advocate and libertarian. Nope, Johnson wins by a fucking blowout, good one boomers. Nixon vs McGovern, a chance to elect a man who was as anti Vietnam war as you can get, pro agriculture at home, and what do you guys do? Put Nixon back in office with 520 electoral votes, well done. Carter/Ford, a chance to keep in the White House one of the few influential people who called out the CIA on the assasination of Kennedy, nope... lets put Carter in. Two chances to put Ross Perot in the Oval Office... yawn... this is getting tiring and depressing reminiscing just how bad boomers fucked this country up... im done.
You really dont have a remote idea what the hell you are talking about now do you? You really think all your issues come from one age group? Are you stupid? Did ya vote for Obama? Did you know he's making changes to mess your life up more than all the others combined? Do you know which "age group" was fooled into voting for him?
"You really dont have a remote idea what the hell you are talking about now do you?"
Great argument. No, I didnt vote for Obama. Nor did I vote for Bush, Kerry, or Gore. I voted for Romney just because it was someone who WASNT Obama. Who knows how that would have played out. Didnt vote in the Obama/McCain election, but Im pretty sure that he might have been worse for the country than Bama. The dude is basically pushing for WW3 at every turn. I was just responding to all the people saying millenials are a bunch of entitled shitheads who voted Obummer in. Are they not generation bashing?
Whoa genius analysis there stud. Now go pay your extra 30% for your bronze plan. After all, we pushed that on you. Maybe you millenial types would have served yourselves better sitting out another 4.
What?? And no mention of Clinton? Perot's true legacy! Yes, he certainly helped you guys out immensely. two words stud... Block Paint.
Ahh shucks, I meant fuckin block paint. Can you find it now?
Thanks buddy. So we had a choice of Nazi health care or WW3 with McCain. Tough choice. I didnt vote for either one of those turds fyi. All this millenial bashing for a group of people who (on the high side) have had 4 cracks at it. Meanwhile, the boomers/silent generation have had a good bakers dozen+ and cant get it right. And look at their choices ffs. At least from the 50s to the 80s there were still options. The last 20 years of American politics has been just voting for one big govt neocon or the other.
RE
I'm one of those...and a proud non-voter. Today is more vidication for me with this news, the CIA shit, etc.
BTW. all of that news should be good for DOW +150 today.
I think these acts you speak of are the work of the Silent Generation and not the Boomers. The Boomers protested the war and ran off to Cananda. The oldest boomers were just getting out of college when we went off gold.
Bonus points for a great Life of Brian reset.
But you know what? It would have been nice if they hadn't borrowed all the money to do those things. I think it's going to suck for them when enough die off to change the dynamics of democracy.
Boomers took charge supposedly in '92 with the election of Clinton but I would argue it was really in '94 with the young GOP reps who swept in. You have had the worst American leadership over the past 20 years except maybe any other in American history besides the empty leadership provider after the Mexican American War to the start of the Civil War.
Well I am a so called 'boomer' and I had my first full time (summer) job when I was 13 years old. Nobody 'gave' me a job, I earned it and when there were no jobs I created my own business.
I took care of my aged parents too, until they died.
Now these little twerps with college degrees can't even feed themselves. What a pathetic bunch of losers.
(waiting for a flame war from air heads who think success is something someone gives you)
It doesn't matter. Everyone born between 1945 and 1965 is just plain evil. You must accept your label and like it. The system thrives on false dichotomies.
Don't try to lay that boogie woogie on the king of rock n roll. I have been pissing on labels since Iwas 5 years old.
Right, the generation that questioned authority so authority opened the flood gates of party knowing that they would eventually discredit themselves and collapse.
No news here, move along.

you're missing the point- you need to be making/raising productive white children
As a race, Asian children are more productive, so maybe you need to be making/raising them instead.
We tend to see the cream of the crop over here. The Phds and their progeny. There are retarded Asians you know. Billions.
yes that why they created pakistan, Indonesia, China and India with billions living in poverty. Sure they have nice smart good people also lots of dumb bad lazy ones. Why do they have to go to western countries to be so smart?
Maybe it's a relative thing...
They bring their ruthless amorality into a culture with a sense of right and wrong, and game the system from top to bottom.
After years in Asia, I assume that every single Asian college student cheated on their entrance exams and is cheating now. They all work together, what you are seeing is the grade for the smartest in a group of 100, not their individual aptitude.
Living in Asia cured me, forever, of the Asian stereotypes of them being inscrutible and so smart. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Exactly. Living here opened my eyes. This is corrupt beyond words. Those that can get out of the education system here do get out. As quickly as possible. The university system is a joke in so many ways.
