Caught On Camera: Albuquerque Police Officer Shot Numerous Times, Survives
Albuquerque police officer Lou Golson was shot by a motorist during traffic stop. According to criminal complaints, Golson suffered a gunshot wound in the abdomen. A gunshot to the chest and two other gunshots to his left side did not penetrate his bullet proof vest, the complaint said. However, Golson broke a left femur and suffered a broken wrist during his fall.

cool local crime blotter story bro
Im willing to bet a sandwich that the gun wasnt a legal registered gun. Id almost bet that the shooter wasnt a law abiding citizen.
Any Takers?
RIPS
Now law abiding citizens will pay the price....seeeeeee....
Having lived much of my life in New Mexico I don't think there's any requirement to register anything that's not Class III (full auto, etc.). Any normal pistol, rifle or shotgun is just yours. So... I'm not a taker on your sucker bet.

Maybe the cop wanted the cash in his wallet
Does Anyone know what a head shot is? Gezzzz
Perhaps these Murderous Criminal Corp Pinkertin Thugs are finally getting the message. The door swings both ways.
Hate to have to point out the obvious...and I'm not trying to be funny in any way either. But from the time he called in to when the other cops showed up took nearly 3 minutes.
And as the saying goes: When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
Sorry the cop got shot and to make an example out of it. But the only thing that can save you in a gun fight is to win the gun fight with your own gun. Or get reeeeeaaaally lucky like this guy did.
Hope he fully recovers and that the scumbag POS who shot him gets blown to bits.
There was no justification, whatsoever, of that man shooting that cop.
This is as WRONG as that cop up in New York who choked the man to death.
MURDER IS WRONG....PERIOD.
IT DOES NOT MATTER IF A PERSON IS DRESSED IN A COSTUME OR NOT.
MURDER, or ATTEMPTED MURDER IN THIS CASE, IS WRONG.
That was an ambush.
There was absolutely NO JUSTIFICATION FROM THE EVIDENCE PRESENTED IN THAT VIDEO FOR THIS. NONE.
That Patrolman is not the ASSHOLE in NEW YORK who murdered that man.
That Patrolman is not responsible for OTHER'S ACTIONS.
WRONG!!! WRONG!!! WRONG!!!
And, likewise, I am not the asshole who did this to a cop, or, ANYONE ELSE.
So the Cops had best NOT take it out on me.
That is all that I am asking from them.
Leave me alone. I AM NOT THE BAD GUY.
Thank God he was just panicked, or he'd walked over and put one into the guy laying there. Dude up above is right, only way to win is to win, or possibly get lucky enough to live another day.
Wonder what he put into the door? 9mm and probably didn't go through.
No, it isn't wrong.
When the secret police were breaking in to every house in Russia, taking people off to the gulags, some people wondered if it would've been different if the police were scared. Scared that, every time they opened a door, someone would be standing behind it with a hatchet, or a gun.
If you want to fight a police state, make people afraid to be police, period. Good, bad, ugly...no one with a brain would want to be a policeman when the uniform makes you an automatic target.
That's the only way to "win" against government; take away all the rewards, give away unlimited risk. You wouldn't have any politicians either if you kept rolling the guillotines...
I am praying for a peaceful revolution. Now that will be optimal
I realize that it may not happen. But peaceful revolutions have happened before. The Berlin Wall came down and the Stasi was defeated, not as a result of violence, but as a result of other factors.
That optimal outcome is still a possibility.
It is wrong to violate someone, to take someone else's life, without it being an act of self defense.
If a Hot War manifests then I do not waive rights to self defense.
But we are not there yet. May we never get there as War is Hell.
Dazed...youre messin with my action around heres... ;)
Liberals (all BORG collectivists) say it may be a great time to relook at non register states constitutional rights.

NM doesn't even care about Class III. You still have to deal with the feds, but the state could care less.
All of the guns I lost in the boating accident were legal and NOT registered.
Police being notorious for killing innocent people is not safe either. People started to think whether I must protect myself or being killed.
As for NY police, police officers who do not respect and/or obey the Law and their superiors must be fired immediately. Police mob mentality must be eradicated.
as others have pointed out, this only reinforces the (erroneous) idea that cops have the most dangerous job on earth. It gives them a blank check to do ANYTHING to a civilian. All they have to do is claim "officer safety". Those two words trump EVERYTHING else. Your civil liberties, even your right to life, all become irrelevant if the thug with a badge fears for his life. And lately, it doesn't take much for cops to fear for their lives. Puppies wagging their tails, 12 year olds with toy guns, mentally ill people sitting quietly at a bus stop. Yup. Dangerous times. For us.
