Oliver Stone's New Movie: "Ukraine: The CIA Coup" Coming To A Theater Near You

Tyler Durden's picture

US filmmaker Oliver Stone is currently engaged in production of a documentary about Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych, who fled the country following the February coup last year. As Sputnik reports, Stone's Facebook page notes, "[I] Interviewed Viktor Yanukovych 4 hours in Moscow for new English language documentary produced by Ukrainians. He [Yanukovych] was the legitimate President of Ukraine until he suddenly wasn't on February 22 of this year." The outspoken director then added, "the truth is not being aired in the West... many believe foreign elements were introduced by pro-Western factions with CIA fingerprints on it."

From Oliver Stone's Facebook page,

Excuse my absence these past weeks. A combination of overwork, prepping the Snowden movie in Germany & England, a side trip to Moscow, and a devastating head cold have laid me low. Recovering over Christmas in California; winter sun helps.

Interviewed Viktor Yanukovych 4 hours in Moscow for new English language documentary produced by Ukrainians. He was the legitimate President of Ukraine until he suddenly wasn’t on February 22 of this year. Details to follow in the documentary, but it seems clear that the so-called ‘shooters’ who killed 14 police men, wounded some 85, and killed 45 protesting civilians, were outside third party agitators. Many witnesses, including Yanukovych and police officials, believe these foreign elements were introduced by pro-Western factions-- with CIA fingerprints on it.

Remember the Chavez ‘regime change’/coup of 2002 when he was temporarily ousted after pro and anti-Chavez demonstrators were fired upon by mysterious shooters in office buildings. Also resembles similar technique early this year in Venezuela when Maduro’s legally elected Government was almost toppled by violence aimed at anti-Maduro protestors. Create enough chaos, as the CIA did in Iran ‘53, Chile ‘73, and countless other coups, and the legitimate Government can be toppled. It’s America’s soft power technique called ‘Regime Change 101.’

In this case the “Maidan Massacre” was featured in Western media as the result of an unstable, brutal pro-Russian Yanukovych Government. You may recall Yanukovych went along with the February 21 deal with opposition parties and 3 EU foreign minsters to get rid of him by calling for early elections. The next day that deal was meaningless when well-armed, neo-Nazi radicals forced Yanukovych to flee the country with repeated assassination attempts. By the next day, a new pro-Western government was established and immediately recognized by the US (as in the Chavez 2002 coup).

A dirty story through and through, but in the tragic aftermath of this coup, the West has maintained the dominant narrative of “Russia in Crimea” whereas the true narrative is “USA in Ukraine.” The truth is not being aired in the West. It’s a surreal perversion of history that’s going on once again, as in Bush pre-Iraq ‘WMD’ campaign. But I believe the truth will finally come out in the West, I hope, in time to stop further insanity.

For a broader understanding, see Pepe Escobar’s analysis “The new European ‘arc of instability,’” which indicates growing turbulence in 2015, as the US cannot tolerate the idea of any rival economic entity. You might also see “Untold History” Chapter 10 where we discuss the dangers of past Empires which did not allow for the emergence of competing economic countries.

In all seriousness am very interested in the story he would tell. The Snowden one too.

Meanwhile, if it is half truth, that will suck and contribute to disinformation rather than help.

Obviously.

What most fail to remember is that what precipatated the entire event was the need for a bail out. Ukraine either had to turn east or west for cash. The main event started when yanukovich went with the russian deal. In the end the entire thing was basically a fight between europe / US and russia over the rights to debt-fuck ukraine out of their sovereignty.

In my opinion, russia had the better deal with a $26bln bail out and subsidized energy. Europe's offer is much sketchier, and the coup has been painful. But in any case europe and the US had better influence, subterfuge, and control of media.

Are we calling up troops?  Certainly not on the television screen.  All I see are football games.

As far as I can tell no war has ever existed ever according to "the news" let alone is there one existing currently.  Even the Americans getting lit up in Iraq right now "aren't in fact there."

Neither are the folks being "lit up" over here?