Me too, buddy, me too.
Would half-Asian count. Might be willing to give that a go - if my wife would let me. Let me check with her...
Never mind.
True. That's why India and Pakistan are better than Switzerland.
"Thanks Boomers"
That is an expected reaction. Who can blame a Millennial for feeling that way? On the other hand, if you have read "Generations", which makes the point that this we-wrecked-it-you-save-it generational cycle has been ongoing for forever, added to the notion of a small, greedy minority throughout history always looking for a way to rule the world, and mix in a bit of reincarnation philosophy... well then I am far behind you in being able to pin the tail on the exact correct part of the donkey. To me the waters are a bit murkier than that.
/late boomer
Yeah, let's just wait for the Gen X and Millenials to fix everything, like they fixed....... we're screwed.
If the cycle stands, we win the coming world war instigated by the boomers, become a ripple of the greatest generation, then fuck it all up by raising the next round of baby boomers.
And let's cut the crap on the Greatest Generation. They were my father and his pals, think Richard Nixon and Archie Bunker and they were no garden of roses, believe me. That whole scam was cooked up by Tom Brokaw long after they were dead or in the home.
Generational stereotypes are defined by the average individuals in the generation, not the best or the worst, and lets be completely honest, the average person is awful. That can be applied to any large group of people.
What makes the so called greatest generation distinct is they were raised in hardship and built more than any other generation alive. "The greatest generation" is hyperbole but they certainly accomplished more than an aging group of people defined by their systematic destruction of individual freedoms and personal responsibility in this nation.
who did all your friends vote for?
The more Silver comments the more I see him as a simpleton. At least he is stacking.
So much hate for the boomers. So much ignorance. Better to blame anyone but yourself for your failures. The world is changing deal with it. You can go back to the time when the boomers had all those opportunites millenials never had like farmer, fruit picker, steel mill worker, foundry worker, car assembler, machinest, janitors with brooms and mops no machines, coal miner. You know, filthy unhealthy jobs whiney millenials do not want or would refuse to do. The best one cannon fodder in Viet Nam while the rich kids ducked out. Where even the most talented had to work hard for decades to get rich unlike today where all one needs to do is write a program or do the Wall Street skim. Quite frankly the boomers gave you complainers, I don't believe all millenials are this stupid or whiney, a fantastic world just as every generation has built upon what the generation before it gave them. Now it is your turn to step up to the plate and you wimp out like pussies. Maybe we should transport you back to the begining of the depression to give you a wake up call. Or a WW1 trench. If you don't like the debt, the wars, NAFTA, the outsourcing of jobs, etc blame those that control things, not a generation. No generation got to vote on going to war or having their employer send jobs overseas. On the whole I think millenials will do just fine except for you lazy whiney kool aid sucking pieces of garbage writers waste their time on to create controversy.
Nothing wrong with being over educated. Those young folk are the future resistance against the NWO. And theys ain't half bad looking none neither.
Educated by.....
Think about it for a minute. You'll figure it out.
Most of the people I graduated college with couldn't tell you how interest rates affect loan repayments, or how to balance a checkbook. Looking to our generation to fight the good fight is almost futile.
Downvote for your avatar. Who do you think is running this shitshow?
"Those young folk are the future resistance against the NWO."
THose young kids have already been programmed to be the drones of the NWO.
Since birth, 'raised' by the TV. There may be little 'hope' in the younger generation[s] in changing this shit. Best we can do from my view point is 'if' some boomers and Gen X [my gen] actually get out and do some real shit and [most importantly] leave a trail of breadcrumbs [information] for those behind us to follow, if they can.
"Teach the children quietly for someday sons and daughters will rise up and FIGHT while we stood still...." ~ Silent Running, Mike & The Mechanics 1985
http://youtu.be/HFaXHcVS33A
so far i've managed to produce a sharp scholarship millennial and a TV-less 9 year old....We DO watch Steve McQueen/Eastwood/Peckinpah movies though (and Spongebob on the Yootoob) He's been fond of saying "this is crap" since he was 4....He's the one I'm most concerned about because he'll be literate, stand up for himself, think independantly and have Vision...and as we all know "in the land of the blind the one eyed man is lame™". Wel have our work cut out for us...
