Ron Paul: "All I Want For Christmas Is A (Real) Government Shutdown"
Submitted by Ron Paul via The Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity,
The political class breathed a sigh of relief Saturday when the US Senate averted a government shutdown by passing the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill. This year’s omnibus resembles omnibuses of Christmas past in that it was drafted in secret, was full of special interest deals and disguised spending increases, and was voted on before most members could read it.
The debate over the omnibus may have made for entertaining political theater, but the outcome was never in doubt. Most House and Senate members are so terrified of another government shutdown that they would rather vote for a 1,774-page bill they have not read than risk even a one or two-day government shutdown.
Those who voted for the omnibus to avoid a shutdown fail to grasp that the consequences of blindly expanding government are far worse than the consequences of a temporary government shutdown. A short or even long-term government shutdown is a small price to pay to avoid an economic calamity caused by Congress’ failure to reduce spending and debt.
The political class’ shutdown phobia is particularly puzzling because a shutdown only closes 20 percent of the federal government. As the American people learned during the government shutdown of 2013, the country can survive with 20 percent less government.
Instead of panicking over a limited shutdown, a true pro-liberty Congress would be eagerly drawing up plans to permanently close most of the federal government, starting with the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve’s inflationary policies not only degrade the average American’s standard of living, they also allow Congress to run up huge deficits. Congress should take the first step toward restoring a sound monetary policy by passing the Audit the Fed bill, so the American people can finally learn the truth about the Fed’s operations.
Second on the chopping block should be the Internal Revenue Service. The federal government is perfectly capable of performing its constitutional functions without imposing a tyrannical income tax system on the American people.
America’s militaristic foreign policy should certainly be high on the shutdown list. The troops should be brought home, all foreign aid should be ended, and America should pursue a policy of peace and free trade with all nations. Ending the foreign policy of hyper-interventionism that causes so many to resent and even hate America will increase our national security.
All programs that spy on or otherwise interfere with the private lives of American citizens should be shutdown. This means no more TSA, NSA, or CIA, as well as an end to all federal programs that promote police militarization. The unconstitutional war on drugs should also end, along with the war on raw milk.
All forms of welfare should be shut down, starting with those welfare programs that benefit the wealthy and the politically well connected. Corporate welfare, including welfare for the military-industrial complex that masquerades as “defense spending,” should be first on the chopping block. Welfare for those with lower incomes could be more slowly phased out to protect those who have become dependent on those programs.
The Department of Education should be permanently padlocked. This would free American schoolchildren from the dumbed-down education imposed by Common Core and No Child Left Behind. Of course, Obamacare, and similar programs, must be shut down so we can finally have free-market health care.
Congress could not have picked a worse Christmas gift for the American people than the 1,774-page omnibus spending bill. Unfortunately, we cannot return this gift. But hopefully someday Congress will give us the gift of peace, prosperity, and liberty by shutting down the welfare-warfare state.

"Those who voted for the omnibus to avoid a shutdown fail to grasp that the consequences of blindly expanding government are far worse than the consequences of a temporary government shutdown."
Feigned ignorance is bliss Ron Paul. These people Congress critters are not as stupid as they would like us to believe.
after all the liposuction and implants and tucks and tanning booths and hair removal, they still worry that maybe they are not as pretty as they once were
so they get a wig
and a new pair of shoes
and a handbag
yes of course darlings. you've still got it. don't change a thing.
So my neo-con buds say the bill had to be passed to stop Vlad from taking over Europe and ISIS from taking over the ME, while my Progressive pals said that amnesty, voting rights, school lunches, ObamaCare and whatever other nutjob ideas they want to piss money away on need to continue so the other shit was necessary.....
And I pointed out that they on the opposing sides here who really don't even tolerate one another very well, should start coupling in public to celebrate their steady as shit goes policy of funding everything under the sun that nobody needs anyhow and they should be happy that they have somebody to argue with about getting to the very same place in any case.
And they all hate me because I tell them they're clones who should get married.
Assholes.
We are not surrounded by sheep, but by assholes.

