And The World Was Split In Twain

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Jeff Thomas via Dooug Casey's International Man blog,

Magic once flowed freely across the land… Ruled by a Covenant that gave both sides equal power, but in the quest to gain more, the Covenant was broken. Man survived only the dedication of a handful of people, and the world was split in twain.

In 1991, the Cold War between the US and the USSR ended, as, economically, the USSR had run its course. Since that time, the US has had the ability to back off on armaments and to strengthen itself economically, to become even more powerful as the world’s present empire.

But, of course, that’s not what they did. Instead, they went headlong in the direction of becoming a more highly armed, more fascist state. Along the way, they became extremely reckless with their economy, following a Keynesian model that contributed to the greatest debt bubble the world has ever seen.

During this period, they had numerous knowledgeable advisors who recommended a Westphalian system of cooperation between nations. But the leaders of the empire chose instead to pursue greater, more forceful dominance of the world. Over recent decades, US leaders have become increasingly self-possessed with their assumed level of power. So much so that, as long as they can sell the idea to the American people that the larger world is a threat to the US, they can advance as they please against other nations.

Nowhere in their thinking were they more incorrect than in their assumption that they could arrange for a takeover in Ukraine, a country long regarded as a key objective by the West in lessening Russian power.

Russian Takeover

But in the decades since 1991, Russia has rebuilt itself and has become powerful once again. In addition, its present leader has shown himself to be able to consistently outwit US leaders. This was either not anticipated or was regarded as unimportant.

Not only have American attempts at diminishing Russian influence resulted in Russia deftly countering every US move, they have resulted in Russia’s leader gaining great popular support, just as the US president loses his. Further, it has driven the Russians toward the other BRICS, convincing them to become closer with regard to treaties, trade, and economic development.

Along the way, the less powerful countries in the world, seeing the rise of the BRICS and realising that they might need to choose between the two, are choosing the BRICS. The Russians and Chinese have been busy in recent years, signing treaties and agreements first with Second- and Third-World countries and now with Western allies in Southeast Asia and Europe.

At this point, the US, if it had any sense at all, would back off dramatically, but this will not happen. Even such a stalwart US advisor as Henry Kissinger recently told Germany’s Der Spiegel that, regarding the handling of the Ukraine effort, “If the West is honest with itself, it has to admit that there were mistakes on its side.” He further stated, “There clearly is this danger, and we must not ignore it.” He warned that not to do so may result in “a historic tragedy.” Coming from Mister Kissinger, these comments, as understated as they are, speak volumes as to the folly of the present US leadership.

Only a decade or two ago, the US had visions of creating a world in which it was the undisputed leader, with the other powers acting as lesser players, beholden to the US.

But, incredibly, the US has trashed its own economy, driven productivity away (via the world’s highest corporate taxation), and created a level of debt that is far too large to ever repay. To add to this, they have invaded country after country.

What on Earth made them think that the BRICS would take this lying down?

Sterling BRICS

By comparison to the US, the BRICS, in recent years, have done a sterling job of becoming increasingly productive, establishing treaties and trade agreements, and working toward a common understanding that the US and the EU are a danger to them.

  • China will take over as the world’s most productive country.
  • China Merchants Bank now issues the world’s #2 credit card.
  • In response to US/EU sanctions, Russia and China have recently inked the largest energy-provision agreement the world has ever seen, posing a major threat to the continued position of the petrodollar.
  • By mid-2015, the Angola-Brazil fibre-optic cable will enter service, providing cheaper (by 80%) communications for the BRICS, independent of the US.
  • Increasingly, the world is entering into agreements to trade in the yuan and the ruble. Some EU countries now issue bonds in yuan.

New SWIFT

In recent years, I’ve forecasted that an even more significant step would be taken by the BRICS—that they would create their own SWIFT system. At first, this may have appeared unlikely, based on their continued statements that their objective was to gain a more equitable seat at the IMF table. Additionally, many people have not felt that such a move would be all that significant, as SWIFT is little more than a means by which to transfer payments.