What I'd basically like to know is, does my son, or any child, have the option to opt out of the strict AR "Read/Test" regime... or would the conversation run something like, "if you don't like it, leave"? Is this test-centric, "level-specific", "teaching tool" district wide? Is it state-mandated? I've got him reading classics at home these days. (He's reading Rikki Tikki Tavi by Kipling now). Is it at his "level"? Who knows, but he enjoys it and that's what I'm aiming for. He says he's been told that books he's chosen to read are "too high" for his "level" by Ms. So (last year was Ms. Ta), which seems monstrous to me. Just out of curiosity, have you ever been concerned that the AR strategy might have the effect of taking the pleasure out of reading by turning it into a constantly assessed, carefully proscribed, "obligatory" chore?"Banana, Congrats!
When my grandson was 5, at public school, the teachers were teaching anatomy. To do this they were using rhymes. One was something like this: "These are my thumbkins, and that rhymes with pumpkins, so I can remember my thumbs".
When his teacher asked him why he was not participating, he responded by holding up his thumbs and saying, "These are my thumbs, and this is stupid".
My daughter received a letter soon after that, that the school was recommending he be put on Ritalin.
FFS
I understand that not everyone has the option, but moving my kids now 7 and 15 into high end private schools has been the best move ever. Still some BS, sure, but on a whole I believe they are going to come out less sheep-like and with a better education. It will end up costing me far more then college, but by the time they get to college it's pretty much too late... They are already on a path.
dup
NF, spot on there. Wifey home-schooled the son we have at home. He started college at 16, has taught himself piano, guitar, and well into Korean language (not offered at college) Fluent in Spanish. CLEPped out of a lot.
My daughter is a hair away from home-schooling my grandson. He is well above his 4th grade level in all subjects, but his grades have fallen through the floor this year with Common Core. His teacher says "He will just shut down".
If you saw my post above, you'll understand when I say that she probably doesn't want him to open up, as he'd likely say "this is stupid, and go fuck yourself".
He told me how the teachers will now say "Ok kids, it's time to get out our commom core math books and start our common core math lesson". He explained it as "A creepy, trance-like voice" and while he's never seen the movie, his description sounded like The Stepford Wives.
Leaving a trail of breadcrumbs didn't work out well for our founders... We just laughed and swept them out of the way.
I grew up with earliest memories being of TV shows, easy to figure out when with databases of the 3 networks and the very limited selection then, but I am nothing like these kids.
Dammit for Ringer, Rand and Punk Rock.
Did you know that Silent Running was banned on a lot of stations and the goup came under heavy attack from the MSM.
America Juarez Norte is going to be so damn awesome. Interstate 70 bumper to bumper with tricked out Civics. Chicarones stands on every corner. A tamales dealer from every trunk. Mota galore. Donkey shows nightly.

Now you have me thinking "donkey pension."
And that is f'd up!
The donkey pension fund can invest in the stock market.

Looking over the chart I now know why Sally turned down my marriage proposal. She liked bikers and wanted to continue dancing at the strip club. Oh, the pain of youth and truth!
Things to take from the charts:
a) Degrees are often useless at best. Education system a massive racket.
b) US like many other countries turning into a geriatric oligarchy.
c) Ethnic altering to probably lead to social explosion.
d) Even the most powerful and richest country on earth is failing her young people. Imagine what it is like for the rest of the planet who are either US vassals, or under attack from US-led Empire.
e) The world is reaching a moment of rekoning.
"e) The world is reaching a moment of rekoning. "
It's been reaching that "moment of rekoning. " Since 2008
Hasn't happend yet into 2014.
Probably won't happen for another 25 years. Maybe longer.
Just keep waiting.

Why marry or move out?
http://www.idiottax.net/2014/12/4-reasons-to-live-with-your-parents.html
I liked that The Shape. Thanks.
I've always thought a muligenerational family home would be the ideal.
Why not live at home and have a good job/career/etc? Sure, slack off if you must but that's not the only option.
Why spend all the money replicating what the family already has? Why not take advantage of the wisdom/idiocy/babysitting of the older generations? Put that saved rent into improvements in your life and your family's life rather than just feeding the machine.
Nah, that would be crazy...what was I thinking...
Why? Because the values of the USA come from nations and cultures that state that a person moves out and pays their own way as a way to adulthood.
If you want extended families, move to Italy or Asia.
You are not going to get those who disagree to come online with this concept.
Those of us who are independent adults who fended for ourselves out in the world will look upon those who hide behind momma's skirts as children as long as they don't support themselves and become independent adults.
Nothing will change our minds, you are a child if you do this.
You can, btw, save money AND be independent at the same time, AND not feed the machine.
Fact is you want it cushy and easy, a nice car, a smartphone, and lots of spending money, without the risk.