It is nice that you can make friends with those who have opposing ideologies.
if you happen to be in the political middle ground, nobody is too far from you
it's the extreme positions that skew the "political optics" of those who hold them, and makes them believe everybody else is for or against them
ideologies are handy models. simplifications. Demand for Fraternity is real. Demand for Liberty is real. Demand for Equality is real. All three are human demands
the conservative demands a (often National/religious) Fraternity*, the (classical) liberal demands Freedom**, the classical socialist demands Equality***
in reality, we all demand some quantity of all three, and only extremists follow their ideological banners to absurdity
---------
(*) It can be familial, tribal, religious, cultural, meta-cultural or even that of an alliance. Only the total individualist is utterly free of all this. Meanwhile, some have their family as their only Fatherland. And others have only their own ego, or even only their own wallets
(**) Freedom has many facets, and so liberalism has many faces, from neo-liberal to libertarian to anarchic to a mixture of all those. Freedom to trade? For individuals or corporations? Which to have the upper hand, the big or the small? Freedom to travel? For the rich or for the poor, too? The freedom of having a party at home might take my neighbour's freedom to enjoy a quite evening. Freedom is the hardest of the three to define properly, and it's often the battleground of the other two
(***) You too, often demand some Equality. For example equality in front of the law, in most cases. Even if you deem some as inferior, you still want the same rights as your peers
there cannot be free market healthcare.
today healthcare is largely funded by government.
without government (read: welfare and subsidies) majority of americans would have zero healthcare.
you simply cannot scale services....only way is through self governance of not doing stupid things (drinking, smoking, excessive risk taking, eating too much junk, etc.), acceptance of eventual death, and technological self-help tools.
But with vast majority of citizens ignorant, free market healthcare means rich will get healthcare in some other country and majority will be paying little for shitty quackery.
and oh don't forget that improvements in healthcare came from lessons from the battlefield which itself is subsidized endeavor.
Well the Fed does follow blindly where no man will go, so this is right in step with their normal. Consequences bitches!*8
You seem to be confusing Healthcare with Health insurance.
Without government intervention it is arguable how many would have health insurance, or if it would even exist at all.
On the other hand, the vast majority would have all the healthcare they need.
I am sorry but you are very far off base here.
In a free market, your insurance company would be the company that sorts out the quackery by giving you a list of approved doctors/treatments. This is in their interest because they want you to get the most effective/ least costly treatment. (If you remain healthy, your premiums are their profit). Therefore if you see a doctor who isn't covered by anyones plans then it is a good indication he is a quack.
In a free market there are no copy rights and patents, no taxes, and no extra bs paperwork. The result of the government leaving the market alone would be medical services that are faster, more efficient and MUCH less expensive.
Think of the multiplier effect of taxation. An MRI machine for instance. Lets say it costs 1,000,000 and one use costs 2,000 dollars to the individual.
The MRI machine was taxed 7%. When the company who built it purcahsed the steel and copper and plastic for the MRI they were taxed 7%. They also had to match their employees SSI and medicare contibutions of about 15%. They also had to pay the property tax on their factory, and the taxes embedded in their electricity usage. OH! and then they have to give away 33% of what they profit.
The steel company and plastics company they purchased it from have similar expenses...
SO, in the absence of a government, and MRI goes from about a million, to about 400,000 very quickly. And with it, usage of the machine drops to say 800$, and guess what? Now your insurance is much more affordable because all the medical procedures and equipment cost less.
"In a free market there are no copy rights and patents, no taxes, and no extra bs paperwork"
you forgot to insert "idealized" or "theoretical" in front of "free market". I sympathize with your outlook, but sometimes I'd like you guys with that yellow/black banner to have a look at reality
So to make the dream a reality then we need to do two things. First crash and burn the system in place. Since those in power are doing this for us we need to do nothing, but wait. The second thing is to make examples of those in power when it does crash and burn. That task will be much harder as the powers that be see the crash and burn coming and are willing to sacrifice the population in order to maintain power. Can you say D.U.M.B.'s, fema camps , billions of rounds of ammo etc etc etc.I suspect that other nations will want to get their hands on these people and suggest that no self respecting American help or hinder them . hehehe.
