Are You Really Ready For The World To Be Ruled By Bankers?

Tyler Durden's picture

Martin Armstrong via Armstrong Economics, has some strong opinions...

Believe it or not, Citigroup announced on Friday that it would move its headquarters from New York to the actual U.S. Capitol Building, in Washington, D.C., in early 2015. Yes! They might as well had since they got everything they wanted... Could you imagine.

Citi outbid JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs to lease thirty thousand square feet of prime real estate on the floor of the House of Representatives.

This is just jumping off the cliff. Not only did these people grease enough palms to repeal Dodd Frank, they are now virtually leasing space right in the Capital Building and managed to increase the donation limitation from $32,400 to $324,000. They own Congress.

Well as they say – there goes the neighborhood. The real problem we face is when you take polls on the job performance on Capitol Hill, we will have to ask which group? Looks like the clouds are starting to gather for 2015.75 in a very dramatic way. Maybe it is just time to leave. Oh ya.

This is fulfilling the lyrics of the Eagle’s song Hotel California – where you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

And here is no lesser wit than The New Yorker's Andy Borowitz satirical view on the stuning development...

The banking giant Citigroup announced on Friday that it would move its headquarters from New York to the U.S. Capitol Building, in Washington, D.C., in early 2015.

Tracy Klugian, a spokesperson for Citi, said that the company had leased thirty thousand square feet of prime real estate on the floor of the House of Representatives and would be interviewing “world-class architects” to redesign the space to suit its needs.

According to sources, Citi successfully outbid other firms, including JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, for the right to move its headquarters to the House floor.

The Citi spokesperson acknowledged that the extensive makeover of the House is expected to cost “in the millions,” but added, “It’s always expensive to open a new branch.”

Explaining the rationale behind the move, Klugian told reporters, “Instead of constantly flying out from New York to give members of Congress their marching orders, Citigroup executives can be right on the floor with them, handing them legislation and telling them how to vote. This is going to result in tremendous cost savings going forward.”

Klugian said that Citi’s chairman, Michael E. O’Neill, will not occupy a corner office on the House floor, preferring instead an “open plan” that will allow him to mingle freely with members of Congress.

“He doesn’t want to come off like he’s their boss,” the spokesperson said. “Basically, he wants to send the message, ‘We’re all on the same team. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get stuff done.’ ”

.gov is imploding because .gov is just like all the TBTF banks:  100% insolvent.  Except, we have a Feral Reserve that so far has been able to get away with ponzinomics.

Don't really care where banks situate their buildings.  I hope the fraud, corruption, and white-collar-crime intensifies.  We need it to so that the awakening grows and the lamp posts get properly decorated.

I would go back to burning of Constandinople and starting of western europe ... how did it started?  it was the knowledge from Constandinople that put the basements ... then you go the crusaders to steal all gold of Byzantium ...

Basically you have two worlds: the greek and the bankers world, the first was out in the open, this one run from beyond the curtain, but in country after country, revolution after revolution you see the same methods and hand really ...

Btw, dont underestimate Martin ... it is not stupid it is misleading ... Martin knows better than that

Sorry to disagree, Sir, but change can occur instantly if the right ideas are implemented.  Honest debt-free money is not merely a "wishful hope worthy of pursuit"... it should be our ultimate goal.  Reality is what we make of it.  In the brief instances that debt-free currency has been tried throughout history (before the vampire squid re-ensnared its prey), it has worked brilliantly.  Pre-Revolutionary America (Colonial Scrip) and most recently, The Third Reich (I know people hate reading that), are perfect examples.  In both cases, TPTB sent their treasonous minions to eliminate these "rebel" nations and pull them back into their fold.  It IS very possible.

Then Andrew Jackson was wrong when he wrote "I killed the bank" on his grave ? I think the bank has been fighting, and got more and more power during the centuries. Now they are even coming out of the woods, it's the last phase, they hide less and less what they do thanks to the general apathy. I think this is what he means.

This one isn't:

"When a world government is first formally proposed, the advocates of world government will make promises. They will talk about protections of rights. They will talk about check and balances. They will wax poetically on the amazing “system” they have designed to ensure that their creation will never go off the rails. They will be very confident that they are playing a central role in the salvation of mankind. We must see through their deceptions, deliberate or not, and challenge them. Rest assured, that once power is centralized into a singular body, all of humankind will be enslaved. There will be no Russia for American dissident Edward Snowden to run to. There will be no Equador for Julian Assange. There will be only one refuge for those willing to resist that monolithic state: death.

