What took place in Washington over the past two weeks with the repeal of Dodd Frank and then the effective repeal of the Volcker Rule sounds strikingly familiar to at least three previous periods in American History that led to total disaster.
There were of course the Northern “carpetbaggers”, whom many in the South viewed as opportunists looking to exploit and profit from the region’s misfortunes following the Civil War. The “carpetbaggers” would play a central role in shaping new southern governments during the Reconstruction period who were joined by Southerners who saw economic gain in joining the Northerners in the exploitation of the South. They were called “scalawags”.
Then there were the Silver Democrats who were bought and paid for by the mining industry. William Jennings Bryan’s red-hot emotional speech at the 1896 Democratic Convention will forever live on in history. The shenanigans of the Democrats and Republicans, who tried to overvalue silver, led to the near bankruptcy of the nation and made JP Morgan famous thanks to the Panic of 1896 when he had to arrange a gold loan to save the country.
Then there was what people called the First Gilded Age more than a century ago, when senators and representatives were owned by Wall Street and big business. This culminated in the 1929 Crash.
What did all three of these period have in common with the last two weeks? Then, as now, those who footed the bill for political campaigns were richly rewarded with favorable laws. This is standard operating procedure in Washington and why we are in such desperate need of political reform.
In all three such periods there was a rising underbelly of rising tension and rebellion against the powers that be.
Today, people are increasingly becoming fed up with Washington and the rebellion unfolds ONLY when the economy turns down. There was Charles Dazey’s Broadway Play The War of Wealth (February 10, 1896). This 51.6 year ECM Wave that peaked in 1929.75 (#919-924) was a Private Wave that began with the death of Karl Marx and the previous 51.6 year Wave peaked in 1878. In 1882, because of anti-monopoly laws, Standard Oil is organized as a trust, which would become the target of all time.
Indeed, what the bankers pulled off these past two weeks was done on the basis that they ASSUME the people have such a short-attention span that (1) they did not expect any press, and (2) they expected this will blow over with the holidays.
The bankers have made the greatest MISTAKE of their career. Their desire to exploit the world economy through trading preferring to be TRANSACTION oriented rather than RELATIONSHIP (meaning there is no long-term plan here just trade by trade), will be their undoing. The bankers have ALWAYS become the most hated within society. It was the bankers that caused the Panic in Ancient Athens, Rome, and even caused countless riots and civil wars. It was Philip IV of France who confiscated and imprisoned the Italian Bankers for lending money to England to wage war. He seized even the Papacy moving that to France. He wiped out the Knights Templar who were a major banking organization. Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon because of the corrupt bankers in the Senate and the people cheered him as the bankers fled to Asia.
One a time scale, the Panic of 1896 came 13 years into that 51.6 year wave. Relating this to the current wave that began with the formation of G5 in 1985, that brought us to 1998 and the first bailout of Long-Term Capital Management. Then 26 years into that wave brought us to 1908. It was the 1907 Crash that shifted the focus from the Railroad to the Industrial Age. Currently, 26 years into this wave brought us to 2011 and the peak in all commodities from gold to oil. This has marked the beginning of the Euro Crisis with the first crack in 2010 being Greece.
We are embarking on a new shift and the stock market is reflecting this change. What the bankers just pulled off will lead to their demise. They have played with a historical fire that may end in actual bloodshed. It would not be the first time they have been dragged from their palaces and hanged on the streets. That is what the term “BLACK FRIDAY” really stood for – the day a mob hanged bankers on Wall Street.