fact is nearly the whole planet uses single-payer, state health care systems. they are relatively cheap and generally do provide "universal health care"
fact is that before ObamaCare, corporations were allowed to insert themselves in the private matters of their employees by offering health care packages, which were then subject to cozy tax deals and rebates (for corporations). A situation for which you don't find many parallels outside the US. Question: is that compatible with individual freedom? I wonder, and I'm not alone
fact is that after ObamaCare, you have to be practically an US Healthcare expert to even understand the thing. Superficially, it combines all the negative sides of all systems, with very few positive sides. Are corporations out of the private matters of their employees, now? Hardly. Do all get some healthcare? Not sure, yet, but some more do. Has the whole thing become even more expensive? yes
and this is only a very superficial view from a foreigner from a foreign land, scratching his head and asking WTF? Seriously?
and no, writing "if government was not involved, then" is, at this stage, like musing how the world would look like if all days were Christmas Day. Interesting, but with no connection with reailty
"fact is nearly the whole planet uses single-payer, state health care systems. they are relatively cheap and generally do provide "universal health care"
Fact is nearly the whole planet uses criminal tyranny for government too. Fuck that statist shit man. I want government to sit down, shut the fuck up and get out of my fucking face. And wallet.

A few questions come to mind. I admit to asking these because of a general ignorance of how healthcare works in Europe.
-Are medical care providers (doctors, hospitals, etc.) burdened with the same reporting and record-keeping regulations that those in the US now are? The new, enhanced reporting requirements have raised the non-medical costs to many providers.
-Are fees paid to the medical care providers preset by the government? Fees for Medicare patients are, thereby driving some providers away from servicing potential patients. Sometimes the fees paid do not cover the cost of providing care.
-Are medical care providers required to insure themselves against malpractice? Is Europe as lawsuit-prone as the US?
-How much of a working class person's income is taken in the form of taxes to provide this 'free' healthcare? Are there co-payments, deductibles, or any of the other silly things the US is beset with?
-How much cheaper is European healthcare now than if it had to pay the same prices for pharmaceuticals as those found in the US?
-Does everyone participate in the same system, or can the elites/rich still get better, private care within the Eurozone?
-What is the overall percentage of non-paying participants in the European healthcare system? In the US there are many who get free healthcare, thereby pushing the burden onto those with insurance or paying directly. This is particularly burdensome as more and more illegal invaders flow across the southern border.
A comment or two:
Corporations were enticed into providing healthcare insurance (or so I've heard) because of the wage controls imposed by the US government during WW II. It was a way to increase overall compensation without violating the law.
A British friend has told me that the British healthcare system is in crisis. It apparently is a matter of funding. Making anything 'free' increases the demand for it, and "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch." Personally, I can't think of any (US) government programs that work efficiently and to the benefit of the people (citizens), so I'm reluctant to jump on the universal healthcare bandwagon.
You're correct in saying that US healthcare combines the negative sides of all systems. That may be due to its hybrid nature. If you can either answer my questions or direct me to an online source of the answers I will be grateful.
A Corporation is a government created legal entity. It is no where close to a free market company.
Heres something alot of people don't get.
If I have an economy that is productive, and I tax 50% of all the productivity and spend it all on healthcare, OF COURSE I WILL HAVE BETTER HEALTHCARE THAN A FREE MARKET. But, there will be even greater loss of productivity in the remainder of the economy.
I can spend all my tax revenue on a space exploration program, and guess what? It will be the best damn space program ever, way better than a free market could have produced, but that is of little solace to the people who get their productivity siphoned to pay for it.
Saying being against government has no connection to reality, is like saying being against murder has no connection to reality because their are murderers.

I've become jaded over the prospect of ""reform"" which never fixes anything. The entire Government needs to be removed and replaced. Frankly, we need a Constution Convention of the States that does so and yes, divine intervention.
Otherwise, all outcomes are bad to awful.
Sad to say but it will burn to the ground before it will ever be reformed.

It's not just duplicity or two-facedness - he's stupid.
And frankly I'm not sure that in our senate or house of representatives there are more than a handful not stupid people.
That scares me more than they being all criminals.

Even if there comes to pass snowball fights in hell, and "Ron Paul 2016" is successful in putting him in the Oval Office, it will quickly become Dallas 2017.

Fuck Ron Paul.
He decries spying on American citizens (but only on Americans), so he thinks that unlimited spying on everybody else is just fine and dandy? Tap the phones of Canucks, put spywear on the Germans computers etc etc.
Then everybody else think Fuck You America and we will return the favour and spy on Americans. Or do as the Germans recently did and insist that Apple products be compatable with unbreakable passwords to stop the Americans spying on the Germans.