I have no problem referring to you as a child., even if you are 35, if you live with your parents.
agree 100%.
Not just Italy - say what you mean, Mediterranean.
You can do that, and save money.
And all of us who are adults, and pay our own way, will think you are a child unworthy of responsiibilty or promotion.
So don't tell your boss, manager or the person interviewing you.
Like it, or not, the USA is predominantly valued from England, Germany, and Scandinavia and in those cultures it is considered part of adulthood to move out, provide for, and pay for, ones self alone without support.
Unless you want to be a child forever - I have no problem referring to you as such.
USA is not Italy, or Asia - people don't live at home as adults and get to be thought of as an adult.
If those cultures can do things their way, then the USA can do things its way.

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1CASMAE_enUS615...Very few are truly educated anymore. Few know how to think. Few know logic. People today think truth is just consensus. Situational ethics, moral relativism, milti-culturalism, political correctness...all serve to turn out compliant serfs, not self-directed achievers. The education system in America is a joke.
Hear, hear!
Excellent analysis!
Coherent that was. First time I've felt like I truly understood WTF you were saying. Mebbe that's a reflection on me. Dunno.
Yep. Logic, Reason, pointing out logical fallacies - all of that is just ''opinion'' now.
The Milennial generation has been told that as long as the Fed can print fiat, Logic is not required.
"The education system in America is a joke."
Incorrect. It's working out exactly as planned by the Frankfurt School and their disciples.
Third world here we come!
Actually, maybe a combination of Second and Fourth World might be considered more accurate?
Just left the largest shopping mall around here. New funeral shirt.
It is monday, but it was dead as a doornail.
No Christmas music. Dreary.
Brownest bunch of unhappy deadbeats working there I could never imagine.

Fuck em.
I am laughing at this foolish world.
I believe we may be getting close.
"Funeral shirt".... interesting.
Can you be a bit more specific about the location? Just askin'.....
OBJECTIVE vs SUBJECTIVE
For those millenials who feel "the boomers screwed me":
I read that 75% of people have "objective personalities ", meaning that they feel comfortable doing what the system they happen to be living in requires them to do in order to survive and prosper. The other 25% have "subjective personalities", meaning that they only feel comfortable doing what they believe they need to do. Sort of like, 75% are "outer driven" and 25% are "inner driven".
"Objective" people naturally tend to gravitate toward, and are best at, sales, management, government, etc., because that's where the chances are best for surviving and prospering. 25% naturally tend to gravitate to, and are best at design, art, music, sciences, medicine, etc.
(For example, I read that someone asked Bob Dylan, not too long ago, why he still toured, because touring is tough, and he's getting old, and wouldn't he be happier taking it easier. He answered "the point is not to be happy; the point is to do what you were put here to do". That's subjective personality.)
So, 75% objective and 25% subjective. That's genetic. That is the way humans are made. It doesn't change from generation to generation. So every generation "sells out", since 75% of the people, and almost all those with power (since salesmen, managers, and governors have power), are genetically constructed to do what it takes for them to personally survive and prosper.
Propaganda is not required to create this inside the human machine. The human machine is borne with it.
And since surviving is a right-now problem and prospering is a one-lifespan problem, the sum of all these actions is that human societies tend to get short term results (for the more successful individuals) but not to protect, over the long term, things like civil rights or the common resources.
So EVERY generation that has ever lived has "screwed it up". You can go back to Babylon and read complaints of how the people were screwing up everything good.
Planet Earth is the sum of the common resources. I suppose the sum result, sooner or later, is either the destruction of human life on the planet, or the destruction of most life on the planet, or the destruction of all life on the planet. What I hope is that humans find a scientific way to change themselves, and decide to make that change.
The difference is that there's no coming back from the Boomers' existential folly. The nation of America was replaced before their eyes while they were consuming and smoking pot.
The folly occurred in 1913, and the American people had nothing to do with it. They were bypassed. And, by the way, at least cannabis was legal in 1913. Many of the Founding Fathers actually grew cannabis. Cannabis is canvas. Most of the sails on saiboats, and that was still the Age of Sail, were made from cannabis. Lots of clothing too. Further, cannabis was a tonic very widely prescribed by Physicians before the government, attempting to find employment for the many Elliot-Ness types who had nothing to do after Prohibition was overturned, gave them something (something very safe) to do, by outlawing cannabis. Also helped Dupont and Hearst. Many Physicians actually went to jail because they refused to stop prescribing cannabis. I understand that the VA is right now working to get cannabis legal for veterans suffering various injuries which result in chronic pain. Safer, perhaps, than oxycontin, or alcohol.