However, I regard the possibility of a second SWIFT system as a major, major development, as, without it, the BRICS are still tied to the US/EU banking system and must therefore accept their edicts.

My belief has been that the BRICS would wait until most of their ducks were in a row before making this announcement. Russia has now made it. It’s set to be operative within the first half of 2015.

I’ve often stated that, with each year, both the magnitude and the frequency of events will increase. That theory seems to be holding true. Only a year or so ago, the question of whether the BRICS might even form their own IMF might have seemed quite fanciful. Today, we should be looking more closely at this possibility.

With this final step, the world could literally function as two separate worlds. Communication, trade, and inter-governmental economic dealings will undoubtedly continue, but at this historic point, the BRICS will have the ability to operate entirely independently and can no longer be held to ransom through the threats of sanctions from the West.

The world is now changing rapidly, and our future plans should be based not on what exists at present, but on what is likely to exist in the future.

There’s little any individual can practically do to change the trajectory of this trend in motion. The best you can and should do is to stay informed so that you can protect yourself in the best way possible, and even profit from the situation. That’s what International Man is all about—making the most of your personal freedom and financial opportunity around the world. The free IM Communiqué is a great place to start.

Hi skm, I'm no expert at all, but this is how I'm doing it, since we all know that consumer protection is totally lackiing in the Indian system overall...

1) Silver

2) Little bit of AU (my leaning is towards silver)

3) Arable land, faaaar away from Urbia and Sub-urbia.

Another personal view, India is intended to be the "expansion chamber" for hot money over the next 4 years. Current 12-25% loans have a long way to fall. I expect the Indian crisis to hit only in the 2017-19 period.

Unless the world goes to hell in a handbasket prior....

Central Bank of Russia has launched new SWIFT payment service, moving away from USD Western financial dominance..IN OPERATION NOW

The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) has launched a new SWIFT-style payment service aimed at moving away from Western financial dominance. The system is already operating, and will be fully functional within six months.

“The new service was launched in order to ensure smooth and safe transmission of financial messaging within the country, and is another step towards improving the system of services provided by the Bank of Russia,” said the bank statement Friday.

The regulator said the new service will allow credit institutions to transmit messages in a SWIFT format through CBR to all Russia’s regions without restrictions.

How long will the world accept US military and  economic hegemony and relentless illegal spying (100 billion pieces collected every month)?

248 armed conflicts after WW2; US started 201 (81%), killing 30 million so far

Since WW2, Earth has had 248 armed conflicts. The US started 201 of them.
These US-started armed attacks have killed ~30 million and counting; 90% of these deaths are innocent children, the elderly and ordinary working civilian women and men.
The US has war-murdered more than Hitler’s Nazis.

The US has 900 military bases in 130 countries per Ron Paul.

The Nobel Prize Winner has already bombed 7 Muslim countries, destabilized Ukraine, and continues to drone people wherever he feels like without impunity.

The US owns the 3 rating agencies and uses them as weapons of economic destruction.

US uses the 9-11 false flag operation to do as it pleases in this world.

The United States government has consistently opposed an international court that could hold US military and political leaders to a uniform global standard of justice.

The CIA is involved in illegal drugs, currency counterfeiting, torture and outright murder.  The CIA owns the free and fair press of the West.  Heroin production in Afghanistan has gone up 4000% since US/NATO invaded.

The crimes and misdemeanors of the US are legion.  The world will not put up with them much longer.

If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America. They don’t care for human beings,” Mandela

He had Crimea a couple of weeks after Nuland's coup.

Now there are Iskanders, Yakhonts, S400s, etc. and jet fighters, submarines there.  All carrying nuclear warheads and located on a huge peninsula in the middle of the Black Sea. With more soldiers and sailors than were allowed by Russia's agreement with Ukraine when Crimea was administered by Kiev.

You're a fucking idiot. The USA will never start a war with Russia. The threat of war is pure Russian propaganda, meant to improve Putin's favorability rating.