Either everybody is entitled to the right to privacy or nobody is
I like Ron Paul, a true Statesman and real person.
Problem being, real people get ground up to feed the pigs in this situation.
There is no government shutdown or political solution to the New Rome, only a lot of dead people and storming the "Bastille" and lopping off the heads of the complicit.
Agreed. Doesn't matter any more. We're going to whip this borrowed mule until it drops. No turning back now. Doesn't matter who says what. The debt is driving us, not the other way around.
Sadly the tipping point has long since passed us by. The only way forward is down.

So ur sayin they are both thinking with his cock now.
The truth about Paul is revealed in what he has constantly opposed. Just about everything in government.
This is the mirror image of an Omnibus Bill.
Instead of taking a piece of the bill, like, say, permitting Jamie Dimon to continue with Derivatives Trading with deposits from the human beans, instead of prohibiting this kind of risk taking with OPM, it is loaded into the bill and passed.
Paul wants to correct or purports to, the entire government instead of taking on one or two very serious problems and working to get them solved.
He knows he can't fix even one thing wrong with government so he has made a career and some fame as a maverick for simply pointing out what is wrong.
Last I looked it wasn't near enough to simply recognize a problem and prosyletize about for 30 years and accomplish nothing but shining a light on the rats. You have to exterminate them.
And has not slain even one.
Ron Paul as President? Someone who was a military officer, practicing doctor, Congressman who couldn't be intimidated by anyone including the Federal Reserve? It was fun watching our owners panic at the mere thought.
All the rest of the world wants for Christmas is for the Zionists and their DC US dog to stop killing people the world over, for just a day. A day without murder from the sky, torture in the basements, Hellfire on schools, bombs on villages, and burning phosphorus in cities.
Just a day of being able to breathe and think without the specter of death hanging all about.
I wish the world a Merry Christmas, but I cannot deliver it. Yet.
An American, not US subject.
The governments of the world have perfected the ability to kill every individual on the planet dozens of times over. But they've never even considered the possibility of feeding everybody a decent meal just once. That should tell you all you need to know about the relative advantages and disadvantages of government.
"The governments of the world have perfected the ability to kill every individual on the planet dozens of times over. But they've never even considered the possibility of feeding everybody a decent meal just once."
Government can't feed people, since government's primary objective is to steal and kill, and can only be funded by theft and death.
The truth is that government is nothing more than a syndicate of theft and violence. As such they only have two mandates: steal and kill, and ward off the truth of their nature from permeating their victims' thoughts.
An American, not US subject.
If you feed people, they feel entitled and keep asking for more. If you kill them, they don't.
And for those who say war never settled anything, tell that to Carthage.
kchrisc,
Yea, fuck those Zionist pigs who killed 100+ in Afghanistan.
And fuck the USA for causing Islamic terrorism. After all, when Mohammed created Islam in the 7th century, his only goal was to raise little duckies, kitties, and lambies and travel the world giving people these cute little animals, to try to help stop the incessant, brutal violence. Instead, the USA Department of Unimmunized Duckies, Kitties, and Lambies intervened, and prevented Mohammed from distributing his cute little animals unless Mohammed purchased very, very expensive immunizations for his cute little animals. Of course, Mohammed became incensed, and went on a centuries-long jihad killing millions and oppressing even more --- and justifiably so, since what the USA did was unforgivable. If the USA had left Mohammed alone, today we would all have cute duckies, kitties, and lambies in our peaceful homes.
So, our choices are either the muzzies or the kikes that we have to answer to? How about a choice C moron.
Does Mommy know sbout your vile side? If she did, maybe she'd force you to keep wearing your urine-soaked jammies.
There is no more "government" anymore, it's just banks and bank employees now. All (s)elected government "employees" are in fact bank employees now.
Government and exploitation are not mutually exclusive concepts. On the contrary, they are one in the same thing.
You forgot the other part of the trifecta: Media.
Their lies, obfuscations, and misdirection to inane problems like "gay marriage", and a spoiled brat from the Throne in england, is proof of their complicity in furthering the agenda of the establishment.
Banksters (and all TPTB) need government. They don't have the power of coercion. Government does.
The US' 'Finest 535' just put the US Taxpayers on the hook for $303,000,000,000,000.