Assad security people also brutalized Syrian people. Now, they got their own medicine.
As for thugs in uniform, they are nor different than "regular" mob enforcers. They are not serving to and/or protecting people.
Only a handful of states have a list of guns to be confiscated (e.g. registration) and New Mexico isn't one of them.
Now, as to if the shooter was a prohibited possessor and/or that particular gun was stolen, time will tell.
More range time and always shoot for the groin if they are wearing a vest.
That guy is beggin' to get shot. Either by skittish cops or Zetas.
Or Americans. (not U.S. subjects)
Works for me. Note, I am still vehemently opposed to the 'war on drugs' and highly pissed that .gov has delivered this shit to our doorsteps and forbidden us to do anything about it.
Barry's open border policy has expected results. The several places where I used to go hiking in New Mexico and Arizona simply are not safe anymore; too many highly equiped with AK drug runners. And many of them are extremely well-trained.
I used to go to Mexico on the weekends, crossing the border at Laredo Texas... Haven't done in in years, ever since gringos started going missing at that border point... 100's have simply disappeared... Fuck La Raza and the SUV they rode in on to collect their welfare checks...
Oh, boy; I wouldn't stop that one, no matter what he was doing.
police code wma=White Male Adult.
It looks like a res neighborhood.
Yet, no one came to help. Very sad.
The liberals got trouble...
Oh, and based on the last ninety days, it would appear the Liberal Dems have devolved into the cop killing party........
Dam...cop unloaded into vehicle don't know how the driver wasen't dead
How driver didn't kill cop from close distance .... cop just fucking bad at shoting...
Fuck you and die
Massive adrenaline dump, hit multiple times and he still returned fire.
You're a dip sh*t...
DaddyO
only three things count; shot placement, shot placement, and shot placement.
<center mass>
And to be honest, he hit center mass for the driver's seat. Just had all that metal in the way.
fuck you to who down arrowed me ..that cop knew right where to shoot and the driver jumped out and ran..that fucker should have been gone!!
Glad the cop had a vest on!!
Wow. I'll keep my job.
How can you break your femur by falling down from a standing position?
Unless your are like a 90yo grandma with osteoporosis.
Heavy anabolic steroid use weakens your bones.
He broke "a left femur", his remaining left one was ok....
Hilarious; good catch.
Dirt bag ambush.
No one deserves this!
This type of attack will haunt everyone.
Think about yourself in this position, on the street and attacked by dirt bags, it's coming.
Routine traffic stops are now dangerous for everyone.
Be Careful out there...
DaddyO
CWII.
And that right soon.
Most "routine" traffic stops are to extract money. Not a whole hell of a lot of sympathy here for "routine" traffic stops.
Out of many different traffic stops I have been ticketed Five times.
Three times I did not deserve it...(I beat that CHP on the "Failure to Yield" charge and made Twenty Bucks on a side bet that I would. The other two were for driving somebody else's unregistered vehicle.) The other times I did deserve it...Speeding...and driving an unsafe vehicle. $25 Fix it..Rear Lamps were out.. That last one may have saved lives...like my own.
The others were not ticketed although they could have been dicks...but were not.
One time it was for my "Mecham for Ex Governor" Bumper Sticker. (I was young, in the Matrix, and idealistic.) But I must admit that I had some fun debating them and prevailed in my debate.
So...not in my experience. I disagree.
But, as a caveat, it was a different era when cops were more human.
Most stops are warrant searches in reality. I have a nice ride and while rarely stopped, almost always get off with a warning just by being nice and polite.
Best one, 95 plus on a two lane highway. State police going the other way passes me at the apex of a hill. Saw his brake lights light up and so I just pulled over even though he disappeared over the other side of the hill. 1 1/2 minutes later he comes flying over the hill and sees me waiting. Asks he how fast I was going, so I asked him how fast he thought I was going. He said 94. Had a pleasant discussion, and then warned me about two more officers between me and the state line and to at least bring it down a level so they don't have to stop me.
Reminds me of the fun I had with a CHP on Interstate 8 Eastbound to Phoenix fron San Diego. So going down the Laguna Grade into the Imperial Valley, "the Racetrack", my mother was traveling at 95 in her Camaro. I was driving a Toyota P/U doing my best to keep up as she had the Gas Card...and I had no cash.
Then I saw him in the Rear View Mirror about a Mile behind me...Regular Headlights...
So I shut down from 95 to 75. (Speed Limit at the time was 55) He caught up to me pretty rapidly. and drove up alongside me. I looked at him and smiled. He had me dead to rights. He looked at me. I slowed to 70. I looked at him and smiled. He looked at me...So I shut it down to 65 I looked at him and smiled again.
