Hundreds Of NYPD Officers Turn Their Back On de Blasio Again

Tyler Durden's picture

Amid the heartbreak and sorry of the funeral of Rafael Ramos (one of the two assassinated NYPD cops last week), hundreds of police officers turned their backs away from the large screen outside the church as New York mayor Bill De Blasio began to speak...

As The Guardian explains,

Some police union officials have said de Blasio contributed to a climate of mistrust toward police amid protests over the deaths of Brown and Garner. At a hospital after the shooting, the police union’s president, Patrick Lynch, and others turned their backs on the mayor in a sign of disrespect. Lynch blamed the mayor then for the officers’ deaths and said he had blood on his hands.

Weeks before the shooting, Lynch suggested that officers sign a petition requesting that the mayor not attend their funerals were they to die in the line of duty. Cardinal Timothy Dolan and others have since called for such officials to temper the rhetoric.

De Blasio has stood by the police since the shooting, calling on demonstrators to temporarily halt protests and praising officers after the NYPD announced the arrest of a seventh person since the shooting for making threats against police.

On Thursday, the mayor briefly attend Ramos’ wake but made no comments. There was no noticeable reaction from the officers upon his arrival, and Ramos’ family has said they welcome the mayor’s presence at the funeral.

On Friday, an anonymous person paid for a an aerial sign to be flown over New York City. It read: “de Blasio, our backs have turned to you.”

An entire fleet of NYPD helicopters is doing circles around Glendale.  I am up on a hill and they turn north in the circle to come right at my house.  I have video, will see if I can post it.  Glendale about 3 miles from my house.  ON LIKE DONKEY KONG.  Who would think that th eNPYD fires the first shots in the Civil War?  Air traffic to LaGuardia normally runs right through this area on Saturday mornings.  It's been rerouted.  As I speak the helos are doing circles in a fleet.

Nothing new.  Say what you will, but the NYPD essentially held DSK ransom if you recall, they are a force to be reckoned with an not necessarily pro-federal government.  Biden there today as well, I've heard.  NYPD is well-equipped with the big .50 cal sniper rifles and able to use them from choppers.

Time for the Federal Government to implement a National Police force headed by the DHS and simultaneously, quarantine all dissenters operating within local law enforcement agencies (that's the ultimate goal of all ongoing PSYOPs). This nation needs to be under permanent Martial Law, period.

White man seen driving Ghana’s police van

The police administration is investigating a case in which a white man was seen driving a police van on the eve of Christmas.

An eyewitness sighted the white man driving the police van with registration number GP 3836 around Dansoman in Accra and blaring the sirens at 9:30pm.

“I was in a car with my family and we were coming from the Sahara side of Dansoman heading towards first stop. When we got to the roundabout, I saw the police car being driven by a middle-aged white man. There was an occupant in the passenger seat and another at the back of the van. We followed it and when we got to the roundabout it negotiated and headed towards the Dansoman Keep fit. I was trying to follow up and get some pictures, but it sped off. I took the number,” he narrated.

The Police Service has confirmed receiving information on the incident and has promised to begin investigations into it as soon as possible.

DSP Cephas Arthur, who is with the Public Affairs Department of the service, told JOY NEWS they will track down and take punitive measures against personnel found culpable. To the best of his knowledge, no white man of that description is within the Service and would be an aberration for a non-Ghanaian to be seen driving a police vehicle. “So it is easy to track down whoever has committed any offence at whatever point in time. I am going to pursue it seriously, take it up with the authorities and try to see whoever is responsible for this. If it turns out to be that there was a white man driving a police vehicle and such a white man is not a Ghana Police officer… [disciplinary measures will be taken].

$200k for union officials?  So what?  In NYC that's peanuts compared to, say, what criminal bankers make.  And at least they're standing up for the rank and file today against de Blasio and his dear friend Al Sharpton, etc.

You probably don't remember the good old days when NYC had 3,000 deaths per years due to violent crime.  That's about 10 a day.  The streets were savage and life could be seriously unpleasant.  Children were being sprayed by drug gangs with bullets while they were in their bedrooms sleeping or playing.  Heartbreaking headlines were common.  6 dead. 8 dead. That was the rule - ever single day - not the exception.

NYC is now one of the safest cities in the world with only about 300 violent deaths per year.  I don't begrude the NYC police or their union one penny, and neither should you.  But then, I live here and am not speaking out of my a**.

Get real.  Every village, town and city in the US has cops in one form or another. Nobody likes the militarization of the police in the US, but it's happening everywhere, not just NYC.