The timing of this is not by accident.
A faux epic battle to close a deal with a budget number two orders of magnitude lower is trite at best.
They fckin own that POS D.C. The tough talking citizens of the USSA is just life support for the banking elite. Mesmerized with our new phones, TVs, shoving food and booze down like there is no tomorrow. I bet 95% of the country has no idea about the derivative exposure they'll be covering for generations to come.
The Uni-Party running Congress and the White House will never shut down the government again. They will just load their campaign chests and pork barrels until they have enough votes. The great 'centrist' troika of liberal Republicans, moderate Democrats, and Wall Street stooges will be running the show at least until there is a 'leader' in the White House.
The White House is just a prop, as are any of its occupants with an exaggerated sense of self-importance. No one occupying the jump seat of Air Force One has the audacity to do anything more than what the Jews of Wall Street and the ones in the cabinet tell them to do, who are in turn, told what to do by those who bought them.
"But hopefully someday Congress will give us the gift of peace, prosperity, and liberty by shutting down the welfare-warfare state."
Shutting down the welfare state isn't going come from Congress, but it will come-sooner or later.
Kind of hard for that to happen when CONGRESS just give a blank checkbook to the rat faced a$$holes!!!
Nice Christmas Wish!
How's that lump of coal you got instead?
It all sounds so good. Too bad the messenger is just another controlled opposition mouthpiece for the globalists
And now the down votes start rolling in from the mimes trapped inside the walls of their invisible cubes. Incapable of critical thought outside of their meme. And believing that some highly recognizable figure will spearhead the awakening of the masses or a be rally point for resistance or offer them salvation from their slavery

There's only 1 that can do that. It isn't Ron Paul and you don't have to look far you only need to be able to see
No more buttered scones for me, mater. I'm off to play the grand piano.
Thinking of making some Ron Paul 2020 bumperstickers.

"Deficits don't matter" - Dick Cheney
Correct. Nobody got it at the time, as to why and when that is true. It is true when...
You have the Global Reserve Currency (GRC), and can export your inflation to other countries (currencies) that must use your fiat GRC for international trade, and especially for oil and gold transactions. Those who resist are dealt with swiftly, like in any mob enforcement event. So much for "national sovereignty". Pfff!
Only a diabolically clever banking genius could have come up with that one, and is why none other than Henry Kissinger convinced Nixon of this in 1969-70.
Just think, who is the most reviled politician in DC today? Why it's Senator Cruz. That my fellow Americans is the best illustration of the one party system that actually exists in the land of brave and home of the free. A Bellamy Salute to all!
Thanks. Ron Paul is far less electable that either Cruz or Lee.
The charges against Cruz and Lee that their insistence on a vote for or against Obama's amnesty caused dozens of stalled nominations to be approved is complete fucking bullshit. You're right: The fact that Republican Senators would make this claim proves we have a one-party gov't.
The healthcare part is the biggest thing that sticks out, believe me as a Canadian, government paying for healthcare is the worst thing for the country. People here take their kids to the ER just so they don't have to wait at the doctor's office. Are you kidding me. We pay through the nose for it, and are just as badly in debt as the U.S. We have 41% of our people paying tax in this country, and 22% of those work and 'pay tax' for the government. So looking at it like that, 1.1 trillion in debt seems more than your 18 trillion. Simply because we only have 36 million people compared to 320 something.
Or basically, the BRICS bank is the start of sound money, and north america is just fucked. Unless somehow our governments suddenly decide to become fiscally responsible. Which is the funniest thing I've ever said.
Your analysis is shoddy and incomplete. Because...
Canada had the same KIND of system for many years, but its level of service was exemplary in the Western world. Or anywhere else.
The real question is "What Has Changed? (since the 90s)" If you answer that skill-testing question, you got your answer and can figure out the solution.
I have a pretty damn good idea, but won't bother to spoon-feed anyone from making their own effort, without which a debate here is pointless.
I disagree with the Gov healthcare in Canada, if it is privtized the cost will go throught the roof. Although there is some abuse, it is truly an affordable medical system unlike our neibours to the south. They pay 5-12 times what we pay.
Be patient. The U.S. healthcarless system is fast moving to a 3rd world system based on Tort Law, not medicine.