He just shook his head, cut off, and headed back to San Diego. Of course I opened it back up to 95.
I will always remember that and still have a good laugh about it. It was a different era.
Somebody does not like my experience?
Too bad. It is actually sad that you have not had any good ones.
too bad d'popo wud injah bad so he cudn' waste d'poipatatah...
Looks like the perp may have been one of those kinder, gentler savages that Fearless Ruler just ushered into the country carte blanche.
I never suffered from criminal, alien savages until I moved to the south west US. Then my car truck became a target of the animals. When it comes to these savages, it should be open fucking season on them.
"I whacked some cops."

driver/shooter is white
Could have been white hispanic. What a dumb thing to do.
Adopted this practice many years ago after almost getting shot by a very nervous rookie: when you get stopped, keep your hands high on the wheel. You want to do everything to keep the situation cool.
A very good idea, especially if dealing with ABQ PD. They've had so many marginally justified police shootings of people in the jurisdiction they've been under a federal probe for nearly a year.
This situation is unfortunatenot only for the cop, but because it reinforces the PD's shoot first mentality. IIRC we have a ZH reader that's from ABQ and hung out at the Boyd shooting protests who might have more color.
Hey, the cop actually had his lapel cam turned on. The news says that he's been on the force for 31 years, so, chances are, he's one of the more level headed ones. I would have shot back too. I think the real story here is that we're going to be seeing more and more of this kind of thing as the economy is continually in "recovery," and as the police state continues to crush down on us. So long as it is an us vs them mentality with the police, it is going to continue to become more and more us vs them in reality. On the flip side, I think that after the Boyd protests, the cops are scared of the reactions their actions are generating. They fired the cop who shot Mary Hawkes because he failed to turn on his lapel camera when he shot her. He said that it malfunctioned, which we all know is a lie. Also, a couple of cops got cornered at the Boyd protests, and rumor has it that they were near shitting their pants. I think that they got a view of the anarchy that their actions can generate and they didn't like it.
That PD is in bad need of being 100% dismantled and re-worked.
You mean if you don't create a situation, there won't be one?
Who knew???
stop the engine, put it into park, so the Reverse lights flash, turn on the dome light,
run down the window, keep looking forward but keep your hands either on the window ledge or up on
the dash.
or be busy pulling out the license registration and insurance card...
or be busy pulling out the license registration and insurance card...
That will get you shot. Wait until you are asked.
Moreover: I find that narrating my moves as describe total agreement with the police officer really helps.
i.e. Yes, officer. I will give you my license. To do that, I would need to move my hands to the glove box. I'm going to do that now, ok?
Then wait for their confirmation, then do it.
It's like Kendo - lineup your speaking and your actions and your words, all complicit with the cop, and they will really super-duper appreciate your compliance.

The gun and badge thug was more fortunate than John Boyd, and only had one guy shooting at him, unlike John Boyd.

The banksters need to repay us.
"James" Boyd, but, true nonetheless.
Damn that's fucked up. It just goes to show you how fast things can go south if you let your guard down.
Exactly, this is going to be bad for everyone because more and more it will get like this and routine traffic stops will evolve into felony stops for us good guys too.
Twitchy cops will be as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
Again, be careful out there!!
DaddyO
I once got out of a ticket being courteous in a situation like this. I got pulled over at night, tinted windows. I turned on all the interior lights and open the sunroof. I think I went through the yellow light.
I kept my hands on the steering wheel. I told the officer my license was in my hand and I needed to open the glovebox for my registration.
The cop was so grateful he wrote relly nice comments on the ticket. I went to court to plead no contest. The judge read the cop's comments and dismissed it.
Most of us, regardless of stripe, are decent people and want to treat others like we would like to be treated. Unfortunately, as my dad would say, it only takes one rotten apple to spoil the whole barrel (they kept apples in barrels in his day rather than those really nice cardboard boxes at Costco made in China).
Being courteous and respectful is great. Set the cop at ease. Turn on the interior lights at night and plece you hands where he can see them.
Then...when he is least expecting it...plug him...
NO!!! BAD TOM....BAD, BAD TOM. *SMACK* Okay...okay..I am back. (I just had to throw some evil humor in.)
Seriously setting the cop at ease will help get you out of tickets.
But being respectful does not equate to being a doormat. Know your rights and exercise them appropriately.
At times knowing your rights, and the ELEMENTS of the Law, will help you out. All elements in that section of law, must be proven if you are to be found Guilty.
