Hundreds Of NYPD Officers Turn Their Back On de Blasio Again

Tyler Durden's picture

Amid the heartbreak and sorry of the funeral of Rafael Ramos (one of the two assassinated NYPD cops last week), hundreds of police officers turned their backs away from the large screen outside the church as New York mayor Bill De Blasio began to speak...

As The Guardian explains,

Some police union officials have said de Blasio contributed to a climate of mistrust toward police amid protests over the deaths of Brown and Garner. At a hospital after the shooting, the police union’s president, Patrick Lynch, and others turned their backs on the mayor in a sign of disrespect. Lynch blamed the mayor then for the officers’ deaths and said he had blood on his hands.

Weeks before the shooting, Lynch suggested that officers sign a petition requesting that the mayor not attend their funerals were they to die in the line of duty. Cardinal Timothy Dolan and others have since called for such officials to temper the rhetoric.

De Blasio has stood by the police since the shooting, calling on demonstrators to temporarily halt protests and praising officers after the NYPD announced the arrest of a seventh person since the shooting for making threats against police.

On Thursday, the mayor briefly attend Ramos’ wake but made no comments. There was no noticeable reaction from the officers upon his arrival, and Ramos’ family has said they welcome the mayor’s presence at the funeral.

On Friday, an anonymous person paid for a an aerial sign to be flown over New York City. It read: “de Blasio, our backs have turned to you.”

While about 6,000 officers participated in a peaceful rally on Murray Street, more than 4,000 swarmed over police barricades, blocked the entry to City Hall and later marched onto the Brooklyn Bridge, where they tied up traffic for nearly an hour. Neither the leadership of the P.B.A. nor senior officers of the department were able to control them.

In a telling moment, Chief David W. Scott, the highest ranking uniformed officer in the department, was booed down by the crowd when he implored the officers to move off the steps of City Hall. "I'm disappointed in the fact that police officers would violate the law," Chief Scott said later.

The NYPD raped the privacy of more than 6 million New Yorkers by the unconstitutional stop-and-frisk instituted by fascist mayor Bloomberg – 1800 stops-and-frisks everyday. Every New York cop had a quota for stop-and-frisk. How many resigned to protest stop-and-frisk? Not one.

Now some criticism from a mayor about heavy handed tactics that have resulted in deaths and the poor darlings are offended. I would say “fuck the fascist police” but they say it much better with their juvenile, puerile actions

"What is dumb shit Fox viewers say?"

The issue isn't conservatism versus "liberalism" but fascism/statism versus liberty.

These cops are turning their back on the right of people to protest systemic police violence against unarmed people.  Make no mistake - most cops would defend a fellow cop virtually no matter what the facts are.  It's one thing to disagree with the protestors - quite another to cry and stamp your feet that the mayor supports their right to voice their opinion.

The notion so doing is responsible for the murder of the two cops by a lone nut is too absurd to take at all seriously.

Definition of "liberalism" from Dictionary.com

"a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties."

Oh boy, sure sounds like a "mental disorder"!

NYC put Themselves  into this mess.

The Big Apple may be liberal, but I do not think electing a proven Marxist reflects trying to govern from a more center position.

Just like his hero, MaoBlasio has changed names at least as many times as Lance Link, Secret Chimp.

This breach creates Instability, which I think MaoBlasio is trying to do on purpose.

Now he'll have to hire ex-Mossad to bodyguard him.

To provide some additional perspective, in Phoenix last week, the chief of police was directly orderd to not hold a press conference demanding the city sign a new 2-year contract (much like in NY right now.) He held the conference anyway. He was fired within hours. He had a boss.

NYPD is not winning any fans with this kind of behavior other than within their own ranks. My guess is like a lot of people that have been in power too long in this country, it's gone to their head and they actually believe their own propaganda, and it's going to be a rude awakening the day reality sets in.

Much as I wish it would be the day everyone on the street turns their backs to the cops, it'll probably be when they get the notice their pension fund balance is zero due to TPTB blowing up the system.

The behavior of the NY police should be considered mutiny. The mayor is their commanding officer and should be shown respect, even if they don't personally like his policies.

If they are unhappy they should resign. Instead they are acting more and more like a rogue band of pirates. This is not a good development for the future.

I would feel for the police - but I can not remember a single time, in which a single fuck was given by the NYPD, for the death of someone killed by the NYPD in cases where the person was unarmed.