Considering that the Russians didn't invade until after we spent a bunch of FRNs and sent people in to foment the coup, and the Russians did so after a referendum by the Crimean people, yeah, we should hang our heads in shame.  Or did you forget that we installed a puppet government in Ukraine?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIvRljAaNgg

EDIT:  We didn't interfere with the Russian invasion, we prompted it and made it easier for the Russians.  Why, they ought to be thanking us!

Fri, 01/02/2015 - 17:23 | 5616225 ChiangMai
ChiangMai's picture

Just to add to your overall point, regarding "Considering that the Russians didn't invade until…":

My understanding is that Russia, via a long-term agreement with Ukraine regarding its stationing of its Black Sea fleet in Crimea, was allowed up to 25,000 military personnel in Crimea, and that amount was never exceeded, even after the US/CIA violent overthrow of the legitimate Ukraine government.

Many of the Ukraine military personnel,of which many were ethnically Russian, willingly defected to the Russian military, so that not only could they stay in Crimea, but also enjoy far better pay and benefits.

Which explains why the Russian "invasion" of Crimea required only a volley or two of rifle shots (if I recall correctly, there was one death, considered an accident).

Fri, 01/02/2015 - 17:45 | 5616230 Mercury

Oh please. Like you'd ever say that some country or other prompted a US invasion...

I don't want to sound too glib here but the Ukraine has been a pawn on the chess board between East and West for a long time. The US arguably has a real interest in keeping Western Europe safe/secure and right now this is apparently where the rubber meets the road. Personally I'd like Western Europe to look after itself a bit more in this regard. Let them figure out their own energy security.

Fri, 01/02/2015 - 17:50 | 5616319 El Vaquero

If Russia destabilized Mexico, installed a puppet government, and there was a strategic asset in Mexico and we responded the same way, you're damned right I'd say that they prompted a US invasion of Mexico.  Swap Russia and the US, replace Mexico with Ukraine, and make the strategic asset the warm water port in Crimea, and you have the situation in Crimea.

I've got news for you:  There probably are no good guys in this fight, but we number among the bad guys in it.  Sorry if the concept that our involvement in Ukraine isn't truth, justice and the American Way, mom and apple pie and baseball all rolled into one, but our hands are bloody in this one.

America supports democracy as long as that nation elects the pro-capitalism candidate.  If not, they sink him, and get someone in power they can manipulate for the sake of American capitalism.  It is colonialism by proxy.  If you don't see that, you need a new set of glasses.

Actually, you think this sick version is not capitalism.  But it is the sick versional of capitalism.  There is a cleaner, healthier side of capitalism, closer to the ideal; and this is the corrupt side of capitalism, with all its warts and blemishes, thievery, disease.  The inevitable end of capitalism is to develop into state capitalism, where the taxpayers money is given away to the capitalists and new-feudalism is created.  Study the history of American capitalism; this is how every 36-year cycle ends, with bank corruption, corporate malfeasance, theft, corruption, panic, state capitalism.  Capitalism is good in the beginning, but horrible in the end -- like most everything else.  Pure at birth; used-up and rotten when it dies.

Well that's great Mr. Stone. Just wish you'd have the integrity and balls to rope in your boy Obombya into these documentaries. I'll bet this entire production will focus on Dubya and Darth Cheney's machinations which led to the current state of affairs in Ukraine. In other words, there will be plenty of (well deserved) Bush bashing.....but nary a peep or two about Magic Barry.

These supposedly 'awake' Hollywood types seem to become awfully lethargic and sleepy when it comes to Da Won. For example, where is Stone's documentary about Bengahzi, or the meetings Hitlery and Barry had with the Bilderberg globalists in 2008? How about a documentary regarding the tyrannical stompage of the Constitution conducted SINCE 2008?

Another Party Pussy rant?

Benghazi is/was a crime by BOTH parties.  Further, as evidenced by the fact that it hasn't happened yet, was never at risk of triggering a world war.  This is a whole nuther league...

But, if you continue to toss Party Pussy shit at the messenger, thereby clouding the message, then go ahead, heaven knows that the MSM really is starting to need help...

BTW - For someone who seems so worked up about Benghazi you'd figure they'd be able to spell it correctly (it's NOT "Bengahzi").

Speaking of scarey movies. Final Destination USA?

"The result will be an expanded medium intensity war across Africa and Central Asia, a collapse of the US economy, $5 dollar gasoline, runaway health care prices and a new “dark age” with secret societies and the cabal in Tel Aviv ruling America.