However, I would disagree with the idea that the plan to divide the US into factions aka "race baiting" and in turn create confrontatin has backfired recently with "the police bearing he brunt...the last 48 hours". I think the plan is working out brilliantly. It always comes down to two objectives, 1) eliminate the competition and 2) asset transfer. Think about it...TPTB have developed into grand masters of this game, are they really going to allow something to backfire? What do the recent shooting of police accomplish? 1) It makes cops, who may have previously been against the idea, warm up to unconstitutionally disarming the citizens. So, TPTB are willing to sacrifice a few cops knowing that this will eliminate much of the constitution following police resistance, aka competition. This furthers enables TPTB agenda to de-fang the citizens AND at the same time create more fractures among the citizens. Which will eventually enable TPTB to grab massive amounts fo assets from the citizens, asset transfer. Just brilliant. I recently had a conversation with the son of one of the higher ups in the Venezuelan government. My take from people I meet in my business and my friends and family, and these combined equal a lot of people, is that there is little hint they even know what is happening in banking and finance. They seem clueless to the banker and congress alliance, and the wealth transfer mechanisim the Federal Reserve is. In fact, the few literate people I meet, are not schooled in the economy or politics. Too many are shaped by media, and we all know what media sells us. Right now CNN is spending hours talking about North Korea attacking some shit movie!
The people I know who are economically literate, and actively trade in international markets, they are all content with the Federal Reserve, and trade with the trend, the tend the Fed sets. I ask them, "don't you think money printing will destroy the system?" They look puzzeled, and mumble "what?" As long as the markets are juiced by Fed policy, and these traders profit from it, they are not in any unsettled mood.
I just can't see Americas rising up in any meaningful sense! They are products of Public Education, Liberal Univeristy Life and a life time of Media Brainwashing. You can't come out of that system and really question todays Finance Economy. Mostly they all want to be part of finance capital, not fight it.

I think there is little hope for a "2nd American Revolution" to restore liberty to the North American continent. Most Americans live in " cluster economies " meaning they tend to be alike in a particuler location. Bankers located in major cities or wealthy suburbs, Major oil companies and oil workers near refineries or oil patches, auto workers in midwest, policy makers in Wash, etc. As a result the US economy is not viewed in its entirety and interrelationships are not well understood nor do people depart from the myopic coversational norm at family gatherings, cocktail parties, church or other sports or social events. In Wash. where it should all come together from a policy perspective, the focus instead is on partisanship, influence peddling, political ladder climbing, campaign financing and patronage. Under these circumstances the most influential survive and flourish which happens to be the large banks and multinational corporations---all the rest is noise for the purpose of keeping Joe six pack amused and dumb.
That's why I think if/when things boil over it will start in a socio-economically depressed/repressed cluster. The dry tinder is there, it will just take the right spark.

Similar anecdotal evidence from the UK too. People either seem to be clued-up or completely clueless. The strange thing about those old friends of mine who are active in the markets and work in the finance houses is that back 6 yrs ago, they were mostly saying the same things about an untenable system, shocked by how QE and ZIRP will change price discovery forever and disgusted with all the corruption floating up to the surface. Those same people will now defend and rationalise the policies of the Fed, (With minor quibbles), even cheer on the Squids for being the pillars of the occidental market, usually ending their sentences with, "It's better than the alternative (Which is total systemic collapse)". They often parrot the latest Washington geopolitical stance too, which winds me up no end. The thing is, they know what they support is wrong, but they have long since substituted their consciences with their wallets - they have kids, the wife, houses, and a lifestyle to support. Many of them stack too and one or two may even have a bug out place with all the amenities, but essentially they are the suborned and willing participants in the system. I don't know whether I envy them or pity them.
As for the whole pitchforks and guillotines scenario, a mob without direction will always create more victims of injustice than justice for the victims of Wall St crimes. Quite frankly, there is no authority that will touch the criminals other than issuing fines as the cost of doing business. The justice system is a protection racket for the burglars of Wall St., and the politicians are in on the racket. I don't describe a happy ending with the good guys beating the bad guys, but that's reality for you - it often sucks.
I think there is a material difference between "content" and "resigned". I consider myself probably more economically literate and self-educated than the average person, which I increasingly feel is a bit of a curse because it just beats you down into cynicism and resignation. I'd be the first in line to buy tickets or order PPV to watch a whole laundry list of bastards hung, lined up and shot, or fed to the pigs. I'm really angry, really frustrated that nobody is held accountable, and truly convinced that the present system is irreparably broken and can, ultimately, only be changed through violent upheaval (which I personally think will be most akin to the French Revolution, if it ever actually does happen, which I presently don't think it will in my lifetime).
But neither I, nor I suspect most like me, are presently inclined to initiate vigiliante justice or assassinate these people. And I come from a military background not unfamiliar with or unaccustomed to violence. I think such acts require a heightened level of rage and desperation that the overwhelming majority of people just don't have (I'm excluding those with mental instability, on the assumption that their acts are not, at least in the first instance, purpose or ideaology driven).
I'm pretty beat down about the state of affairs, and like most folks I think, just try to make the best of it and not self-medicate too too much.
But, Jack, what is the alternative, even if your unknowing friends DID know, or could be made to understand? Is there a plan somewhere that I haven't seen or been able to find? I've asked friends many times who've emailed me with "people have to wake up and take action"! How about you, what's the plan? No? See, that's the problem. Everyone talks about doing something but no one has a plan. Without a plan, nothing can be done. Face it, we're all on our own. It's late tonight. Check back tomorrow evening and I will try to clarify a few things. Although I am certainly not as well read on the subject as you I may be able to provide a little insight.
The designation “Jew” belonged exclusively to the southern kingdom of Judah, the very word “Jew” having been derived from “Judah.” And so technically, only the kingdom of Judah was “Jewish” and the other tribes of Israel have no right to call themselves Jews. That this distinction was understood in the Old Testament is seen in II Kings 16:5-6 (KJV) where the people of Israel and the King of Syria fought against the “Jews” of the southern kingdom.
In the New Testament, in His message to the Church at Smyrna, Jesus referred to a “synagogue of Satan” as “them which say they are Jews, and are not.” In other words, there was a synagogue of Israel that was not Jewish:
The “Synagogue of Satan” must not be confused with the “Remnant” of Jews, who will receive the Lord Jesus Christ at His Second Coming and be saved by Him. The Synagogue of Satan are an occult power elite which, having rejected Jesus Christ as the Messiah of Israel, conspire to substitute another messiah made in the image of their master, Satan, and to establish a world kingdom under Satan. The Synagogue of Satan claims Jewish descent, but does not fit God's definition of a Jew, either in the Old Testament or the New: “But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.” (Romans 2:29)