I've been in NYC my entire adult life.  So, it's hardly "temporary safety" we're talking about here.  And I'd rather deal with a member of the NYPD than the ones I've dealt with in Florida and other places around the country.

We've lost our essential liberties mostly due to the feds and politicos, so you can stop blaming the guys and gals in blue.

The guys and gals in blue are the enforcers for the politicos. Without the cops, the politicos would be powerless to implement their un Constitutional power grabs.

The cops are the enforcers of the elite. The funny thing is that now the elite are throwing the cops out like so much trash. The cops have spent decades enabling the people that are now spitting in their face.

And what do they do? Nothing. They lick the hand that slaps them.

The fact that you have spent your entire adult life in New York is obvious. Enjoy living in a place where others have decided that you can't carry a pistol and that it's illegal to sell one of your smokes to another man because they know better than you.

Irene, crime in NYC has gone down since the 1970s due to:

1. demographics (the country's population has gotten much older; old people are rarely violent)

2. poor people have been pushed out of NYC by yuppies and wealthy foreigners

3.  lead abatement

4.  widespread, common abortion of their infants by women whose infants are statistically more likely to commit crimes when they become teens (BTW I think abortion is terrible even so)

5.  "cycles" in addiction; these waves and trends exist independent of policing; remember crack?

6.  greatly increased incarceration rates; due to the work of cops but not ultimately any extra effort on their part

7.  finally, possibly some changes in policing.

Demographics are everything in crime.  NYC has not changed due to the police; it has changed due to demographics.  I remember NYC of the 1970s; it was all young people.

Do you know how much OT these guys collect on all the various 'terrorism' postings?  e.g. standing around on 5th Ave and elsewhere?  The outright contempt NYCPD holds for anyone that DARES protest or question anything is astounding.  Hell, the Bronx DA was - quite legitimately  - prosecuting cops for ticket fixing and more (like leaking the investigation) which they seem to view as some kind of 'right' for friends and family and he got hell from them.  One NYC cop - drunk on his ass - shot up a car for absolutely no reason - and hit the two people inside - just over the line in Westchester after spending the evening in a bar and you should have seen the kid gloves he was handled with.  Not even charged with DUI until much later in the process.  Every NYC cop I've known has pulled out the badge every time he could whenever he could if it benefitted him.  Just don't EVER complain publicly.

Two levels of justice...
From a report of NYPD protests back in '92 against then mayor Dinkins (Rudy was on deck)....
"While about 6,000 officers participated in a peaceful rally on Murray Street, more than 4,000 swarmed over police barricades, blocked the entry to City Hall and later marched onto the Brooklyn Bridge, where they tied up traffic for nearly an hour. Neither the leadership of the P.B.A. nor senior officers of the department were able to control them.

In a telling moment, Chief David W. Scott, the highest ranking uniformed officer in the department, was booed down by the crowd when he implored the officers to move off the steps of City Hall. "I'm disappointed in the fact that police officers would violate the law," Chief Scott said later.

This is a pissing contest between the mayor and the cops. The mayor did throw fuel on the fire and two cops are dead. Can any of us say for sure those two cops were corrupt and abusive and deserved to die? I have no problem with putting dirty and abusive cops in prison with the rest of the criminals. The two slain cops is a horrible event,,, too bad they don't consider it the same when citizens are killed, some by the very hands of our serve and protect mafia. You know how fascists came to power in Italy and Germany prior to WW2 and what was one of their campaign messages? They promised the public and property owners to get rid of labor unions. Even before Mussolini black shirt brigades were going around with bats, beating up union leaders and press representatives standing by their side. Communism, socialism and bolshevism were considered to be the biggest to nation state at the time. Both, Churchill and many US congressional speakers at the time praised both Mussolini and Hitler for their tactics. Investment into fascist Germany on behalf of 5 biggest US corporations peaked in the 30's. Why? Because people were fed up with union crap. People were starving and wanted to work, while other members of society perceived themselves as the guilded class, refusing to work and denying work to others. So fascists and general public drove the unions out, that brought down the cost of labor and ensured investment inflow out of other countries. That, in turn, helped build the Nazi war machine.

A thing to mention with regards to UAW union. Private sector unions aren't quite like the public sector. UAW demands and expectations are largely responsible for for driving the auto industry out of this country to places where labour is cheap. Private sector unions always risk either destroying the host or having it migrate elsewhere. Then they pay for the greed. Public sector unions are whole other matter.