"False flag terror attacks are already planned to take the US power grid down for 36 months while a total police state is instituted.  We have identified the planners, seen the studies done “defensively” that are really the plan of action and know of 25 nuclear weapons configured for EMP."

These are actually one and the same entity for all intents and purposes.  And whose wealth is behind the City of London and Wall St?  Which banking dynasty?  Might have to get out your (100 year old) history books to answer this one!  Hint:  Red Shield, six sided star, etc...

Uh, with the power grid down for 3 years, I think there'd be a few issues with installing and running a police state:

1) Our modern food system REQUIRES refrigeration to function.  You think that cops and DHS stooges know how to produce and preserve their own food?

2) Refineries need electricity.  No gas and diesel for those MRAPs?  To bad, DHS.

3) Many other items required to put a jackboot on every corner will depend on enough social order to keep critical supply chains that depend on electricity running.

4) Very few Americans have an inkling what it means to be self sufficient these days (DHS thugs without diesel to run their MRAPs included,) and those who survived would be a lot more self reliant and clever than your average American today.

36 months without electricity in conjunction with the knowledge and skills of the average person today, and we'd be back near the stone ages, but those survive would be a tad bit smarter than your average DHS goon.  Besides, if I had to bet, I'd bet that a stone point would defeat soft body armor.

And so long as you are strictly talking soft body armor, you are talking about cutting fibers, not smashing through steel or ceramic plates.  Something to keep in mind is that properly flaked obsidian is sharper than any steel you have ever handled.  Not as hard and durable, but sharper.

Another thing to look at is Ed Ashby's 30 years worth of studying the terminal performance of various broadhead/arrow designs.  He advocates a heavy arrow with its center of gravity well forward of its midpoint, and a large two bladed broadhead with a "tanto" shaped tip and single bevels. The single bevel design is supposed to cause the arrow to spin as it passes through bone and soft tissue, making it kind of like shooting a blender at something.

Ukraine is much more blatant than Iraq in a way as Iraq involved making up evidence that couldn't be verified whereas Ukraine involves pretending lots of actual evidence that exists in the public domain didn't happen. It's much more blatant in relying on the power of the msm to maintain a narrative despite contrary evidence.

As someone who was beating back against the war drums for the Iraq invasion I can assure you that there were also plenty of signs: though, as is always the case, the "party" in power's people would have no such thought of their puppet offering up anything other than the "facts."  Go back and look at the journals of record and it'll be quite clear that they were all pushing for that invasion: it's ALWAYS been that way! (fuck go back a hundred+ years and you can see that)

Anyway, thanks for furthering the divide via Party Pussy rantings...

The Ukraine will prove to be Washington's Waterloo. WWIII --which will never actually turn hot-- is already in full play on the geopolitical chessboard, using primarily financial and monetary weapons, and Russia is outmaneuvering the forces of Mordor on the Potomac, more or less simply by refusing to become engaged in a hot war. Meanwhile, the Kiev regime is slowly choking on its own poo. In brief, the new Sino-Russian empire is kicking the Anglo-Western empire's ass.

All the new empire needs to do now is to claim a shortage and jack up the price of gold on the Shanghai Exchange. Watch the dollar vaporize in response, stranding American troops in bases all over the world.

This is essentially what happened to the Soviet Union not that long ago. And you can bet a stack of silver that they haven't forgotten the lesson. The subtlety and power of this as a substitute for nuclear weapons is an incomparabley elegant solution: killing the enemy, while leaving all populations intact. Sure wouldn't want to be one of those assholes in Kiev in the aftermath, though.

"Shadowplay"

To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you,
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you,
I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you,
I a room with a window in the corner I found truth.

In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more,
As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor,
And with cold steel, odour on their bodies made a move to connect,
But I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left.

I did everything, everything I wanted to,
I let them use you for their own ends,
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you,

I don't think so, but I read Mark Lane's 2nd book about the assassination, "Plausible Denial", and it scared me more than a Stephen King book.  I would say the movie supported that book pretty much.  I recommend seeing the movie.

By the way, another book that scared me was "Silent Coup", about Nixon.