ALL physicians are migrating to being Data Entry operators, wherein they spend more then 70% of the visit time inputting your symptoms, meds, and previously missed conditions, and 30% actually examining you to diagnose, to cover their asses to protect themselves from lawsuits.
The cattle call that is a visit to the Doctor on clinic day is something to behold and don't bother to plan on doing much else because your time is worthless.
And don't forget trying to trick you into providing your work place location and phone number....in case they have to garnish your wages. And don't ever give them your SSN. They ask for it but you don't have to give it. All insurance companies use member IDs not related to SSN. The change happened about 18-20 years ago.
They're finally learning to compromise -"I'll vote for your sucky idea if you vote for mine".
And who said congress was broken?
"Finally"?????
This has been the M.O. of government since the back room, the bathroom, the other dens of iniquity were unearthed as the true seat of government, albeit hidden in the depths of buildings, and the black hearts of the worst of us. That thing you see on CSPAN is just for show, mindbogglingly numb boring show.
That's why this question a seeming conundrum, can be answered:
"Why is it that CONgress has a 17% approval rating BUTT, the voters in the booth continue to return THEIR CONgresspeeps to office 80% of the time?"
I am all for shutting down government and taking a stand. However, there has to be a clear goal to doing it, not just because things are "bad" or government is too big, too expensive or even too intrusive. It has to be for something specific.
If they shut down the government it will be to accomplish, what???
The condition to reopen it will be what???
The reason Republicans and conservatives will fail 100% of the time to whittle government down is because they will not ask it to stop doing anything. Outside of Libertarians like Ron and Rand Paul no one talks about shutting down any government agency or reducing their programs and responsibilities. Until you do that it will not shrink or not for long. If you ask government to do Medicare, then it will require funds, staffing, etc. Until you stop or until you say that Medicare will no longer fund office visits, it will not shrink.
If they shut down the government they will lose support. If they shut down with a clear realistically accomplishable goal they will probably win.
As I often say, "we" (collectively) have to stop asking the government to do shit for us, there is no other way. If we really want to know where the problem lies, all we have to do is look in the mirror.
We wanted security without the bother of carrying a weapon to defend ourselves, so they surrounded us with SWAT teams and cameras.
We wanted the poor to be fed without the bother of feeding them ourselves, so they fed them to the point they now demand scooters for the poor obese to move around.
We wanted our children educated without the annoyance of answering their questions that we already know and now we are shocked at how little knowledge our children have entering college.
We wanted (no, WE DEMANDED!) leisure without work, freedom without responsibility, justice without fairness, life without consequence and are now surprised they gave in to our demands.
Who's 'we' muthafucka?
Though, love your posts most every other time.
lol...well yeah...sometimes I take a little too much artistic license ;-)
Approximately 60% of the population depends directly upon the regime for their employment income and entitlements - why would this majority want their food chain cut ????
Freedomguy,
Outside of Libertarians like Ron and Rand Paul no one talks about shutting down any government agency or reducing their programs and responsibilities.
You need to Google "reducing size of federal government conservative Senators" or "reducing size of federal government conservative Republican governors" or somesuch. Neither Ron nor Rand Paul is electable. Some of the Senators or Governors from your 2 searches are.
The thing Ron Paul is best at, vacuuming dollas out of constituent pockets.
I saw my first "I'm Ready for Hillary 2016" bumper sticker yesterday.
I hope the driver gets roasted alive and eaten by flesh eating EBT zombies when the time comes.
I have a feeling that the Dems are going to torpedo Hillary just like they did in 2008. Probably offer the Clintons a deal where they will support the golden child in 2028.
Agreed, like Oblunder, a relative unknown, they are going to pull this lunatic out of the asylum known as Massachussetts - Elizabeth Warren.
And yes, Massachusetts readers, and all you loons in the Northeast, Obama, the clintons, the bushes, and Warren, all your fault.
Truer words were never spoken- even if the bitch is really 1/32nd indian or whatever.
And watch where you walk, you may step in Connecticut.
Bitch is to Indian Like Obama is to American
My plan would be this:
15% fed tax and 5% state tax on income taken directly from paycheck eliminating the need for people to file tax with IRS. IRS would be reduced as their workload is reduced. This amounts to 20% which is 1 day out of 5 work days in a typical work week.