Just like NYC cops, they actively participate in the political process. They have to power to get politicians in and out of office. They themselves don't go anywhere. They pillage the tax coffers for every cent there is. They rule through fear and intimidation, and since cops, unlike water, garbage, fire, teachers and other unions, actually contribute to the inflow of capital through charges and fines, they have both feet on the money hose. They're people who collect their own income and that gives them much more power and leverage.

Great propaganda line there.  There are a few bad cops and there always will be...normal distribution curve says so (like with anything else involving people).  The majority of LEA's are good and dedicated people who are suffering from an agenda driven by politics and distributed by MSM.  Its a tragedy that a young man was killed in Ferguson, but had he not resisted arrest and attacked a cop he would probably still be alive - maybe in jail though, for strong arm robbery.   Likewise in New York, its very sad that a man died because he was being arrested for selling singular cigarettes, but he too resisted arrest and suffered a heart attack as two much smaller officers tried to arrest his 400 lb. person. I wish in both cases the police had tasers so that these young men would still be alive.  In the end however its a lesson that parents need to teach their kids to obey law officers. In both of the previous cases if the men had complied with the LEA's they would be alive and if their cases proved to be harrasment they would be able to file legitimate complaints.  Here is a case in point:  my brother lives in what most would consider a nice, safe neighborhood.  He has a 10 year old son that loves playing with toy guns (like most 10 year olds).  He has told his son over and over to never take the toy guns out of the back yard because if a police officer came by and saw them the officer might mstake them for real guns and the outcome could be very bad.  This is not all on the cops, a great deal of it is on how the unfortutnate young men reacted to police and some very bad luck.

What a bunch of drivel.  When you get rewarded with paid time off for every citizen shoot, do you expect anything less than thugcops with itchy trigger-fingers?  When the risk of being prosecuted for a felony following a cop killing a citizen is near zero, do you expect anything other than sociopaths being attracted to the police force?  What psychological testing do policemen face to weed out sociopaths?

Social justice is a term coined by liberals such as yourself. There is no "social justice" just as there is no "racial justice" or "economic justice".

There is simply "justice". This means the laws are applied equally to all.

It's a simple concept.

The fact that justice is not applied equally is a reflection on the failure of the American people to be a moral, educated and righteous people.

There is no need to invent new words to advance your agenda. Any questions dipshit?

This was a white male who was beaten to death, so there was only a one time peaceful demonstration in protest of the aquittals, there was local media coverage, probably just a passing mention nationally.

Thug behavior by the NYPD is nothing new, but thanks to former PC Ray Kelly, these gangbangers in blue feel they are above the law.  Where else are these guys going to get jobs that pay a patrol officer $100,000 a year (after overtime) for a glorified watchman job with a ticket and arrest quota?  That salary doesn't include the payoffs for looking the other way as dope mules from the Sinaloa cartel flood the city with heroin and ecstasy.  Whatever Dave Letterman says, New York City is now a cesspool of corruption where real estate developers and crooked politicians rule.  The 343 firefighters murdered on 9/11 by the CIA's best (on Bush's orders) are a distant memory.

Multi issues and the union will not make it better. Years ago I worked for emergency services and use to refer to police like the game a barrel of monkeys...different colors but all the same shape. All I thought had the same mindset greater than thou. I learned a tough lesson as I found out it wasn't so and some where actually very good people..they might not be the majority but are there. Officer Ramos could have been one in the minority as it appears his goal was to be a chaplin and was to graduate the day he lost his life.

Sat, 12/27/2014 - 14:27 | 5596639 Binko

The solution is to outlaw police unions.

Cops' primary loyalty is to their union which represents them as a clan, a tribe apart, a gang and an armed mob. This is very harmful. Do we want to be policed by armed goons who do not answer to the public good first and foremost?

It is a very scary thing when you see massed ranks of armed men acting in unison like this. What do you think would happen to any cops who don't go along with the group, who don't turn their backs because they personally don't think it's right?

We've allowed the police to become occupying armies in our big cities rather than a civilian controlled police force tha enforces our laws and protects us. And these occupying armies are controlled by the police unions.

Seems like the thin blue line is wising up to the plans that the NWO and especially the Demorats have in store for them.

You know - I think it´s going to be more problematic for the Blasios of this world than they have expected. When something untowards happens it alway ends and begins with with police and bodyguards and such.

The ensuing investigation will never go anywhere based on simplistic statements such as " we just went för doe-nuts - who woulda have thunk there was an armed nutjob around" - or when that limo drove around without the bubble top and when the shooting started just  made a stop to see what was going on....? Jeez ain´´t it strange...?