When most everyone perceives an individual as being desperate, those most everyones feel empathy for the desperate individual, and may even try to help.

However, when I perceive a Russian as being desperate (eg, trying to create some aura of relevancy for Russia), I recall that mother Russia brutalized, tortured, and killed tens of millions (and would do so again today), and I feel nothing but revulsion.

The US is at war with Russia now. Asimmetrical warfare on every front and hot proxy war in the Middle East and the Ukraine with the US being the instigator every time. The planned endgame is a color revolution in the Red Square resulting in Russia becoming America's bitch - like everybody else. The "propaganda" in the Russian press concerning that is far more accurate than the Western propaganda ("Putin's Missile!" etc.).

The US is at war with Russia now.

Read my post above. I responded to bid's comment about the powerful forces Russia has "in the southwest" which would repel the inevitable USA attack when the USA started a war with Russia! Of course, bid's delusional as he always is, but he's nice delusional. No way, no how is bid going to fulfill his wet dream and have the US military attack "in the southwest"

The latest poll from Gallup, dated 14Dec14, shows that, by a 43% to 14% margin, Ukranians prefer establishing ties with the West rather than Russia.

I wonder why? Could it be that Ukranians don't want to get slaughtered, like the 7 million Ukranians did, killed by the Stalin-imposed famine in the early 1930s? I don't know about you, but not getting killed is a big motivator for me.

with the US being the instigator every time.

Fucking Russian propaganda. God, is there no truth in Russia? Is everything propaganda?

Due to Russia instigating this crises, the US Senate eventually voted to supply Ukraine with military aid. I'm glad they did. Fucking Putin and Russia needs to pay the price for their unwarranted annexation of Crimea, and their stealth invasion of eastern Ukraine.

The "propaganda" in the Russian press concerning that is far more accurate than the Western propaganda ("Putin's Missile!" etc.).

If you're a hammer, everything's a nail. If you live and breathe Russia, everything's propaganda.

Here in the West, we have something called 'news'. You probably haven't encounted it before. It's spelled n-e-w-s. What News is is literally thousands of media organizations reporting the facts. Not all of these media outlets are 100% accurate, or 100% inclusive. Some are biased, and can be dismeissed. However, if you live and breathe the USA like I do, you'll find that, with proper filtering, you can determine the truth.

The truth is that Russia is the aggressor. That's not propaganda, but reality.

Fuck i wasted 3 minutes of my life reading your response and i will never get that back...

You must be delusional, i follow both sides of the news and through my critical thinking and the quality of news being reported, Russia is not the aggressor in this scenario, but i accept they are definetly supporting eastern Ukraine. If Russia does not support eastern Ukraine and is defeated then the war will be Ukraine vs Russia rather than Kiev vs East Ukraine. Russia cannot afford to be in a full blown war right now.

Crimea with a 97% vote wanted to join Russia, even if this figure was manipulated slightly, no way would it be below 50%.

As far as Stalin is concerned, yes he was arguably worse than hitler, but come on this is decades ago and has no relevance now. Ukraine has prospered under Russia over the last 20 years through its trade deals and was becoming a key country in Eurasia, the failure of the president to sign the european association agreement brought on the regime change in Kiev, Putin acted quickly and annexed Crimea to protects its interests.

This is the problem with the US, if they dont get what they want from the political leaders, then regime change is in order and this is what they are trying to do in Russia right now, a full blown attack on the ruble, a full blown attack on oil and a pending attack on eastern ukraine with US military.

The US will fight Russia down to the very last Ukrainian.

What? Russian annexing Crimea, in violation of Ukranian and international law, is not aggression? It must be nice living in a fantasy world where lies are truth.

You Russians are master of propaganda. You can rationalize anything, including the deaths of tens of millions in the 20th century. If you can rationalize mass murder, you can rationalize that Russia is not the aggressor.

Putin acted quickly and annexed Crimea to protects its interests.