The issue of a Jewish Antichrist is dealt with in the evidence of Scripture that the Antichrist will be a Jew of the apostate tribe of Dan. “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers...nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.” (Daniel 11:37)
Is the conspiracy Jewish? But this will happen before the establishment of God’s Kingdom.
Scriptural promises abound that God Himself will regather the House of Israel and bring them into “their own land. (Is. 11:10-13) For more than a century, the Zionists have been gathering their fellow Israelites from all over the world. Shall we conclude then, that by bringing the Jews to Israel, Zionism is therefore a movement of God and should be supported by Christians? This movement is not the fulfillment of God's promise to regather Israel, per se, but is Satan's counterfeit of Bible prophecy to establish the world kingdom which he will rule through the Antichrist from Israel. Satan is, in fact, using Zionism to regather the Jews to Israel for another Holocaust which will take place during the Tribulation period.

Yes, it is nice to talk about hanging bankers but I rather believe most of us are aiming at the wrong target. You need to aim slightly to the left at the government which empowers them. It is your government which creates the Fed, the rules and the bail outs. Disempower the government and separate banks from the government in every way.
I am not saying that bankers are angels. They are not. But neither is anyone else in any other industry. Agriculture gets direct payments from government. I suspect "big" oil, auto's, insurance and even pizza makers will get favors and tax dollars if they can. It is part of having a large government which intervenes in every aspect of the economy and life. It has no practical limits to its power to both regulate and redirect tax dollars to "friends" and large campaign donors.
So, I would suggest we are rather naive and even stupid if we think we will create a gigantic controlling government and it will not pass out favors. This is the leftist conundrum. Think "Samson Option" of subtle sabotage throughout the economy. Computer systems that get screwed up, take a long time to fix, packages mis-delivered, FedEx becomes unreliable, maintenance costs go through the roof everywhere. Cops can't even keep local crime under control, much less people who decide to snipe them. Think about the fact that the military is impotent to protect a society from attack when it is that society attacking, the reason they have lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. Think how many insiders in every part of every organization there would be coordinating all that.

The gov will lose, patriots know this perfectly well, and so they are pushing and will continue to do so. Gov will continue to back down because it can't afford any upsets. Ferguson and all such incidents will be played for propaganda value "Look at those terrible terriorists burning down our cities" after they do nothing to protect property.
So if the patriots choose the correct goals, rolling the gov back inside the Constitution and abolishing all the illegal parts of government, we get out of all this failure with a country intact and reformable, if not reformed.
The problem is the cost. Samson Option will be less expensive than a shooting war, but nevertheless terribly expensive.