Cunt or not De Blasio should start firing some of these people - they are supposed to serve and protect the people of NYC, not act like an occupying army which reflexively defends its own against indictments that should have been no brainers [Garner] - they line up in their dress blues here, as they should, but there's no indication they EVER give a fuck about the victims of the NYPD.

That head of the police union, Lynch, is a fucking puke.

And every bar owner and businessman in NYC who has to pass the boys in blue an 'envelope' should start telling their tales.

The NYPD is as much a petty mafia as it is a police force.

And the fact it has an office in Israel speaks for itself.

Widespread crime prevention happens automatically when the rule of law is applied and criminals learn that they will most likely not be able to get away with their crimes.

The cops not doing their jobs guarantees the types of corruption and systematic malfeasance we see.

And worst of all: in fact, the #1 job of all fucking cops is to protect and cover elite pedophiles when they get caught RAPING KIDS.  I really fucking hate the god-damned police.

I don't think anyone is against the idea of a police force [okay, maybe a few anarchist types who are still in that phase of their thinking and have more reading and getting mugged to do] or even the average cop - but against police misconduct and abuse of power, pretty common in NYC, which largely goes unpunished.

Here, they seem to want to blame the mayor for the deaths of two cops.  Why?  Because he supported, or pretended to, the protesters, in particular the black community.

Now, I'll posit here that while blacks were unquestionable subjected to stop and frisk more than the rest of us, and have probably faced much much more than their fair share of police bullying, the idea that cops are targeting blacks misses the point that plenty of whites have been killed by police who have become increasingly militarized, deliberately, since 9/11.

Now, you and I might disagree on the Brown and Garner cases, on to what extent this is an issue of racial injustice versus police misconduct generally - but to blame the mayor for in some sense supporting demonstrators, for the actions of one fucking nutjob, is absurd.

To me, and I'm not saying you have to agree, these cops are turning their back on the very real problem of police militarization and misconduct, blaming the wrong guy, and turning their back on the 1st Amendment.

How many of them would cover up a murder committed by a fellow cop?

 - more than should be tolerable in any free society.

How many more cover up or excuse needless violence [short of murder], or simple rudeness and bullying by fellow cops?

- just about all of them.

"which means that they work for me,"

Actually, with a little research you will find that:

1) They are federalized, and report to their federal minders more so than their local ones. De Blasio is finding this out right quick.

2) They ultimately work for the benefit of the banksters. They are the banksters' shylocks, literally. The gun and badge thugs keep the "debt maintenance" lucre flowing upwards from the farm animals, the people, to the managers, the government, and then ultimately on up to the banksters.

911 is a scam. They arrive after the fact to collect evidence and funnel work to the Judicial, Legal and Penal Industries.

They don't prevent anything, they don't protect anyone, they only react, and they won't endanger themselves.

Everyone here with Real World experiennce knows exactly how useless calling 911 is when you are in real danger.

They arrive in 3 minutes, and you have been dead for 2 minutes and 50 seconds.

It takes seconds (2 or 3) to kill with a knife, 45 with a choke hold.

Couple of data points:

1. I have been targeted by criminals, but my 357 magnum pistol and 12 guage tactical autoloader were immediately available and prevented me from being a victim, ie no need for me to call the police, wait for them to arrive, and then struggle with them interfering and trying to determine if armed still-living me was the criminal or the victim.

2. I have been an innocent victim of police harassment, reprisal and intimidation resulting ONLY from me photographing police misconduct towards others, THEN the police targeted me for daring to document their abuses.

Therefore, based upon my experiences, I prefer MUCH LESS police officers AND MUCH MORE LIMITED police powers.

One more point: I STRONGLY advocate a mandatory death penalty for any cop who interferes in any way with anyone recording their activities using audio or video, or any cop who attempts to confiscate or destroy the evidence, or any cop who attempts to harass, intimidate or retaliate against the person doing the recording.

The death penalty for these cases should be administered be being first crucified upside down in the town center and stoned, but not enough to kill him, then burned while still alive after a day or so of appropriate suffering.

Two things to say:

1) To the NYPD: "What you sent around, came around."

2) Not that I would piss on a burning pol to put him out, but doesn't the NYPD's behavior toward the mayor reveal who the local PDs actually work for--not the local pols and crats, that's for sure. Federalized and Zionized.

Watched a crockumentary which showed that the bullet that killed Kennedy was a .223 fired from an AR15 carried by a secret service agent in a car behind him. The conclusion they came to was that it was accidental and that's what the coverup was all about....