Are Putin's interests to also conquer all of Ukraine, and include it in the reinvigorated USSR? The world thinks so. The world will not allow Putin to get his way.

Re your 97% figure, from this link

Andrey Illarionov, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and a former Russian government adviser, cited results of previous polls over past three years showing the Crimean support for joining Russia between 23 and 41 percent to conclude that the actual support for the reunification of Crimea with Russia was about 34 percent and that at least two thirds of Crimea did not vote for it. He called the referendum a "grossly rigged falsification" and the outcome "cynically distorted"

The referendum was a bullshit vote. Everybody knows that.

Of course, the USA and the rest of the world are punishing Russia and Putin for their aggression. The drop in the price of oil? Paybacks are a mother-fucker. Putin and Russia have earned the devastation this drop is having on the Russian economy and the Ruble. Couldn't happen to a more repugnant cadre of murderous thugs.

The USA will not go to war with Russia. The threat of war is being used internally within Russia to bolster Putin's favorability rating.

I knew you were old, but it never occurred to me you were living in the 1930s.  You are totally like Mrs Havisham in 'Great Expectations"  Sitting in your living room with a loaded shot gun waiting for Joe Stalin to come in.

I never said that the US would attack Russia from the south-west. I said Russia by holding Crimea would protect their southwestern flank from guided missile destroyers and frigates laying off the Russian coast.  Their jet fighters would more easily engage the Israeli pigs if Obama made them attack up the mediteranian around Turkey.  And the more S400s, the merrier.

The war with Russia will be fought with short, medium and long range nuclear weapons. Russian Crimea will keep a lot of America's short range weapons out of range.

There will be no Normandy landing at Sevastopol.

There is zero support in the USA even among conservatives for a war with Russia.  None. Nil. Zilch.

If you think there is support, then please cite credible USA media sources that affirm your POV. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.

okay

The USA will never start a war with Russia.

You know that and I know that and Putin knows that but the long suffering and undaunted Russian people don't trust the cocksucking Americans.  And Putin as their president is just doing what his people want.

Why did the asshole Bush start moving all those seige towers (patriot missiles) up to the walls of Russia? And why did the double asshole Obama continue with the bellicose and thoughtless plan?

Everyone will tell you that the imbecilic neocon conservatives hope that all the Russian ICBMs that survived the American first strike, would be destroyed by the Patriots at Russia's border.  And if a couple got through, our homeland anti-ballistic missiles would bring them down effortlessly.

Wiser heads prevailed and the US put all those missiles there for naught and now America's balls have shriveled up and are now hiding in the vast American intestines.

And if America though they could slaughter the Russians the way they slaughtered the Iraqis and the Israelis slaughtered the Gazans, well, you don't have to be von Moltke or Dick Cheney to know they'd do.

I know you're fluent in Russian and travel to Russia 4 or 5 times a year and think you know what the Russians feel about the Missile Shield and how they are falling for Putin's propaganda, but I suspect you're wrong like you always are.

Oh, and that revulsion you feel for Mother Russia.

That and $2.50 will get you on the New York City subway. You can be revulsed to your heart's content from the Bronx to the Battery.

Good. We agree, then. The USA and Russia will never go to war.

Yea, Obama backed down from past committments made to various Eastern European countries about the missile shield. I disagreed with that decision. If Eastern European countries want defensive armaments (ie, the Patriot missile) to protect them from Putin's hyper-agressive Russia, that's their right. These countries remember all too clearly what Russia did to them in the past: Fucking brutalized them. The fact that they want protection from a resurgently aggressive Russia is wisdom.

Look. Patriot missiles in a few Eastern European countries would have had no effect whatsoever on the logistics of nuclear war. The US could still destroy Russia 30 times over, and Russia could destroy the US 45 times over. All the missiles would have done is protect vulnerable Eastern European countries from that mother-fucking thug, Putin.

Well, if the Russian people support Putin, then they deserve to suffer. I still hope they realize their mistake and overthrow the cocksucker.

We fomented the coup over there, then we installed a puppet government.