"Do you know why I pulled you over?"
Answer: "No sir."
"How fast were you going?"
Answer: "I was traveling at a PRUDENT and REASONABLE speed, sir." (Element of Law)
"Well how fast was that?"
Answer: "As I said, sir, I was traveling at a PRUDENT and REASONABLE speed. I spend about 70% of my time watching what is happening in my path of travel, about 15% of my time watching what is happening around my vehicle, and about 10% of my time watching the rear view mirror, and maybe just 2% of my time watching my gauges and speedometer That is called "Situational Awareness". I cannot tell you my exact numerical speed at any particular second any more than you can sir.
If I were to be watching my gauges any more time than I have allocated to that, and NOT WATCHING ROAD CONDITIONS FOR HAZARDS, then it would, neither be REASONABLE, nor, would it be PRUDENT, as I would become a Road Hazard. So I am certain that I am using Reason and Prudence when operating this motor vehicle, sir."
At this time they know that they will be fought in Court. At this point they know that they cannot sell this ticket to you. You may get a stern, "Watch your speed." Most likely, unless you were way out there (+15 or more), you will not get the ticket. There is easier meat to be garnered.
And for all of you police, whom are reading this...
Do not be too surprised when I ask you, in Court, to estimate the speed of a falling object at a certain point when I drop it. Your skills at estimating speed will be tested and you will be embarrassed when I use
v = (2gh)1/2
to demonstrate how poor your skills really are.
And I do know about the Court's accepatance of the Driver's Book of Highway Safety as the "Bible" when it comes down to Traffic Cases.
Being respectful and courteous does not mean being a doormat.
HUGE props to this cop. He's shot, he's down one clip, reloads -- LETS THE FUCKER RUN AWAY -- then calls it in WITHOUT MENTIONING HE'S EVEN BEEN SHOT -- duty first. Give this guy a medal, a raise, a vacation, a signed Colt Python 357 magnum, and a $25,000 Olive Garden gift card.
It's almost as if its open season on police
If this keeps happening at an ever increasing rate I wonder what group would benefit most from instilling the chaos that will eventually ensue?
I haven't read a transcript of the Obama <-> Pina Neta discussions today but I wonder if they weren't exchanging ideas on civil unrest.
False flag to up the force the police use on people ... just part of their plan
tinfoil hat is on
Its not a false flag if you are the one being shot at. This is orchestrated from on high. Equipping and training police to assume each encounter will be life ending, while preaching to the hoodies that the man is out to get them...all coming from the same people. They want us at war with the world and with ourselves. Promote social breakdown and lawlessness, while building a domestic military to confront it.
Exactly!
Scum like Bath House, MaoBlasio, Fat Al are pushing the envelope.
Meanwhile, fascism gathers momentum in Spain:
https://help.riseup.net/en/security-not-a-crime
I thought Spain invented fascism???
I think it was Italy.
I think it was Khazarians from the country of Rothslandia.
The Luftwaffe fine-tuned the Stuka there [Spain] though. Instead of Wagner over loudspeakers, during a dive they allegedly just used sirens mounted on the aircraft to unnerve the enemy. Other reports say it was just the air-brakes on the Stuka that screamed during the dives.
Statistically, the lady that works at my local WaWa has a 3 times greater chance of being shot and KILLED.
Wawa!
Which only reinforces why we should all be armed, not just the cops. If we are going to hire enough cops to protect each and every one of us, we may as well stay at home. The idea that police can protect us is stupid. They should only reinforce our ability to protect ourselves.
"I carry a gun 'cause a cop's too heavy."
Fuck, I miss Wawa.
Unfortunately the pig survived.
Not every cop is an asshole. There are a lot of under paid good people with families out there who are just trying to scratch out a living.
Too bad one can't say the same about banksters and politicians.
No, not every cop is an asshole. I would say the exact opposite is true. Unfortunately, incidents like this influence their thinking and actions. As a result, when you or I get stopped we are viewed as potential "killers" etc. If cops could overcome that slippery slope, we would be ok. It is a chance they have to take when they choose this profession. If it is too much, then they should become meter maids. Prejudging millions of law-abiding citizens (gun-carrying or not) is not the way to go. It ends very badly.
Unfortunately, none of those "good" cops that outnumber the bad, do anything to get rid of those asshole cops that ruin the public's perception of law enforcement. When I see 5 cops standing around watching one "asshole" cop beat a handcuffed, unconsious "suspect", there isn't just one asshole. There are 6.
Until they start pruning the bad apples, the entire profession is rotten. I say this with cops as immeidate family members and friends. Unfortunately, law enforcement treats snitching cops worse than the civilians they abuse.