When our current unstable world order begins degrades, we should be prepared for the attempt to construct a world government. Every thinking person has an obligation to do what he or she can to prevent this from happening. It would be the end of humankind as we know it.

Fortunately, we do not need to attempt to “beat something with nothing.” We have an alternate solution to the world’s problems. Our solution is informed by our correct understanding of the nature of the coercive state. Our solution is for people to organize and begin the long process of breaking states into smaller pieces. Our eventual goal will be the privatization of all property and the elimination of the coercive state entirely. Our solution will also eliminate war. For a war could not be conducted without concentrations of political power, and coercive taxation..."

Why would you assume a "nationalized" banking system would be an improvement in the slightest?

Tue, 12/16/2014 - 21:41 | 5561108 tumblemore
tumblemore's picture

I think we can safely assume that if we ever got to a point where a government nationalized the banks as a punitive measure against the banking mafia (as opposed to a disguised bail out) then at least the top three tiers of banking mafia management would be heading to jail where they belong.

I agree a "nationalized" banking industry run by the same banking mafia would make no difference.

It's might be worth Putin doing it though - if he replaces the top tiers - as the banking mafia with Russian passports are probably colluding with the banking mafia with US passports in the current economic warfare against Russia.

Some good points here. Any group that takes back the US Government against the Bankers would have to be Tough. They would have to act like Auditors and Grab the Books immediately.

I'm thinking the US Military knows how to do this and therefore could help the Civilians out in front of the Cameras. Probably lots of talented Bank Examiners, Accountants, Regulators, Academics, Lawyers (yick!) in the USA. Resolution Trust Corporation times 50.

Lots of Turmoil and it has to show progress quickly for public confidence.

A Fair Question.

- Bill Still, Ellen Brown, Public Banking versus Crony Capitalism
- No reason to pay interest to Private banks when clearly they don't prevent Moral Hazard or Excess Federal Spending or even Prevent War when there was no War Chest & $6 Trillion in Federal Debt by 2002 & $11 Trillion by 2009

I assume that:

- FED, US Presidents, & Congress are All Corrupt & lying about Economic Statistics
- US Private Banks Dominate Money Creation, Especially through Fraud & Derivatives
- US Private Banks are Corrupt & Dominate US Capitalism, Corporate Cronyism, and US Socialism
- War is Corporate Socialism or Corporate Subsidies
- Bailouts & Bail ins for Private Banks & Corporations are Corporate Subsidies
- US Corporate Culture Trend is to cut Costs no matter the solution, the damage to US Jobs, US Middle Class, US Consumers, and the End of the USA & the American Idea
- US Private Banks Loot US & Transnational Corporations Damaging Investors, the Financial System, and US Households & Pensions
- US Private Banks are not Patriots & will take their money and leave at anytime

Satire is 1/2 true. We're a long way past satire. We're in the 90% true, desperately deflect from reality phase.

The thing is you can't be completely ruled by the banking mafia because the banking mafia are a the societal equivalent of a deadly parasitic virus. You can be 1/3 ruled by them, 1/2 ruled and even 3/4 ruled but as soon as they take over completely (which they only finally achieved in the early 1990s imo) a society is doomed.

As a society cannot survive if the banking mafia take over completely (as has been proved time and time again over the last 3000 years) the actual options are:

1) close down the banking mafia's parasitic niche

2) be 1/2 ruled by them for a long time (a bit like having a tapeworm)

3) be destroyed

South and East Asia should learn the lesson while they still have time.

The banking mafia feed off debt. The debt is fuelled by and multiplies disposable income -> booms. However as debt increases it reduces the disposable income it was built on through the debt repayments -> busts. Pushing debt for consumption is *inherently* parasitic and over time gradually transfers all wealth from the productive economy to the parasite banks. Hence you can't be totally ruled by the parasitic banking mafia - well you can but not for long.

Congress is clueless.  How dumb can they be? Democrats are tyrants.  Republicans are cowards. Can you say United Socialist States of America. The Bill of Rights went out with the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