Let's see. On Dec 8, 2013, 800,000 Ukrainians massed in Kiev to protest Yanukovich's rapprochement with Russia and his rejection of the EU agreement. Yes, there must have been at least 30,000 CIA operatives in Kiev who forced those 800,000 to gather and protest against the pro-Russian Yanukovich. Rrriiiiiigggghhhhtttt.

From the Lenin revolution onward, Russia has killed many millions of Ukrainians. And Ukraine would prefer union with Russia rather than the West?

2 Dec 2014 polls: (1) Ukranians prefer ties with the West rather than Russia, by a margin to 43% to 14%; and (2) Ukranian's approval of Russia is in the toilet, dropping to 5%

You see, the USA didn't need to orchestrate a coup. Ukrainians on their lonesome said "Fuck you" to Russia by an overwhelming margin.

To the radical left, what the Ukranians want is irrelevant. All that matters to these fucking assholes is what Putin wants.

Let me give you an example. A person has a Hershey bar about 1" from her wide-open mouth, and is moving the bar in the direction of her mouth. I yell at her, "Eat that fucking Hershey bar". To you, I forced that gal to eat the Hershey bar. To me, the gal made that decision.

Her name is Victoria Nuland, and the tapes were most probably released in an effort of sowing further dissatisfaction on how the US was handling Ukraine among the NATO allies

Russia is courting Europe. Don't forget that. Meanwhile, for us europeans there are lots of reasons to be very dissatisfied on how the US handles certain things. nothing new in that, though the methods are getting rougher since 9/11 (and many of us don't like them in europe's backyard, or applied on europeans)

but again, when it comes to military and geopolitical matters, we differ strongly among each other: Poland is practically our "leader-against-Russia", with the Balts, Norway, Sweden, Finland and in part the other new eastern members having very critical points against Russian foreign policy

Italy, on the other side, is our "leader-for-trade-with-Russia", with several western EU countries favouring a softer approach. Germany is torn, and interestingly the UK too

the whole thing is visible in the new EU appointments: the new EU Council prez is Polish, the new EU foreign affairs minister is Italian. The Stick and The Carrot, the Russia-Basher and the Russia-Lover

Oh, did I write that Russia is courting Europe? Well, Russia would not mind the whole package to become much friendlier, but if this does not happen, a merry "divide et impera" would not be bad, too, in the Cremlin's point of view

the biggest problem that Russia has in Europe is that it's friends are on the farther side while it's critics are more near Russia. And that we europeans have nightmares of the kind of divisive geopolitics that lead to alliances with soon-to-be-invaded countries in the middle of enemies. So no, we do want to keep being one package, one alliance. Don't even think to divide us, it just makes us more skeptical

since we are talking about tapes released for propaganda reasons, there was this conversation between the Polish PM and the Polish FM where they were discussing that the Polish-American Friendship was not going the way they hoped. (personally, I still hold a grudge for all those CIA flights from/to Poland, and the peak of the post-9/11 War Against Terror)

Italy might be on the "Right Track". But a lot of that depends on Russia. Which is talking the talk, but not walking the walk. We europeans would for example like to know if there are further territories that the Kremlin plans to annex. The very word annex might leave our American Cousins cold, but for us it's inflaming

Further, we would prefer to have Ukraine stabilized. We really don't like situations where hundreds of thousands become refugees. And we mourn those 3'000 deaths as completely unnecessary and wasteful. It does not matter on which side they were. Russia was not a careful, peace-promoting influence there, at least not as much as it could have been. This does not take the blame off the US, it's just that we blame both sides, each according to it's sins (a bit passive, from our side, I agree. but again, we are not of the same opinion, here)

In the not-to-distant future, Putin may not need to court Europe.  The Europeans will likely pursue Russia's favor.

The US/EU debt burden will eventually raise it's ugly head.  When it does, Europeans will pursue relationships with nations that have resources and functioning economies. Europe will want to keep the energy flowing and Russia will be ready.