Good cops quite their jobs in protest, and find another less parasitic profession.
That's also the same in lots of populations - just asserting that there are many good ones is not an exoneration; the question is, how actively are the good ones doing things to stop the bad ones? because the bad ones are defining the population, and the population if it leaves them unchecked, allows the bad ones to define their worst expression.
This is any population.
Jano. Karma is a bitch. I am not a fan of what the police have become, but I sure as hell don't wish them dead. Here's hoping you never have a need for a cop because, as I said, karma's a bitch.
False Flag? That tinfoil hat is way too tight dude. Bulletproof Vests need improvement
This one is tough to watch - batshit crazy war vet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8-ycSkoYfc
Rifle>Pistol. The cop gave that guy way to much time to kill him, and paid for it with his life. Poor fucker. I may not be a big fan of cops, but if I came upon a situation like that, I would probably try to help the cop. And probably get killed for it.
We are all going to die. It might be nice to choose our timing and cause however.
Too bad.
The police sadly have Obama's immigration policies to blame.
Local news reporting that his leg was fractured by perp's bullet. Shooter has been caught and is a career criminal. Never should have been on the street.
Man, the judges here and the solicitor are so shitty they have thugs committing crimes while on parole and bail at the same time. Often on bail awaiting trial for more than 1 offense.
Here comes the new body cam cop reality TeeVee that we all just knew was in the works.
I got it, "Body cam chronicles" ™
There goes the COPS camera guys' job.
Targeting police is a bad omen. It will only make things worse if it keeps up. I'd hate to live in St. Louis, Albuquerque, L.A. or New York right now. Thankfully, I live in a city where the police are still friendly and mostly helpful
I hear that. I live in a small town in FEMA region X. Our cops here are non-union, professional, not 'roided out. The department gives preference to education over physical prowess. I would bet that fewer than half are former soldiers. They have no SWAT team. On the very rare times I have had contact with them, I had pretty much full confidence that I would survive the encounter. However, I was in an even smaller town up the I-5 corridor from where I live, and the two cops I saw there looked like mini-Schwarzeneggers and were dressed and equipped for Fallujah, not smalltown USA. Freaked me out a little.
We like guns in Texas.
I've been pulled over a few times for traffic infractions but have not had a ticket for anything in many years but a red light camera. I show them my CHL, they ask if I'm armed, I say yes sir, they thank me and send me on my way. A well armed society is a polite society.
Ditto. I've driven down to Texas several times ot visit friends and ALWAYS carry my Kimber Ultra. Police are so-so in small towns but in Houston they are super. One of my college friends was shot in a convenience store near parkland hospital. He was just standing there holding his diet coke and bag of chips during the robbery and then the thug turned to leave but at the last minute and shot two people for no freak'n reason. My buddy died on the spot, poor kid. The other guy lived, luckily.
Multiculturalism at its lowest.
Chimpouts follow no logical pattern.
Sorry about your friend; even if he was carrying, he might not have had time to defend himself.
Sorry about your loss.
That is bullshit that crap like that happens.
When was multi culturism at its highest...lol....in my experience when I was in Texas for a period time...Dallas cops...50/50 ...small towns/suburbs...no-go.... when I roll around So-Cal I self-insure with my xd-45 ....has three more rounds and no safety issues...
So I guess as things unwind that "extraction" of funds from the peons by Gov might just come at a cost, hugh?
Who knew?
I confess to a degree of ambivalence.
I'll just sit over here and watch it all crumble.
Well if this case plays out like all the similar ones, a Grand Jury will be convened, and it will be found that the shooter used force that was proportional to the risk, and no charges will be brought.
damn shame his return fire did not connect ......aside from shooting cop...white male with sinaloa sticker... wtf....identity issues....had to be lighter skin hispanic
Queue the assholes on this thread saying the cop deserved it in 3.....2.....1
I find the assholes embarrassing ... it amazes me how they can celebration their ignorance so unabashedly.
'merica, Far West every day !
Bullish bullet proof vest.
I'm glad the cops ok because he sounds like an ordinary Joe.
Fact is it's going to get worse for civilians and cops alike, the PTB want the cops to pick their side before the whole danmed financial system comes apart.
Martial law & gun confiscation coming to a city near you.
maybe cops will think twice before pulling someone over for something stupid.
Pig face can ask themselves a question, is it worth stopping that person for a broken tail light if I might get shot....
Good. Shoot more pig cocksuckers.
Given past and ongoing news about shooting and the killing of unarmed innocents, could it be that the driver was scared for his life?
YES!