I am a white man in a formerly white man's country. I am now trumpted by the greivance industry, parasites and brown army insvasion. I don't know who did this to our shining city on a hill but I do know Mr. Obama takes pride in setting it on fire. It's been 6 years. Could someone pinch me and wake me up. This isn't happening..........
With your white man's entitlement complex ...the trajectory of your mental health is clear... anger then depression as the anger turns inward...passs the Prozac.
North America, Australia, South Africa, Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.
All examples of that white man's entitlment complex - others would refer to it as massive amounts of hard work to create something out of a wildnerness.
Your nonsense does not work in a world where we have concrete examples such as Zimbabwe - successful food exporter when white men in charge, total anarchy and starvation when white men not in charge.
If that makes you uncomfortable, time to examine your own biases.
Does not mean white men are saints - but they built up nations that are now crumbling after they left.
One example would be chance, two coincidence, but 4 or more? That's proof.
It's not only nations. Detroit was justly referred to as the Paris of the West when it was run by Whites.
Fact check:
Some countries that white folks colonized or ruled through puppet governments, then were expelled by the locals and eventually prospered on their own:
India, Iran, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, most of Africa.
Oh yes... all of Latin America previously administered as banna republics.
The white man's burden keeps getting lighter even as the costs of imperialism soars.
Keep eating your flouride dude . . . . it really explains your post.
P.S. That AND your handle . . . .
I've been living around what you have described for the past 40 years in Texas. You will get used to it eventually.
"I don't know who did this to our shining city on a hill..."
Prof. Kevin McDonald of USC can help http://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2013/03/lawrence-auster-on-the-role...
With a second marriage I had a child in grad school and one in kindergarten and two in between. The youngest learned a lot from his older siblings but did not suffer fools lightly. Public school being full of fools homeschooling and small church based schools provided his education. Today he is a handsome, well mannered 23 year old pursuing his business degree at the same school where his sister is a professor. No matter how bad things are someone has to make sure things get done, just make sure you are in that group.
so nice to hear from our over educated younger americans.
#1. boomers= any white person over 50 who worked to support his family.
#2. racist=any white person.
#3. victims of racism=any non-white person.
#4. conservative americans, see #2..
#5. over edudated younger americans=all americans between the ages of 18-26.
over educated my ass, well indoctrinated maybe.
i didn't vote for o'bama twice, didn't rally to futher the advance of millions of illegals entry into america, to take jobs, enroll to recieve americas entitlements, and put a further tax burden on those who are working.
to me the over educated younger americans are no different than other pc groups, small in #'s, loud, and very politicaly usable.
their size, 20% didn't graduate hs., 40% didn't attend college, and from what i gathered, anywhere from 54%-67% didn't graduate college.
i agree their getting all younger americans are getting a bad start to their adulthood, and working career, yes many boomers were fraudulently duped by public-sector unions, politicians, and the federal reserve system.
we've been warning americans, for 10 yrs., some people 3-4 times that long, with proof what politicians did to unwiting boomers, and what their going to do to you.
True about the Boomers but remember the Program of Destruction was implemented on their watch while they just consumed. Their kids are now suffering the consequences.

We have reached peak white people.
Melting Pot becomes the Smoking Pot
And eventually Pol Pot.
And I thought generations were defined by which Cola they preferred...
The bitch about these stats is that the desirable 18 - 34 demographic is full of losers who arent going to be able to succumb to marketing pressure because all their cash is tied up in cell phone plans and tuition payments for their Marxist indoctrinations...
I love that joke where Leonardo DaVinci says 'You have all of the world's knowledge at your fingertips, and all you do is watch videos of cats and argue with strangers ?"
And you millenials call boomers assholes?
ha ha ha ha
Speaking of the youtz, the:dean of Columbia Law School is excusing students from taking exams if they have been traumatized by the Ferguson and Garner deaths and protests. Raising a generation of lawyers who will be even more weasily and lazy. "Woe to you lawyers." Jesus Christ. There is a national job shortage of sales reps because employers cannot get enough sales recruits who can both dress properly and speak proper English. No Thanks to the Democrat owned Public Fool System.
Now these charts should be emblazoned on the walls of every high school. Let the young non-Jewish Whites, especially the straight males, realize how royally they've been f*cked over by the Boomers. Also hang a chart which details all the ways that this demographic will be systematically discriminated against throughout their future lives in the country their ancestors built.
Remember who pulls our strings, they love division.
18-34 = useless... fukem