Putin might be abrasive but he's also consistent, unlike his US/EU sophistry-spewing, obtuse counterparts.  His certainty is valuable.

I believe Russia's recent economic troubles will only prepare them for the coming global decline.  Their currency will stablize, they'll have RIFT in place to handle non USD transactions, and Ukraine will become managable as US/EU decline into self-obsession and Ukraine falls off western radar.

A 50% decline in Russian currency is nothing--millions of Russians are currently alive that have experienced much worse.  They know how to hunker down and get through it.  The west, especially the USSA, is completely clueless.  When our economic system starts to unravel the citizens are likely to beg our sociopathic and incompetent leaders to take even more control.  It'll only accelerate the western decline.

Putin knows what he needs to do--get his house in order and let US/EU consume themselves.  The western implosion has already started.  Putin is patient; he'll wait it out.

I disagree. this "economic stagnation" has three main causes: a global economic downturn, "austerity" policies and this trade bitching with Russia

for the first, you can claim many culprits, including globalization, if you like. in the matter of the second, the US in general opposes them, both balanced budgets and "no to QE". particularly the megabanksters on both sides of the pond

and for the third... well, is the Kremlin completely blameless? let me put it this way: Russia would not need this cozy propaganda vs Europe if it had prepared it's moves on the diplomatic carpet

specifically, Putin waited, waited, kept mum and then... acted without public warning. with an imperial maskirovska. that's not the way to behave versus trade partners which are also neighbors and republics with democratic principles and expect applause

We need to start a sub-thread here on the number of people Russia's killed. Below is one table:

https://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/COM.TAB1.GIF

Hey, you Russkys. You should be overjoyed. You're #1, at least from this source. (It's the #2 Google hit, which means it's a credible one, if you know anything about the way Google ranks hits. The #1 Google hit [Wikipedia] did not list deaths in table form, so I bypassed it). China, my God, is second. You beat China!

OK, Russkys. Let's do the chant:

We're number 1!
We're number 1!
We're number 1!

However, beware hubris. You might be #1 in total deaths, but are you #1 in deaths per capita? Yes, that's right. I haven't done the math, but Cambodia might outrank you in this metric.

Are you crestfallen, Russkys, that you're not #1 in deaths per capita? You poor babies! Come here and let me give you a great big hug.

OF course, that's all in the past. Today Russia is a country Mother Theresa would love, right?

Well, we could determine that. I have a proposal. Let's pool our money to hire a retired FBI profiler, and have him answer this question for us: Mr. FBI Profiler, based upon your experience and analysis, could the Russkys who post on these ZH Russky articles become the gleeful sadists and murderers that Russia had in previous generations?

If everyone agrees, I'll set up the account where you can send your money to. Remember, no Rubles, only dollars.

You are misguided by asserting that the USSR and Russia are one and the same. It isn't so.

We know that the Bolsheviks (partly funded by Western banks) created the USSR and Russian people were victims of it in the same way that other Soviet satellite countries were.

The USSR is now dead and buried. Attempts today by people such as you, Western elites and MSM to smear Russia and Putin as latter day USSR leftovers are very misguided.

Everything I hear, read and see about Putin tells me that he wants Russia to shed the old USSR image and bring Russia into the modern world and to be a part of the modern world. And the Russian people themselves want to be a part of it.

Sadly, it doesn't suit Washington, Westminster, Brussels and NATO to allow that. Rather than get their act together, they've decided that a new Cold War must be launched. This will come back to bite them and w will all pay the price.

The USSR was Russia. Which other republics were as per-capita responsible for the atrocities, both internal and external, that the USSR/Russia foisted on the world?

Russian people were victims of it

In absolute dictatorships headed by brutal, sociopathic thugs, the citizens are always its victims.

Attempts today by people such as you, Western elites and MSM to smear Russia and Putin as latter day USSR leftovers are very misguided.

Crimea/the Ukraine is Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. Well, not quite. This time, the West stepped up to thwart the total fuck Putin.

