Artist's Impression Of Obama's Iran Nuclear Policy

I don't know about 'we' because the people's steering wheel isn't connected to anything.

Forget the fascist media blowing smoke up everyone's asses with the phony nuclear threat. If the Iranians want to survive then they better get a Rothschild Central Bank in place. It's a bomb stopper.

Makes sense, benb. First get the CB, then they can make all the weapons and bombs they want. In fact, it will be encouraged.

Ok, lets go ahead and get this bit of nonsense over with.

Did America do it to stop a war or start a war? Do you think Tojo would not have dropped one on San Fran if he could have?

Be honest.

/////

Well, apparently we're not looking for honesty. We're looking for a state to have nuclear weapons that ALLOWS rape & sodomy by its prison guards against males & females before a prisoner is put to death by the state.

Because the body is going to die anyways, pure, soul-searching, theological Iranian justice...or sumpin.

You better do your fucking research of who runs Iran now before you pop off about some sort of "moral equivalency".

That's conjecture, but the reality is that the US did nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There was absolutely no need to.

OK nmewn, I think that is a trick question.  How about they did it to stop one war and put them in a position to start a lot of little ones?  Just rattling off history at this point.  There is no denying it.  Don't get me wrong.  I still love the original USA.  But the guiding light out of the capitol the last 50 years looks more like Sauron than Andrew Jackson.

Ok, lets go ahead and get this bit of nonsense over with.

Agreed. It's absolute nonsense. The Iranian nuclear weapon program is pure fiction. All US intelligence agencies admit it. The IAEA admits it. Even Israeli intelligence admits it. Iran's activities are in full compliance with their obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. (Of course, this cannot be said for the US, and Israel isn't even a signatory.)

So yes, getting this nonsense over with is long overdue.

Did America do it to stop a war or start a war?

Trick question, as it was neither. Truman deliberately delayed the end of the war so that he could test both the uranium bomb and the plutonium bomb on real live cities. (The Japanese had been seeking to negotiate terms of surrender since early 1945 and were rebuffed by the US.) So the answer is that America did it as a threatening demonstration, the intended audience being Stalin and the Soviets.

Well, apparently we're not looking for honesty. We're looking for a state to have nuclear weapons that ALLOWS rape & sodomy by its prison guards against males & females before a prisoner is put to death by the state.

Enhanced interrogation techniques? I thought that was another article. But you're right, we're not looking for honesty. In Vichy DC, truth is kryptonite.

You better do your fucking research of who runs Iran now before you pop off about some sort of "moral equivalency".

Once again, you've hit the nail on the head. When you compare the US and Iran over the last century in terms of wars of agression (declared and undeclared), hostile military actions, and killing of innocents, the US has a lot to atone for.

But hey, I've got my car and my TV, so what do I care?

"The Iranian nuclear weapon program is pure fiction. All US intelligence agencies admit it."

Fiction is it...and when did "all US intelligence agencies" say that? What did they unleash Stuxnet against and why the panic around Parchin (outside Tehran) two months ago when something went boom?

"Truman deliberately delayed the end of the war so that he could test both the uranium bomb and the plutonium bomb on real live cities. (The Japanese had been seeking to negotiate terms of surrender since early 1945 and were rebuffed by the US.)"

Everyone knew what the bombs could do (Harry Dexter White and other Soviets included) and seeking surrender under terms sympathetic to the leaders of Imperial Japan doesn't tell the whole story does it?

"Enhanced interrogation techniques?"

Yeah, like Unit 731 or the Rape of Nanking, right?

You know as well as I do that Iran wants nuclear technology even while sitting on vast reserves of oil & gas.

Why?

Fiction is it...and when did "all US intelligence agencies" say that?

Back in 2012.

http://news.antiwar.com/2012/02/25/new-york-times-us-intelligence-says-i...

http://antiwar.com/blog/2012/08/03/ehud-barak-admits-iran-has-defensive-...

What did they unleash Stuxnet against

Cascades of centrifuges used for uranium enrichment (an activity explicitly permitted under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, by the way).

and why the panic around Parchin (outside Tehran) two months ago when something went boom?

Parchin is a rather large (24 square miles) military research and testing facility. Its very nature would lead one to expect things going boom there, both planned and accidental. Even though Parchin is not a nuclear facility, Iran has twice allowed IAEA inspectors to nose around there, even though the inspectors are not entitled to do so.

More background on Parchin here:

http://original.antiwar.com/porter/2012/02/23/iran-holds-up-access-to-pa...

http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/05/13/the-parchin-deception/

Everyone knew what the bombs could do (Harry Dexter White and other Soviets included) and seeking surrender under terms sympathetic to the leaders of Imperial Japan doesn't tell the whole story does it?