People on welfare must "volunteer" 1 day of work to earn their fair share. This volunteer work could be in areas such as daycare, transportation, general maintenance of public property, etc. Thus .gov could offer free daycare and public transportation at reduced prices because the labor is paid out of the welfare budget.
This solves the problem of the FSA demanding producers pay more in taxes because any tax increase results in an increase of FSA work time.
‘People on welfare must "volunteer" 1 day of work to earn their fair share.’
Why not make Prison Labor manufacture the products poor people want for free?
Howling in the isolated wilderness alone.
We are far beyond anything like this ever happening.
Prove me wrong. I'd be happy if someone could.
"Water is wet, but I don't eliminate my job so send a few bucks. You know you want to…”

I am waiting for the four majic words...."i support my son"
Ron Paul is wisely remaining very coy on the topic. If he ever openly backed Rand and actively supported him in a presidential campaign, they'd get torn apart by the left and the right equally.
What congress on what planet would ever pass any of that?
One that is disintegrated in a nuclear blast and no longer exists.
A blimp and a few overpass sign will suffice, Dr. Paul.
I am not a fan of censoring.

doesn't appear to be a proper Contact email contact for ZH, and since ZH bullheadedly refuses to implement a logical system of comments, where users can comprehend whom is replying to whom, I finally vow to clog these pages with this message.
This is simple constructive criticism. Out of love, for chrissake, you lovable fucking assholes.
If I reply to JoeBlow123, my reply should reflect that. What good is it if my reply is 28 levels below JoeBlow123 and no one from Moscow to Manhattan, fucking Kansas has any idea who the fuck I'm replying to? It's a random particle ofmeaningless, i.e. bullshit, i.e. useless fucktardish words.
Also, what is it about ZH that causes people to automatically, instinctively, insist upon replying to the most recent comment they've read, even though they're actually replying to the general post? Or some comment much higher up? This is the most asinine use of a blog I've ever witnessed. Have you fucktards never seen how this shit is supposed to work? Have you never seen a website comment section before? How can so many fucktards with so much purported knowledge about markets, currencies and general economics reply in the fucktardish manner in which you reply? You make daily asses of yourselves.
Do you you think it makes sense to reply to Tyler(s)' original post by actually replying to a simple "LOL" comment 42 levels down, 3 pages deep? How fucking stupid are you?! Why the fuck would I want to read a commentary once it gets to literally one word per line, 56 lines deep, for no logical reason?
And morespeaking, why would ZH even allow such a preposterously fucktardish system of comment posting?! Put a fucking limit on the fucking line length of a fucking comment!
Down-vote me if you will, fucktards. But you emblazon yourself as fucktards of the highest calibre by doing so. Brain-dead pop-culture commenters on Kardashian love-fest blogs are smarter than this. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. I'm tired of being distracted by the asininity of a preposterously fucktardish comment section while trying to gauge the pulse of the global fucktardian economy.
What the hell?
Hey Manipulism...unbind your panties and take a chill pill dude
What the hell?
You must have failed Bomastic Hyperbole 101.
Businesses have deep pokcets to buy out I mean contribute to pols, what good will voting on the next sell-out candidate do?
"THE VOTE", with the exception of 'fractional issues' that DO NOT bear down on the majority, like gay "marriage" is obviated by 12,000 lobbyists, whose clients possess the deepest pockets.
If they aren't from the get-go bought and paid for, the senior members will force it down their throats.
Elizabeth Warren is a fighter for righteously attacking the banks, and Wall Street, and as such should be an icon of putting the peoples' interest first and NEVER letting go til she gets that message out to the entire voting population and making it in their minds far more talked about, and dealt with by the general public---- which gives minimal time to an issue that affects them far more than gay 'marriage'.
Instead the public agonizes over Gay "marriage", and permits the media to make a national issue of College dating problems.
The priorities are so fucked up in this country because the human beans are allowing the media to get away with fractional issues occupying the forefront of their time, instead of demanding media take on the Jewish Wall Street Mafia, mano a mano.
With the exception of Matt Taibi at RS, and Gretchen Morgenson at the Times few nationally read real journalists are digging in and not letting go of this ongoing and historic horrendous rip off by the Wall Street Mafia.
Even Pelosi knew about the banker bailout before the vote, so no excuse.