Everything I hear, read and see about Putin tells me that he wants Russia to shed the old USSR image and bring Russia into the modern world and to be a part of the modern world...

What do you hear? Russian propaganda? What do you read? Russian propaganda? What do you see? What Putin wants you to see?

Sorry, but Putin in using classic, tried-and-true tactics perfected by the USSR in Crimea/the Ukraine.

... And the Russian people themselves want to be a part of it (to reiterate, "be a part of the modern world".

Not quite, dufus. The NYTimes article Poll: 81 Percent Back Putin Even as Ruble Falls details what the Russian people want.

"I very much support Putin — who else is there to support?" said Valentina Roshupkina, a 79-year-old resident of Gryaz, a town several hours' drive south of Moscow. "The country is moving in the right direction, I believe, because he lifted up the army, he made the government stronger. People started to be a little bit afraid of us."

With the Russian economy buffeted by Western sanctions and the fall in oil prices, Putin has relied even more on his image as a tough leader capable of standing up to the West. He appears to be betting that this will help him weather the economic storm.

So far he's been right: The presidency and the military are the country's most trusted institutions, according to the poll, with three out of four Russians saying they trust the presidency and two out of three expressing faith in the military.

"We've revived the army and that's very important," said Ivan Savenko, a 50-year-old driver in the southern city of Stavropol who also took part in the poll. "For us, the most important thing is the army and then everything else. It's important for us that our country is a power. If we are not a power, we do not exist."

Yes, what the Russian people want is war, fucking war, shitting on the West, fucking killing and maiming and terrorizing like they used to do when they were strong.

Sadly, it doesn't suit Washington, Westminster, Brussels and NATO to allow that. Rather than get their act together, they've decided that a new Cold War must be launched.

It's the Russias who want to reinstute the Cold War, buttface nuker. The Russians want war. They lust for it. They crave it. They demand it to the core of their clits and dicks.

You know, it's very hard to lie all the time. Why? Because it's hard to maintain lies. It's must easier to tell the truth. Why? Occam's Razor.

If you're a Russian who wants to join the modern world, reject that fuckhead Putin, discard your lust for war, and join us peaceloving and truthful community of people.

Unfortunately, the US doesn’t have a lot of history and is very inward looking.

As everyone in the US planned a future based on ever rising house prices a quick look at the UK would have shown frequent house price booms and busts, the last bust being in the 1990s.

European history has been about the gradual move from:

absolute monarch -> aristocracy -> meritocracy

Interestingly, US history seems to be working in reverse:

meritocracy -> aristocracy (0.1%) -> absolute monarch

Today they are forming their aristocracy (0.1%) and when one of these families dominates they will move to an absolute monarch (following current trends).

European history clearly shows having very rich people does not lead to any trickledown effect; you just have very rich people and very poor people.

A glance at any third world country will show very rich people co-existing with the very poor, no trickledown effect.

Having an aristocracy of very rich people is new for the US, but it has been tried and tested almost everywhere else and is not a good idea.

I see the US trend similarly, but a little differently:

meritocracy--> democratic aristocracy --> authoritarian fascist oligarchy

Our Constitution imposes restrictions on govt to protect individual sovereignty.  This forces the band of sociopathic lawyers to apply sophistic methods to eliminate individual rights, thereby eliminating individual sovereignty and yielding sovereignty (and power) to the state.

Politicans adopt arguements that are convoluted and corrupt, weaving logical fallacies so as to prevent the citizenry from ever developing a defense (or one a citizen can afford).

The branches of govt are able to toss blame for "elimination of rights" like a hot potato.  No branch ever takes responsibility.

This means that no branch of govt ever suffers a setback, but also never has complete control.  Which is fine--because never having complete control means never being responsible for failures.

So the oligarchy continues to bicker and never resolve, increasing their spheres of influence while never taking responsibility.

If all goes the way of the oligarchs, they'll each have a marble bust of themselves among the ruins, while the history books will blame the empire's decline on internet bloggers.