Pretty convincing evidence about the .223 being the round that blew out the skull, but accident? I think not. I guess the guy wrote a book about his findings - http://www.amazon.com/Mortal-Error-ballistics-astonishing-discovery/dp/0...

Lets see, what are the odds that an agent picking up an AR15 off the floor of a moving vehicle and proceeding to move it around to point up and behind him at Oswald would by chance inadvertantly hit the trigger at the precise point in that movement to fire a round that hits the president square in the back of the head?

What a mind job. Hero oathkeeprs good guy saviors of all things good. Nobody has had more sunshine blown up thier asses than the cops. The promisses they have been made? The bullshit they are fed every day. Be safe out there? We are all that keeps the bad guys in check? We are the good guys? Us vs them all?  Its OK to lie if you are a good guy?

This blind faith in the brotherhood of law enforcment is a big part of todays worst problems. I got news for ya. We all have been lied to about everything. Remeber this tho. Its the important part.

Those lies came from the people we trusted most. Those are the worst lies not because they told them to us but because we believed them.

 Another story from my youth.

About the age of 14 I ask my mom. Mom do you think Im smart? Mom being smart says. Of course you are very smart. Oh did you take out the trash today? Knowing full well that I had not. That was a long walk to the dumbster out back. She was yanking some chain that day but good. To this day Im still chewing on it. She lied right to my face and smiled with a twinkle in her eye. One of many things I take from it is everyone lies. For all kinds of reasons. My mom had her reasons too. So if my mom would lie to me? Yall look like ya need some salt.

Dont be a follower make up your own mind. Ask the good questions first. Dont let anyone do your thinking for you.

Turn their backs? What good would that do? They should make a real statement  -they should all resign. But they won't do it as they are a bunch of pussies -  except when they confront unarmed citizens (white or black, doesn't matter) then they are real he-men  -they have the guns, they have the power  -so don't fuck with them. They'll beat you, taser you, throw you in jail, or even kill you.

Demographics are not everything in crime, otherwise what explains the continued high rate of violent crime in cities like Chicago?  I'm sure the abortion rate in the poorer neighborhoods of Chciago are similar to those in the Bronx, the incarceration rate is probably not that different between the two cities, poor people have not actually been pushed out of NYC - they've been moved around (poverty rate in NYC has remained at about 20% since the late 70s and NYC has one of the highest rates of child poverty in the country).

Come on.  "Possibly" changes in policing?  Interesting how grudgingly any credit is ever given to the NYPD.

How does that cop cum taste?

You can be "safe" - all you have to do is sacrifice your God given rights and let your masters decide what you can eat, what you can drink, smoke and shoot. You can live under their cameras, under their control and under their boots - in return you can be "safe" - for now.

Just remember, when they decide to stamp you out, you will be defenseless because you abdicated your right to self defense to your "protectors" for your miserable ease.

And you deserve it.

I have not led a quiet, safe life and when my ass needed saving, cops saved me. I know they're becoming militarized and I'm sorry to see that but when your ass needs saving, it's good to have a cop around. If you've had a safe life, you're going to look at things from that perspective. This world is a lot more dangerous than law abiding citizens know.

Let them all stay home for a week or two.  All of them.  Fire extinguisher and a 44 mag are fire and police protection in real life when you are at home.  Having said that there is a certain portion of any population that modifies its behavior for fear of being caught.  Just food for thought.  3 of my 4 neighbors know my security code to get in my house and I know theirs.  There may come a day in the not too distant future when treating your neighbors like family may come in handy.

I saw the fires of 1968 though a young teen.  We are now on a teeter totter and this country is in the balance.  There could come a day when you see you needed to be more careful what you wished for.  Good weekend to all.

How does one sneak up on two cops on patrol?

Per the Merriam-Webster dictionary:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/styles/default/images/reference/hardrule-...); background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: 0% 50%; background-repeat: repeat-x;">Full Definition of PATROL 1 a :  the action of traversing a district or beat or of going the rounds along a chain of guards for observation or the maintenance of security  b :  the person performing such an action  c :  a unit of persons or vehicles employed for reconnaissance, security, or combat
As used in a sentence. They were too busy staring at their fucking phones instead of being on patrol as they are paid to be, that's how the fuck you "assassinate" TWO cops. They were not doing their jobs and they paid a very heavy price because of that.
