Two NYPD Cops Murdered In "Execution Style" Ambush, Shooter Commits Suicide - Live Coverage
The simmering cold war involving the NYPD and various elements of New York's population just went nuclear when a little before 3:00 PM, reports hit that two NYPD officers were shot in their patrol car, and subsequently died, in what has been dubbed an "execution style" ambush in Brooklyn's Bed-Stuy area. The alleged shooter was chased by police and subsequently died of a self-inflicted gun wound.

According to Fox both officers died from gunshot wounds, citing city councilman Robert Cornegy. As RT reports, the shooting took place in Brooklyn outside of the Tompkins Houses at around 3pm. The shooter reportedly came out of the building before shooting the officers patrolling the area.
The suspect reportedly fled into a subway station where officers found him suffering from a gunshot wound that appeared to be self-inflicted. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Times.
The manager of a nearby liquor store told the Times that he saw the officers hunched over in their cruiser and said at least one of them looked like they were shot in the head.

The wounded officers were rushed to Woodhull Hospital in “grave” condition as at least one of them was hit in the head. The New York Post further reports that that both officers were shot in the head at point-blank range.
“It’s an execution,” a law enforcement source told The Post about the ambush.
Based to preliminary reports, the uniformed officers were working overtime as part of an anti-terrorism drill as they sat in their marked police car on a Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, street corner.
As the NYT's David Goodman reports, the name of the shooter appears to have leaked and it is Ismail Brinsley (this is unconfirmed by the NYPD).

Some more details about the shooter and his motives from the NY Post:
“I’m Putting Wings on Pigs Today,” a person believed to be the gunman wrote on Instagram in a message posted just three hours before the officers were shot through their front passenger window.
The post included an image of silver automatic handgun with a wooden handle. Another post showed camouflage pants and blue sneakers which matched the clothing the dead gunman was wearing as his body was carried from the scene on a stretcher.
“They Take 1 Of Ours … Let’s Take 2 of Theirs,” the post continued, signing off with, “This May Be My Final Post.”
The gunman was a fugitive who had just murdered his girlfriend in Baltimore Saturday morning, sources told The Post.
Chief Royster said the suspect opened fire on the police officers, ran up Myrtle and went into a subway station. The man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Chief Royster said.
Fire Department officials said that a 911 call came in around 2:50 p.m. reporting that two people had been shot.
Charlie Hu, the manager of a liquor store at the same corner, said he saw two police officers slouched over in the front seat of their patrol car. At least one of the officers, Mr. Hu said, appeared to have been shot in the head.
The last officer killed by gunfire in the line of duty was Peter Figoski in 2011.
More details on the shooting:
Minutes after shooting the two officers, he, too, was dead. He fled to a nearby subway station, the G-train station at Myrtle and Willoughby avenues, where, as pursuing cops closed in, he shot himself on a crowded platform, sources told The Post.
“They engaged the guy and he did himself,” one investigator said of the gunman’s demise.
Both shooting scenes — above and below ground — were scenes of blood and terror.
“I heard shooting, — four or five shots,” ear-witness Derrick McKie, 49, told The Post of the cops’ tragic murder. “It sounded like from a single gun,” he said. Ambulances and police cars rushed to the scene, he said. “I seen them putting the cop in the ambulance. He looked messed up,” McKie, a barber, added. “He took a high caliber weapon to the face. He was lifeless…I couldn’t see where the holes was that, all I could see was blood. His body was lifeless.”
Modal Trigg Carmen Jimenez, 32, a social worker from Bedford-Stuyvesant, was on the subway platform when the gunman ran inside, pursued by officers.
“Everything happened so quick,” said Jimenez, who is eight months pregnant. “We were standing waiting for the G train. We heard arguing from the other end of the platform.
It looked like two cops came in there was lots of yelling and they said, ‘Everybody get down.’

I used to deliver the Major daily newspaper in a van, in bulk from 1-9am in the morning, ...to stores, coin boxes, newsstands and schools.....every so often i would get assingned to the Cental(minority) area; I noticed that in white areas, if the cops stopped a car for some reason, i would never see more than one cop car......when i delivered in the Minority area, there were NEVER LESS THAN 5 PATROL CARS on the scene-sometime more...i watched this for 2 years. I am not sure about this. The reported killer does not have any blood on him. The EMC people do not have blood on thier gloves. Why did the shooter shoot himself when he could have had a shoot our with more PIGS. Why no picture of the police car that the PIGS were shot in? I beg to differ with you milli. The GOVT works to perpetuate the prison system. The people who become LEO's do so because they wish to help and protect peoe.
Like anything else in life you have a 15% average criminal and deviant portion of society no matter what. Just like police corruption, welfare fraud, shoplifting, rape, poverty, etc., etc.. The police have to deal with that percentage of the population and in some cases more than others on a daily basis.

After reading crime statistics for years, I would hazard knowing the number of cops asked to resign is about in line with the population in terms of crime.
The mistake has been to dole out military toys and use offensive policing to the younger crowd. I am over 60. You always had to watch the rookies for dumb-assery. The People need to demand we go back to community policing and take a neutral approach in training.
What used to burn me up was the locals in bad areas did nothing to help themselves.

It is because of the actions of the ghetto thugs that we have to deal with out of control cops. Many of the small town cops where I used to live were ones transferred out of the ghetto after being burned out. Like a soldier it is tough for them to get out of assault mode. It doesn't excuse them, they should just quit. But you have to that our wonderful public sector unions for that. No cop is going to quit when he can work for 20 years and sit on a fat pension for the rest of his life. This is also what gives us the worst possible candidates for cops in the first place.
Every cop has told me that they approach every situation like they are going to get shot. I've got in shouting arguments with a few cops, off duty because I'm not stupid, over their tactics in my town. Telling them to use common sense. The 80 year old grandma or the 16 year old kid from the town isn't going to shoot them. Although I had to concede the point that when the cop hears rap music blasting from an SUV he doesn't know if it is an armed ghetto thug or some little rich white kid. Once again thanks to the great society and drugs many ghetto thugs drive better cars than most middle class people.
Now in my old town social justice has destroyed it and the cops have stepped up their game even more. The danger is real now. Laws were passed requiring all towns to have designated low income housing. Some of the worst from the ghetto moved in within weeks. Petty crimes in the surrounding area skyrocketed. The grocery store was robbed twice and shoplifting has put a few local stores out of business. The school system has been destroyed using the "aunt" clause as over 100 ghetto kids have been shipped in. They all live with their "aunt" in the section 8 development.
As they say with any war, the innocent suffer the most. The cops aren't innocent, but ghetto thug america is far from innocent. The culture created by LBJ, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the liberal progressives is probably the most useless and dangerous group of people to ever exist on earth.
You have to assume the possibility anyone could whack you. You also have to use common sense. If we stopped a car with a little old lady we were obviously not jumpy, but you still have to be wary.
Now, stopping a car with 4 young males of any flavor puts you on a higher threat-assessment plane.

Civil asset forfeiture is a billion dollar industry, and 99% of those who are victims are never accused of a crime, because they're never suspected of crimes in the first place... it's nothing more than a money grab. Cops killed over 400 Americans last year, and NOTHING was done about it. No doubt they will kill more next year, and the next, and the next. Maybe, in the past, the system could be changed from the inside, but not any more; anybody who would attempt to make change the system will find, thanks to the NSA, cops at their door and kiddie porn on their computer.