"In 1991, the Cold War between the US and the USSR ended, as, economically, the USSR had run its course.

what is a Westphalian system? Let's start with the fact that the Peace of Westphalia (1648) established the traditional concept of sovereignty. Whenever people talk about sovereignty, they are actually talking about Westphalian_sovereignty. With the main tenets of respect among sovereigns, respect of established borders, respect of different religious policies, and the general recognition of the exclusive sovereignty of each party over its lands, people, and agents abroad, and each and several responsibility for the warlike acts of any of its citizens or agents

problem is, Westphalian sovereignty has many critics and enemies, including globalization, and this started already with when the Global Hegemon was the British Empire, in "Globalization v. 1.0"

Empires don't mix well with Westphalian sovereignty. The urge to meddle is too strong for that. Might makes right, and all that

Sure would be nice to join in the prosperity.  Instead we'll blow it up.  The US motto is "If we can't have it all........no one can".

"With this final step, the world could literally function as two separate worlds"...

Yes of course... Two separate Worlds...

The U.S. and everyone else that will be trading with the BRICS including Western Europe once Germany exits just as soon as Greece folds and the rest of the austerity gang realize what a bad idea it is to fuck with an energy provider with the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons that lives on their doorstep(s) versus one that is 5,000 km away!

Cause if you can't beat em you always end up joining em!

Debt or easy money drives inflation (until it doesn't).  30 years ago when exposing executive salaries was novel, I remember thinking that million dollar bonuses devalued our currency, at least moraly.

Now days I don't know what to think.

It was not excessive corporate taxes that drove the jobs off shore, it was simply greed.

First, a tangent: A WWII narrative of the Russian army in Poland, before the Germans were driven from Warsaw.

Why Poland? Well, my ancestry is Polish. Both sets of Catholic grandparents emigrated from Poland to the USA in the early 1900s. Starting in the 1950s until the USSR lost its dominion over Eastern Europe, my parents, and their brothers and sisters, sent care packages to our relatives living in Poland. We received few letters from them, but I remember the ones we did receive, and the sad tales they related about the brutal living conditions under Communism.

Back to WWII. Poland suffered 6 million dead, about 3 million each of Jews and non-Jews. The Nazis killed the most, but the USSR slaughtered about 150,000 Poles during its occupation from 1939 to 1944.

It's 1944. The USSR army has stopped just east of Warsaw. The Poles, foolishly viewing the USSR army as its savior, begins an uprising against the Nazis, expecting the Russians to invade Warsaw, and help the Polish resistance defeat the Nazis. Sorry, no. Stalin decided not to intervene, since he realized the Nazis were killing what could be, post-war, the core of any Polish resistance to the USSR. The Nazis killed somewhere between 150,000 to 250,000 Polish insurgents during the uprising. To Stalin, mission accomplished.

OK. Tangent completed. On to the main point.

My singular desire here is to educate you Russkys on reality and the facts. Why is that my desire? Because I'm an altruist who longs to help better my fellow man. It has nothing to do with the way Russia has treated my fellow Poles.

You Russkys continually reference USA propaganda, and maintain that the Russian version of events is much more accurate. What you don't understand is that any propaganda spewed by the USA mainstream media (MSM) is pro-Russian.

James Wood twittered a picture making the rounds late December. It speaks volumes: The supine, sycophantic MSM kowtowing to Obama.

What is Obama's posture towards Russia? Obama is a man of the far left, trained by radicals and/or commies during his youth. He is pro-Russian.

Which country does Obama arguably view as his worst enemy? Israel.

Ergo, what propaganda the US MSM spews is pro-Russian.

A little fillip. When the US Senate voted around mid-December to send $500 million in aid to the Ukraine, the vote was unanimous; iow, veto proof. If Obama had vetoed the bill, he would have been exposed, outed as a commie lover. Since everything Obama does revolves around his interests, he signed the bill. Don't blame Obama that he didn't veto the bill. However, he will do whatever he can to help you Russkys anyway he can get away with.