No, I suppose it doesn't, although I think you mean sympathetic to the leader (singlular) of Japan. On January 20, 1945, FDR received a 40-page memo from General MacArthur outlining 5 separate surrender proposals offered by the Japanese. They were offering terms which were virtually identical to those finally accepted by the US in the ceremony on the battleship Missouri on September 2, 1945.

Dwight Eisenhower, Douglas MacArthur, and Curtis LeMay, among others, are on the record as saying that the atomic attacks on Japan had nothing to do with the end of the war.

http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v16/v16n3p-4_Weber.html

"Enhanced interrogation techniques?"

Yeah, like Unit 731 or the Rape of Nanking, right?

I thought we were talking about how nuclear weapons in the hands of a state that allowed rape/sodomy of prisoners might not be a good idea. I agree. Whether it's called rectal rehydration or some other euphemism, it's still ass rape as punishment. I don't understand how Japanese war crimes in the 1930s and 1940s are relevant in this context.

You know as well as I do that Iran wants nuclear technology even while sitting on vast reserves of oil & gas.

Why?

Iran already has nuclear technology. In addition to oil and gas, their mineral resources include uranium (albeit with enough molybdenum as a contaminant to make its enrichment beyond medical grade far more complex than what they've been doing). Their stated intention is for power generation and medical research/treatment. Importantly, their actions have been entirely consistent with their stated intentions.

Everything they've done has been strictly according to the terms of their treaty obligations. They have even invited the US to participate in their nuclear research program, as a partner, working alongside them. Every overture by Iran at reconciliation with the US has been rejected. In response, the US strongarms the world into imposing economic sanctions on Iran, sanctions which are actually in violation of the UN Charter.

Why?

Now Stooging (regarding the first two links, yes I read them because its you) if I were to show you my Hoyt bow and my arrows without the tips, would you consider them a lethal combination? One would likely die if shot with it, with or without the broadheads screwed on and frankly I'm surprised an anti-war blog would defend/promote anyone gaining competence in nuclear technology.

Yes, we both know what Parchin is and yes it was a bit of a red herring on my part but the activity engaged in there can hardly be described as "peaceful science", its a military facility. And its not like the IAEA has their own key to come and go as they please, which was a bit of a red herring on your part.

"I'm sorry, did you make a reservation? Your rooms not ready."...lol.

"They were offering terms which were virtually identical to those finally accepted by the US in the ceremony on the battleship Missouri on September 2, 1945."

Actually no.

The word from Japanese Premier Suzuki used after the Potsdam Declaration specifically stating they faced "prompt and utter destruction." if they did not unconditionally surrender all Japanese armed forces was Mokusatsu, meaning to ignore or ignore with contempt, ignoring the warning given. And they weren't real keen on "democracy" either.

Two weeks after this verbal warning was ignored, the first bomb was dropped. The leadership had time to swallow their pride and eventually did, unlike the nazis regime.

Returning to Iran, I actually don't have a problem with "normal" Iranians, as always its the leaders and their henchmen like the Basij.

From what I heard that embargo would not only check Japanese imperialism, but basically the Japanese economy.  They had 3 months of oil supplies left.  Were they not cornered in a way that left them no choice ?  Was that not an act of war in itself ?

MAD was supposed to save us because other countries would fear our retaliation. Given that we have bailed or failed in every military adventure of the last sixty years, not from lack of power or technology, but for lack of will to actually do what is required to win, I doubt any of our potential opponents really believes we would ever pull the trigger on a nuke. America prefers to lead from behind (bribery and blackmail). Russia, on the other hand, is viewed differently. Everyone thinks they would do it. This is our real problem with any other country getting nukes. American leaders know there is no way they could use ours, even in a defensive role. MAD doesn't work any more.

“Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don’t worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.”

Rest easy old news is definitely bad news...  Been seeing these flying near Potomac Maryland off and on since July.

Gee?...

I wonder how quick the "trigger alert" will be on one of those when a few dozen of these get within 150 miles off Baltimore and Virginia Beach?  Don't we do all of this by satellite these days???... Kinda WWI and IIish wouldn't ya say?!!!

Just goes to show you how much we matter to the elite that will be far gone when those balloons locate the "incoming", unlike the Russians that have millions of square acres of underground bunkers for survival!!!  Or perhaps it will be a surprise from within just like 9/11 to help urge us on for the next big game!

If any of you American taxpayers know the location of the bunkers that you paid for with a giant Uncle Sam statue outside welcoming the public in for a rough holiday -please provide the latitude and longitude when the DoD makes that available for other than "first' class" those balloons wion't be protecting!

Precious little I'm afraid.

Not one in ten thousand are even awake enough to see the rape and pillage on a scale never before seen by mankind, Which has been taking place since 2008.

Don't know when the plug will be pulled on this whole fantasy, but till it is, each day is as gift.

No need to employ nuclear weapons except for maybe one to three high altitude bursts across the rotted fruited plain.  At this point, I'm kinda not wishing against it.  Kim? Kim?
